Chelise Hightower Discusses Ringers, The Judges, The Dancing With The Stars Controversies, And More
AM 600 WMT radio in Iowa chatted with Chelsie Hightower about ringers, the judges, and the Jaleel White controversies on Dancing With The Stars this season. She said there was a fight with Jaleel. They also discuss some of Chelsie’s past partners and how they were paired. Chelsie also tells them how there are talks where she might join “Shake It Up” on the Disney channel in the future. Pity Chelsie doesn’t give any details. Wonder how many fights have Chelsie had with her partners in the past. Too bad the interviewer didn’t ask her that.
DWTS Should disclose all the verbal and physical fights.
It’s kinda tacky to selectively pick who to run to the tabloids on.
It would be really Juicy to know who is really responsible for all of this. Some Babbler Mouth Tattle Tale….. They should tell it all. Tell it all, we want to know!
They should release all the footage of all the arguments and Fights of all the Contestants and Dancers….UNedited!

I think it was verbal- and it was bad enough to make them decide not to release it.
All the couples probably have disagreements and arguments, some more than others and then they make up and move on (will most of them)
Chance – Yes, you’re right. All of them have disagreements at one time or another. A LOT of those disagreements wind up in the rehearsal packages – like Maks hopping around like a ninny when Erin Andrews spoke, or Tony walking out on Kate Gosselin. The difference here to me is that none of those disagreements made the tabloids, but all of them made air on DWTS. Why not this one? It was discussed in a different thread that Jaleel might have veto power over what does & doesn’t make air, due to his custody case. That makes sense to me. But it doesn’t seem like the issue is going away anytime soon, and in lieu of the rehearsal footage, people will speculate that it MUST HAVE been really, really bad – so I think they should just air the tape, and get it over with…. anything else, and he’ll continue to get his helmet rung over it… but that’s just my opinion.
There are fights and there are FIGHTS. I agree they all have the first one…but not all have the second one. Fight or no fight, I’ve been getting a bad vibe from Jaleel since day one.
@Sally, I see your point about airing the rehearsal footage to get it over with because things usually blow over once people have had a chance to see for themselves. However, I’m going to play devil’s advocate here and say maybe it *really was that bad*. If that’s the case, leaving it up to speculation could be the lesser of two evils.
I doubt Jaleel has veto power -he ain’t all that and I wager that Maks and Derek are more famous than he is right now. I do think the producers aren’t going to go out of their way to make someone look bad if it was a one time thing.
I hope they’re doing something proactive to make sure it’s a one time thing. I’m concerned for Kym. Maybe add a big security dude to watch what’s going on inside the studio instead of just to keep the paps at bay outside.
Heidi – I can see both your points, but since the “event” (whatever the heck it was) has made the tabloids, *and* seems to be hanging around, then why not let the video air? Cidra also has a point – if it really *is* that bad…. Sigh, I don’t know. All I *do* know is that I’ve got a bad vibe about Jaleel, too. Bad enough to refrain from voting for him, even though I thought going in he’d win the whole she-bang.
I think Kym is well protected, didn’t someone say there is a cameraman in the studio at all times. And maybe it was not as bad as some have expressed.
As far as seeing a tape, I personally don’t care one way or the other. I don’t like him and I don’t need a tape to come up with that conclusion.
They do have other people in the room when they are rehearsing.
If something were to go down, I could see Maks, Mark, Derek, Val, Tristan, Donald, Gavin, and even Roshun {any of the Guys} running to Kym’s Rescue and opening up a can of Whup Ass on any Perp.
Hope it was only a one time thing. It would be interesting to know who Snitched?
The DWTS Snitch would have to be someone who was working in the building? Not some random Tattle Tell.
That being said, Wonder who will be the next Victim of the DWTS Snitch. They probably got loads of Juicy stuff to Snitch and Sell to the Tabloids.
The bad press is really a distraction.
Wish the DWTS Snitch would snitch about the upcoming Bogus Dancing Dual.
This Dancing for survival crap is just another way to give the Geni-Judges more power to get rid of who they don’t want in the Semi-Finals and Finals.
The judges are supposed to be judging, not voting for who they want to see stay in the competition. If they don’t like the dancing they should get up from behind the table and get on the floor and bust a move like the judges in that upcoming

They need to judge like they did in season 11 when they used the Round Stage. They gave one score for Technique and one for Performance.

Sally, I agree. He continues to give me such an off feeling too.
I really wanted to like him and I really like Kym so thought before the season started that he could go far. But it’s not really an incident per se that turns me off, it’s a general way of being and he’s an easy mark for the tabloids because of how he reacts. I think it was Evaine who said it like deflect the blame, and dance all around the topic. The business with his ex saying in effect that he’d take the high road so his daughter could be proud, all the while insinuating a whole lot of things about his ex. Some high road. Also, an interview that Vogue posted with Anna on Dance Junkie, she said in response to prodding on the topic of Jaleel, when you need therapy, do it on your own time. Her reaction made me pretty sure that something ugly happened. And the argument that Kym seems to be OK thus nothing ugly happened doesn’t hold a lot of water for me, as I think she might see her job as making her celebrity look good and trying to get him as far in the competition as possible. I’ like seeing people who are having fun and embracing the process and have a positive relationship with their pro go far.
Vogue, yes, I was clicking on the link. I’m pretty sure that it was Adblocker in Firefox that caused the problem there. But I don’t know why it didn’t work in IE. I did give it several minutes to see if it was buffering, but it never began to play. But I was just able to listen to it using Chrome.
