Tristan, you are one class act! Ok, here are my questions:
1. Besides your family and friends, what do you miss the most about Ireland?
2. If a person was travelling to Ireland, what hidden gems would you recommend to them to see besides the regular tourism places?
3. Who is your greatest dance mentor(s)? Who comes to mind first when this question is posed to you?
4. Take us up close and personal to your first competition dance and some of the most memorable? What were they like and when did you know you were destined for something bigger?
5. Which of the other pros have you known the longest?
6. Where do you get all of your cool t-shirts (which have become one of your trademarks).
7. What did you learn from Nancy and Gladys the most in knowing them?
Ok, that is all for now. I may have more later.
Which would be your favorite band to dance a pro number on the show?
What are your plans for the summer?
Hi Tristan, I think you are a gem
1. How long have you known Derek Hough
2. Which part of Ireland are you from.
3. When did you start dancing
4. What did you think when you were “upgraded” to the pros
5. How man siblings have you got?
6. If given the opportunity, would you go to England and do
Strictly Come Dancing?
ok that’s it for me!
Sorry just one more.
Obviously it should read how MANY siblings
Question – when you first came on DWTS, was your accent a problem for them?
how has the DWTS experience compared to what you thought it would be? how has living in LA (to what you thought it would be)?
what was it like, as a mere mortal, to give directions to The Empress of Soul? To tell her … no that looks really bad, let’s do it again … and again ….?
BTW, thought you always showcased Gladys in the most beautiful way.
My questions would be:
1) Of all the dances you’ve done on the show (pro numbers and with Nancy and Gladys), which is your favorite?
2) Do you ever feel overwhelmed by your fans’ support?
3) What’s the craziest thing a fan has done when meeting you?
4) What did you learn from touring with Burn the Floor?
5) When will you choreograph a pro dance on DWTS?
I think that’s all I’ve got (so far). 😉
Yay! Questions for Tristan! My question is: What do you think it is about you (aside from your charisma, genuine, pleasant nature, easy on the eyes, and superb dancing) has caused such a fan following?
Many Blessings and best of luck!
I have a question for Tristan,
Were your parents dancers?
What would you say to a young man to inspire him to keep dancing despite peer pressure.
1. Do you vote? If yes- did you ever vote for somebody other then yourself?
2. Are you comfortable with some fans voting for you regardless of who you’re paired with and how the person is doing?
Great questions all. Good job and thanks!
A couple more:
I know you love music. Who are your favorite music artists and what are your favorite albums to date?
Would you ever like to produce something for Broadway?
Who, besides Gladys, did you become really good friends with? Speaking of the other celebrities of the two, seasons you have been a teaching pro.
Meant to say Gladys and Nancy.
1. As an Irish lad, are you a Guinness, Jamieson or Magners person? Or do you have another Irish drink of choice?
2. So many DWTS pros have other talents. Other than dancing, do you do performing arts such as singing or playing an instrument? If so, what is your favoured style of music?
My questions for Tristan:
1. What was your favorite memory from Dancing With The Stars Season 14?
2. Of the dances you did with Gladys Knight, which one was your favorite and why?
If given the opportunity to tour nationwide, would you do it?
What are your plans after this season of DWTS?
1.) What’s currently on your iPod/CD player?
2.) Can you describe your process for choreography? What inspires you when you’re creating dances?
3.) Do you have any pop-culture “guilty pleasures?”
4.) Your tattoos seem to indicate your pride in Irish culture. Who are some of your favorite Irish performers/artists/writers?
Cheers!
WOW, so many questions for Tristan…but sorry I only have one.

What would you do if you didn’t dance?

Is there a reason you won’t go shirtless for a dance?(seriously you wear a shirt in every dance show us the abs please)
Who are you closest to on the show?
Since you did Burn the Floor before DWTS, were you ever in a show for Burn the Floor with any of the pros who also did Burn the Floor(ie- Maks, Karina, Kym, Peta, Sharna, Sasha)?
What’s your favorite genre of music?
okay that’s all I can think of for now. 🙂

Aloha from Hawaii Tristan! We love you here in the islands. My question is:
Who pairs the celebrity with the pro?
How is the pairing done (i. e. pulling a name from a hat etc)
Those are my questions. Hope you get a chance to visit our beautiful islands! Malama pono (God. Bless) .
I was just wondering if you have dual citizenship (Ireland/USA) or are you here on a work visa?? Also I was wondering what is the thing you miss the most about Ireland.
I think you guys have most everything covered in the great questions above, but I have one more:
Why did you tell Jimmy Kimmel that you’d like to see Donald win when he asked you and Gladys who you are pulling for now? Do you think he’s the best dancer left or are you close or what? Thanks!
1. Did Gladys sing during rehearsals and if so, what did she sing?
2. What’s up with all the music group tee shirts? How many do you have? Which one is your favorite?
Do you have a Gladys Knight and the Pips shirts?
Thanks, love your Irish accent!!
Who is your favorite pro to dance with? What has been your favorite dance so far in your dwts career?
What are your plans for life after DWTS?
For Tristan Mac Manus: Do you think anyone can learn to dance??
And I think you are just so adorable & such a gentleman!!! One other question….Did you ever think your dancing career would explode the way it has & that you would have so many fans (like me)?
I second Sam’s question (comment #21)!
could you ask Gladys if you and the two remaining pips can do a number together for the finale?
1.Which celebrity would you like to have as your partner on #DWTS?
2.Have you ever thought of getting your own twitter account?
3.Do you like Guiness?
4.What made you become a dancer?
5.Whats your favorite dance?
6.What music do you like dancing to?
7.Can you jig?
My questions for Tristan:
1. You’ve said it’s not about coming in first. So would it be hard for you to have an ultra-competitive celeb who was determined to win the Mirror Ball Trophy?
2. DWTS fans have fallen for you in a big way. Do you find the intense interest in your personal life daunting, and how have you learned to deal with it? It would drive me mad.
Hi Tristan,
First of all… If only I was 20 years younger….Oh, back to the questions. 🙂
1. What would you be doing if you were not dancing?
2. What was your most exciting moment on the dancefloor?
3. What was your first thought upon hearing that you were partnered with Gladys?
4. What is your favorite food? And are you a good cook?
5. Do you like the LA life? And how does it compare to Ireland?
Thank you, Tristan, You are amazing on the dancefloor. 🙂
Oh I just thought of another question I would like to ask, if Tristan wouldn’t mind…Are you fluent in Gaelic??
Hello Tristan! We know one of your favorite sports is soccer/football, but also understand there is some interest in Hacky Sack or “Hack”…how did the game become so popular with the Burn the Floor group, and just how good are you at the game? Since you play with cast and crew, do you think the dancers have an advantage? And, what is the deal with the fish and how many times have you received one?
Hi, Tristan!
What would you consider to be your dream job and where would you like it to be located?
Thank you!
Hi there,
My question for Tristan; what is your ideal perfect first date?
🙂
It seems that a lot of the pros like to get paired up with an athlete. If you could choose any athlete to dance with on dwts who would it be and why?
Secondly, will you EVER get on twitter and tweet fans? P-l-e-a-s-e?
– As a teacher, what are your what are your strategies for students to learn to dance?
– How hard was to choreograph a jive to “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” (With Nancy) and a tango to “Bohemian Rhapsody” (with Gladys)? (You did a good job, btw.)
– Just tell him he has a lot of fans here in Brazil and we hope he’ll be on DwtS next season.
1. Which dance would you recommend a beginner to learn first and why?
2. What is more important when learning to dance, coordination or musicality (being able to feel the music)?
Thanks for the anwsers.
Hi Tristan!
Thanks for answering our questions…you’re the best!
1) Will we ever get to have a good look at your tattoos?
2) What’s you’re favorite food?
3) Have you travelled all over Ireland? and, if so, other than your home, where’s your favorite spot in Ireland?
Thanks so much!! We love you!!
Hey Tristan! Here’s my couple of questions:
1.What’s your favorite dance style to perform? To choreograph?
2.What process do you go through when you get a dance and a song that do not compliment each other very well?
Great Job with Gladys – it was always a pleasure to see you two interact!
Question: Do you have a dance studio in the United States or in Ireland?
How many lessons should one begin with, when it is not an intense training such as DWTS?
Hi, Tristan!!!ever since I watched Dancing with the Stars, I loved how you can dance so well done and great job with Gladys!!!here are a couple of questions I would love to ask you!!
1. if you ever visited Sand Springs or Tulsa, Oklahoma
is it possible that you could teach me how to do
fast dances like the jive, paso doble, chacha, samba
etc.
2. which of these dances are easier for you to
teach a person?:)
you inspire me alot and always wanted to learn
how to do Latin and Ballroom dancing!!!
Hi Tristan! You’ve gotten a barrage of questions! Here’s one more…
1. I’ve gleaned that you have talents in all of “the arts”. Are you also a “student” of classic literature and history? If so, who are your favorite authors?
Keep those dancing shoes supple and shiny! 🙂
-What was your favourite part of going on tour with Gladys Knight? Least favourite thing? Any anecdotes / funny stories you can share?
-Where do you take your inspiration from when choreographing the routines and planning the costumes? (great job with Gladys’ outfits, BTW – she always looked gorgeous!)
-You are a football fan – how about other sports? Are you a fan of any North American sports – baseball, hockey, basketball, American football? Any favourite teams?
-Have you done/interested in doing any broadway? If so, what show(s) would you like to do?
-What do you do when you want to take a break from dance or relax?
Hey Tristan!
When you go home to Bray, are you treated like a celebrity or do you fall back into your normal life?
What song best describes your life right now?
Do you ever read the posts on your Facebook fan page and how crazy do you think we all are? 🙂
(We love ya! )
Thanks for the good times dancing and for answering our questions!
I’m so impressed with all these great questions!
I would like to know:
1) Are either of your parents dancers?
2) What got you interested in dancing in the first place?
3) What type of dance do you like best?
4) What part of Ireland are you from?
Thanks, Tristan, for all your wonderful dances, wonderful partnering with Nancy and Gladys, and wonderful personality. My grandfather was from Dublin so I love the Irish!!
1. Who’s your fave dwts pro?
2. Are you close with any dwts pro?
Do you have a favorite Irish actor?
Is the next season of Dancing with the Stars going to be an All-Stars version?
Can you confirm the rumors of DWTS All-Stars?
What’s with all the “Are you single?” comments?
1. What do you think of a Dancing With The Stars All Stars?
2. Who do you want to see back on the show if they had an All-Stars version?
3.Besides soccer, do you like any other sports?
How was it like dancing with Gladys compared with Nancy grace from last season?
Are there secret romances going on behind the scenes at DWTS?
What did you think about Maria & Derek’s kiss? Did you think it was gimmicky?
What do you think of the Dance Duels?
Will you appear on DWTS again if the producers invite you back?
Hi Tristan! What is the most memorable moment in your life that you could never forget?
Hi Tristan =)
1. Who do you think is going to win this season?
2. What qualities do you look for in a dance partner?
3. I was going to ask if you were single but a million girls already did. lol
How do you feel about girls asking if you’re single?
What do you think about your new found fame and “hottie status”?
=)
What has been your craziest fan experience?
Can you do an impression of a fellow Dancing pro?
What’s the difference between Irish girls and American girls?
Haha @Baylen. I love your question.
Omg Baylen. I hope they pick your question.
Do you think that DWTS should have new judges? Len, Bruno, and Carrie Ann bore me.
@rebekah (#52) LOL It’s pretty obvious what’s up with all those “are you single” questions. Poor guy must feel a bit like a prize buck during deer season.
Ok, guys, let’s stop with the “Are you single” question. It’s getting old asking it over and over again. Let’s not make Tristan regret saying yes to this interview. As you know, he doesn’t grant many.
Exactly Cidra. This might be one of the reasons why he doesn’t do many interviews.
Thanks for that Vogue! Tristan seems like such a nice guy. I’d hate for him to be made uncomfortable.
Seriously, Vogue! Well said! IMO, his personal life is his business, and if he wanted to talk about it publicly, he would. Can we not respect his privacy?
Personally, as you said, I’m grateful he’s doing an interview. You are right – he doesn’t do many at all! While that’s sometimes disappointing for fans, I have to respect that for him, it’s not about “him.” It’s about doing his job and making Gladys (or Nancy or anyone else he’s paired with) look good and have fun! 🙂
Amen Girls, I think I’ll just delete any more “are you single” questions and anything else that is over the top.
Adding: Ok, I just went through and deleted a bunch of the “Are you single” questions out.
Don’t mean to sound like the question nazi, but there’s also a question that asks about his relationship with Kym. Is that really necessary? Seems rude to me, but I tend to be a reserved person in that regard.
Thanks for being such a class act, Tristan!
Since dancing is your “job” do you like to go out dancing just for fun?
Best of luck in all you do!
Thanks Cids. Deleted that one too….and another I missed.
I read an interview where you said you liked singing. The interviewer did not follow up, so I want to ask “what style music do you enjoy singing, and are you a Tenor?”
Thank you!
New RULE – you must read all the other questions before you ask your own or I’ll start deleting duplicates. I’m getting very bored reading the same thing over and over again.
I wouldn’t worry about it, Cidra or Magnolia – smart interviewers know better than to ask dumb ass intrusive questions and don’t do it. Sure way to not get your question used?? Ask about personal life or about DWTS production or other pros. Use your brains, people – if Tristan answered some of these questions he would be foolish (and he’s not).
Well said, Heidi!
It’s been said a thousand times, but thank you, PureDWTS gals and John, for everything you do here. Hopefully new readers appreciate it as much as us “veterans.” 🙂
Thank you Tristan for agreeing to answer our questions, it’s truly an honor and very much appreciated. Thank you for bringing class back to the ballroom because raunchy is far too easy. I LOVED for rumba to the Temptations…I almost cried watching you bring David Ruffin back to life with your choreography.
I’d like to ask:
1. How long does it take to choreograph the routine from the time you get the style of dance and the song that you have to perform to?
2. Any chance we’ll see you dancing live on the East Coast i.e. NYC or New Jersey?
3. A while back, there was talk of DWTS moving to NYC, do you think that’ll ever happen?
4. Do you think there will ever be a show featuring the pros as the “stars” being paired with regular people like myself?
5. Any chance of you doing some kind of dance tour in the near future?
6. As much as you love Ireland, do you think you might ever become a permanent resident of another country, even if not in the U.S.?
7. Were you at all scared the first time you left Ireland to live and work elsewhere? I’d be terrified, but then again, perhaps it’s different for a female.
8. In the past, I read that the pros were paired with their celebrity partner based upon height. Is that still a factor today?
9. If you’re chosen for next season’s show, do you think they might pair you with a celebrity closer to your own age? I LOVE Gladys, she’s my girl and Nancy is great, too, but I don’t want you to get type-cast. 🙂
10. Do you ever find it annoying to have the cameras filming your rehearsals? Sometimes, I find it annoying that those “packages” show almost the entire routine before you ever perform it live for the viewers and judges.
Thank you again for taking the time to answer our questions and letting us invade your privacy. It’s very much appreciated. Thank you also for being such a positive light on the show and showcasing your wonderful sense of humor. That piece you did for Dance Center and the way you say tird instead of third is PRICELESS! I crack up every time I watch it. If ever I’m having a bad day and in need of a good laugh, I know exactly what to watch. 😉
Peace, luv & blessings,
Ciprianna
Thank you for all of the amazing questions everybody! I can’t tell you how thrilled we are by your support and enthusiasm. As I’m sure you all know, we can only ask Tristan a few questions, but I’ll do my best to cover as much as possible!!!
xoxoxo
Tristan, your truly one of a kind….I’m sure you’re a testament to great family and great upbringing.
Here are some questions:
1. What’s your guilty pleasure when it comes to food?
2. Are you a late bloomer or have u always caused such a stir? (we know your humble but be candid:)
3. What’s the one stupid thing that really gets under your skin?
4. Wine or beer?
5. What type of bloke are you, guard your heart or wear it on your sleeve?
6.whats BEST advice you’ve received from a friend? What’s the WORST?
Thanks Stuart! Can’t wait and have fun!! 😉 xxxxx
I have two specific questions:
1) What does he think Gladys’ best dance was?
2) If he could choose any dance from both seasons he has been on the show which would be his favorite?
What do you find more strenuous? Teaching a celeb a ballroom dance or you, yourself, learning a step-dance routine?
I just wanna know if his mother got to meet Gladys 🙂
Excuse me, I was one of those girls who was mentioned in the Val interview. Ok so I asked If he was single. There was only one person before me who asked that question and I did not see that person because I was on my iPhone. Don’t blame us because that’s a frequently asked question.
NO, we are NOT going down this road of having a discussion about comments and then you all high fiving each other. Forget it.
Oh, and I can see your ip address and I just checked. All those Tristan questions about his status?? All the same IP address.
I love my MacManiacs but all of you girls annoy me. Fine, so some girls asked if he was single. That’s it! Stuart is probably not going to ask him that because you girls are demanding. Sorry but this has gone way too far.
Gee, Natalie…posting under five different names?? Not cool. And kinda negates the frequently asked question theory. Consider yourself warned.
LOL….okay, so Natalie and Rebekah have the same IP address as well. Schizophrenia is alive and well in the Tristan fandom. I guess he’s made it.
Cut it out, sweetheart, or I will ban your IP address.
Geez, a girl leaves for a bit and look what I miss? 😕 Heidi, good job….and I was just looking at the posts I put in the trash can last night and they all have the same IP as well for what you found. 9 different user names with the same IP were all asking the same “are you single” question.
Also, that question might have been asked in the Val post, but, not as much where it was annoying people like in this one. When our regulars start to complain, it’s time to put a stop to it.
Dyann, good question…If Tristan’s mom got the chance to meet Gladys (since she’s a huge fan). 🙂
i got another one: What’s his fav tv show (besides DWTS of course 🙂 )
The clue was “all” of them showing up at exactly the same time, Vogue. Not smart. 🙂
Last question: Would he ever take the cohosting spot on “Live With Kelly”? My parents want him to take the spot 🙂
You can say that again, Miss!!
Mmm…I actually read every single comment & question before submitting mine trying my best NOT to be redundant. It’s also how I know some really great questions were left here. I, too, want to know the answer to that burning question, but there are other things that I want to know more than that such as Tristan’s charity work with DublinDown330 and how he got involved with this organization and what other charitable causes he believes in and would lend his name to. Questions such as these are far more important to me than someone’s relationship status, especially when I know I’ll never met the man. Just my 2 cents…
I hope you all work this out because I seriously doubt Tristan would want to see any of this bickering nor be a part of it.
Peace & blessings,
Ciprianna
that’s “meet the man”…tired after seeing some live ballroom dancing to comfort myself since Tristan’s elimination… 😉
@Ciprianna – doesn’t seem like they were referring to you. Several duplicate posts were deleted before yours appeared. Pretty sure that’s what the mods are talking about.
I sincerely apologize if any of the cranky poster(s) came from the FB page. I don’t tolerate that crap on there (discussing his personal, private life) and thank you for deleting the multiple posts regarding that.
And honestly, I take offense to anyone criticizing y’all because of all the hard work you put into this for the enjoyment of the masses. So again, if it was anyone that saw the post on the FB page, I do a mea culpa.
I think it”s time to close the comments down in this post. Thanks to those who participated and asked some really great questions.
The interview took place Saturday afternoon. It sounds like they had a really good time with Tristan. More coming soon. 😉
It had the odor of a planned invasion, Magnolia – but only ONE person actually invaded. They used multiple email addresses and names, but all had the same IP address, meaning they were all the same person. In fact, this Ciprianna person has an IP address that is really close to those of the deleted poster. Very curious. Vogue closed the comments on this post because she was tired of dealing with it.
[…] you haven’t been calling me like I keep asking you to, I resorted to submitting questions on Pure DWTS and I am SO THRILLED you answered one of my questions. They even said my […]
