The Daily Mail has some great new shots up taken by Flynet Pictures of Mark Ballas and Dancing With The Stars season 14 partner Katherine Jenkins. Apparently, the two were seen leaving a nightclub in Kensington last night. You can read more and see more pictures here. Is it just me or are they not a striking couple?
I'm a fashion and music nut....and I have always loved dancing too of any kind. Dancing With The Stars seems to have this way of bringing all of those things together. Derek Hough (one of my favorite dancers) said at a recent Get Healthy event that ‘dancing’ is an outward expression of what is going on inside you. He says that in some ways, everyone dances and it's so true. To TPTB, how about Sam Palladio's "Fade Into You" (this version sung by WilUnleashed) for a V. Waltz?

These rumors are so silly. Mark has already has a girlfriend, Tiffany Dunn back in LA. She admitted they were dating, won’t be long till mark sets the record straight. Katherine already has.
Yeah, we’ll see. We’ll see how Mark’s girlfriend feels about those pictures of the two of them in the back of the car where he has his hand on her legs. Really, how hard is it to NOT give the paps something to start rumors with??
On a more serious note, at least he grew his hair out.
*rolls eyes* Mark already playing his DWTS games. Too bad for Katherine, who is gorgeous in her dress, that all the others who were out with them are also not pictured or mentioned by the Daily Mail. *rolls eyes*
They certainly are a striking pair and I can’t wait to see them take the dance floor. Mark is my favorite male pro.
I always figured Katherine to be taller than she is. I’m quite familiar with her work and a huge fan and hope she can move. One thing is for sure, she couldn’t have a better coach/partner/choreographer. Mirror Ball Trophy or not, Mark Ballas is a winner! I find the rumor mills about everyone hilarious, to a degree, but that’s mixed because I strongly dislike the lack of respect for their privacy.
I definitely am excited to see the two on the dance floor. Katherine definitely has the best coach, partner and choreographer to guide her through the season. These rumors start up every season not only with Mark but with all or most of the pros. Mark is such a gentleman and one of the nicest guys. It’s a shame that the press has to publish all this nonsense.
Press would have less to write if Mark did not feed them. He plays that game the best of all the pros. He was far from a gentleman with Melissa or Chelsea. But he seems to know what he is doing. Katherine is an A lister in the UK and he must have saw all the press Derek got while the Cheryl rumors went around. He is a shrewd one. I still wish she got paired with Tristan. That would be a striking pair and to see what Tristan could do choreo wise. We already know what Mark will do. Not exciting about more showboating. Will we get more moody Mark when everyone fails to acknowledge his genius?
Katherine is bending over backwards to make sure no one thinks there is anything going on – not a peep from Mark.
Some things about this show are SO predictable, that I’m starting to think that quite a few pros (the men in particular) could stand to be replaced. And I include Derek, even though he’s not predictable for anything other than being PC and coming up with crazy choreo. I include him because I think he can do so much more than DWTS. And I hope he is.

Funny how those two wins from a whole back seem to be overshadowed his recent early departures. Mark seems have no middle ground. Either they go far even with an aid of a WTA cha cha or early exits. Wonder where Katherine will fall.
Mark did the same thing with Kristin. She made it clear there was nothing while he never denied it.
I agree that some pros taking seasons off would be good including Mark. I do think Derek needs to move on but more to do other things. I feel he can do more but I also see why the show does not want to lose him either.
I just feel like Derek’s being wasted on DWTS, but it’s possible that he really missed it when he was gone and he’s just biding his time until his other things come to fruition. He’s still one of the younger pros on the show, so he has time.
As for Mark’s past wins – I swear, I think people believe Derek has won every season with the way they behave. Just as a reminder, Cheryl has won TWICE, Kym has won TWICE, Mark won TWICE, Julianne won TWICE, Derek won THREE times…anyone of these people besides Derek win this season and they will have three mirror balls too. I fully expect everyone to start pointing and screaming ringer at their partners.
I am confused, mark denied every rumor about his partners. He denied it with kristin, chelsea, bristol etc. But the pressed just kept going. Maybe not sabrina cuz i think he did date her. I totally understand why people might not like mark he does show off at times, but that doesn’t mean he should be judged about all the girls he is rumored to be with. Almost all the time he isn’t romantically linked with them.
Heidi, I think the fact Derek has never had an early exit plays into the all revisionist history and he always gets good partners.
As for Mark, he seems to play the game well every season. He is shrewd.
Melissa… Derek doesn’t “always” get good partners. He just happens to have the gift to make his partners into good/great dancers by that particular season’s standards.
So true. I’ll never forget how no one thought Joanna could and would become a good dancer. Thanks to Derek, he made her into one inch by inch and week by week.
Elmari, I agree he does not always get good partners. I meant the revisionist history spins it that he does. I agree his talent is he makes his partners look good. He is great at showcasing them.

There are polanty of pictures out there as recently as a week ago of Tiffany and Mark and their friends tweet the pics to them with “The lovebirds”…..so with Mark it’s game playing or he just a ladies man.

Has anyone seen the video on twitter of Katherine dancing she is quite good. I think Mark is scripted by the show to be the showoff, Mak’s to be the bad boy and Derek to be the all american good guy. Makes the show more interesting for those of us who watch.It is all in good fun and I really wish everyone would not get so rattled and just sit back and enjoy!

Diana hit the nail on the head regarding scripting personalities and situations, and it works great because it’s created the controversy they were going for. Any PR is good PR and part of both the art of dance and being a TV personality, especially on this show, is acting and they play their roles well. Of course I remember Mark has won 2 mirror ball trophies P Heidi, but on seasons when he doesn’t he’s still a winner, and he should have 3 but Hines had more fans and the judging was too critical and twisted that season. Remember bringing in the extra judges that were yes men and followed the lead of others? Mark is trying to bring innovation and entertainment to the show while keeping the needed requirements and elements and I’d rather see something new and different than a lot of wasted time dealing with stupid props and set dressing. It’s a dance competition and not a play, so when I see set pieces I always feel there will be a delay and we’ll have to wait a bit to see the actual dancing begin. Judging merely from the remarks here about Maks, the producers have done a great job and they’ve achieved the goals they were going for.
diana, you assume people get “rattled” and upset when in reality, sometimes we just like discussing things. I, for one, like a good argument – as long as I’m having it with someone willing to deal in reality, I should say.
As for scripting?? Sure, the producers do a bit of that – but they don’t make Mark, Derek or Maks behave in certain ways, they just DO. They’ve give Derek’s partners “bad edits” before and Derek wrote a song to remind Nicole that the camera was on her at all times – if you don’t want to be shown in a particular way, DON’T give them material.
No, JJ, Chelsea was never going to win the mirrorball – not enough people really liked her that much, seeing as how they had to prop her up to keep her on the show. Remember, it’s a delicate balance of dancing, popularity, charisma and so on. Hines had all three – he wasn’t just a dude with a huge fanbase. I know that people like to believe such things when their favorites get beat, but at some point you just have to look at it realistically.
Mark has left early on several occasions when he really shouldn’t have. Kristin and Shannen being two. Sabrina being a third. Mark bringing innovation?? Mark is trying desperately to get emmy nominations like his brother. Derek has shown quite clearly that you can be innovative as hell and creative, and come up with very memorable dances while staying within the boundaries the show has set. When Mark can do THAT, then I’ll think he’s innovative.
@JJ – To each his/her own, I guess. What you see as innovation, I see as twisted, tortured choreography – like crawling about on the floor, looking like someone with a severe neurological affliction needing immediate care and attention… I don’t see Mark’s choreo as innovative as much as I see it to be a bit… well…. pathetic. With Derek, IMO, one need look no farther than the “Psycho Tango” – music that, by all rights, should have been impossible to work with, yet Derek managed to come up with a thrilling routine that stayed true to the music and movie, as well as to the Tango. It was brilliant in concept, and in performance. And no “floor crawling” was needed…
To each their own. Relying on gimmicks is not Innovative but a cheat. I would believe him being so creative if his work was not so derivative of other choreographers. I took issue with his jive with Chelsea because he chose the song and everything to do Emmy seeking choreo. Yet acted like well they gave him song. He asked for it. He ripped off the band’s video concept and got Chelsea to cheat jive technique. Then says the judges do not get it. If you are going to take a risk, just take t and expect low scores from Len. I think both Anna and Dereek’s futuristic dances were creative while still in the rules. The psycho tango is another and that fifties paso? Wow! And both argentine tangos with Jennifer and Nicole? Just pure brilliant dancing.
@Wiwin – I also want Katherine to do well, as there is something so appealing about her. My most likely false hope is Mark will showcase her, but I’m not betting on it.
Tiffany Dunn better realize – if she hasn’t already – that Mark goes into playa mode when he working on DWTS.

Britt, they are really cute together. I’ve said this before, but, Katherine may end up being my favorite partner of his. Time will soon tell.
