Isn’t that a beautiful picture of Derek and Kelly Ripa? Today he was a guest on her show from Hawaii where they previewed his dance lessons with the chosen wedding couple. Derek IS such a sweetie. He just has IT. He can light up a room when he enters, or in this case, a beach. I agree with you too, Elara….in so many of the pics of him you can just feel/see dance movement. He has great ” emotive” quality along with his many other gifts. The talent and genuineness of the guy, well, it just SHINES.

I loved Derek’s entrance on Kelly this morning! He went right into dance mode with her and looked good doing it! They have great chemistry! Oh if they could be partnered together.
Excited to see dance he choreographed for the wedding couple & hope he’s there for the wedding.

I would be shocked if Kelly was doing the show, especially since Regis is gone, that along with her NY job, I just don’t see it happening. But I am prepared to “eat crow” if she is indeed cast…
I’m with Sandy in that I seriously doubt she would do the show right now. Even if they moved it to LA temporarily she’d be hard-pressed to do DWTS without a co-host on Live with Kelly, even if one is named right away.
I know, you all are right – Kelly is waaaay too busy. But a gal can dream, can’t she? They’d make a great couple!
My hope is that he gets someone fun that he enjoys and is good enough to keep him dancing all the way to the finals and, I know another win sounds greedy, but I’d love it for him. I also hope its someone who appreciates him as Ricki did, (always giving him props) and as hard-working and dedicated as Ricki was.
He and Kelly would be great, but I think she’s way too busy, too.

I really enjoyed Derek’s appearance on LWK this morning. I think he has built a nice rapport/chemistry with Kelly from co-hosting with her previously. He looked so divinely handsome, as well, and he has been getting some sun in the Hawaiian paradise!
I’m going to go way out on a limb and say that I think Kelly will dance with Derek this season. It would be easier for her to do the show from LA now than when Regis was co-hosting. It would give Live the opportunity to get some guests who might not make their way to NY that often. I think she could do both just like Nancy! I think Derek mentioning every time he is on Live that he’d like to dance with Kelly and she declining each time is just to throw us off track!? Am I nuts???
She’s fun, kind, they have good chemistry and she’d pull in huge fan votes…he’d be crazy not to want to dance with her
It’s not whether or not “LIVE” can do the show from LA…they can actually. She’d do the show and then rehearsal in the afternoon; she does a workout after the show in NYC anyway while kids in school……Now thats’ the concern….kids. She has 3, correct? Her hubby was doing an off broadway show last I heard. I don’t think she’d leave the kids for up to 10 weeks. (I say 10 because we know she could probably make it to the finale)
Hey, sheery, I didn’t know that her hubby, Mark, was working at the moment. Dang!

I just checked the Live website. Kelly just happens to be in LA hosting the first ever Live Post Oscar Show the day before the live DWTS announcement in LA. So she’s in town! Coincidence? Just think of all the practising she and Derek could be doing in Hawaii?
But now that you mention it, I am remembering Sherri Shepherd was at Maks studio allegedly… Coincidence as well? We shall see.
Hmmm, Now I am anxious to see if any of these celebs are cast and who their partners may be… Not sure how I would feel if either of these pairings were cast together.
Meggie, I saw that commercial about Kelly being in LA for the Post-Academy Awards Party and I thought, ” Hey, that’s the night before the cast reveal! “, but I never thought about it the way you did. Could it be a coincidence or a carefully planned scheme to have Kelly in LA without having to make it obvious.
Hmmm….Who knows? It’d be hard schedule wise but it wouldn’t be the first time a celeb had a CRAZZYYY schedule while doing the show. 
I think Sherri and Val would be the pairing if Sherri was on.

I think its either Sherri and Maks or Sherri and Val (it was Maks’ studio so I’m assuming her partner isn’t Mark or Derek just based on that…..but i can toally picture a amrk and sherri pairing too). Saying that, maks is too tall i think. I’m guessing Val. Good pairing if it turns out to be the case since he seems like a fun person who will say whatever whenever he wants and she has a big personality. Besides, I remeber someone saying that she wants to lose weight so she cna have a baby and DWTS si probably the ideal choice to achieve that goal. She already is a great mom to her son and she deserves another child if she wants one.
Also, if she indeed is on the show then she stands a good chance of getting really far. She has three things going for her: 1) a lot of fans becuase of her acting and the view 2) personality to spare and last but not least 3) likeability factor and an ability to not take herself too seriously which is needed for the show (ex. Ralph Machio let Karian do whatever she needed and didn’t complain and was game for anything while Hope Solo kinda was open to anything but her competativeness got in her way).
Sherri was at Maks’ studio a couple months ago in work out clothes. Vogue saw a picture. But it was long enough ago now that she couldn’t have already been confirmed for DWTS – if she was, I cry FOUL!!
And possibly a good bit of training already under her belt, vin.

I have a feeling she forgot a lot fo the stuff they taught her already lol she isn’t the sharpest crayon in the box.
The cast is usually diverse right? So if that is the case, I don’t see them casting both Kelly and Sherri, whom are both daytime talk show hosts and both women. So my thoughts would be its one or the other. JMO though.
IDK Sandy, a Kelly/Sherri competition might be fun! I do think that there’s more chance that Sherri will do it than Kelly though.
