DWTS Season 14 Stats Class: Week 1 Predicted Scores
So here we are, the first week of the season and rumor has it that the celebs are going to be dancing either the gracefully upbeat Foxtrot or the fun and flirty Cha-Cha. So let’s get cooking and see what their scores could be.
What I’m going to do this season is different from previous seasons. I will post up the average score of the dance in a particular group/category and then average all three scores completely and round up or down based on intangibles and there you have the final predicted scores. Keep in mind that popularity, previous dance experience, etc are not taken into account… that is simply too many variables for me to attempt to follow for any season.
GAVIN DEGRAW
Dance: Foxtrot
Average Scores:
- Age: 19.435
- Occupation: 20.000
- Professional Partner: 21.000
Predicted Score: 20
Comments: With most of his scores being “middle of the road” the only thing going for him is his partner Karina. Her scores on the Foxtrot in the first third of the season on average is relatively higher than most pros. Should he be part of the middle of the pack… he may be alright for the week (considering the rabid fan base I’ve noticed thus far) but if he doesn’t shine either this week or next week, he could be in trouble for the casual viewer.
DONALD DRIVER
Dance: ChaCha
Average Scores:
- Age: 19.667
- Occupation: 19.143
- Professional Partner: 14.000
Predicted Score: 18
Comments: It’s always hard to tell how a celeb would do when they are paired with a relatively new pro. NFL players typically do better in the Foxtrot out of the gate as opposed to the ChaCha, so with a couple of strikes against him… NFL players could surprise the audience by sheer weight of their personality, he might be lucky here. However, when looking at the scores of NFL players in their 30s, they tend to hit above average (21.000)… so I almost feel that this score is rather low overall.
ROSHON FAGEN
Dance: ChaCha
Average Scores:
- Age: 20.583
- Occupation: 22.500
- Professional Partner: 16.500
Predicted Score: 21
Comments: Disney actors/actresses are typically stronger in the ChaCha than in the Foxtrot out of the gate… could be because they move better than a lot of the other celebs. However, with Chelsie as a partner, her scores are a lot stronger in the Foxtrot as opposed to the ChaCha… However, celebs in their 20s – overall – score near the top of the leaderboard with the ChaCha, so I say the odds are going in his favor, as long as Chelsie knows how to help him shine.
MELISSA GILBERT
Dance: ChaCha
Average Scores:
- Age: 16.722
- Occupation: 19.667
- Professional Partner: 22.000
Predicted Score: 19
Comments: Interestingly enough, Maksim has ranked fairly high in the first week’s ChaCha dances of all the pros… so Melissa has that going for her. Being an actress definitely helps, she could use that skill set to cover up any flaws in the first week of the season. So why is her score so low on average? Her age group apparently doesn’t fare well in this dance… Personally I think she’ll score higher than the “19″ shown.
KATHERINE JENKINS
Dance: Foxtrot
Average Scores:
- Age: 19.435
- Occupation: 20.000
- Professional Partner: 22.600
Predicted Score: 21
Comments: According to the numbers, Mark does rather well with the Foxtrot in the first third of the season. However, this is also including his two ringers: Kristi Yamaguchi (Season 6) and Shawn Johnson (Season 8). Take the obvious ringers away and he drops to the middle of the pack… Can Katherine be considered a ringer? Considering that in the other two categories she’s more middle of the pack… I would say that if she doesn’t shine right off the bat then don’t expect her to stick around all that long.
GLADYS KNIGHT
Dance: ChaCha
Average Scores:
- Age: 16.857
- Occupation: 19.000
- Professional Partner: 16.000
Predicted Score: 17
Comments: Being a “legend” brings with it all sorts of intangibles in a celeb’s ability to last on the show. Having a reasonably new pro adds a whole new sets of variables to how she would do in the first week… if not throughout the season. Most celebs in their 60s have not broken the 20 point barrier… except for Kirstie Alley (Season 12). I’m not expecting her to score high, but I do expect her to last the week.
WILLIAM LEVY
Dance: ChaCha
Average Scores:
- Age: 19.667
- Occupation: 19.222
- Professional Partner: 20.000
Predicted Score: 20
Comments: A relative unknown celeb (at least to most audiences) paired with one of the most popular pro dancers? That alone would help him pass through the week unless he has no dance ability whatsoever. Being touted as possibly “Gilles Marini” 2.0 gives him huge shoes to fill, I don’t think he’ll hit the same fever pitch as Gilles, but if a similar “perfect storm” happens who knows? Oddly enough Cheryl’s track record with the ChaCha lands her in the middle of the pack, while Actors in their 30s happen to score high (average 23.667). Personally this score seems to be rather low… however I think that they could score a couple of points higher… time will tell if lightning has struck twice for Cheryl.
MARIA MENOUNOS
Dance: ChaCha
Average Scores:
- Age: 19.667
- Occupation: 17.571
- Professional Partner: 21.500
Predicted Score: 20
Comments: Ah yes, the reverse Barbie and Ken of the season. In past seasons that has had a “host” in the cast… they have done above average (22.000) ChaCha dances, so I expect Maria to hit at least above the Predicted Score. Granted having Derek as a partner – who knows how to bring his partner’s strengths into the limelight – will undoubtedly raise her point value. On average celebs in their 30s do fairly well in the ChaCha… so it looks like Maria’s stars have aligned in some capacity, at least for the week.
MARTINA NAVRATILOVA
Dance: Foxtrot
Average Scores:
- Age: 19.429
- Occupation: 19.833
- Professional Partner: 20.333
Predicted Score: 20
Comments: And here is a case where the numbers may not align quite as perfectly, but they do so just enough for her to last the week, maybe two. Very much a middle of the pack scores across the board, Martina needs to shine or Tony needs to revise his choreography game plan if they want to stick around for a while as opposed to disappearing to the back of people’s minds.
SHERRI SHEPHERD
Dance: Foxtrot
Average Scores:
- Age: 19.462
- Occupation: 17
- Professional Partner: N/A
Predicted Score: 18
Comments: Another celeb with a relatively new dance pro. Sherri’s prospects are not that strong based on past celebs in similar categories as herself… She does have personality which might win her some brownie points with the voting public if she plays her cards right. But we shall see.
JACK WAGNER
Dance: Foxtrot
Average Scores:
- Age: 19.429
- Occupation: 18.500
- Professional Partner: 19.600
Predicted Score: 19
Comments: A “silver fox” groomed to be the older woman’s eye candy, not that I’m complaining. Oddly enough, in every category past celebs have either been in the middle of the pack or lower. which doesn’t bode well for Jack. He is going to need all the charm in the world to get through this first dance, and being in his 50s I’m kind of glad that he’s starting with the Foxtrot, though on the other side of the coin… this could be real bad because should he get through this week, next weeks is most likely the Jive and… well I’ll get into that more next week should he get through this week.
JALEEL WHITE
Dance: Foxtrot
Average Scores:
- Age: 19.435
- Occupation: 21.500
- Professional Partner: 20.333
Predicted Score: 20
Comments: For some reason or another, Actors general fare well with the Foxtrot straight out of the gate, ranking rather high over all on average. Breaking that down though, it was those in their 50s that scored less than 20 while those in their 40s or younger scored well above 20… I say Jaleel is looking pretty good in that respect. Kym’s track record with the Foxtrot seems to fare well with those celebs that had some sort of previous acting / performing experience so I’m expecting this score to be a little higher than predicted.
And there you have it… the first predicted scores of the season… Let’s see how I fare when the show starts later tonight! Based on my data I say the celeb I would think would be in the most danger is: Sherri Shepherd. With her low score, newer dance partner and a whole plethora of other variables working against her, unless she does a spectacular ChaCha she may be the most at risk to go home. Who would be heading out the door soon? Probably Melissa Gilbert, mainly because to me she doesn’t seem to have a strong fanbase, but I could be wrong.

LOVES THESE MARIANYA! So glad you are back!! Can’t wait to see the scores tonight in comparison to yours!!!
I do not agree with your scores at all. Gladys and Tristan will be surprising everyone tonight! You have scored them way too low!!
@Maureen – The scores (like the eliminations) are all based on calculations from scores from previous seasons… they don’t always reflect my personal opinion, that’s what my comments are for… if I feel that a score should be higher I would say so, but I won’t necessarily change the calculated score to reflect what I want.
If that makes sense.
Marueen, disagree if you like, but let’s just wait and see how things turn out before you start screaming at Marianya that’s she’s wrong, k?
I agree with most of the predictions!
But I have to say after seeing the video with Cameron Mathison interviewing everyone. I see Maria Menounos and William Levy atleast getting one or more 8′s in the judges scores (Mainly Bruno Tonioli though haha) . Man this season is going to be tough!
I think this season will be really tough, too. I have to say though…I hope we don’t see any 8′s, 9′s or 10′s tonight unless they are truly deserved (which I don’t normally think is on the first week, but someone could surprise us). I hate when the judges overscore! But, I suppose it is part of the show. It just makes me go GRRRR.
If I had to guess the scores it would be pretty much the same as the one you said!
The only three differences are I think are Roshon getting a score of 22 (I think its going to be 7, 7, 8 (Bruno giving the 8 lol), Gladys getting a nice “21″, and Jaleel getting a “23″ (carrie ann and bruno giving the respecive 8s while len gives the 7). Something tells me Sherri might see a 5 paddle (She has a lot of energy but hopefully her personality and the audience’s reaction might sway the judges to avoid the 5 paddle).
As for Maria, I really hope she does really good but something about her reminds me of Jenny Garth (minus all the confidence issues). Glad she is going first like Jenny did
definately a good sign
I have to be honest right now. I really think they are really going to overscore William and Cheryl tonight for some reason. Definitly Carrie Ann and Bruno.
I have a good feeling Donald and PETA will be close to the top did you see them on gma I love Donald and PETA and her hotness and legs and beauty!!
From the Cameron video, William is looking the sharpest and right on. If they get very high score, is because they deserve it. Katherine is well polished too. They are both not well known by now, but i expect them to be the biggest surprises and the early front runners. All the pros are picking Jaleel and William to be the toughest competition. Jaleel with his skills to entertain, and William with his sex appeal and dancing skills.
@Grant: Peta has great legs but I think she is probably has the best eyes out of the female pros.
@vin I think she is the best dancer out of the pros
i love the way you make the difference between the score the numbers gave you and your personal opinion… like it or not.. usually the statistics are right!
IMO :
DONALD DRIVER, JACK WAGNER will take a 20
GAVIN DEGRAW, ROSHON FAGEN – 19
MARIA MENOUNOS, JALEEL WHITE,WILLIAM LEVY – 21
The highest score: Katherine – let’s call it a chance from the judges because she will be good and the american public doesn’t know her
The lowest score – Martina – because i just feel she has absolutely no rhythm and she feels awkward and she will look awkward..
thank you guys for the amazing job you are doing here!! i liked DWTS…since i met your i ADORE DWTS… thank you!
My prediction: William 23, Jaleel 23, Katherine 22, Maria 21, Roshon 21, Gladys 20, Melissa 20, Sherri 21, Gavin 16, Donald 20, Martina 15, Jack 18.
Bruno and Len will pull for fellow British Katherine. Carrie Ann will drool over William and pull for Jaleel. She’s acquainted and huge fan of Jaleel.
I am surprised at the lack of chatter about Melissa. Of all the contestants, I think she is one of the ones that is least talked about, and most well known. She better kill it tonight!! Or she may not be around for long.
Well I can’t predict anything because these look like better dancers than we’ve ever seen in other seasons but still, I was kinda surprised at the predicted scores. I figured at least one of them would’ve gotten a 16 or lower but we’ll see!
Wow. From what I remember, if these predictions are close, it would indicate the first elimination would be basically a battle of the fanbases… a whole lot of points, and not a lot of separation. Everybody get ready to vote, vote, and vote some more!
I couldn’t help but think of Kirstie’s and Jennifer’s killer, sexy, fun cha chas when I read that Melissa’s age group doesn’t do well with cha chas. However, they were the ONLY two I could think of.
@Sukra – Kirstie was in her 60s at the time she was on the show and Jennifer Grey (who was in her 50s when she was on the show) did a Viennese Waltz in her first week… Jennifer Grey didn’t do a ChaCha until Week 8, so that score is not included in these calculations (these reflect the first third of the seasons).
Melissa GIlbert is currently in her 40s.
My prediction:Maria 22,Roshon 21,Gavin 21,Jack 20,Jaleel 20,Gladys 18,Sherri 18,Melissa 20…theres too many of them to finish!haha!
Great work Marianya. Very interesting set of numbers. It will be fun to see how they go tonight. I predict some angry fan reaction to over and underscores.
Well so far it looks like history is a lousy score predictor
For some reason it just occured to me that I really would like to see Marg Helgenberger on the show.
the judges are seriously smoking crack. Everyone will be in shock next week when they get real.
Hiram, be nice. You don’t need to be so rude to Marianya, even if you disagree with her.
WAY to early for a nine. I agree Heidi the judges are definately smoking something. If they keep this up we’ll have a 10 by week 4. What will they do then? pull out 11s and 12s???
Anyone ??? Did Maria really only dance 1 point better than Martina. And some of the other sloppy footwork only produced that narrow a spread ? Heidi, what you said. judges a little more crazy than usual , or do I need some glasses ??
WTH?!?! Almost everyone was overscored. Two of the least known in the US ended up at the top especially with William not deserving that 24. This has been the worst judging yet.
The worst part is that since they overscored worse dancing they had to go really high for those who did good.
Here’s my opinion:
Best Cha-cha: Roshon
Worst: Melissa
Best Foxtrot: Jaleel
Worst: Martina
No, you’re not crazy. They seriously overscored William, overscored Gladys by a bit, overscored katherine by a point or two then had no choice but to go high on Jaleel. Jaleel probably had the best dance of the night but a 27 would be ridiculous, so he’s tied with Katherine who had a good dance…but not a 26. They painted themselves into a corner with William’s score and got high (crack is wack) from there. For example – I thought Melissa was scored about right – But William was NOT 4 points ahead of her. Only because CAI and Bruno are in love with him and Len is handicapping. Again.
What is it too early for 9′s? Great dancing is great dancing no matter when and there was some great dancing. I saw dances tonight that were better than some of the week 8, 9, and 10 dances from last year that got 9′s and 10′s.
It’s a tragedy one of these couples is going home next week. Every single one of them would have made it to atleast week 5 any other season. I had 7 couples I sent votes to and there were even 1 or 2 more I wanted to.
Martina did deserve all 6′s. I didn’t think Maria was anything great and honestly forgot her dance by shows end.
My favorites of the night were Gladys and Katherine!! Also loved William and Roshon. And Sherri. And Donald. And Jaleel…And Gavin’s sense of humor! Man what a cast!
Based on dancing it should be either Martina or Melissa and neither of them were awful.
Just an amazing debut.
Amen Trenta. To make matters worse, next week when they get over the first night high, people will be bitching when they get real. This is why Hope and Bristol were so sure they were deserving of high scores at the end – because of inflated scores they got early on.
Interesting that so many of your predicted scores are in the 19-20-ish range, it seems the last couple of seasons, they either go high (24ish) on week one or really low. After watching one of the early seasons on GSN I remembered they actually scored all of the teams kinda low week one to set the bar and give room to move. Any thought to how the numbers would change if you only did say the last half of the seasons?
judges smoking crack…. again. Although I can kind of understand their exuberance, this really was the best premier in a very long time, if not ever.
My initial thoughts, before any dancing commenced:
Who is that woman with Tony?
Love Anna’s yellow shows! But not the first time we’ve seen them?
Looks like Peta is using the same fashion advisor Edyta did.
My one-word gut reaction after each dance:
Maria – tentative
Jack – clumsy
Donald – FUN
Gavin – sweet
Roshon – wow
Sherri – joyful
Melissa – disappointing
Martina – careful
William – steamy
Katherine – WOWzah!
Gladys – woo hoo
Jaleel – smooth
Wow! What a night! Initial thoughts:
1) Music selection was current which made a refreshing change.
2) The judges were bold in scoring -fans need to vote.
3) I felt that both Maria and Donald should have scored higher.
4) I think Kym may be well on her way for another win!
Still don’t get the love affair with William. The audience went crazy. I guess I am in the minority on that one.
Loved Jaleel – best dance of the night, and Donald (a surprise there, he has charisma), Gladys has moves, and Gavin was better than I thought.
Melissa was not very good, actually she was pretty awful, Maks his shirt open already. Really? I guess he feels threatened by William. As much as I hate to say it, but unfortunately they made Maria look ridiculous, always highlighting her silly laugh.
I think the foxtrots were scored higher than the cha cha in some cases because the jive is their next dance. I mean I love Jack, but 23!? Sherri – 23!!?? William and Catherine both were scored too high because of their fan base, Gladys was scored high because she is Gladys. I think only 5 of the 12 were scored properly. The others were all over scored!
Yep, crack!
I thought Maria’s package was hilarious. I think some worry too much about her laugh. She made me laugh every time.
The William thing is ridiculous.
And I can’t believe I am defending one of the judges….but when Len gets serious after all the audience screaming for their favs, and actually critique a dance, people get irate. As you said Heidi, no wonder everyone gets their skivies in a wad when everyone calms down and trys to score on the dancing. Gonna be some real problems next week. Seriously pissed right now….and there is NO way SS did not have weeks of training prior to actual training and Roshon’s ringerdom…..pleeeze.
There was definite overscoring going on tonight…
As far as William, I think he’s like Colton on American Idol this season… People are definitely thinking they are “all that,” and wanting to be on the show as long as possible…. And I am probably one of the only person NOT drinking the Kool-aid.
Yeah, Meggie that was my theory as well.
@Linde: I actually got distracted by Anna’s shoes! Did anyone else?
Roshon: I was beaming the entire time. You just want to grab him and squeeze him! Such a cutie!
Katherine: I came close to tears with that performance. She has such a beautiful soul and seems to be a real sweetheart. I dare say, her biggest liability may be Mark’s choreography – if he keeps it interesting and not too out there they’ll go far.
Martina: The entire time I was thinking she needed to relax more and at times speed up a bit. I’m thinking she may do better next week now that she knows what to expect.
Melissa: Ok, what was she supposed to be doing at the end of the dance just before going up the steps? It looked as if she didn’t know whether to turn, move her arms, stand still or all of the above!
William did not do it for me. Seems to be a strong dancer but he is not Gilles.
Well. the judges opened the season on crack… I wonder what in the hell is next…
And I think all of the points they were throwing around like crazy people are actually going to flatten out the percentages, and make this a fanbase war… This is all IMO, but we could actually get a “shocking elimination” right out of the gate this season. Especially if the judges keep suckin’ the pipe…
I thought that everyone did really well tonight, but I think people are right about the judges scoring too high. However, remember last year when people would complain about them being too low? I do think that this cast is a heck of a lot more talented though. Let’s just be honest, who’s glad that we finally have a cast that we can all get pretty excited about? They’re all charismatic, it was not drama filled like we’re used to and everyone seemed genuinely happy (ie no Rob Kardashian going on the show because of his mom). I’m also happy that we have this cast of nostalgic people and we also see the “unknowns” of William and Katherine. I think ABC should be very content with everything that happened tonight. I thought it was a great show, sure the scores were inflated, but it was fun!
Top 3 for me:
Donald-I am a GB Packers fan, obviously I have to say this and let’s be honest, he was so charismatic, you can’t not love the guy (on top of that he’s a REALLY great guy in the community–I’ve met him before!) Good for Peta too, so glad she got a partner and he seems so happy to have her as his partner.
Katherine-Obviously she was just a surprise and started to cry when she finished. I think she knows her career just “came to the other side of the pond” now and I’m happy for her.
Jaleel-I mean enough said, but we knew that he was going to be good.
I think that Melissa may be leaving. I saw too much Hope movement in her, with the bad turns and shaky legs. I didn’t enjoy her performance at all. Maks is being too nice, he should go to what he’s known for, I know he got some criticism but that’s him on the show.
I hope Maria is able to improve enough. I voted for them because I’m such a Derek fan, but I’m worried she’ll go home earlier than I would like. Going first tonight was not a good thing. The energy definitely built. My standouts were Katherine and Roshon. I do wish the judges would be a little more consistent.
yes, they did great!! actually all of them!!
but i agree that they are really over scored. jr&karina week 1 only got 22 -well in fact that was already great IMO. same thing w/ ricki&derek who only got 20. But 9 & others got 8 for week 1??
Linde – I like your 1 word reactions after each dance….
I do have the following thought:
William – that dance was steamy – but that was the point wasn’t it? Bigger question is the dances that follow that don’t require or need that kind of “hip heat” then what are we left with? I imagine we’re going to see.
Jaleel – was really good, I think what works against him is a bit of a chip on his shoulder – he’s working so hard to get out of the shadow of “Urkel” (understandably) — I didn’t see a bit of Urkel in him tonight – so I think he should and needs to relax a bit
IMO
Kathryn – it was a perfect combo for her first dance and gracious personality – didn’t know what to expect and was really pleasantly surprised – well done! For a week 1 dance it was rather good!
Donald – Charisma for miles and miles – he’s gonna be fun – this dance was fun, but in the more serious dances let’s see how it goes.
Gladys – Well done Tristan – we got to see her personality, her stage presence and sass – The Empress of Soul has some moves!
Maria – I agree was tentative, but nice. Her fan base is HUGE – twitter FB Tumblr Forums are a buzz with all things Maria – great social networking happening with her.
Roshon – gotta get the street and hiphop moves out of there if Len is going to give him decent scores going forward. He’s like an energizer bunny, infectious and willing to learn – love that.
Melissa – I did not see that coming, I really thought she’d be one of the top performers on night 1 — looks like she got a bit lost mid way, 1st night jitters maybe?? I was a bit underwhelmed by the performance.
Gavin: He needs to believe in himself. If only the confidence and swag he has on stage singing could translate in to the male lead on the dance floor. I hope he gets a chance to try. Touring and doing DWTS as we all know is tough – really tough. He has potential, I want to tell him to take a deep breath and own it! We’ll see.
Jack – I will be honest… I was so distracted by their costumes… I was – that I don’t have much of an impression with the dance itself – my bad!
Martina – I love her spirit! Can do, gonna do my best and more attitude. I want for her to have the chance to learn, to conquer this, she wants to and doesn’t take herself too seriously
Sherri: She was good, Val was GREAT! – I was smiling and then lost all impression of the dance they just did after her “I think I left a boob on the dance floor…..” *ROFL* yeah I kinda went blank after that *ROFL*
I enjoyed tonight immensely! There are the Pro fans that are going to go balls to the walls for their favorite pro – same for the celebrities — let’s see how it all plays out! Welcome to Season 14
Exactly Sally. I was thinking the same–turning into a fanbase war. It was a great show. But I couldn’t get over my worry that Derek would go home. LOL
I only got see the first 1/2 because of the news and their tornado reporting in my area, but I was impressed by the first half. Of the first 6, Jack and Sherry seemed 1-2 points too high IMO. Sherry’s facial expressions were a little too over the top that they reminded me of Angelique Krylova an Olypmic Ice Dancer from the 90s.
Loved Roshon!!! He is so darn cute!!! After watching him, I excited to see how he can improve.
I don’t get the William appeal, but if he was called (and looked like) the Ewan McGregor of Latinos, I would go cray-cray.
Yep, I’m worried about Maria too, but I think she’ll get better! (she says hopefully!)
I probably stole your theory, Heidi! If you wrote it in the past week, it’s in my brain!
I agree about Sherri. She’s done the foxtrot before. I figure Maks will “spill the beans” soon, if Melissa doesn’t get any better! Sour grapes!
@Harriett -you can all view the dances at http://www.rickey.org
I think I predicted before the show started that they would overscore the foxtrots because those people have Jive next week, but I don’t know if anyone noticed it.
Well now you know!
@Harriett – And you can view the recaps and performance videos of DWTS at Mjsbigblog, they are up now. Just scroll down there is also a link for Rickey.org.
Way too many 8s….. I am worried the scoring is gonna get stagnant in the weeks ahead. All couples are great though. Nobody was terrible. IMO Maria and Martina were underwhelming. They danced perfectly good for 1st week dance, just everybody else was real good.
Donald’s dance was really exciting; but I seriously hope Peta will put more actual latin & standard content. Choreo is too showy. Donald’s attitude is amazing though. Also, wth was Peta wearing.
24 was too high for William. But wasn’t his cha cha good? I hope I’m not affected by what abc’s selling but I am sold on his hip action and footwork. Far from perfect of course, but imo he’s the least awkward male for cha cha.
Jaleel’s very entertaining. Katherine was amazingly smooth and graceful. CAI was way over the top. Do not compare contestants with pros please.
Gladys and Tristan ROCK!
Thanks for the links everyone, so I can see the 2nd half of the show!!!!!!!
How many contestants in present and past are of Asian descent? I can recall Kristi, Nicole, Margaret, and Apollo. It’s interesting that 3 (right?) of the past winners of DWTS are of Asian decent (Kristi and Apollo are of Japanese decent and Nicole is part Filipino). Margaret Cho didn’t fare so well. I’m just curious since Roshon is half Filipino.
Harriett, Hines was half-Korean, too. He was black-Korean.
I was so excited about tonight!! Very happy that Jaleel and Kym got some 9s but I think that might be kinda risky because it might make people think that the judges are always on their side and they’ll assume Jaleel and Kym are safe then not vote or split votes too much. I do agree, the 9s in the first week are really early but I’m still happy anyway lol.
Everyone did so much better than I thought, even Maria and Gavin! It’s so hard to predict who will go home but I guess we just need one more week to decide. I don’t know what’s up with the overscoring. Maybe people were complaining about scores not being high enough in the past during the first week.
Ok, I know this is really off topic, but I was on Youtube, and this DWTS parody came up in my suggestions. So, I watched this, and it was so stupid, I just HAD to share it
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKobmS11rCw?rel=0&w=560&h=315st
I think the Bruno guy is pretty spot on.
Katherine Jenkins deserved that 26. She was beyond amazing!!!!!!!
Now William I can already say that he is going to be the most annoying when it comes to judges scores. Carrie Ann and Bruno is going to OVERSCORE him every single week. It will be mainly on his looks and not the dancing.
And yes Maria Menounos and Donald Driver was underscored.
