Bruno Tonioli Discusses Judging On Dancing With The Stars And How He’s Not Biased

Bruno Tonioli was a guest on Access Hollywood today. They asked him if William is his favorite since he gets up and goes wild for him after a performance, but, Bruno says he’s not biased. Below is his take on William…

“I don’t have a favorite. I respond to what happens in front of me. And, you know, you can’t deny it. He’s hot. Hot is hot. And he’s good. He’s actually good,” Bruno said on Friday’s Access Hollywood Live.

Known for his fun-spirited, and sometimes saucy comments (and hip rolls while delivering them), Bruno admitted he was unaware of William before the competition, but the Latino hunk has continued to impress on the dance floor, churning out excellent performances with professional partner Cheryl Burke, week after week.

“I had no idea who he was to be honest… It’s not just because he’s good looking. He produces electrifying performances, but you can be good looking and boring as hell. He’s not. He actually performs wonderful dances,” Bruno continued. “Hotness helps, but the hotness alone? You can have the hottest person in the world, the most beautiful person in the world and they don’t have personality, they don’t have depth to it. It’s boring. It’s like watching, you know, a mannequin.”

I’ve loved some of William’s dances too, but, I think there has been some favortism going on with the judging. Then again, we are all biased at times with our favorite dancers. So, can we not expect the judges to be the same? I don’t know…maybe if they weren’t picking on Roshon so much, I wouldn’t feel that way?

More for how Bruno feels at Access Hollywood. Hopefully they will have a video of this interview up shortly.

UPDATE: And here it is thanks to XKorita05 at You Tube (a good one to follow if you are a big William Levy fan)….

Roshon Fegan Talks Of Chelsie Hightower, Trying Harder On Dancing With The Stars, And More

Roshon recently told E Online that he’s taken “a couple back hands to the face”, an “elbow to the rib” and “a head-butt to the chest” by parter Chelsie Hightower in rehearsals. She’s “dangerous”. He also chatted about the elimination and how hard it was to be in the bottom two. Through it all, it makes him want to try harder. Here is more…

“She’s like a vortex,” he laughed. “She just doesn’t care. She spins out of nowhere, dives into me like a football player with no warning. I’ve kind of gotten used to it. I’m keeping my eye on her now. She’s dangerous!”

Fegan says “words can’t really describe” how tired he is from rehearsing six hours a day. Despite the rigorous practice schedule, he and Hightower ended up in the bottom two on this week’s show.

“It was pretty hard,” he admitted. “It was pretty jacked up. It’s not a feeling that you ever want to be in because being in the bottom two feels like you let your people down.”

But luckily Fegan was saved when singer Gladys Knight was voted off. “That was a bad feeling,” he said. “She was like my mom on set…we loved her.”

Fegan added, “With that, it makes you want to try harder and be on top.”

Love these two and I so hope they find themselves in the top three this week!

DWTS2012 Donald Driver Appreciates Len Goodman Being Hard On Him And More

Donald Driver explains to the LA Times why he likes to watch video footage of himself dancing. He also dishes on the competitive aspect and trying to get some “10’s. He appreciates why Len is so hard on him. See why below….

Q: Obviously, everyone’s goal is to get that perfect 30. You’ve flirted with it, do you feel you’re getting close?

I feel like we’re getting real close, but in order to get a 10 from Len we’re going to have to push ourselves harder than we have all season. My goal since day one has been to improve each and every week. If we do that, the 10s will come!

Q: I’ve watched all 14 seasons, and notice Len is usually hardest on the ones he thinks has a chance to win. Do you think Len is a little harder on you than the rest of the competition this season?

Len said it on Monday, he thinks I have the potential to be a great dancer. He wants me to fulfill that potential. I don’t view it so much as him being hard on me. It’s more like he’s pushing me to be the best I can be, which I love. I think we all need someone to give us a nudge and remind us we’re capable of doing more, doing better.

You can read more at the LA Times. I hope this upcoming week Peta and Donald will finally receive the 10’s they deserve!!

Just a reminder: Don’t forget this beautiful duo will be on The Ellen Show on Monday!

DWTS14 Maks Chmerkovskiy Gives Injury Details, Information On Classical Week, And More

Maks has written a new blog for TV Guide. He catches us up to speed on his foot injury. He has the green light to dance, but, he has Val with him just in case he can’t handle it. More below including some info on he and Melissa’s next dances.

First, I want to get you up to speed on my injury. Yes, I had an MRI on Tuesday on my foot. I have a lot of pain in my joints and ankle area. It’s not pleasant and I was hoping that there’s something that I could do to get rid of the pain. My doctor, who’s one of the best foot specialists in the world, warned me that I might not be able to continue if there’s a chance my injury could get worse. Luckily, I got the results back yesterday and he said I could continue, but I have to rest it as much as I can. It was completely not what I thought it was. He said, “You should continue, but don’t use your foot too much.” I’m like, “It’s not Sitting with the Stars!” In all seriousness, I am trying to rest it and take it day by day because I don’t want it to get worse. My doctor understands the profession and he is a little more in depth when it comes to treatment for those who don’t have the opportunity to stop what they’re doing. Right now, I’m hoping I will feel better by Monday.

That’s really all I can say about it right now. The show will focus on it a little bit more on Monday. I don’t want to milk stuff like this. If production decides to put in cameras in my MRI office, I can’t do anything about that. I think with these types of activities, injuries are normal. It’s nothing to highlight. Unfortunately, if I tell producers that I might be able to continue, that’s why they have to be present, so the audience can see what’s going on.

Val is here, so I’m gonna have Val come in to our rehearsals until I see how I feel. I’m happy I have the green light right now, but I’m a little worried. The range of motion that we do with our feet is so great. It’s not just walking, which is painful in and of itself. There’s also a machine called a bone simulator that’s supposed to expedite the process. I think if the pain doesn’t go away by Monday, then I’m gonna get a shot. The problem is, with this type of aggravation in the bone, the shot might make it worse. We’ll see how it is.

Next week is Classical Week and we also have a team dance. Our dance is the Argentine tango, so it’ll be a clashing of styles to the classical music. Even though Val’s here, it’s still my vision for the dance. I don’t want it to be a two-person thing. But to be honest, having another person just sitting here helps. I’m very stubborn. I don’t use outside help because nobody knows Melissa better than me and someone else might make it worse. But it is useful to have another set of eyes there and Val is very, very good. It’s all about maintenance. I want to maintain the direction we’re going in and what we’re doing.

You can read the full blog at TV Guide. Let’s hope all goes well for these two!! Being both Maks and Melissa have been injured, it has to be taking it’s toll. Both are such fighters though, so, here’s hoping for their best dances to come.

UPDATE: WLOS ABC 13 has a new interview up with Maks. You can listen to it HERE. He gets up really in the morning to talk about “Propel Zero Just Dance Off” battle taking place in Los Angeles this weekend. He also discusses the challenge to come up with new dances every week for Dancing With The Stars. He says Melissa is one of the best partners he’s ever had and lots more. They ask some cool questions.
