SPOILERS!!! DWTS Season 13, Week 7 – The Results!
Well, another week, another bummer elimination. :::sigh:::
David and Kym left the ballroom tonight and I’m afraid that was the unkindest cut. Neither Hope nor Nancy deserves to make the semi-final based on ability, compared to David, and now at least one of them is going to make it there. But, that’s the name of the game and, like both Courtney and I worried, it’s not just about getting votes, but it’s what happens when you get relatively few votes. David had faded into the woodwork recently and that’s a more dangerous place than being last.
As a reminder, Nancy needed a little more than 10k votes more than David per million votes cast – not a huge number, all things considered. Since she was in the real bottom two, and was the low scorer, that meant that she and Tristan couldn’t clear any of the margins except David’s.
P.S. I had the hardest time picking between David and Nancy – and damn if those two weren’t the OFFICIAL bottom 2 (note to Macmanicas – that was a REAL bottom two, reign in the cocky). But I picked wrong (again) and Courtney picked right – and we’re both depressed about it.

Did you see Ricki’s twitter page from earlier today? Someone went after her for not supporting Hope when Maks “physically abused” her. Ricki responded,” FYI you don’t see everything that goes on in rehearsals and behind the scenes”. I wonder if that meant that they did say something to Maks. Maybe that’s why he’s so quiet now.
Actually if going by the numbers & saying that 5 million votes were cast in total, would that not mean that Nancy got almost 50,000 more votes than David to stay? According to how it is broken down here that is what has to happen, cause you are saying she needed 10,240 more votes per million so say that was x5million votes cast in total, makes it 50,000 more than David right?
Yes Nancy was the bottom 2 but only because she had such low scores, say she was higher marked & not the bottom of the leaderboard, I say then she would not have been bottom 2.

I would wager that, based on what Ricki has said in the media and in watching how she is as a person, she did say something. I DO find it interesting though that fans of the person who committed the foul (Maks) are doing whatever they can to twist it back on to someone else – in this case Ricki. It’s quite pathetic. And transparent. And disgusting.
Lisa, that math just made my head hurt.
I was pretty sure she had a bigger fan base than David, but not so sure she has a bigger fan base than Maks and Hope so I’m concerned for her next week.
When they revealed the actual bottom 2, I thought one of two things would happen: 1) JR would be in the other bottom two with Nancy and Tristan leaving, and JR’s fans scared into voting like mad next week. Or 2) David would be in the bottom two with them and Nancy and Tristan would be safe.
I do feel bad. David was growing on people, and he was improving. I thought Nancy was as well, until the jive. Now…either she or Hope is going next week, I think. But even as a die-hard Tristan fan, I’m an even more die-hard DWTS fan. The final three should be the best dancers, and in this case, it’s JR, Ricki and Rob. May the best one win.
Hope and Maks still seem so tense. I think she’s trying to make the best of things, but Maks has just checked out. I really wish they had been the ones to go just because it’s uncomfortable, for me at least, to watch them (really just him) anymore.
Tough night all around. And I don’t intend to sound cocky (I sure hope I don’t). Yes, the fans voted Nancy and Tristan through, but if their dancing and scores don’t get better, not even fan support will help.
And yes, please Lord, give Derek an Emmy. Good grief… he’s been the bridesmaid long enough!

Oh, lisa, there is so much conjecture in there it’s almost not worth discussing. ALL it means is that Nancy got 10k more votes than David per million votes cast. It could easily mean that David got 10 votes and Nancy got 10,010 – there is no way of knowing. She was NOT higher scored because she is NOT a great dancer. Therefore, she will likely be in the bottom two AGAIN. That’s how the show works.
Saying “50 thousand” sure sounds like a lot, but the fact is, there was a ONE PERCENT difference between her and David – that’s all she had to over come. Not a huge margin. The number of votes actually cast does not change that margin – it’s still a percentage.
Even though I didn’t vote for her Im glad Nancy survived. I still think Hope shoulda went with her overscored individual dance. Unless Nancy does really bad Hope isn’t gonna fair well with her training for soccer on top of everything. David seemed nice but when he got excited I had a very hard time understanding him.
ED: Did anyone else catch Tom say Chelsie’s album instead of Justin’s? I say next season axe Lacey and bring back Chelsie.

Heidi, are you ever correct. Give Derek and Allison an Emmy for performance, and I’m guessing Derek did the choreography, but I don’t remember them saying that. (Allison is SYTYCD, Season 2, and a recurring All-Star since then.) My wife and I thought that was the best Argentine Tango we have ever seen.
Next week should be a battle between the fan bases of Nancy, the Kardashians, and Hope/Maks. Hopefully JR and Ricki will escape unscathed.
M, I’m happy to see Nancy and Tristan through, but still sad to see David go -it’s not mutually exclusive in this case, but he’s the better dancer, period.
M, no I don’t think so. Before the show, I was NOT a Nancy Grace fan. I did not like her judgmental style on her show or her willingness to let the justice system work its course regardless of the outcome.
However, I really saw another side of her on this show, and you can really tell she wants to be there. Unfortunately, like Chaz and Carson, not the best dancer, but then, neither is Hope, and Nancy is endearing herself to the fans far more than Hope and Maks are this season.
So I was very happy to see her go through, although very sad to see David go. In many ways, his growth has been equal to or more than some of the others this season.
But someone’s gotta go each week as Bruno said. And I think both Nancy and Hope’s weeks are numbered. Now that David is gone, (someone TPTB clearly wanted to stick around), I’m thinking TPTB think Rob is a good thing for the third spot.
I wish we weren’t all tarred with the same brush.
My hope for the coming week is peace. I wouldn’t be sad to see Maks and Hope leave next week if this week is peaceful for them. Y’know? Girlfriend has come a long way, but she’s not a dancer. If I’m objective, Hope, Nancy and Rob all have positives and all have negatives as dancers and I think they’re about equal when I total them up.
And I loved all the dancing tonight! Not the singing, but the dancing! It was AMAZEBALLS!
My wife just said that Derek did do the choreography – give him two Emmys!
I figured david was going home, so color me not surprised…he never seemed to have a large fanbase and he was in that middle forgetable area.
HOLY CRAP…that Derek and ALlison routine…im guessing derek choreographed the whole thing, so good job to him for that, but DAMN ALLISON HOLKER…my eyes never left her, and derek was shirtless! Chick is amazing
does anyone know what that song/music during the tango was? I’d love to buy.
Lee, they put a big emphasis on Derek in the introducing and pimping of that dance, so I would be curious to know how much of that was Allison. They said it came from “Derek Hough” – don’t think they even mentioned Allison’s name in the bumper, did they??

I was sorry to see David go, but I have to admit that sometimes his goofiness was a little creepy. I am sure that being on this show will revive his career.
Maks looked a little happier and more relaxed tonight. Maybe things will improve with him and Hope after going through this rough patch. I am hoping that he has learned something from all this. We will see next week.
Well, next week is going to be one hell of a battle, isn’t it? lol. I’m not surprised to see David go, but I wish it was Nancy.
After reading all these rave reviews regarding Derek’s dance, I can’t wait to watch on the West coast here

As for the results, I’m glad Nancy pulled through.
Sarah, I think it’s going to be interesting next week. IMHO, the thing that saved Hope this week is that the judges scored her high enough to overcome Nancy’s low scores, but large fan base. Plus David clearly wasn’t pulling the votes.
If her packages are as bad next week as they have been the last couple of weeks, then I fear for her.
We’re traveling next week, but will be at our hotel well in time to see the show. I’ve already told my husband we’ll have to dine early so I can get back to the room and watch.
Sad to see David leave! Imo, thought he would be the 3rd team in the finals. Rob, imo will be taking the 3rd spot now. Was hoping that Maksim and Hope were going to take their final bow tonight, but I guess I’m on Halloween overload from last night, give all my treats to the masked little ones who came knocking at my door,and I got tricked tonight!
I liked David’s joke at the end referencing Maks. He left on a good note though
I’m truly disgusted with Maks. The way he has treated his partner, Hope, all season long is nothing less than abusive. I’m so tired of his predictable choreography which is all about Maks moving fast with his big strides around the dance floor. It seems like he always designs his dances so he can portray some kind of disco alpha male. He doesn’t seem to choreograph for his partner, to make HER shine and look beautiful. He is a disturbed and angry egomaniac. I’m tired of his delusional narcissicm and want him replaced with someone who will do more for their partner.
It was so strange because I felt people already knew that David was going to be eliminated earlier in the day because of speculation that he was going to be in GMA and Kym’s really sad sounding blog. =(
I am really sad to see David go too. He definitely improved since the beginning of the competition and it was always so adorable seeing Coco blowing kisses to her father after he finished dancing. I know that this has been a super positive experience for him and I think he got what he wanted from the show, which was to show people who he really was and not who the media portrayed him to be. He got and prob will get a lot of positive PR from this show.
Ok now… Ricki and JR fans, we have to step up to the plate next week and protect our favorites. I don’t want another Bristol experience and have a lesser dancer eliminating the stronger dancers on the show. We gotta step up our game people!!! LOL!

Heidi I get what you are saying about the votes but it still has to mean simply that if just saying there were 10 million votes in total cast last night……..Nancy got 100,000 more than David in order to stay.

Eh have you watched this season at all? Most of the good dancers are already home.
And I got news for ya. The only person Bristol robbed on her season was Brandy. She was better than Kurt Warner, Florence, The Situation, Moo Cho, Michael Bolton, and Hasselhoff and Rick Fox and Audrina put the BO in BOrrrrrrrrring. Sick and tired of Bristol constantly mentioned when Chaz, Hope, and Nancy robbed most of their cast this year. Atleast Bristol worked her way from 6′s to 9′s and wasn’t a drama queen like Hope!

Adam, the only reason Rob got a 9 is because Carrie Ann likes him and, yes, I absolutely agree with you that the both Maks and Hope have cult-like fans so it wouldn’t surprise me to see them in the finals. I’m going to stay positive and count on them being out next week though. If they do make it, the judges will step in, make no mistake about it.
I hate to break it to ya, but all the dancers have cult-like fans. As do the celebs, really.
Adam, is it possible for you to post any comments without sounding so damn combative? The way you post is incredibly off-putting – asserting your own opinions as fact, implying that the rest of us are dumb by saying shit like “Y’all realize that, right?”, and making insulting generalizations like “Maks’ weird obsessive fans”. Hell, I’m not even a Maks fan & I’m offended. Find a better, less aggressive way to post – maybe throw in a few “I think”s or “I believe”s? – or I’ll start editing your posts myself.
Say what you will about David’s dancing, but I’m sad that he’s gone & wanted him in the finale for the simple reason that I thought he’d put in the effort & would put on a good show. At this point, I’m convinced that the 3rd person in the finale likely won’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell against JR & Ricki, so it may as well be someone I find amusing…hence my choice of David. But now that he’s gone, I guess I’m endorsing Rob – I don’t think Nancy or Hope can handle the pressure of the finale, and they aren’t nearly as good as Rob.

Guys, I mentioned this in another thread, but am bringing it up here since people are talking about it. The camp that is opening up next week is for a friendly against Sweden Nov. 19. Hope does NOT have to be there for the whole thing. She was called up obviously because she’s the goalkeeper on the Women’s National Team. She would probably show up 2 days before and then play in the friendly, but that won’t be until Week 10 of the show. The camp for the Olympics starts in December and by then the show is over.
I’m sorry, but I think it’s crazy to say Nancy and Rob are any better than Hope right now. Not sure what you guys are watching. I think Rob and Hope and Nancy are probably even, but I don’t think the judges think that. Rob gets over-praised because Carrie-Ann is confusingly obsessed with him or his family, I have no idea. If Len was obsessed with Hope, Hope would be getting over-praised as well. They ALL have improved in different areas and in different ways. I think it probably is a battle for 3rd place between Rob and Hope to be honest.
Also, remember that Nancy has the toughest dances left. Rob still has the Samba and I think the Quickstep. Hope has what looks like the best she could get, since she just did Paso, and I think she has the Quickstep.
Most of all, I just want this drama to just chill. Everybody needs to move on from this and stop focusing SO much on one couple, Hope and Maks. We all thought they were going to go this week because of the Derek and Shannon Elizabeth thing, and now they will be back next week. Let’s just hope we can just focus on the dances, no more theme weeks, hopefully good songs, and improved dancing.
Oh and Derek and Allison, WOW! Seriously, that dance just rocked the house!
You can move on from the drama if you’d like DWTS. Maks deserves to get booted for his nasty behavior. Hope has also been overscored and I think at this point Rob can take her. I sure hope so. Oh, and darn about that camp thing.
DWTS: The only way to get “over this drama thing” is by Maks leaving IMO.

Yes, Rob was maybe 1 point overscored, but Hope was even more overscored. No way did that samba deserve 3 8′s.

Oh, also I think Hope and Maks shared a cute moment after they were safe. Maks was very nice to Nancy also. I personally feel that the rehearsal with Teddy and with Derek probably made Maks feel pretty bad. Like what Courtney mentioned in the other thread, I mean maybe he felt like they looked better than him and that would make anybody sad. It looks like they were both happy to be safe and I hope it works out for them for next week.
By the way, after one of the performances tonight, I think the first, and always after Hope and Maks’ performances, they always show people in the front row, and one of the guys they always show is Hope’s boyfriend Adrian (think they are on and off, however he is a big part of her life) and one of her agents, Whitney. You can also see Whitney standing behind them when they are on the red carpet. She is signed with a very good company, and has a great agent, for 10 years. Whitney is under that agent and goes with her to most events and handles interviews, appearances, etc. They are all there always as they are based in L. A. If anything weird was going on, you better believe these guys would be on it and stuff would get straightened out. There is no way Adrian is just going to sit there front row like it’s all cool if it isn’t.
I still think their rehearsals were a way to make Maks look bad and were very scripted and staged. They made it look like she just met Teddy, when she has been friends with Teddy all season, and there’s paparazzi video of Maks driving Hope and Teddy to rehearsal.
I am just going to pray for a week with no drama and let’s see how it goes next week!
DWTS, you make some good points. I am going to move on and concentrate on the positive points of the show. I also hope for less drama next week.
Katarina and Gitte, I respect your opinions, but I happen to think Hope and Maks’ Samba was fine. It was one of my favorite dances actually. I personally think she is even with Rob, and like I said earlier, there are things they have both improved upon. Rob is by no means a bad dancer, but to say he is so much better than Hope is way too far of a reach in my opinion.
I think it will depend on how they do in the next weeks obviously. I think Nancy has improved, but she has to fight against her dances coming off boring or forgettable, and she does move very slowly. Hope needs to work on, like Courtney pointed out, straightening her legs and things like that.
I think the judges comments to each other after Hope and Maks went to get their scores were good and makes me think they liked her dance. The problem is are they going to be able to look past the Maks thing if she does improve.
I still say it’s anybody’s game between Rob, Hope, and Nancy for 3rd place, and I know they will all try their best next week.
Why do Maks’ and Hope’s fans make excuses for the way he pushed and whipped her around. Did you hear the involuntary gasp that came out of her and how she was holding back tears. Edited, yes, but scripted and staged my ass. Gitte is right, they should be kissing the judges’ behinds this week. Ironically, DWTS, I was holding back about your couple until I read your essays telling people to chill and excusing and enabling bad behavior.

Hope and Maks are not my couple. I am just commenting like everybody else. I personally think that a lot of what they say in rehearsals is staged and scripted. I also think if Hope wanted to show just how tough of a chick she is, she would have. She has people all around that represent her, are always there, her boyfriend, these people would be stepping up if something was really going down.
If you follow or watch soccer, goalkeepers are the toughest on the field. Hope has karate chopped girls down on the soccer field. She most certainly can karate chop anybody I am sure if she wanted to. She is not weak, she can stand up for herself and then some. I think they stage and script a lot of stuff. I don’t like how they showed Hope and Maks, don’t get me wrong. But I just don’t treat Hope like she’s a weak person that hasn’t knocked out some people on the soccer field before.
I DO NOT like Maks’ teaching style. I think he needs to change it to fit who he’s teaching. I just think if something was that serious, he would not be there.
Sad to see David leave! He seems like such an honest, genuine person and he really was getting better. Hope and Maks….I’m not even going to bother saying it again this week – UGH! And I ‘ve really tried, but I just can’t get into Rob no how.. I really hope that Nancy & Tristan can pull a rabbit out of a hat and stay in now. Being a new viewer to the show – can someone tell me who decides what the Stars wear? Wardrobe alone could sabotage Nancy’s chances based on that last jive outfit. I couldn’t really tell you how she danced – I was distracted by the ghastly outfit. I think a really unflattering outfit is a serious handicap to a performance. I realize some body types present challenges, but they could have done better than that -even something as simple as darker leggings?! But the red hair was cute!

Thanks Gitte! I think her best look by far was the long straight blonde hair with the medieval long lines to the gown that she wore for the “always look on the bright side of life” dance…which was also their highest score I think? That costume wouldn’t work for a jive obviously! But poofy, short skirts just aren’t good on her.
Are they doing insta-dances this year? If so I think Itd be a disaster fo Hope, Nancy, and Rob.
I just wanted to say also, that I agree with some of what Courtney mentioned in her other post about Maks possibly being jealous of Teddy. I think Maks mentioned something where he basically said that he stopped focusing on the fun part of the show and was too serious, and he is now going to turn that around.
Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Hope somewhat was purposely trying to make Maks jealous by showing how well she was getting along with Teddy. You never really know because it is something that sometimes a woman may try to do on purpose if she sees it getting to the other person. This could have been one of the things to make Maks upset. I could be totally wrong, and again editing is probably playing a part in it as well. Now that I think about it, Maks probably just felt bad because he couldn’t have fun because he wasn’t letting himself.
Hope and Maks make me think of when you are working with your brother or sister and they are all serious when you’re working and you’re just trying to get them to be themselves. They feel like they can have fun in their off time and are all business. Outside of work, you guys have fun and it’s more of the brother/sister relationship.
I actually think Hope is funny and likes to laugh and have fun, be silly, and that’s what we saw with Teddy, that’s actually who she probably is with Maks outside of rehearsal. Such a weird dynamic.
I just hope all the couples work it out this week, and just bring a good energy and spirit to the last shows this season. I am going to treat people the way I would want to be treated as far as from an opinion standpoint and try to understand and put myself in other people’s shoes. God will take care of the rest.

well…David kind of got lost in the middle of the crowd…no drama…average dancing…that’s bad…but somehow it felt like he expected it…the tweeted too before the show…something sounding like a thank you and a good bye. and it felt like he had his farewell speech prepared. if everything stays the actual course the final three will be Ricki, JR and Rob.

@Reduction – I think Tom did mention the insta-dances last night. So I think they are having them. But I was only channel surfing last night, once I saw Justin Beiber I was no longer interested.
I guess I am one of the few that is not on the Derek Love Train. I like him he is just not one of my favorites on the show.

You are correct, I rewatched it this morning and Tom clearly says “Derek Hough with Alison Holker” just after the dance.
That was one tremendous dance; it gets better on each rewatch. I wonder how long they’ve been working on it, especially with moving around the musicians.
@Sandy- They are doing instant dances. Hope mentioned they have the instant jive next week. It’s what they’ve normally done where they get the music that night. It’s not like the WTA cha cha or anything. =]
I’ve never been a huge Derek fan, I like the guy but not as much as others, but I do have to say his dance with Allison last night was amazing! Definitely Emmy worthy!
Sometimes the good-byes get cut or rushed but David’s was nice. And I liked how Tom told him that he DID accomplish his goals and would be back in 2 weeks anyway. I only hope, now that he’s back in the real world, he doesn’t run off the rails.
Not a surprise. I think Nancy has this underdog aspect to her and lets face it: nobody expected to reallyl ike her on the show but she really has proven she ism ore than just a tough edged court news/law news person. David made me laugh though.
DWTS – the reason they “scripted” Maks introducing Teddy to Hope was for the benefit of the audience. Hope might know who he is but many of the viewers most likely don’t. That doesn’t mean that EVERYTHING is scripted. You really think they told Maks to storm out during rehearsal for a group dance? You really think Maks was taking direction when he hit Hope and roughly forced her down? And do you really think that Hope is that good of an actress to fight back fake tears while Derek is helping her learn the moves?
I guess they told Maks to go off on the judges the week before also, right? Please.
Maks is in a downward spiral. He embarrassed himself by attacking Len, then calling it “his show,” and trying to get in a pissing match with Derek. I think it boiled over when he was frustrated with Hope and he was too rough with her in front of others and the camera. He’s just digging a deeper and deeper hole, all the while saying he doesn’t regret anything and 30 years from now he will look back and feel happy about his time on the show. Whatever. He’s taken a big blow to his ego – through his own actions, mind you, and he’s not handling it well. And the person who is unfortunately being hurt by this is Hope. He should publicly apologize to her.
Yes, they are doing the instant dances again – which I mentioned over a week ago in my “What’s Left to Dance?” post. So far, I’ve been told Ricki’s instant dance is the samba; no word yet on the other instant dances. However, everyone also has a regular ballroom dance – Ricki & JR have slow waltz, Rob has the quickstep, and Nancy has the tango. Don’t know Hope’s dance yet, but I think it has to be waltz or quickstep, because those are the only ballroom dances she has left.
If we’re going by process of elimination, then the instant dances should be as follows:
Ricki – samba
JR – cha-cha or paso doble
Nancy – samba
Rob – samba
Hope – paso doble
However, I don’t think they’ve ever had an instant paso doble (which is harder to do to random music), so I’m inclined to think JR’s instant dance is probably cha-cha and I’m wondering if Hope’s paso might get swapped out for a salsa. But this is just me totally guessing.

Jesus, Lisa – you’re not getting it. It’s a PERCENTAGE. Yes, she got more votes than David – but if David is getting NO VOTES then Nancy only needed a little more than 10k to stay. It’s kinda like getting a D in math and yelling “I beat you!!” to the kid who got an F – you win, but not exactly a great accomplishment.
There is NO WAY of knowing how the voting is going. The only thing we can be relatively certain of is that Nancy got at least 10k more than David, but didn’t even cover the margin for JR and she only needs under 4k. That’s ALL we know.

DWTS – no, we didn’t “all think Maks and Hope were going” this week. Most thought David because he was disappearing in the drama. Hope had a high enough score to give her some protection – possibly protection she doesn’t need. Hard to say since we don’t know how the voting is going.
Rob IS A BETTER DANCER THAN HOPE. Not because he is a genius, but because HOPE CAN’T DANCE. I don’t think I can make it any plainer than that – you telling me otherwise *constantly* is not going to change my opinion. She’s been consistently over scored while Nancy has actually been scored somewhat appropriately.
As for the drama – Hope’s fans continually come in here and post long ass theses about her and how she’s a great dancer and how poor Maks is just understood. You want the drama to end, STOP POSTING. You’re not changing minds, you’re just dragging it out. And guess what else?? I don’t give a rat’s fat ass about soccer. If you wanna talk soccer, take it elsewhere.

Holy Sh..!!! I didn’t see the results show and just now saw Derek and Allison’s dance (thanks purederekhough!) and I am now on the I love Derek bandwagon! I have always appreciated what he does for his stars, thought he was a phenomenal dancer and choreographer and loved loved loved his partnership with Nicole. But wasn’t a fanatic about him. Well, now I am. I hope for him, he has a successful movie career if that’s what he wants, but I sure hope he keeps dancing. Wow!!!
Did anybody closely watch Hope’s dancing last night when team Paso was asked to do the encore performance? She seemed like a different person when the only reason for the performance was the love of the dance. Perhaps this is the quality level that Maks was referring to when he said that her dress rehearsals were better than her on-camera performances. Her body seemed more relaxed into the motions last night.
@ Lee #59 Derek said to Access Hollywood that they created and rehearsed that dance in 2 nights. Last Wed and Thurs night they were both tweeting about this dance.
Seriously, whoever is voting for Nancy needs to stop. That Jive deserved 5s, she’s painful to watch.

I’m a fan of Tristan, and I saw his face last night. He was not happy about staying. Either he is wonderfully grounded and knows they don’t deserve to still be there and felt bad about David going instead of them or he just doesn’t want to be stuck with Nancy for another week.
I too think Nancy’s jive deserved 5s. I’ve recently been re-watching other seasons and the dances that got 15-18 were about the same level IMO as Nancy… perhaps then we would still have David and Kym and their precious partnership
I will have to go back and watch it again but I am fairly sure that Rob and Cheryl had a lift. She jumped on Karina and JR twice this season about a lift. I think Carrie Anne has a thing for Rob, you can definitely tell when she has a favorite. Rob and Cheryl have been overscored more than once, and I am starting to think The Kardashians must have some kind of pull with the show. Overscoring them to help get them to the finals.
Also, while I loved the actual dance between Allison and Derek and love to see Allison dancing in any capacity on my TV screen the absolute ridiculousness of having Derek dance another showcase piece from him and his talents so soon after the “OHMIGOD its DEREK and JULIANNE dancing together AGAIN on our stage OHMIGOD” dance is just a little hard for me to stomach. Since he is still a competing pro, I feel like its giving him even more producer and judges support over the remaining stars and their pros since he is pimped during the results show as well as performance shows. YMMV but I would have preferred to see that performance at the finale results show when all the voting and judging is said and done.
Okay, Katy, now I have a response.
Tristan and Nancy have a great partnership. If you ever watch them in interviews or in their thank-you videos, it’s fairly obvious they like to have fun and tease each other. Secondly, Tristan, IMO, didn’t look disappointed, just stunned. I’m sure he and Nancy were both incredibly surprised not to be eliminated. Also, Tristan’s fairly close with all the cast, and just as losing Carson was a tough blow to the cast, so is losing David.
You’re welcome to your opinion but please don’t insinuate “drama” where there clearly is none.
FYI, I also thought their jive was overscored. However, I thought Hope was overscored as well, and has been for the bulk of the season. Tristan’s and Nancy’s scores were in line with others of the night.

I do agree with Katy. I think that Nancy’s jive would have trashed if it were earlier in the competition. I like Tristan bunches, but I had a hard time watching too.
LOL! Derek is doing “another showcase piece”?? If that were true I would say THANK YOU BABY JESUS for relieving us from the joys of seeing Val in every single pro dance this entire season. Hell, I was even happy as hell to see Mark and Tony, if it meant a break from Val.
But besides all that, let’s have a little reality check here. The pro dances like the one Derek did last night with Allison are ones that ANY PRO can do if they come up with the idea and submit it to the producers. ANY pro. Derek used to be in very few, if any, pro dances during the season – but when he does them, they are spectacular. Clearly, his season off was a welcome break for him because that dance was amazing. As for the dance with Julianne – Derek was really hesitant to do it, but was pretty pressured into it, IMO. In most interviews, Derek kept making it sound like it might not happen. Besides that he’s had what? The dance with mark and Charm? Hardly a constant showcasing.
But let’s say you’re right and they are show casing him and getting him to do pro dances. Why do you suppose that is?? What do they gain from doing that? Hmmmm???
Wow, Derek & Allison, what a steamy, sassy Argentine Tango(flamenco) performance! They were fantastic together and really compliment each other. I love seeing the passion flow through Derek’s face and body! He’s a purist in the art of dance and Allison is pretty darn fantastic too!! Nice to see Cobu stars performing together on DWTS! Hope to see them dance again one day. Derek respects her talents as well.
I really hope Derek gets an Emmy nomination for his Psycho performance with Ricki and this performance with Allison. It’s time he won!!
On a sad note, sorry to see David go. He did a great job and was definitely having fun. I’m still laughing when I think of him dancing with that skeleton behind Brooke!-Hilarious!

I truly did not mean to offend anybody with my comment. As stated, I loved the dance and did not want to turn my tv off- i just thought it might have been more appropriate at the end of the season since he is still a competing pro. This is a problem with the producers and how they chose to handle this dance as opposed to other ones. I also have a problem with the constant VAL VAL VAL being thrown in our faces too but since he was not featured in this results show, I didn’t bring him up. I think Derek’s and Allison’s choreography was truly awesome- I just had a slight problem with the timing; again sorry for any offense!

I saw the original article, that the one you linked to was based from, and honestly, I read it and laughed. There is so much wrong with it, and I am not getting into all of the fallacies right now because it’s getting fairly late where I am.
However, I do think that the original writer used some innuendos and fallacies and rumors that have been out there, and twisted enough to make it seem as if everything could be true.
And honestly…. I COULD hear, in my mind, Derek saying that…. Quickly followed by a laugh and “no, I’m just joking”.
I think what makes opinions interesting is that everybody has their own perspective on things. I would say right now that I like Nancy/Tristan, Hope/Maks, and I like Derek but not sure how I feel about Ricki, I like J.R./Karina as well.
Sorry but I am familiar with a lot of information about the contestants, doesn’t make me a fan of one one way or the other. I could probably talk your ear off about basketball, but doesn’t mean I was a fan of Ron Artest. I was just clearing up the info about a soccer camp that some people were obviously not aware of. Does that make me a soccer fan?
I still don’t really see the hype with Rob. I think he’s a nice guy and I have seen a different side of him. However, he still looks somewhat stompy and stiff to me. I also do not think he and Cheryl have much of a chemistry or connection other than a brother/sister thing going. She looks very disinterested sometimes. I think they are fine for where they are, but I would put him even with Hope right now. I don’t know, that’s just me.
I just rewatched the team paso rehearsal and I do think some things are very exaggerated. Maks moves Hope’s shoulders into whatever position/place they are supposed to be in, and her back does not even move. She does not even really move. Then he spins her around because he’s going through the Paso Doble choreo. He did the same thing on the dance floor. It’s the part of the dance where he swings her around and she slides on the floor. This part of the choreo is done with a lot of strength I guess. I have NO problem with someone doing something in rehearsal that they would do on the dance floor or the way that they would do it on the dance floor. That’s the point of practice. The Paso is a very intense dance. It just looks so heavy of a moment because they cut straight to the strongest/toughest part of their routine, him swinging her around. My issue is with HOW he teaches her. He was basically moving her through the routine because she still hadn’t learned the choreo or was still picking it up. I saw when she said Stop being you, as in meaning his usual impatient, not-a-good-teacher self. Hope said she is a visual learner, and so maybe it helps her to see what Maks wants to do first, instead of him moving her through the choreo first.
We have no idea when the paparazzi video of her was, before or after, what were they talking about? It’s just something we can assume.
I still think if there was a serious problem, Hope’s people, agents, coaches, boyfriend, friends, teammates, family, everybody who is there every day would step up. Hope’s boyfriend is with her every week at her trailer. If something was up, we would have heard of him telling Maks something, I would think. Again, I know this because I follow what goes on, not because I’m such a big fan. I know that Khloe and Lamar went to visit Rob at his trailer, and I’m not a Rob fan, even though I think he’s an ok dancer.

I thought Nancy and Tristan looked relieved they weren’t going home. Tristan has come out of his shell a lot since the season began. We can probably thank Nancy for this since she has a way of making people respond to her.
DWTS: Many a strong woman has been in an abusive relationship. Yes, women as strong as Hope; I have seen it with my own eyes. They can be super tough with most everything in their lives, and then take all sorts of crap when it comes to their personal relationships. So to say that if Maks was being abusive Hope would have put him in his place or said something to someone is more than likely not true. Its sad that people think strong women can’t be taken advantage of too. As for his pushing her around, that is completely unnecessary in Paso Doble or any other dance. That is NOT normal; I know at least 50 people(from beginners to intermediates) who take lessons and have NEVER experienced anything like that from their pro partners, even when training for big competitions. I don’t know of any amateur dancer who would accept that type of behavior; if they did, they would definitely be the minority.
On a totally different topic, I think its kind of funny how people get “sick” of seeing a pro dance. As a social and competitive (when money allows) ballroom dancer, I confess that I watch the show for the sole purpose of seeing the pros dance. So be it Derek or Val or Louis or any of the pros, I am super happy to see them do a pro dance. Heck, I’m just super happy when ballroom dancing comes on tv at all; I’ll take whatever I can get!
Katy, with all due respect…are you crazy? Tristan is having fun! Honestly…having Nancy only ups his profile in the USA. His expression was one of SHOCK! Probably because he knows david danced better and that he should have stayed. If you saw the clip of nancy & tristan coming from backstage after their dance, nancy told Tristan, ‘You know we’re toast, right?” Tristan was saying, “Don’t..don’t.” He meant he didn’t want her to get down about the performance. Are you a new viewer? ALL the couple gets stressed ESPECIALLY as of week 6 as they do 2 dances and more training hours. I think they have a nice relationship. I’m sure Tristan was shocked that Kymmie went home
Also, if he has watched the show (sure he has lol), then he knew he’d get backlash the likes of Bristol, Gosselin, etc. he’s handling it well….since he’s been saying things similar to what Mark had to say. Which is what he should do to protect and defend his partner. Plus, I think he’s realizing how big Nancy’s fan base is.
Oops! Forgot to say that I’m loving how Tristan has come into his own this season. I’m sure it could get irritating dealing with a strong-willed woman like Nancy, but he seems to be handling it beautifully. It seems to me that overall he has enjoyed his first season. He is getting good with stopping her in her tracks in the middle of a rant with some funny comment. And he seems very supportive and kind in his dealings with a beginner; I think he would be a fantastic teacher to many different types of people, so I hope they have him on the show for future seasons.
I cannot get Mak’s treatment of Hope out of my mind. It’s like a bad hangover. My soul was just violated when I saw how he manhandled her when Team Paso was rehearsing. Does anyone that read Puredwts think that the DWTS producers are saying anything to Maks about how toxic (and counterproductive-DUH) his “training” style is? I have watched every season and I don’t recall anything like this before. I do remember pros or contestants saying things like “I think it will be between-and then they’d mention 2 or 3 contestants”. It just seems so unfair to remaining couples, because I think their opinions sway many regular viewers. I think it makes (viewers) think the others don’t deserve it, that they are being given behind the scenes info or something…..what do you think ????
Nah, it’s fair to ask their fans to vote for JR. Why not?? And it does happen every season. People asked their fans to vote for Evan during Nicole’s season and some asked them to vote for Jennifer during her season. It always happens. I’m sure several asked that their fans vote for Hines. Not a big deal.

I think people should vote for whom they want. I think J.R is a good dancer and Karina is wonderful. Ricki to me has the advantage because she has by far the best choreographer.

I don’t know, it just doesn’t seem like professional coutesy especially when they know how hard everyone has to work. I also think some don’t realize the power they have JUST by opening their mouths on national tv.
I would loooove to see Karina win, just not against Derek and especially since Ricki is doin such a good job. I would still love to know what happened but to me she and Ralph shouldda won last season. They were leaps and bounds better than the others and very entertaining. Also think she did some of her best choreography with him.

I say that the people who are swayed by what Chaz and/or David are suggesting are probably in the minority – they’re most likely the fanatics that idolize either of those two enough that they’d actually think to themselves “David says to vote for JR, so by golly, I’m gonna vote for JR!” Sometimes I think some fans are dedicated enough that they’d assassinate a head of state if their favorite pro asked them to…*SMH*. But anyway, yeah – I think the average viewer is probably not going to be very swayed by the suggestions of other pros/contestants but even if they are? Big deal. This show is partially a popularity contest, so if someone’s popular with their fellow contestants, odds are they’re probably popular with the general viewing audience, too.
And there have been MANY seasons where certain couples asked their fans to vote for another specific couple, Mimi – I remember Brandy & Maks encouraging their fans to vote for Kyle during season 11, and I think Pam may have suggested her fans vote for Erin in season 10.

Of course there are people that care. I do believe however that this has been made into something that it is not. It was NOT nice to see Hope and Maks like that, and it looks like they both know that and understand they have been way too stressed and serious and need to calm down. Their interviews show that.
I would suggest if you haven’t to rewatch the video of that team paso doble rehearsal. Upon viewing this again a couple more times, I am starting to play it in my head a little differently. It is not as bad as it originally looked, still bad and not the way a teacher should be, however. Maks needs to change the way he teaches.
I would like to mention also, that Hope has a HUGE group of different individuals with her at every show, at her trailer, throughout the week etc. These people have seen the same stuff we see. One of these people is her boyfriend. I am sure if something needed to be taken care of, he or these other people did. Hope is not just there by herself, she has her people around her every day.
For what it’s worth, I watched Hope and Maks’ rehearsal for their Jive in Week 2. Hope pushes Maks, she also kicks him, and she smacked him at the end of their rumba just last week. In an interview, he is playfully patting her head, she doesn’t appreciate that, so she knocks his hand away and starts patting his head. They look like a brother/sister that fights, to be honest. I am just making a point that she has been very strong in how she treats him and their relationship from the beginning. Hope actually gives me the impression of a person that doesn’t run away from conflict or confrontation, and like the type of person that isn’t afraid of a fight. I could be wrong, but that’s the impression I get.
I am just trying to share and maybe look at a different perspective.
On another topic, Nancy and Tristan make me laugh in their interviews. I do see how it was really cute at first, but to be honest, now he does look kind of like he’s starting just a little bit to get uncomfortable/something with her.
We saw even J.R./Karina have a down week this week, with the arguing in rehearsal and they look somewhat down in their interviews. I think it’s because of their scores/dances, and also because of David/Kym. J.R./Karina’s overall energy/spirit was just different in these interviews. Every couple has ups and downs in a season, so I get that.
Um, where did I say Tristan has wanted out from the start? Reading comprehension skills; you’re failing at them.
PH, my exact same opinion of T&N was all over the TWOP and FORT forums. And the people that post there are much more thoughtful than the ones here. Even if I was the only one with that opinion doesn’t make it invalid, it could just mean I’m more perceptive than others.
Also, Tristan doesn’t strike me as the kind of person who would care so much about upping his profile or more attention, especially if it’s for the wrong reasons. Which is what made him a breath of fresh air on a show full of egos and publicity hos.
At any rate, I’ve wasted enough of my time discussing a reality show on the net. I’m embarrassed to even watch it. I’ve only watched for Hope and JR, but they’re way too good for trash reality tv.

I also just said that they looked different in their interviews after the shows this week. They looked a little down, disinterested, not how they usually look.
I don’t think Maks is at a different happy place now at all, I think he’s being honest that he went down a path he doesn’t think he should have. Have you ever made any mistakes in your life??? They are obviously working past their differences like any other people would.
I am not trying to be mean, but what world do some of you guys live in? Because if you are not there, if you don’t know someone, all you can do is assume and go by stuff that you see and know. But sometimes perception is not reality. Sometimes what we “know” is gossip and false information. I am saying this for anyone, whether we’re talking about Derek, Cheryl, Karina, Maks, anyone.
Somewhere I think that idea must have been lost while everyone just says things like they heard it straight from the cast themselves. Like I said, anything I say, I always make it clear, that it is something I think, or an impression.
Nice try DWTS/Soccer, but, I don’t think so. Believe me….being I’m a huge Maks fan….I’ve tried to justify his behavior. But, the shove is there in back and white and there is no excuse for how he acted.
DWTS – do you read what YOU write before you hit post?? I don’t know that anyone is actually taking you seriously. Now, once again, I’m going to ask you to MOVE ON. You are adding nothing new to the conversation and are just having the same argument with yourself over and over again.
And, stop talking about other people and how they post or I’ll start deleting you just like I did your alter ego, Soccer. NOW.

I’m good with the world i’m living in…i have an opinion – MY opinion since i have a brain and i am not afraid to use it – and it’s only natural that i state my opinions. That’s why we are here. I don’t assume i know any of these people. i barely know myself (and sometimes i even surprise myself) … so no assumptions there.. just discussing what i see. Perception is a subjective process so i don’t feel the need to justify my opinions.
DWTS, I think it’s more of the fact you keep beating a dead horse. You keep talking about an issue that people are over with. Also, I find it a bit funny and ironic that you’re telling someone else to move on, when you refuse to do so.
I’ve looked at this site for awhile, as well as some other sites. The moderators/administrators here are by far a lot friendlier than other sites. They just want people to be polite and respectful, which is nice.
I’m going to continue editing you, DWTS, until you can keep your comments limited to the show and the participants and NOT about the moderators, the site, etc. My next step is to ban you altogether.

Hey DWTS – I love this site and I enjoy reading everyones comments, except yours (and Katy’s)!!! They aren’t comments, they’re short stories, novels! I happen to be a Maks fan, but nothing, nothing can justify his behavior the other night! And , yes, I have watched that clip over MANY times. It never gets any better!
My apologies to Courtney, Heidi and Vogue…I just couldn’t stand it anymore.

I agree. I am actually not a fan of Maks, I prefer people that are a little bit more cheerful and just have a better energy about them.
I think he should apologize and they really need to clear up that situation. What I can’t honestly understand though is why is Maks still on the show though? Especially since he’s always had problems teaching, that’s the only thing that just makes me think what really happened? Are they purposely trying to make it look worse than it really was? If not, shouldn’t they fire him then?
I am really concerned about this, but I understand if nobody wants to talk about it anymore.
DWTS, since you know so much about being “successful”, you are free to start your own blog. Have at it. You’ve worn out your welcome here with forcing your opinions on us, telling us and others how to post, and your insults. When you finally find yourself banned, you’ll know why. I support Heidi 100%.

Guess what, Katy? I work here. As a moderator, I get to tell people when they are being snotty little brats and then delete their comments when they have nothing more to say than criticisms of other people for not agreeing with them. Guess what else – I’ve seen the exact same thing elsewhere. Ever heard the phrase “no discussion about the boards on the boards”? If you are so familiar with TWoP, you would have. You broke that rule several times HERE and if you had done it over there you would have been banned by now. Do it again HERE and you will be banned here as well.
