I'm a fashion and music nut....and I have always loved dancing too of any kind. Dancing With The Stars seems to have this way of bringing all of those things together. Derek Hough (one of my favorite dancers) said at a recent Get Healthy event that ‘dancing’ is an outward expression of what is going on inside you. Wow…at first when I was just listening to the video and not really watching it, it sounded like Shirley talking – at least a young Shirley Ballas. No wonder Mark has connected so well with Katherine
She looks good, but not stellar – and I’m afraid that at this point, she’s going to need to be STELLAR in order to get the votes she needs. I guess time will tell…

I have to say that I like her frame. You are right Vogue, it’s beautiful. But I don’t like the way she stands when she is not on hold with Mark. It’s like she is lost. My opinion. But in general, one more celebrity who looks good this season! Can’t wait for the season to start!
She is looking good but I was expecting more. Don’t get me wrong, she looks like shem ight be a good ballrom dancer but she looked lost when out of hold. She reminds me of Elisabetta in that sense.

@Courtney – I fear you’re right; she needs to be “blow ‘em away” good in order to avoid being an early elimination.
Question: Should her left wrist be sticking up like that? I thought the proper hold was to have the elbow high enough so you could get a smooth line from elbow through wrist to fingers. Of course, for a preseason rehearsal, that’s nitpicking. I’m really asking more for future reference rather than to criticize Katherine (whom I have a decided soft spot for).

She looks good and Mark seemed nice and mellow. Lets hope that lasts.. My like or dislike of Mark seems to vary every season depending who he’s paired with.
With Mark, he’s happy & mellow because he’s in a good “personal” relationship right now….that helps

@Cidra – Ideally, she should cock her hand out to her left a bit more, in order to get a straight line through her forearm & thumb and to get her hand to lay flat against his bicep. However, I’m wondering if she just happens to have very long arms, or Mark is holding her closer in order to lead her more firmly, which could be making it hard for her to keep her wrist flat. Frankly, I’m a bit more worried about her feet at this point – something about them looks funky, like she’s maybe taking every step with a flat foot, and Len is a stickler about footwork.
Interesting thought: if week 7 is classical week, does that mean they’re going to be doing classical team dances? The team dance is usually done in week 7. Then again, I’m thinking they’re going to have to do a double elimination at some point, since they have 12 celebs and aren’t eliminating anyone until week 2. Could throw things off a bit.

Lastly, Mark seems to be acting the way he did when partnered with Shawn (aka normal….but then again I have no doubt those damn shoes will make an appearance at least every other week).

Classical week? Did I hear Mark say that… in week 7? YAY!!!!!
She is so beautiful and I love her accent so much. She seems very sweet as well. I think Mark has good chemistry with her and I’ll bet that part of it is because she does sound a lot like his mom Shirley. He probably feels right at home! I’m going to enjoy listening to his British accent come out more and more as he spends time with her. As far as dancing is concerned, she seems a bit flat-footed and he was basically moving her around the floor. Time will tell. I sure hope he doesn’t drag out those spats again this season.
Ah Mark and his spats. Of course, they’re very popular on SCD. I swear you couldn’t get through a week last series without seeing one of the pros performing in the flashy things. So I suppose he’s just harkening back to his UK days.

I think this will be a season where fans/viewers will be hoping for some luv’in, but nothing substantial will come of it.
Katherine on twitter was asked if she could foresee a relationship with Mark and she shut it down immediately. Along with her reply she added the hash tag #hearts still mending.
The only other two romances possibly would be Cheryl and William or Maria and Derek. Cheryl and William is a definite no imo. Maria and Derek is still a question mark for me.
For me the showmance reporting is just ridiculous. I personally could give a rip about it. But the media outlets seem to thrive and somewhat focus on it at times. I guess it makes for good TV. I can’t be bothered with it.
#1—Mark is dating Tiffany Dunn and they have been VERY public about it.
#2–Vin, There’s a Maks fan, who for at least the past 3 seasons, has been tweeting and posting on sites on how to “maximize” votes for Maks & —–” Melissa got the tweet and RT for her fans lol. Mark fans are the ones who showed Bristol fans what to do….and forget about it!!! You know what happened
They thought those fans would stay around and always vote for Mark but apparently only a few stuck it out with he & Chelsea.
