Above is a picture from USA Today of Maks and a flash mob surprising The Chew co-hosts this week. This episode with Maks will be airing on ABC today (Thursday). So be sure to tune in if interested. If you miss it, watch this link at The Chew’s official site closely because they will be posting the full episode soon. Below is a little sneak preview…
Thanks to DWTSMaksimFans at twitter for the heads up on the sneak preview. Looks like a fun show for the Maksimistas and the Maksimistos!!

Um Gross!
Just threw up a little,
the Chew is the worst show ever to hit our TV’s, end of story.
That looks like fun. Thanks for letting me know. I’ll check it out online later.
Enjoyed the segment with Maks, he was funny.
Hate, hate, HATE The Chew, but Maks was TERRIFIC!!
Me too, hate the CHEW, but Maks was adorable.
I haven’t watched the Chew enough to see if I hate it, but I love that two people from my favorite shows are together. Carla was a hoot on Top Chef, and I love watching DWTS, both have their dramas and I love how both do their competition based shows.
The Chew? Never heard of it.
I had never heard of this show either until this week, Heidi. lol
The Show that killed All My Children? The Young and The Restless? Whichever ABC soap met its demise this past summer.
Just by name alone, I’d boycott it. *LOL* (It’s same old, same old lifestyle retread stuff though.)
Carla would be match for Maks on the show.
I recognized Michael Symon and Clinton Kelly but who is the other girl?
worst show ever
Perez Hilton’s website says The Chew’s Christmas Show with Maks was the highest rated episode of the show ever. Good for Maks – I had heard of the Chew before (because I like Carla Hall), but had never watched it, and only watched it to see Maks. So Maks and Christmas really helped their ratings. Maybe they should have Maks on as a guest host, or host a semi-regular segment on the show, to see what that does for their ratings.
That’s great….but it kinda depends on what their ratings are in general. Here’s the ratings for the week of December 8, compared with The View, from Zap2it:
* “The Chew” generated its 2nd-most-watched week to date in Women 18-49 (503,000) and Women 25-54 (665,000), climbing by a notable 8% week to week in the key 18-49 sales demo (vs. 464,000).
* In Women 18-49, “The View” (No. 2 – 1.2 rating/749,000), “One Life To Live” (No. 3T – 1.0 rating/666,000) and “General Hospital” (No. 3T – 1.0 rating/651,000) ranked among the week’s Top 3 Daytime programs.
The View is beating it by 250k in the demo. The week Maks was on:
Thursday’s “The Chew” – Featuring Dancer/Choreographer Maksim Chmerkovskiy of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” and an Hour of Last-minute Christmas Rescue Projects and Dishes – is the Show’s #1 Telecast Ever in Total Viewers; Marks 2nd Consecutive Week Delivering a Series High
Thursday’s “The Chew Saves Christmas,” featuring dancer/choreographer Maksim Chmerkovskiy (ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”) and an hour of last-minute Christmas rescue projects and dishes, ranked as the series’ #1 telecast to date in Total Viewers (2.77 million), marking the show’s 2nd consecutive week delivering its #1 telecast.
Impressively, this week marked “The Chew’s” most-watched week on record in Total Viewers, posting its 3rd consecutive week of growth and surpassing “All My Children’s” year-ago weekly average by a solid 10% (2.59 million vs. 2.36 million). Also impressive, along with Friday’s telecast, which ranked as the series’ #3 telecast ever in Total Viewers (2.66 million), “The Chew” has aired 7 of its Top 10 most-watched telecasts to date in the past 2 weeks.
As you can see from the above, The Chew is on a growth arc. The View is the number One show in the demo, but for some reason, I can’t find total viewers to compare with The Chew for Maks’ week or the week of December 8th.
Sorry, numbers nerd here.
Just learned the blonde host is Doctor Oz’s daughter. WOW. She looks great!
the worst show ever ,batali has the charisma of a frog on crack ,carla is hard to watch or listen to ,dr oz daughter is a moron spouting off health tips youd find in good housekeeping,no chemistry bad bad cooking segments absurd antics poor writing and very low production values
