Dancing With The Stars Season 13 Las Vegas Odds After The Third Dance
I can never figure out how the odds makers in Las Vegas work? Below is OLBG’s odds after the dances this week. I think they probably have the top four right, but, what about the rest? I’m not sure Rob deserves to be as high as he is? Should Carson be last? I don’t think so!! 😯
J.R. Martinez 1.57
Ricki Lake 3.5
Chynna Phillips 7
Hope Solo 13
Robert Kardashian 29
David Arquette 34
Chaz Bono 151
Nancy Grace 251
Carson Kressley 301
Heidi’s Note: OMG they’ve jinxed Ricki!! 🙂  And JR. The final will now be Carson, Nancy and Chaz. These butt heads clearly don’t know what they’re doing. I do know I should have put money on JR and Ricki weeks and weeks ago.  Seriously, though, I think they’re closer. I think the probably have the top 4 partially right, although not necessarily in that order and the potential of Carson replacing any one of them is still high.  Depends on what the judges do re: Carson.
So funny…those oddsmakers seem to only be able to get the top half of the group or the bottom half of the group right each week, but not both. I think they’re FAR overestimating Chaz’ staying power – he was fortunate this week in that he was up against Kristin, who just didn’t really have anyone voting for her; I’m not sure he’ll be as fortunate in the coming weeks, especially if the judges keep scoring him accordingly. David’s odds seem a bit inflated to me as well…he seems to be having some popularity problems, and any sly efforts on the part of TPTB may only be helping a tiny bit. They’re really underestimating Carson – like, GROSSLY underestimating Carson. The dude is wickedly entertaining, regardless of how he dances. I firmly believe he’ll end up edging out one of the better dancers (maybe Hope?) for a shot at the quarterfinals. I would shove him in above Rob – and I think Rob might actually be in the right place. He may be kind of a jerk, but the kid can actually dance, and does seem to be improving each week – he seems to be pulling a “Romeo”, and the latter stayed through the quarterfinals. Just sayin’…
I think JR and Ricki are alot closer like Heidi says. These two are headed to the final in my opinion!
Heidi, LOL
Speaking of the bottom three, I can’t believe they’ve given Chaz better odds than Nancy and Carson. Carson is this season’s “Mr. Entertainment” and Team MacGrace seem to be winning hearts and minds. Am I being cynical in thinking that Chaz is hanging on partly because fans want to see Cher in the audience? If so, there could be a drop off in votes for him after next week.
Courtney, can Rob dance??? If you see it, I guess it’s there. He still seems soft and top heavy to me, the same way Len said Nancy was top heavy. Both Rob and Nancy seem to round their shoulders instead of pulling up through the spine and lifting their rib cage. I’m very curious to see Rob and Cheryl’s Paso. If he can pull that off, I’ll have to change my mind about him.
JR is in the top spot… After this past weeks performance, I don’t see how any of them could touch him at this point. I think he will stay in the top spot for the duration of the show.
I do see Ricki, Chynna, and possibly Carson in the semi-finals. Hope and Rob are the other two toss-ups for me. Rob is improving and could surprise us all (I can’t stand the Kardashians and wish they would all go away) and Hope??? (the jury is still out on her) I don’t know if she has it in her. I am kind of surprised that Maks rallied for her so much, given her body type. David has been a fizzle for me, first I liked him now I don’t really care for him. As far as Nancy and Chaz I love them, however, I really think they are the next two to go… 🙂
Sandy:
I don’t really think Hope is gonna be there for long, and I like Maks alot. She seems too stiff and too rough. If a man has to help a woman walk more feminine what does that tell you?
A great soccer player doesn’t always mean you can dance.
I think Ricki is doing wonderful with Derek, and Karina is doing great with JR. I don’t really see David Arquette lasting too long either for some reason. I really agree what you said about Cher, her presence next week must have alot to do with Chaz still hanging in there!
Sorry, Cidra made the comment about Cher.
Sandy, I have to disagree with the idea that JR has a lock on the top spot from now to the finals. I think JR, Ricki, and Chynna will shuffle around at the top of the leaderboard based on how the judges see fit to score them week to week.
I don’t think Maks lobbied hard for Hope. That story has been blown way out of proportion. Also, the whole walk like a lady thing is getting more attention than it deserves. Hope doesn’t walk like a man, she walks like a normal person. I believe the judges were pointing out that her walking steps in the cha-cha were a little strong. I think Maks is very pleased with his athletic partner. He says he likes athletes. He had good success with Laila. His last 2 partners haven’t been very athletic. So teaching someone who is strong, fit and has endurance must be a very nice change. It gives him a different set of challenges, which is always energizing.
Okay, I agree with the fact Maks never lobbied hard for Hope, that was blown out of proportion! I never said that. I didn’t exactly say she walked like a man, her legs are so muscular and thick I just think she is a little rough. Remember also she is doing alot of traveling, which is a distraction also.
I apologize, you didn’t say she walked like a man, that was me putting words in your mouth (which is wrong). However, I will stand by my statement that she walks just fine off the dance floor. So what it tells me “when a man has to help a woman walk more feminine” is that Hope isn’t a dancer. She has no training in how to walk in the stylized manner that is needed for dancing. I’m no athlete, just an average sized woman with no dance skills. Maks and Bruno would have to teach me how to “walk more feminine” too. So if by “rough” you mean she’s not elegant in the ballroom, I won’t completely disagree; but I don’t think she’s “rough” (as in masculine) off the dance floor.
Next week might determine how far Rob has to go. Cheryl might have cracked the whip (ooohh.. dominatrix!) with Rob after he got loose lips about alleged affairs at DWTS. Can she keep him in line?
I think Hope is a strong woman with her own idea of how she should dance. Len would probably tell her to trust Maks and let him teach her the right moves. JMHO. And Maks and Hope do not strike me as being close. A lot of partners form a bond of friendship during practice. Don’t see this in Hope and Maks. Yet.
@Cidra – From a technique standpoint, Rob isn’t bad – he was actually getting some nice rise & fall in his foxtrot and was on-time and hitting some nice lines. From a performance standpoint, he does seem to be loosening up and having more fun. As much as some folks might want him to crash and burn soon – I’m not so sure he will. If he goes home, I will have a feeling it will be more due to a comparative lack of fanbase than a bad score. And if David continues to strike-out with fans and Nancy doesn’t get her scores up…Rob could last awhile.
Cidra: I am cool with you. Sometimes an athelete gets into a little confusion. Remember she had problems with her kicks with her jive, I really liked their jive. Her soccer kicks, I think caused her confusion. I really don’t think she should be traveling so much, it might take a major effect on her!
I agree with your choice for the finals! These three shine, lets hope they keep their pace!
Margaret, Glad we’re cool. Undoubtedly Hope’s outside commitments cut into their rehearsal time and make it harder to refine her dance technique and drill the routine into her brain and muscles. She probably would be sharper if she rehearsed as single-mindedly as some of the other celebs; but that’s her choice. Our choice is to decide whether we like what she and Maks are doing enough to vote for them.
Yes, I really hope Ricki, JR, and Chynna don’t crash. They would be an excellent final three.
@Courtney, if anyone can make a dancer out of Rob, it’ll be Cheryl. She might also knock some sense into him in the process. 😉
Odd makers are on target with with the top 3. Would love for David and Carson to stay for a while.
Agree that the odds-makers are on-target with the top 3. However, I’d like it if David departs the building ASAP… 😉 Having said that, I’m thinking Chaz will be next, then Nancy. Hoping Carson hangs on as long as possible – he’s making DWTS a LOT OF FUN this season!
I agree with their top 3. With Carson on the bottom, they’ve got that wrong. He brings some fun in the ballroom.
I had enough of Nancy Grace, Chaz and David. They’re my pick to go in the next weeks to come.
I do think that JR will stay at the top throughout this season. He has talent and he is likeable. I have to disagree on Hope being anywhere near the top. I think her days are numbered. As much as I like Chaz, I think he, Hope and David will be the next to go. I’d love to get rid of Rob. Enough already!!
[…] another week makes! Below are the Dancing With The Stars Las Vegas Odds for October 17th from OLBG. Last week, they had Carson at the bottom of the pack. He’s risen a notch now, but, he’s still not […]
