Misty May-Treanor For Dancing With The Stars All-Stars Season: Yes or No?
Misty May-Treanor has been campaigning hard to be on the Dancing With The Stars All-Star season coming up. Below is her reasons for wanting to do so for what she posted at her facebook page.
Hi everyone so wanted to write to ask you to vote to get me back on Dancing With The Stars. They are having an All Star show this Fall.
1. I would love to finish what I wasn’t able to when I was on the show the last time
2. I wasn’t voted off
3. I would love for my husband to see me dance and compete
4. I want to perform for my fans!
As you might remember, Misty is a two-time Olympic gold medalist who withdrew from Dancing With The Stars 7th season after she tore an Achilles tendon in rehearsals. She was paired with Maks at the time.
So, what do you think? Would you be open for Misty to be picked to come back for the Dancing With The Stars All-Star season? I say bring her on. Below is she and Maks doing a fun Mambo which says it all.

i agree, @Magnolia. I would love to see Misty May-Treanor to complete her season. I’d also love to see Jewel Kilcher complete her season, as that would mean Ty Murray in the house!!
She should get another chance to be on the show; however, not during an All-Star season. The All-Star season should be for the contestants that actually competed and performed well.
I’ve always wanted her to come back. The Olympics will have just ended, so it’s perfect timing for her to do the show again! I thought she could’ve won her season.
On a totally unrelated note, what’s the difference between a Mambo and Salsa? To me (with no ballroom experience at all), it looks like there may be some more footwork with the Mambo.

Of course YES. All 140+ contestants are eligible. Is it wise for her to come and dance right after the Olympics? I don’t know.
I totally thought season 7 was Misty’s to lose, so I was gutted when she had to withdraw. Absolutely yes to her coming back. Maybe not with Maks though.
@Howard – Biggest difference between mambo & salsa: mambo breaks on the 2, salsa (usually) breaks on the 1. So mambo is danced hold-2-3-4, and salsa danced 1-2-3-hold. Mambo is also more rigid and requires more attention to technique – salsa is a bit more lax. Make sense?
I think that the all stars season would be the perfect time for not only Misty but all 3 celebrities that were injured and couldn’t compete like Jewels and Nancy O’Dell as well this way they can compete and not be called ringers cuz they had some ballroom training before they were eliminated they maybe at a slight disadvantage especially Jewels and Nancy O’Dell since they never got to perform so we wouldn’t know what to expect from them, as for Misty if they cast here i would love to see her do the styles she didn’t do first before they give her any repeat styles.

I say a big resounding YES to Misty May-Treanor coming back. In fact, I wouldn’t mind for Jewel or Nancy to be back, but I agree that it wouldn’t really be an All-Star season with people who didn’t compete at all. However, Misty did compete and danced PDG and showed real potential before she was injured and had to pull out. If they’re going to be calling back “controversial characters” then there’s absolutely no reason for Misty not to compete again.
However – this time I’d like to see her teamed up with Tristan ;p
This is AWESOME! I thought she would win her season before she had to withdraw from the competition. plus thats one athlete that doesn’t stop or give up until she gets what she wants so she would work really hard to getthe choreorgaphy down. A s far as I’m concered, if Maks doesn’t wwant to dance with her give her to tristan.
Misty should only be on if she brings us home the Gold;-)
All Star does seem like the wrong name for this next season. If it is going to be called All Star, then they should only bring Top 3 or so. From what Tom described it’s more of a Famous Star or Popular Star season as opposed to an All Star.
Did you see that Survivor’s bringing back 3 contestants next season that were air lifted out because of injury. I bring that up since that’s kind of what you’re describing with all the injured stars above.
@John: I saw that about Survivor too. All that meant to me was Colton Cumbie would be back and thats a scary thought. He was pretty much as devious as devious got and he might be worse than russell when it comes to making friend/allies. But back to DWTS
I agree. I think saying all stars is a loaded phrase. I rememeber top chef all stars and that worked out really well so I have hope fro dwts all stars

John, I agree with you, this does’t seem like it will be all that much of an “All Star” season. Maybe TPTB will surprise us, but I’m very afraid of what we’ll end up with. I just hope there are at least one or two people for me to root for. I’m imagining a nightmare scenario here! But I suppose it is best to expect the worst in this case, so that maybe I can be pleasantly surprised.

YES, YES, and YES again!!!! I loved Misty and felt so bad when she had to withdraw. Plus, I think she is one of the most famous stars they’ve had on the show in 14 seasons. I had her and Jerry Springer on my wish list once I heard the All Star season would be happening! Since Jerry already said no, I’d love to see her on!
Personally, I dont think so. Just my opinion. Prefer to See Mel B back with Maks. Just keep praying that the ABC Producers dont screw this All-Star Season up because that would be a complete shame!!!
Maybe ABC down the road will have a Gone-Before-Their-Time DWTS….. Those who got eliminated too early and those who got injured or whatever and had to withdraw. Like Misty and Sara Evans.
I’d love to see her back but not with Maks. Maybe with Tristan or Val.
She reminds me of Hope. I actually liked Hope, however Misty looks like she’s got more natural talent than Hope can ever dream of having. That Mambo was actually pretty good. I hope she’s back. It’s a shame she had to withdraw because of her injury.
