Early projections for this week show Dancing With The Stars with high ratings again as it was Monday night’s “most watched program.” We will report more on it’s placing next week when all the numbers come in from competing shows.

So, besides Dancing With The Stars, what other TV shows are you watching? I love the X Factor. I was glad to see it renewed yesterday for another season. I am loving Drew the most right now.
I can’t wait for Fringe to return…really bummed that the World Series went to 7 games….and I’m hooked on Once Upon a Time (call me a sucker for fairy tales and Prince Charming’s…) and Modern Family is never a miss. Surprise that it was in the top 20 and it was a repeat last week.
The only one of these(besides DWTS) I watch live is NCIS.
I then watch NCIS: Los Angeles the next day. π
I’m also loving Once Upon a Time! I TiVo it, but I’m hooked already. Also a big Modern Family fan, and I’m loving Person of Interest, great show with great actors.
I used to like NCIS but I kind of got burned out on it, along with all the CSI’s. Haven’t watched XFactor and don’t really plan to. Not really that much into Idol or AGT either.
From this list, I watch TBBT and Modern Family
I have to say, once again – the ratings have NOT actually taken a dip – they’re holding quite steady, if you look at total viewers instead of just rank. And total viewers is what actually counts. π
I have to disagree with you Heidi.
The total viewers doesn’t matter much to the networks.
What matters is the 18-49 demo and the monday show barely made it into the top 25. It is #25 with a 3.2 rating.
The tuesday show had a 2.6
Gitte, the demo wasn’t even in the discussion so your point isn’t in contention. My point was that the numerical standing that Vogue posted and discussed DWTS as being off from is not as important (or important at all) as the total viewers number. The only one talking about the demo is you. If no one cared about the total viewers, websites wouldn’t post them every week and numerous shows wouldn’t use them as a selling point, including DWTS.
Of course the demo is most important to the networks – but DWTS has NEVER been tops in the demo, it always gets beaten by other shows. Nothing new there either. So, when you don’t win the demo, you hang your hat on total viewers.
It wasn’t meant as a personal attack on you Heidi.
I was just commenting on what you said about viewer numbers being what counts.
But yes, when a show doesn’t get the best demo of course they use the viewer numbers for advertising. As a fan of NCIS I know all about that stategy. π
Didn’t think you did, Gitte. Just pointing out that your point wasn’t part of the original discussion. We were talking about “rank” versus total viewers. The demo was beside the point.
You said you were disagreeing with me, when in fact, you were disagreeing with something that was never a part of the discussion.
The part I disagreed with you about was the last bit: “And total viewers is what actually counts.”
To the networks it’s the demo that counts. That was why I mentioned it. π
:::sigh::: The comment “total viewers is what actually counts” is TRUE in the CONTEXT of my comment to Vogue. Period. Didn’t think it was this tough to figure out.
Now I am getting annoyed.
No need to get annoyed. I was just explaining why I mentioned it.
As I wrote earlier: I AGREE with you in that context.
A little shocked to see the world series @ number one to be honest. Stioll baffled as to why two and a half men is still going strong even though Ashton is not nearly as good as Charlie was on the show.
[…] “Two And A Half Men’ is not all that. Dancing With The Stars for the last several weeks has beat this new show out. According to Zap2It via Nielsons TV Ratings, Dancing With The Stars has moved up […]
