I'm a fashion and music nut....and I have always loved dancing too of any kind. Dancing With The Stars seems to have this way of bringing all of those things together. Derek Hough (one of my favorite dancers) said at a recent Get Healthy event that ‘dancing’ is an outward expression of what is going on inside you. A thought just occurred to me, perhaps he never wanted her as a girlfriend and she never had a choice about it. I’ve had a couple of male friends who would kill for me, who love me, who love to be around me and who weren’t in love with me, as I’ve had some male friends that I loved and was not in love with. Of course I don’t know them at all or the situation but maybe she’s gotten a bad rap over something that people misunderstood. ?

Violet, I sad *rap* not rep but I can see how easily it appeared that I was saying she had a bad reputation. Didn’t mean that at all and I really like her as well. I more meant that people might assume she chose someone else over Derek and maybe even think she made a bad choice, when maybe she didn’t even have that choice. I kind of wish I hadn’t even made that comment at all because mostly I think it’s their business even though I did get caught up in thinking how wonderful they were together. Glad they’re friends and I still enjoy watching their dances over again.
Sorry, Jess, I did misread what you wrote. I agree with you, what they do is their business and none of us know if they were ever together or not or even thought about being together.
Maria’s in a 14 year relationship with a guy who seems to be a real asshole. I HOPE Derek has learned not to go there to begin with.
Saw a picture of her dancing with Mel Gibson (of all people). Must be nice to be famous enough to have someone else foot the bill for your birthday party… He would be the last person I would want at my birthday party
I forgot to post this after I watched the tony awards but wouldn’t Derek be a great fit if “Nice Work If You Can Get It” ever became a movie? Thats the one show that really wowed me based on the short scene they perfroemd that night.

Heidi – Have to agree! I thought before that there was a chance between the two of them, maybe in the future (Derek has said in an interview, he doesn’t want to be ‘that guy’). But after that HS interview, I thought that – well, they’re great friends and will probably stay great friends, but that’s it. I don’t see the potential romance anymore. I see buddies having a blast.
I can be wrong, we’ll see.
