DWTS Karina Smirnoff And Ralph Macchio Reunited Again
According to People.com, Karina met up with her former Season 12 partner, Ralph Macchio, and his family to have dinner in New York. You can read more on their dinner at the link as well as seeing a new picture. According to Karina’s tweets, they saw the Jets play as well. The picture above is from Karina’s twitter. So cute. I love Ralph. Speaking of,..recently Ralph has said he’d never do another “Karate Kid” sequel. Instead he is writing a memoir which he will reveal stories about filming The Karate Kid, The Outsiders and My Cousin Vinny. Ralph has also been making State Farm commercials on teenage driving as well as producing a new reality show about Gypsies for the National Geographic Channel to premiere in the Spring. We’ll have to keep a close eye on this one as Ralph touched on a lot of us last season. I still think it was unfair how he was treated by the judges….something I’ll never understand.

Ralph might just be my favorite DWTS contestant of all time. From his first dance I just fell completely in love with him, and with his partnership with Karina. I’d always been sort of cold toward Karina, but began warming to her a bit in seasons 9 & 11…when she was paired with Ralph I became a genuine fan. Love these two!
That judges were totally on crack that season!
Isn’t that the truth!!
I just felt like they HAD to ride the Kirstie train…no matter if she fell, lost a shoe, forgot her dance, couldn’t keep timing, had a crappy freestyle, etc etc.
Some fans thought Kane was PUSHED through as payback for Mark for having to DEAL with Bristol (odd thinking since he keeps saying that she was his favorite partner and it was his most rewarding season/finally fully understanding how his mom felt to teach). It was probably just because she was technically better than Ralph, but he was getting more votes, so she was granted the WTA cha cha cha points to give her a “pass” to the finals.
I personally would have liked to have seen an all male final with Hines, Romeo, and Ralph
!!!
@Sherry – I just felt like they HAD to ride the Kirstie train…no matter if she fell, lost a shoe, forgot her dance, couldn’t keep timing, had a crappy freestyle, etc etc.
My thoughts exactly. But, the Maks and Kirstie pairing was one of my favorites last season. I loved Maks with Kirstie she definitely brought out a much more likeable Maks. However, that didn’t last long….
Ralph got screwed by the judges big time but pay backs this year with Karina winning the MBT. I am sure Ralph is thrilled for her. I loved your pick for your all male final 3.
I totally agree with all of you that Ralph got the shaft. It was apparent that he and Karina mastered and accomplished the most intricate steps far and above Hines, Kane and most certainly Kirstie. I will never understand either the rudeness towards him When just this season the judges fell all over Rob K. He was okay but his footwork could not compare to Ralph’s. He shook his butt more than anyone and I’m guessing it was his only talent. When Ralph did anything of that nature…all the judges pounced on him that it was frenzy, too wild (Len’s comments) and then Bruno’s ugly remarks…made him feel like a fool in front of his family and millions of people. They would have never said that to Kirstie. Everyone has mentioned how horrible they were to him. We will never know why the producers of the show did that. It wasn’t just the judges….I think they get their instructions from higher ups…….Sad the show has no credibility anymore if it ever did.
I love Ralph!! His foxtrot in week one is still one of my favorite dances on this show, and probably my favorite first week dance ever (runner-up week 1 dance goes to Carson.)
Ralph was BY FAR my favorite DWTS contestant of all time, and his treatment by the judges really turned me off the show! I don’t know why it happened, but it became clear at that point that there was something not kosher with how this show operates.
It was obvious during his time on the show that he and Karina had developed a real friendship and not just a TV friendship. It’s nice to see they have managed to maintain that friendship after the show. He brought out the fun, funny side of Karina that viewers never really got the chance to see before.
FYI- on Ralph’s twitter account is a link to a nice sideline interview they did at the Jets game.
