DWTS Maria Menounos Suffering A Broken Rib, But, Staying Strong And Won’t Give Up
Several outlets today are reporting Maria is suffering from a broken rib. Below is a take from Fox News on it. Let’s hope Maria is ok for tonight and all will go well.
Word on the show is Menounos broke a rib during a hardcore rehearsal with Hough, who was teaching her the Cha-cha-cha.
A source close to the “Extra” host said, “She has been in excruciating pain for the past few weeks during rehearsals, but she is staying strong and working through it. She refuses to give up.”

Oh Maria, I hope all is well. I would have never guessed it as she has such a fun spirit and seems to be working through the pain.
These two are a joy to watch. The video of them dancing in the rain is just adorable. Their QS is looking great too.

That’s what I’ll miss if they get voted off, Dee – Derek seems to be having a blast without too much drama for a change. That rain dancing was so fun.

This injury might be why she was slightly stiff in her first dance in places. So, can you imagine when she heals up how they will dance? I bet these two will go far. They are having so much fun and I love the rain dance. I really look forward to their quirkiness and creativity.
Derek has dealt with partners with rib injuries with Lil Kim and Ricki. I am sure he is being as careful as he can with her, but no one has guided injured partners to the promised land as best as Derek has. Maria is a trooper. She never said a word and doesn’t want to talk about it. I love that … not trying to get sympathy votes. I am voting extra hard for them tonight.
Sure hope they show “dancing in the rain” in their package, tonight among other fun thingsthey’ve done. They are so cute together and I was so hoping he wouldn’t have to work around injuries this time but he is an expert on that by now. Hopefully they can deal with it creatively and she’ll be on long enuf to shine.
And #Heidi-me too. It’s so nice for a change and a lot of fun and seems to be reaching out more.

This injury actually explains a lot for me – because I felt that, not only was she stiff in their cha-cha, but that choreographically Derek kind of held back. I feared it was because she just wasn’t getting it, but if it was to protect an injury, than that bodes well for them improving
My thoughts here, Twick. Feared nerves and lack of hip played into that Cha Cha but an injury could as well explain the conservative movement and choreo of that dance. You don’t want an injury at all in dance, but a rib with the QS…OUCH! Hope she is able to grit through this one because it’s a dance me thinks she might really shine in.
mimi, you’ll have to ask the people that took the video that’s on my other site if their producer was even out there – I kinda doubt that was filmed by anyone other than fans and paparazzi, but you never know.

In one of their post show interviews, Twickenham, Derek straight up says he held a lot back – saving it for later. He’s also realized that he can’t do that anymore, which actually makes me a bit afraid of what he might do.
Can someone tell me what TMZ said? The sabotage theory they were touting?? I can’t watch the vid.

I haven’t watched the video. US magazine has reported today that Rob K was nearly arrested in Miami on the weekend due to a misunderstanding with a reporter/photographer. Apparently, TMZ was the first to report it. The only other possible sabbotage I’m aware of is that w/Sherri.
TMZ only reported that “someone” was hurt. They didn’t reveal the name (so they said) in case it was a false rumor. She seems pretty tough to me so I’m sure she is working through it as best as she can, all the while trying to not let anyone know.
she is such a trooper and an inspiration..i really like this woman..really really do…if she is hurt..kudos to her..because we didn’t hear about it and we didn’t noticed from her behavior ..she is always having fun and laughing…so, more reason to admire her determination!
