DWTS Season 13, Week 6 – The Results (SPOILERS!!)
Well, the results are in….and we’ll leave a bit of white space so no one on twitter gets spoiled.
Chaz and Lacey are leaving tonight and I can’t say I’m very happy about that. But it is what it is.
Ordinarily after a show like last night’s I would wager that Hope gets much nicer treatment by the judges next week because they felt bad by what happened. BUT, after seeing the behind the scenes stuff tonight, I’m not at all sure that will be the case. Not a whole lot of pity floating around from the judges. We’ll see. Will they try to prove Maks wrong? Or will they hold a grudge??
Me? I was off by one and I think, if I remember correctly, Courtney got it right!!
Len will not hold a grudge and I think Bruno won’t either but they will underscore her to make apoint to Maks that they give the scoes on “his show”. CAI on the other hand cold go either way and hold a grudge or ignore it entirely.
I was actually thinking it was gonna be Maks and Hope. They would have deserved it! I could have tolerated Chaz another week. He was gracious, which is something you can’t say about Maks.
So now this AM we have Maks on GMA whining and attacking Derek personally, along with Maks Fans plus some of Marks fans campaigning against, filling all the boards, blogs and anywhere else they can bash Derek with negative and just plan untrue stuff.. What is the show and ABC gonna do about this….they had better do something. This guy is nothing but a sore loser attacking everyone for doing their job. I don’t recall Derek ever demanding a particular partner. Of course all the news shows now giving all this air time to people saying negative stuff about Derek and making it sound like all the other dancers support Maks. I hope all of you are contacting everyone who can be reached out to about this attack on the guy on the show with the most class and talent. And I hope the judges give Maks and his hopeless partner 1′s next week and get their toxic personalities off this show. Of course by then I’m sure there will be plenty of damage done and next week being Halloween….voting will be spotty and dicey enough that Ricki and Derek could be in real trouble. Derek and his sister were the 2 best things to happen to this show. If Derek leaves the show instead of Maks next season, after watching every single episode, I’m done.
In addition Maks now has all of his fans, some of Marks droolers and the other dancers voting against Derek. Oh no, not saying it, just “we are supporting JR”. Not waiting to see how he and Ricki stack up in technicality or execution for the rest of the competition…..just we are supporting JR. Yeah, right !!!!
I was sorta warming to Maks a little last season, shoulda stuck with my original feelings about him. An ass. And the other dancers, not enough guts to say anything Direct about Derek. Their jealousy and lack of support of him, so obvious in their silence alone.
Remember last season, he was “unhappy” with results, and he & Kirstie thought Hines won because of football fans lol…..I’m not a football fan and I voted like crazy for Hines because he was good, practiced & was committed, had nice dance chemistry with Kym, and he connected with the fans. I know many people who never even knew who he was until dwts. Maks seriously thought Kirstie should have won because of her “journey”….this from the guy who has always said it should be about the dancing…..she also got past Ralph & Chelsea because of her fans….geez
This event has generated lots of talk. ABC must be thrilled.
I support Maks’ right to speak out but I think it is now time for him to lock his lips and get back to the rehearsal hall.
Derek has tweeted that he thinks he has a good team.
Maks was totally out of line. Len gave him a way out and a way to save face and Maks was too ….something.. to realize it. Very disappointed. Liked him last year.
I thought he had changed last year, but I guess it was just that Kirstie really was driving the bus.
Hmm…just thought of something….ratings? Put Maks & Karina on same team and make him take directions from her lol!!! Off topic: has Brad been in audience? he was in LA after the Tigers got eliminated.
I almost spit up my martini when Brooke got not one, but two great lines in when she was standing with Tom at the end…”Still just as awkward the second time” and “Tom, let’s not fight over the words.” Tom, of course, got in some good ones, especially, “Damn, I was going to ask him for a raise.” Is it me or was Tom looking like he needed combat pay?
Bruno’s face, when they cut to the judges after Chaz’s video about being called names said it all. He was smug, shrugged, and did not get why Chaz could possibly be upset.
Let’s just hope people in the “real world” who just tune in on Monday to watch the dancing and showmanship, the good attitudes, and vote accordingly. And let’s hope that is enuf against the onslaught of rabid, agenda-driven kraaaazzzees.
I have always been a Hough and Karina “fan”…but when they had weak partners, I certainly did not vote for them when they were up against somebody talented. These Derek-hate/jealous types don’t even consider Ricki or the fact that she has improved so much and accomplished a lot in her life and is very brave as well. People who have always dealt with fat issues never really get over it and to get in front of millions takes guts. And to do what she has done, just amazing.
I admit it was nice to see the wonder trio knocked a peg or two the other night! However Maks didn’t object to the over inflated scores he and Kirstie received on multiple occassions last season. Like that Jive were Kistie forgot to dance and received a 9. Carrie Ann scolding Maks on respect is laughable. Bruno calling Chaz a penguin, and the things he said to Ralph & Karina are examples of disrespect in which Carrie Ann remained silent. Maks gives Len a piece of his mind an she turns into warrior.
Derek is….being very PC yet again.
IDK what maks said on GMA because i didnt watch it, but i dont understand how some of you guys are blaming maks for something his fans or marks fans are doing, like he can control them. IF his fans are bashing derek, shame on them, not shame on maks.
Maks is a colossal ass and if mimi is right about what he said on GMA?? Well, if he thought we didn’t like him before he better don flame retardant underwear before ever coming here.
What a hypocrite!! So he speaks his mind and is lauded by his fans. Derek speaks HIS mind and is told to shut up. Maks get mad because Derek didn’t back him -then MAKS goes on national TV and talks Derek down??? Yeah, fucking ignorant hypocrite.

Maks, about other pros, said “I really don’t care what any one else thinks.” He suggested that others had criticized his actions, except for Lacey and his “best friend” Tony.
They asked about Derek, and he said, paraphrasing, – Well what I know is that Derek does what is good for his career on the show and if I’d been given Nicole, Jennifer and Ricki I’d be happy, too….
He said it’s unfair when some don’t dance and yet are praised for effort and then Hope is criticized.
He came off horrible to me. “I have nothing to apologize for,” “We live in a country where I can say what I think,” etc. Lacey then said, “It’s hard to take this show seriously when the judges are so inconsistent.” Then, they went ape… supporting JR (Lacey and Chaz), which also came off weird to me.
It’s like the whole environment has been poisoned.
Actually, Maks is now bashing Derek on National TV. What a classy, classy guy. Not.
…and the beat goes on. ABC must be loving this!
Sorry to see Chaz/Lacey go, for a number of reasons. I like them better than I do Rob/Cheryl and Hope/Maks. Are they better dancers? No, probably not although I’m sure an argument could be made either way. They do, however, have much better chemistry than the other two couples. Rob just doesn’t have it for me – he’s stiff, he postures rather than moves, his hand placements seem unnatural. Hope cannot move fluidly, her dancing looks more like walking. Yes, both couples have improved since day 1, but I just can’t get behind them. And their dancing is not changing my mind.
Disclaimer – I’m not a dancer, know little to nothing about technique, am only going on the overall impact of the dance. Like the majority of us out here in the viewing audience.
DWTS has left me frustrated this week. I hate it…. Not the show, just the…. EVERYTHING that’s happened.
Where’s our Sparkle Fairy? Time to head to Hollywood and sprinkle glitter dust everywhere on the whole thing. And, don’t forget to chant, “It’s just a tv show, it doesn’t really matter” while doing so…
Kudos to Chaz for going out with class last night!
I’m very disappointed in Maks – I feel like he has poisoned the whole tone of the show.
Going to go spend some time in the Lotus position chanting “it’s just a glittery dance show, it’s just a glittery dance show,…”

Hope deserves the Maks we saw last season, while he was with Kirstie. That Maks is in there, somewhere…..
I know he said what he wanted to say just came out wrong, but with the exception of last season, he has the same problem every season. He’s thrown people under the bus for a long time…. And it’s not even the first time he’s tossed Derek under there…. And Derek’s best friend/”brother” also takes his turns to toss D there….
I don’t know if I would have been upset to see Maks leave last night. Hope? I’d miss her. She’s trying her best, and SHE doesn’t deserve to leave on a bad note.
And now Ricki (and Derek) are being handicapped AGAIN. They get stuck with Hope who can’t even keep time with her own partner and Maks, who after going to team practice last night goes on to GMA this AM and bashes Derek, his motives and then repeats this sour grapes old addage about Derek’s partners. Like Derek HAD A CHOICE. Those are producers decisions and he attacks Derek over it. He is not just an ass, he is an idiot who just doesn’t get the fact that HE is the reason many of his partners don’t win. He doesn’t have the imagination to figure out what appeals to the GENERAL public or the teaching touch that Derek (and Julianne) have. And Maks and Hope make a great team, they both whine and blame everyone and everything else and throw everyone else under the bus while they are doing it. We have already heard all of Maks excuses and of course, Hope, and the “I’m not a dancer” insinuation like the other stars are ????
So now Jr has the fabulous Tristan and all his rabid followers and Nancy with a whole network supporting her so guess we know who will not win the team dance. I mean, what are the judges to do? When Hope screws up the timing and syncronicity, it’s gonna be hard to do anything but give the whole team bad scores.
All this controversy made me think, appropriately for Broadway week, of the “Notes” section of The Phantom of the Opera ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pU1DxiOEXF4 ), more specifically the following:

In other words, regardless of the actual content of the remarks, regardless of who is right or wrong, the show’s producers must be like a cat with a plate of milk right now, gleefully lapping the attention such a publicity move gets them. And I have the feeling that they might also have engineered the thing (at least to an extent), having the judges point out stuff that would be sure to rub Maks the wrong way.
Remember, it’s Hollywood, where everything is make-believe. And this little drama is nothing else than a big tempest in a tiny teapot.
After that GMA interview I offfcially think that, in lack of a better phrase, Maks’ head is too big. Yes sometimes the judges are unfair but you didn’t see Karina bashing other pros for not defending her and Ralph on live television. Me thinks Maks needs to get back to the way he was last season since he has turned into a big donkey.
We all try to say it with so many words when in fact it is quite simple: Maks, you are a moron.
If we don’t get a breather from him next season I will be pissed. There are so many dancers who would love to be in his place. I say, give them a shot.
Have to add, vin, that Karina was really offendend that time… IMO
@sasa: I think that its time that DYMETRY takes Maks’ spot for a couple of seasons or for the remainder of the show’s history (either way I’m good).
Lastly, Chazz went out really classy yesterday. It was sad to see him go but can’t wait to see what he will do at the finale.

As I said in a previous topic: Maksim problem is he doesn’t adapt the dance to his partner, but the partner to HIS dance.
kym, derek, mark, cheryl – to list a few – always hide the weakness and shine the strenght of their partners
@Carlos: I agree with you. The other pros adapt to their partners but Maks doesn’t. I am glad you said Chery since she is the ebst example. She is constantly adapting for her partners. She really has worked this season to improve Rob and its working really well.
@carlos – I agree with you that Kym, Derek, Mark and Cheryl among some others work to help their partners and make them shine. They take both their strengths and weaknesses and choreograph around that.
@mimi – I am a Mark fan but of the remaining contestants I am basing my support on who I feel is doing the best job. I am voting for JR because I knew who he was before he came on the show and have enjoyed his journey. He has really improved each week and love his attitude and approach to life. I do not think it is fair of you to state that we are voting against Derek.
@Heidi – I agree that if any of the other pros speak their minds they get crucified. Maks can speak his mind and gets lots of praise. I am sure all of the pros get frustrated with the judges, we all do but it doesn’t give Maks a right to say what he did. It is NOT the Maks show. I was really shocked when I watched the GMA interview and he said what he did about Derek. Robin Roberts were shocked at his comment too. I think this year with his brother on the show it has given Maks more of an attitude to speak his mind since he has his brothers support.
I am neither a Hope nor Maks fan. I have not enjoyed their dancing nor attitudes for several weeks. Given that, I believe the judges were spot on with their comments to Hope-Maks just didn’t want to hear them. I don’t agree with the things he said to the judges or the way he has handled himself.
@Mimi. You have called Mark fans crazies and Tristan fans rabid. Just because fans choose to support someone other than your personal favorite does not mean they should be called names. I am a HUGE Mark fan and I am supporting JR. I’m a military brat and admire tremendously JR’s story and attitude. IMO he is also the best dancer. I make no apologies for not supporting Ricki because it my vote and I prefer JR. Plain and simple.
Dimitry taking Maks’ place? Not sure I could bare that. lol I’m still a Maks fan, but, if I were judging my very favorite male dancers right now (setting the controvercial stuff aside) and only basing it on how much their dancing has effected me this Season, this is how I would rank them;
1. Derek and Val (tied)
2. Maks
3. Tristan
Michele, I apologize for the “adjectives”. I was basing that description on months/years reading all the unfounded attacks and lies spread about Derek on the DWTS boards and blogs even during the season he wasn’t on(and in Tristan’s case) weeks. Great so you are a Mark/Tris fan like I am a Derek fan, hopefully…try to keep comments positive only about the person I support. But manyMark, Maks fans go on threads or open them just to bash Derek (or Karina) and go on their fan sites to bash them as well. I got up this morning and b4 coffee walked into the room to the first of many of Maks smirk faced remarks. Recorded them watched back and got angrier still. And IF you go to read some of those remarks you will see that I am not wrong about irrational hatred of Derek. But I do apologize as I said, for the adjectives as being all-encompassing.
Believe it, Derek is always a gentleman and diplomatic but his friends are going to do as much as possible to get rid of some of the toxicity.
Please don’t throw JR under the bus, none of this is his fault. I’ve been voting for him because he’s an amazing dancer and an amazing person. I am not voting against any one else. I agree that no one does the whole journey better than Derek, knows how to pace the journey, how to really teach his partners, how to make them really shine and how to appeal to the judges and wide audience. I like Ricki just fine, and I think she’s doing great. And I think she has an excellent chance of winning because she’s doing great and because Derek will be sure to show her greatness off to full extent. But when it’s time to vote for the person I want to see come back, the one I want the most to come back the next week is JR. I LOVE watching him dance!!!! Please don’t take away from his journey by implying that people will vote for him because they are voting against Derek.
I am not throwing anyone under a bus. I also, if you read back, said I am a big fan of Karina. But what kept me entertained by this show and kept me watching was the attitude and charisma and excellence added when Julianne and Derek joined the show.
We, like Derek, have always taken the high road and followed his example. But playing nice is over now, we are not hampered like Derek is, to try to do something about it. This uncalled for attack this AM by someone who just doesn’t recognize his own weaknesses, added onto ALL the bashing and spreading of untrue statements about someone who is just VERY talented and doing his job is beyond enough .
At this point it has nothing to do with Jr. Ricki has had quite a journey , has gone thru alot and accomplished a great deal in her life too. Her dancing is a little smoother and polished than JR but I really consider them about equal. If Ricki and Derek don’t continue to do great work I may also end up voting for JR. But unlike many others, I don’t start out a season saying I am voting for a perticular person because I am their fan and I do base alot of my vote on the quality of dancing and entertainment value.
But of course, now after this crap, and of course the Kardashishian schenanigans of tweeting Rob’s voting # and saying it was Justin Bieber’s phone #, I and everyone I know, can dig up or recruit in any form…are voting for Derek. Like I said, playing nice is over.
Two wrongs, don’t make a right. I applaud Derek for taking the high road and have more respect than ever for him. For my part, I’m going to try to follow his example.

@Mimi – as a Mark fan I totally understand your feeling about the DWTS message boards with the constant badgering. The message boards attack Mark all the time. Everything that Mark does or says people have to post many nasty things about him. I know the same goes for Derek and it is a shame that people on the message boards have to be so nasty and rude.
As regards to the Kardashians, what they are doing is horrible. I heard what Kim tweeted and now I understand why Rob and Cheryl knew last night they were going to be safe. Unfortunately this season there is no playing by the rules.
You guys REALLY need to stay off the abc.com message boards. That’s filled with nothing but the dregs of society. I don’t know any Derek fans who actually go there anymore – they prefer intelligent conversations, not trolls slinging mud at any pro who had dared to with the show.
Agreed Heidi, agreed. Seriously. A long time ago, during the first several seasons, I posted on the abc boards but I can’t stand it anymore. The 100 threads of the same thing and the really mean bashing are just too much. And abc’s website always drags too.
That’s true. That place was nice until season 5, maybe 6. after that, became a chaos…
Why would anyone go to the ABC boards? This site PureDWTS is the place to be for all the news and videos for the entire season.. I call it One-Stop Shopping ….
I agree that we need the Kardashians OUT of the audience! I think quite a lot of the escalating rudeness that we’ve seen this season can be traced directly back to them (especially Chloe) leading the audience in booing, shouting over the judges, and generally behaving like they’re munching popcorn at a rowdy sports game. I know Maks pops his mouth about something once ever other season or so, but this season the environment is more uncomfortable than ever. I feel sorry for Rob; he seems like the most decent one out of the bunch and I can’t imagine how awful it must’ve been to grow up in that environment… But Rob, if you really want to prove that DTWS has “made you into a man,” speak up and tell your sisters to behave themselves!
