I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

Tristan MacManus On DWTS Rumba Rehearsals: “The Fun Is About To Begin” (Videos)

Tristan tells Access Hollywood the ‘fun is about to begin’ when they ask him about he and Nancy’s rehearsals. They ask Nancy if she’s comfortable going into week 5. Nancy says she forgets everything else when the music starts to play. She’s also getting use to “the panic” that sets in. Nancy also discusses all the hats a woman has to wear whether you are a Mother, a fellow prosecutor, etc. and she’s not different than any other woman. Right now, she just wants to concentrate on getting the Rumba down and hopefully, nailing it Monday night. More below…

And check out how they are dancing to a Madonna song! YAY

Dancing With The Stars Week 5 The Bangles, Kelly Clarkson, And The Band Perry To Perform

The Bangles, Kelly Clarkson, And The Band Perry will be performing on the Dancing With The Stars Results show Tuesday night according to this tweet from ABC.

Below are more exciting details from the Official Dancing With The Stars site. Being I’m a huge Madonna fan, I am majorly excited!

If you love the ’80s, then break out your Ray-Bans and legwarmers, because Week 5 of Dancing with the Stars is just for you!

Each team’s dance will feature music straight from the ’80s. Get ready for the possibility of bright neon colors, supersized shoulder pads and some sky-high perms. We can’t wait! Here’s the inside scoop on next week’s show:

The pros are doing a Madonna medley to “Like a Virgin” and “Like a Prayer.” Sounds, like, totally awesome! There will be a lively Jive to Wham’s, “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” as well as a slick Samba to Gloria Estefan’s “Conga.”

Adding: More details revealed at ABCMedia.net.

Dancing With The Stars Season 13 Cast To Be On The Dr. Phil Show Monday (3 Videos)

The cast of Dancing With The Stars will be on The Dr. Phil Show on Monday to “celebrate 13 seasons of the highly-rated television phenomenon”. Below are three video clips for what’s to come from Dr. Phil’s You Tube Channel. I’ve always thought it would be fun to see Dr. Phil dance on the show. Can he dance? Well,…we’ll let you be the judge. 😯

DWTS 2011 Inside Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke’s Rumba Rehearsals (Video)

What is the hardest thing about the Rumba for Rob Kardashian? He tells The Insider the hardest part is getting into the “sexy personality”. Cheryl says he really needs to move his hips and they are working on it. Ron also says he isn’t as nervous as he thought he would be coming into this competition. By the end of a week, he feels comfortable dancing. He just hopes he doesn’t mess up come Monday night. There is some footage of them dancing the Rumba as well. What do you think of what you see so far?

Seriously, not too bad, and I like seeing him smiling too!

DWTS Maksim Chmerkovskiy Writes on The Popular Vote, The Tango, and Raps With Val! (Blog, Video)

Maks has written a new blog for TV Guide. He writes that doing an 80’s Tango seems a little weird, but, he’s worked it out and has a “good idea and a good story” for it. Maks also writes about last week’s dance and Len’s comments about Hope not being committed. He also writes of the entertainment factor and the popular vote and if they are taking over the show versus a good story and room for dignity. See if you don’t agree with what he says below?

I thought Hope did an amazing job with the foxtrot. She was great and we’re pleased with the 24. I just want to be clear that we don’t’ have issues. We don’t have problems. We don’t have life issue situations we need to overcome. We’re just dancing and we’re trying to do our best. Given Hope’s background, all the physical attributes we’re trying to enhance, I’m proud of her. For a badass goalkeeper to dress up as Jessie, she was great. She was really believing in it and living it up. She’s improved. Her frame’s so much better. The technical aspect of foxtrot was up there. But we’re starting a new dance, and as it is with every new routine, we start from scratch. I’m hoping to get to the point where she starts learning tango as a continuation of foxtrot in terms of skill.

As for Len’s comment that Hope is not committed, I think it’s a heavily produced moment. The judges have no idea nor do they particularly care how much we rehearse. For him to say stuff like that, he was told to say it. I don’t know what the point is, but it is what it is. I love the show. I think it is an amazing job. It’s a great opportunity, a phenomenal platform for promoting what I love, but we’re becoming a form of entertainment. I feel like we’re losing a little bit of our dignity. I think we need to find a way to balance it out. There has to be room for an incredible story. There has to be room for shock factor, but I also feel like Chynna and Kristin leaving told everybody that unless they have a gazillion of people voting, it’s not good enough. Chynna has one hiccup and she leaves. Others hiccup on a regular basis and they’re not in jeopardy at all.

Be sure to read the full blog to get more of his thoughts on Tony and Chynna’s departure.

I do agree that Len’s comments were out of line questioning Hope’s “commitment”. At the same time, I think Len just really wants to see Hope do well and believe in herself in case there are committment issues. If she does believe in herself and gives it her all, she might find herself in the Top 3 and who knows what might happen after that?!

As for Maks thoughts on the popular vote, I’m not sure I want any changes to the show? One thing I don’t want (as many of you have commented in other posts) is a “Judges save”.

Off topic a little, be sure to watch this Pap video. You can see Maks and Val rapping and dancing outside a club this week. Too cute!!
