DWTS Online Campaigning For Season 14: Beth Chapman, Marina Sirtis, Greg Louganis

It seems every season we see massive online campaigning for certain celebrities to dance on Dancing With The Stars. Well, season 14 is no different. For instance, I’ve noticed a lot of twitter chat for Beth Chapman (aka @MrsDogC) to dance on Dancing With The Stars. In case you don’t know, Beth is the wife to the “Dog The Bounty Hunter. Below is a recent picture of the two….

Would she be cool? I can see her paired up with Louis.

Another popular celebrity campaign is for Star Trek’s Marina Sirtis! This isn’t a new campaign. Her fans were campaigning hard for her last season as well. She has expressed great interest in doing the show. In fact, below is a quote from Trek News before last season started.

HERE is a quote from her twitter from a few days ago. Will Season 14 finally be Marina’s time to shine on the dance floor?

“I’ve been trying to get on Dancing With The Stars for the past 2 years as it’s one of my favorite shows,” Sirtis told TrekNews.net. “it’s time Star Trek was represented [on the show]” she added.

“I’m sure we have as many followers as the reality shows that are represented every year.” Sirtis said.

On the topic of how a viral Twitter campaign began to have her nominated for the Dancing With The Stars, Sirtis said “I mentioned my desire to appear on the show at a couple of conventions and of course the fans picked up the ball and ran with it.”

I’d love it if this were to happen! She definitely has a dancer body too. I still vision her with Tony like last season.

Now here is an interesting candidate and his name has come up before in many of our previous reportings…and that is Olympic Swimming Champion Greg Louganis!! Even more interesting yet is that Greg was pictured with some of the pros in Cabo San Lucas last June. Now he has recently expressed interest in dancing on Dancing With The Stars. Below is a take from LgbtqNation. What a cool message he’d have for the show too. I see Anna with Greg.

“Being on Dancing With The Stars is more than me being on the show, it sends a positive message — an ‘It Gets Better’ message. And that message is still important- kids are still losing hope. I want to do what I can for them.”

There have been gay men on DWTS before — Lance Bass, Carson Cressley and Louis Amstel — and Chaz Bono broke the transgender barrier last season. But if his bid is successful, Louganis would be the first openly HIV positive contestant. And it’s about time, say HIV activists.

“In a generation that is trying to end AIDS, it’s great to have openly HIV positive sports figures like Greg Louganis in the spot light,” said Tom Donohue, founder and executive director of Who’s Positive, an HIV/AIDS advocacy and awareness organization.

“Not only can his presence be a reminder for folks to be tested, his appearance on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ can reemphasize how those living with HIV/AIDS can live normal and active lives.” said Donohue, who is also on the board of directors for The National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA).

So, what do you think if any of these three were picked to dance? Who do you see them paired with? Stay tuned as Heidi is planning a “That’s Not Going To Happen” post again soon! 😉

SPECIAL NOTE:: THIS IS NOT A “CAMPAIGNING” POST for fans to campaign for their favorite celebrity. It’s just a news post announcing the popular online campaigning going on currently, what you think of the above three celebrities, and who you’d like to see them paired with. If you use the comment section to campaign, your post will be deleted. You can do campaigning at the Dancing With The Stars Official site here.

DWTS13 End-of-Season Award Winners – Who Was the Cutest Kid in the Audience?

Other responses:

Johnny Solo, Hope’s nephew (kid in Buzz Lightyear costume) – 6 (Some of you seem convinced that this was a deliberate omission on my part – I can assure you it was not.  I honestly didn’t know that the cute kid in the costume during movie score week was her nephew.)

All of the kids were cute – 4

I didn’t even notice the kids in the audience/did not enjoy the kid distraction – 2

No vote – 1 (Ok…so why bother even voting, then?)

Tie between Coco & Hope’s nephew – 1

Tie: Nancy’s twins – both! – 1

Maks (on the day of the finals) – 1 (He did seem unusually chipper…)

Carson – 1 (I can’t recall a time when they actually got him to stay in his seat…)

Oksana – 1 (Hehe)

NOT NANCY’S – 1 (Go back to your lair under your bridge, troll…)

Ricki’s sons – 1

Courtney: First of all, some clarification – this was not meant to be a mean-spirited question, and I think some of you kind of assumed it was, based on some of your write-in responses.   I just found it interesting that this was a season where the “shot of somebody’s kid in the audience” played a bigger role than ever before – I can’t recall a previous season where we were constantly bombarded with cute, clapping, gap-toothed grinning kiddie faces week after week, and we even discussed the fact that TPTB may be rather invested in whose faces we see each week – hence the “boost” they may have been giving David.  Really & truly though, I agree with the majority – I got the biggest kick out of seeing Coco’s little bashful, excited face each week after her daddy’s dances.  She really is a mini-David, with some of the faces she pulls! I just loved that she seemed so happy to be there, and so proud of her daddy after every dance, whether he knocked it out of the park or failed miserably. Mason was also cute in his few appearances – I got a kick out of seeing him dressed as an Indian during Halloween week, and during the non-dress up weeks, I just thought it was cute how he clapped more out of mimicry of the rest of the audience, rather than actual comprehension of what was going on around him 😛 Nancy’s twins were fun in that they seemed like polar opposites – John David seemed like the sweet, affectionate one, waving to the camera, smiling and blowing kisses; I think a lot of us agreed that Lucy seemed like the handful, often pouting and scowling in pictures and refusing to cooperate.  Nancy’s gonna have fun with those two! 😀 I think I only caught a short glimpse of Hope’s nephew in his costume, but he was cute too 🙂 And I can only recall Ricki’s sons showing up once, and they’re a bit older, so they were pretty tame, just clapping politely and smiling rather than doing anything generally considered “cute”.

Heidi: Well, ya know, to some people everything is mean spirited. 🙂  Oh, and by the way – saying “no vote” is, in reality, A VOTE.  :::rolls eyes:::  (That was mean spirited of me… 🙂 )  Anyway, on to the kiddies. While I do think Coco is adorable and loved seeing her, I think Mason Disick is probably the most beautiful child I’ve seen in a while.  How does such a thing happen in that family? I mean, have you seen their various shows?? Ridiculous – complaining about paparazzi while being the biggest famewhores (looking at you mamma Kris and Kim, in particular) is so eye roll inducing as to give me a massive headache. The list goes on with the absurdities on those shows. Yes, I did see some because it comes on after E! News on Saturday morning. Like a trainwreck, I couldn’t look away. Sue me. It won’t happen again.  Anyway, I like all the kiddies in the audience and think they are all cute, but Mason gets the award from me – the indian outfit capped it off. 🙂

Vogue: Courtney, I didn’t think this was a mean spirited question. I thought it was a fun one especially being the camera showed the celebrities kids and family so much last Season. All the kids were so cute. I voted for Coco being her heart was so much into the whole show. She was clapping nonstop! You could tell she loved being in the audience and her love for her Dad was so apparent. Nancy’s kids caught my eye too…but, boy oh boy, I imagine they are a handful…..much like SHE is. LOL!!

DWTS Derek Hough And Nappytabs Become Official Board Members Of The DizzyFeet Foundation

Take a look at these two tweets below. Derek Hough and Nappytabbs (choreographers that help with So You Think You Can Dance and who helped with Derek’s new movie, Cobu3D) announced they are official board members of the DizzyFeet Foundation. The DizzyFeet Foundation was founded in 2009 by Nigel Lythgoe, Adam Shankman, Dancing With The Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba, and Katie Holmes. Their mission is “to support, improve, and increase access to dance education in the United States.” In doing so, they help to “(1)provide scholarships to talented students studying at accredited dance schools, studios, or institutions; (2)establish national standards for dance education and an accreditation program for dance schools in all of the major styles of dance; and (3)develop, provide, and/or support dance education programs for disadvantaged children through and with local community organizations”. You can read more on their work at the DizzyFeet Foundation.

As Heidi said privately, what an “interesting venture” for Derek to take… and a ‘giving back’ one as well!!!

In other Derek things, don’t miss visiting Pure Derek Hough when you get a chance. Heidi has posted some more Cobu3D instagrams of Derek. They are so good, they are iconic in my opinion!

Dancing With The Stars Judge Carrie Anna Inaba Helps To Launch New Cat Series

Have you noticed all the recent animal rescue work Carrie Anne Inaba has been doing at twitter lately? I think this is so commendable. According to Business Wire, Carrie Anne is also helping with a new upcoming series involving cats on a new You Tube Channel called “Petsami” for people passionate about their pets. You can read all about it and other pet shows planned to air here.

FishBowl Worldwide Media, a next generation studio founded by entertainment industry veterans Vin Di Bona and Bruce Gersh, today announced the launch of Petsami, a new YouTube channel devoted to people passionate about their pets from the perspective of their BFFs (best furry friends), who also serve as hosts for each show. The Petsami channel is now live at www.YouTube.com/Petsami.

Also just a reminder that Carrie Anne will be co-hosting on ABC’s “Live! With Kelly” on Friday, January 27th as part of “Women Co-host Week”. You can read more on this special week at ABC Media.

DWTS14 Louis Van Amstel Says The Pros Will Know Whether They Dance Or Not In A Month

Louis Van Amstel was a guest on KTLA to promote his new LaBlast fitness and dance DVDs, but, here is the interesting part. Louis also talks about Dancing With The Stars and how the pros have a month to wait before they find out if they dance or not. First producers will find all of the celebrities and then start matching them with height first and then personality. They talk of how they put “opposites” together as well. You can listen to the new interview at KTLA. I like what he says about “daring to give up control” and “give up thinking” when you want to learn how to dance.

Again, if you’d like to know more on Louis’ new LaBlast DVDs and how you can order them, visit Louis’ LaBlast Fitness site.

ADDING: Louis did a segment on The Talk on Friday. He promotes his new LaBlast DVDs and gets the ladies dancing. If interested, see it at The Talk’s official site here in the 5th segment.
