"Dance is the hidden language of the soul" ~ Martha Graham. That's what DWTS makes me think of every Monday night. To read more about me and my other interests, see Lisa Kay Photography. You can also follow me at Voguerista Twitter & Voguerista Soundcloud.
Aren’t Tristan’s glasses a hoot?
Also, I love Derek and Maks’ hair!!
Can’t watch in Canada 🙁
Nat, go to the official DWTS site – you can watch there.
Tristan and Gladys are just too.cute.
And Maks REALLY doesn’t want to do the dance duel, does he???
Love Tristan’s glasses they are so dorky but cute 🙂
Also really can’t stand Cheryl, she is the only pro that really annoys me..
^Thanks! I managed to see them
The only thing I’m troubled by in the confessionals this week, is that it seems to me like Cheryl was a bit upset at their scores. And I don’t understand why (have ideas….) because a 27 is actually a VERY good score! She doesn’t seem to even pretend right away that she’s okay with it!
Of course, I will admit that Cheryl isn’t on my favorite pro list, so I admit that it could taint how I saw it……….
If kym was anymore adorable I would die!!! I adore how she says the word ‘bright’ in this.
As for Cheryl……I love her but what has happened to her this season?? Weird. Also I have grown really fond of Roshon!
Cheryl just seems a little off her rocker this season…and I couldn’t believe how she just “borrowed” part of Derek and Maria’s rumba (on the floor) for Willys routine and then he just looked totally ridiculous kinda falling around on the floor. Instead of it being all smooth and sexy like when Maria and Derek did it, it just looked awkward. And then later she made some smart remark like “well, WE didn’t kiss, it’s hotter if it’s just implied”.
I really can’t believe how differnt she’s become.
Did any of you see Entertainment Tonight last night? They closed the show with a little clip of some guy interviewing William and Cheryl. He was asking her about hip action in the Rumba… She started off by saying the fringe on the dress helped, then looked at the guy and said “Any time you want to see my a$$ shake, give me a call.”…… Wow. Wasn’t it Court that was wondering just how “lonely” she is these days? 😉 That little response pretty much says it all.
Some guy was Steve Jones, ex-host of the US version of the X-Factor. And yeah, Cheryl was definitely overtly flirting.
We have the extra interview in our Media postings yesterday. Yeah, Cheryl is very different this season. I don’t know what to make of it.
And I love Steve Jones. I’m bummed he won’t be back to do the X factor next season.
I really like Steve Jones too, Vogue. Glad he’s got a new gig with Extra.
Am I the only one who has the D word on the tip of their tongue to explain Cheryl’s salacious behaviour lately????
I found Cheryl’s rather colorful comments about Roshon getting screwed by the judges to be odd too. Not because she wasn’t right (she was IMO) or because I was offended (I wasn’t), but I just don’t ever remember her being that…brassy with the media. Seems out of character.
Evaine – overtly flirting??? 😯 Seemed to me the only thing left for her to do was to trip Steve, and try to beat him to the floor! 😀
Cheryl made that comment about not kissing? Like she is being subtle with Will. Cheryl does seem a bit off this season. Maybe she is just too busy with her other commitments outside of the show.
Sally, I was trying to be nice. *LOL*
LOL Evaine!!! You are always so sweet! 😀
You know what actually really rubbed me the wrong way about Cheryl this week? When Bruno was critiquing them and said something along the lines of “you were built for sex!” and Cheryl suddenly acted all horrified, as if the very insinuation was preposterous and she was “not that kind of girl”. Ummm, call me crazy, but hasn’t she been the one trying to sell them as the steamiest couple in DWTS history since week 1? The raunchiness has been completly over-the-top. You better decide real quick just how you want to portray you and your partnership, Cheryl – because you don’t get to be both a strumpet and a saint.
Yeah, I had warmed up to Cheryl in the last few seasons… but this season I am just completely turned off by her. She might be the female version of Mark on the show … nice and calm one season, the next all in your face and saying/doing ridiculous things to turn people off.
@Elmari – I agree, last year was Cheryl’s breakthrough year, she was finally out of her slump and I had high hopes for her this season. Well those hopes faded quickly. I think she is out of control this season, along with her ridiculous dancing, she seems desperate, and entitled, like the judges/viewers owe her something.
@Heidi – Take care of yourself, an AT injury can take forever to heal, only to reinjure it again. No dancing for you!
Cheryl is what you would call a hypocrite. Think she might have taken lessons from Maks and Mark, eh? 🙂 I mean, come on! That crack about not kissing like Derek and Maria cuz it’s better subtle?? In what frakin’ universe is Cheryl Burke subtle?? Cuz it ain’t this one.
Lord, Sandy, I know. I have a limp that won’t quit now. Pain.Ful.
To play devil’s advocate for a bit…
Although I completely agree that something is up with her based on some weird and out of character interviews she gave I’d like to add something to the two issues mentioned.
First, the interview where she was coming on to the guy- it was a strangely uninhibited thing to say but listening to the whole thing I was more bothered by the stupid questions the interviewer asked then by Cheryl. To ask “When are you getting married and having kids cause you’re both so sexy?” without apparently knowing anything about their background (William having kids and being in a relationship) is really bad journalistic work.
Second, Cheryl’s reaction to Bruno. Was what Bruno said directed at him, her or both, I can’t remember?
I don’t think Cheryl has been pimping the two of them as the sexy couple. She has definitely been pimping him and she probably sees herself as a (lucky but nevertheless) tool for highlighting William’s sexiness. I don’t find him sexy but lots of people do and she is probably in her mind giving them what they want to see.
I don’t think it’s a smart decision (especially as she seems to be going a bit crazy right now), it’s very one-dimensional, but there IS some sense behind it.
The more I believe she is dealing with some issues right now the more I feel sorry for her and apart from the obvious “choreograph some content and quit with the pimping” complaint I don’t want to judge her too harshly.
Welcome back Miss H.! So sorry to hear about your injury! 🙁
I haven’t watched the interviews–but just from the show I know Cheryl is acting way out of charater. When I first started watching DWTS, she was my favorite. But it turned sour around maybe season 9. She seemed entitled a little bit, and it kept getting worse. And this season, I really don’t know what to think. I don’t. I always felt a semi-connection to Cheryl, given her history, her molestation growing up…as a woman who has myself been a victim of rape, to see her OF ALL PEOPLE acting this way…I’m flabbergasted. And disgusted. And I wish she would leave the show after this season, that’s how appalled I am.
