DWTS Karina Smirnoff’s Wedding To Brad Penny Off? Rumor!!!
I wasn’t even going to report on this rumor, but, I’ve noticed a lot of people believing and posting at twitter and elsewhere that Karina’s engagement to Brad Penny is off without thinking about it and instead believing everything they read from the media and internet as “factual”. E Online was the first to report about the engagement being called off (quote from the article below). But, until we hear from Karina or Brad on this themselves, I would take this news with a grain of salt. I mean…why would Karina wear her engagement ring at all (even for a photoshoot) if they weren’t still very much together?
“They are just two different people,” the source says simply.
It’s understandable if Smirnoff, who was doing promotional appearances in Las Vegas over the weekend, didn’t want to make a big deal about it. So is that why she was playing peekaboo with her ring?
Sources tells E! that Smirnoff would wear her engagement diamond during photo ops, but would remove it when the cameras were off.
In my opinion, this is another case (as Heidi keeps stressing) of “don’t believe everything you hear or read” on the internet or in newspapers until you hear it from the sources mouths instead.
Also, just because someone takes off their rings or doesn’t wear them always means something is off. I’m very happily married, but, I don’t always wear my rings because I don’t want them ruined by every day wear and tear.
I totally agree. People jump to conclusions all the time.
Worst part is they can cause so much pain for individuals.
If the media doesn’t have anything new to report, they wouldn’t be in business too long… so let’s start some rumors
Assuming it’s a rumor, I wonder had she not won DWTS that someone would start this rumor!
I live on a farm, am an outdoor girl (typical tomboy). Not only do I not like jewelry but I also don’t want it to get smashed or break a finger and have to have the ring cut off or something! That doesnt mean I am not engaged!
Since I’m the one who pointed this out to you, I feel compelled to comment.
When E! Online first reported it, I ignored it. When TMZ reported, I ignored it. Those two have been wrong as often as they’ve been right.
When Gossip Cop picked it up and gave it a 9, I started to give it more credence. They are known for not substatiating rumours. If they didn’t believe it or have some sort of other info, they would generally give it a 2 if they weren’t sure.
Heck, even the Calgary Herald reported on it!
On the other hand, Karina is tweeting happily away and no mention. But normally, the reps would come out with denials if there was no basis in fact.
The whole world knew Demi and Ashton were going to divorce weeks before she finally announced it, although the circumstances here are very different.
So possibly there is trouble in paradise even if the engagement is still intact.
I don’t know, I was just pointing it out!
Either way, I wish her well. It must be very hard in many ways to live your life in the spot light.
I’m not sure why people care.

Ok, Karina’s engagement is off. What shocks me the most are People’s comments about Karina’s life in these same gossip sites. Why is Karina who is wrong? They say that every time she has a different boyfriend. Since she is in the media, we know that she dated Mario, Maksim and Brad Penny. Each relationship lasted about two years. Why anyone comment about Cheryl, Chelsie or Lacey’s relationships? Never heard they had serious relationships. It’s awful how people like to attack karina.
I’m a big fan of her talent and think people could stop caring about her life and comment more about the great dancer she is. For me, she remains one of the best dancers in the world and I don’t care if she is married or not. I want to see her dancing!

Wishing Karina the best, no matter what is true or not. I love watching her dance and thought that last season was her breakout season. I hope she’s back on season 14 and will last a while. I’d like for her to be happy in her personal life, as well. I feel like Mario Lopez really did a number on her & then she rebounded with Maks…. that didn’t work out & then she got with Brad and seemed very happy for a while. But I check out Brad’s twitter during the season and he had no tweets or pics of Karina … and for a publicly engaged couple, I’d think he ask his followers to support Karina and JR. Anyways, nothing is confirmed yet…
@Elmari – I posted the same thing yesterday, Brads twitter has been Karina-free all season. But hey, people end relationships everyday.
Its funny how the women are judged differently than the men in these scenarios. Nobody knows what happened, so why is Karina taking the heat. Together or not, I wish them both well.
It’s over between her and Brad. Her relationships are always profiled making her look like she’s some runaway bride. I wish her the best as a dancer and her career.

With my knowledge as a baseball fan, and I hate to say it, but Brad is a severely declining pitcher. That might be an extremely difficult ego to live with

A fan tweeted Brad about being sorry for his relationship “problems” and Brad replied, “Thanks Buddy.” He flew to LA at a moments notice when the “rumor” got out. Maybe she didn’t like his recent gal pals that he was hanging out with, or the fact that he only wanted to be in Iowa. Whatever it is it is and the negative, disgusting remarks by people who obviously don’t like her because she split from Maks are uncalled for, especially when they have never met her.
I also noticed a while ago he wasn’t following JR or tweeting to vote for them, as he did previously for Ralph.
Some on twitter CLAIM to have known that it’s been over for a while—-everyone has “sources” LOL
Also, I had figured that since he is now a free agent (no pun intended)–baseball wise, it would be a big deal to wait and see where he ends up playing (if at all). I know they are used to traveling for work, but it still must take some sort of a toll on a relationship to spend most time apart.
Its not like Karina dates a bunch of different guys. These were fairly long relationships that she has been in. Maks the big bully was certainly no prize and still isn’t, I would feel sorry for any woman hooked up with him. Anger management issues.
If its not the right guy, then get going, no sense having a failed marriage or even worse children involved. I always thought Karina could do much better than both Maks and Brad.

She’s in NYC not wearing ring all day….plus supposedly JR gave an interview and said he spoke with her and she’s fine and keeping her head up. He also said some interesting things about how she a great catch for the right guy…who will love her and treat her right….etc etc…..read between the lines??
