DWTS2012 Gavin DeGraw And Karina Smirnoff Talk About Melissa Gilbert, Their Next Dance, & More

Access Hollywood went into rehearsals to interview Gavin and Karina. They asked Gavin about his heroic efforts in carrying Melissa to the paramedics Monday night. He’s humble and said he just reacted on instinct. Karina says this is Gavin’s character for who he is. Gavin also talks about how surprised he is to make it this far on Dancing With The Stars. I didn’t really expect this, but they are becoming my favorite couple. My 5 year old, who’s developmentally delayed, can’t tolerate me listening to any of the videos, but with Gavin, he just pulls up a chair and laughs and laughs. He recognizes the heart warming quality in the man. And it’s such a pleasure to see more of the Karina I loved last season. She’s such an amazing dancer, and she’s obviously also an amazing person.

I agree with all of you. I’m becoming a fan of Gavin, too. I believe he is slowly getting more comfortable with dancing in front of all those people, and his performances will improve when he is less tense. It’s so hard for a shy guy. I bet he gets some of my votes this week!
