Tony Dovolani Goes Into The Dancing With The Stars Semi-Final Rehearsals (Videos)
Good Morning America asked Tony Dovolani to go into rehearsals for the Dancing With The Stars semi-finals to see how the couples are handling the pressure. William and Cheryl bicker like an old married couple. Mark says Katherine is never a drama Queen…well, sometimes. Donald brings enthusiasm, determination, and laughter to every step. Maria and Derek have played with injuries, but, are always pushing the envelope…and finding time to laugh silly too. Lots more fun below with Tony!
Tony handicaps the couples in this coverage. He predicts one of the girls are going home tonight.

As much as I don’t want to, I have to agree with Tony. One of the women won’t make the finals,
but I haven’t a clue which one. We’re in for a wild night. 
I’m excited and scared at the same time. Aargh!
If Tony is right, if one of the girls go home…it wont be maria. Thats all im saying. I like katherine, but it wont be maria. I have a feeling she’s gonna rock it tonight! But who knows? Tony could be wrong….on dwts things can take you by surprise
For me the great unknown is how the Stooges will choose to score the dancing tonight. If they get too manipulative, the viewers will go off the deep end. At that point logic and reason might as well take a vacation. I hate it when that happens.
IMO Maria is the weakest of the competitors. Derek’s choreography may be great but am afraid the execution will not be as awesome as Katherine, Donald & William.Maria’s saving grace would be the judges’ scores.She’s been overscored w/ prior weeks so I won’t be surprised to see # 10 paddles for her.
Well, there’s weak and there’s weak. I think in some ways – such as getting the emotion of the dance – Katherine is weaker than Maria. It’s all well and good to be technically proficient, but if the audience doesn’t connect?? You get Mya. I don’t think Katherine is as bad as that, but I think it’s highly debatable that she’s stronger than Maria where it may COUNT.
I have 3 favorites, Maria is one of them, but not the only one, and while I very very much appreciate what Derek brings to the show, I’m not a “Derek drone” by any stretch. But I have to argue something here, it’s NOT a dance competition per se. As has been said, if you want a real ballroom competition, go watch one. This is an entertainment show. And those 2 (Derek and Maria) are really bringing it in terms of entertainment. I think some of their dances have been stunning. I also think Donald and Peta are very entertaining and I think Katherine and Mark have produced some beautiful dances/performances. Any way, I don’t think there is a weakest link, they all have some kind of strength going for them.
Tony is really funny and sweet
. I hope he’ll get a partner like Katherine next season. He can’t show his personality too much on the show because he usually goes home in first weeks. I wish he was paired with Sherri Shepherd.
