If you haven’t heard yet …on July 4th, Dancing With The Stars host Tom Bergeron will be hosting the “Capital Fourth” on PBS at 8:00pm Central time. Below is an awesome promo he did for it. You can see another and more serious side of him as he recalls what the 4th of July was like when he was young and why it means a lot to him now. See if you enjoy this promo as much as I did. He’s so cool!
Pictured above is Kym Johnson. The dancing pro of Dancing With The Stars was pictured at the EA SPORTS Madden NFL 13 Pigskin Pro-Am pre-party on June 21st in Chicago, Illinois. Other stars and athletes who attended the preliminary activities were Chris Carter, Josh Henderson, Matt Forte, Vivica A. Fox, Alison Sweeney, Barry Sanders, and Donovan McNabb. You can see more pics of them all at Zimbio Pictures.
A couple of weeks ago, we told you about Brooke Burke Charvet’s new line of lingerie called “intiMINT“. Now the Dancing With The Stars co-host has released some of the shoot and what happened “behind the scenes” with the photographer Yu Tsai.
William & Cheryl – 4
Jaleel & Kym – 2
Katherine & Mark – 1
Gavin & Karina – 1
All of them really they were all so much fun – 1 (Vogue, did you write this one in? 😉 )
None. Even if it was a shocker, I wasn’t disappointed because I wasn’t rooting for them. – 1 (And I thought I had a hard time this season!)
Courtney: This is always an interesting category, because I think certain people interpret it in different ways – some people seem to vote for the most shocking elimination, some people vote for their favorite couple (because it would stand to reason that their elimination probably would be the most disappointing in their mind!), some people vote for someone in the finale that they felt they didn’t place high enough. *shrug* To each his own. I guess I tend to vote for the couple whose elimination seemed to illicit the greatest emotional response in me – and I think that often gets colored by how that couple fares throughout the season. My knee jerk reaction with this one was Roshon & Chelsie, but then I realized by the time they got sent home that they had been beaten up so badly by the judges week to week that I was almost relieved that they weren’t going to have to endure it any longer, and I wasn’t going to continue yelling at the tv in frustration. I was kinda sad to see Gladys go, for the simple reason that I thought they really kinda screwed her in the end; I was disappointed to see Maria & Derek go, because I thought they could have delivered a much more entertaining performance in the finale than William & Cheryl. But in the end, as surprising as this may sound, I think I was actually most disappointed to see Jack go – because at that point in the season, I wasn’t totally jaded by all the fishy stuff the judges were doing, and I thought Jack was one of the stronger male dancers in the competition and I wanted to see more from him. I guess by the time Roshon & Maria’s eliminations rolled around, I was kind of “whatever” about this season as a whole, so it didn’t bother me quite so much – but I was definitely upset by Jack’s earlier ouster.
Vogue: My feelings in this category stumped me too. I thought this award would go to Roshon all season, but, he actually stuck around until the right time despite how harsh the judges were on him all season. In the end, it was a toss up between Martina, Jack, and Sherri. Who did I pick? Sherri!! Yes, Sherri. At first I had my misgivings with all the cheating stuff and then she started wrapping me around her finger with how funny and compassionate she was about learning how to dance. She was so into it all. When she cried during her elimination, I cried too. She was so thankful to her fans and the experience. I also loved it when she said to take on the things you are most scared of and how that can make you the happiest in this life “on the other side”. Remember that? I melted. I was sad to see Jack go as well because there was potential there and he was just an all around nice guy. I would have liked to have seen his message about adoption and finding his daughter played out more. Then there was Martina. I was really hoping to see a retired tennis champ and one of my tennis mentors really take over the dance floor “mentally” somehow like she did tennis and her competitors somehow, but, I was more disappointed in Tony than in Martina. I will always wonder if she had another partner, would she have done better? Maybe not?
Heidi: Well, believe it or not, I don’t think I voted and I don’t think I was really disappointed to see any of them go – I’m a glass half full kind of woman when it comes to Derek and partners like Maria. Maria was not a natural dancer, but she worked so freakin’ hard and wouldn’t give up and had so much fun and made Derek have so much fun that it’s probably one of my favorite partnerships. But really, with someone like Maria and Derek I end up just being grateful that they made it as long as they did. Sure, I much preferred them to William and Cheryl and they would almost certainly have brought more to a free style – but Maria had a great run. And it was a more successful season for Derek than it was for Cheryl, that’s for sure. Despite all the pimping, Cheryl couldn’t get past third place. Derek, on the other hand, took someone that he thought would be eliminated in week three or four and found a way to make sure she stuck around in a season where she could have easily been forgotten in the William/Katherine mass pimpage. Katherine being the only one worthy of such pimpage. 🙂 Well, yes, I was probably sad to see Jack go…and Gladys…but disappointed?? I dunno. Hellooo? Katherine and Mark were not actually “eliminated” – they just didn’t WIN. Geez, greedy much? 🙂
Divadom at it’s finest and even when flying. Pictured above are some recent pictures of Dancing With The Stars pro Peta Murgatroyd arriving at LAX after a trip from Miami for the Pensacola ‘Life’s A Dance’ event. Peta is wearing a dress from the Tolani Collection. Gorgeous as always. You can view more pictures of Peta at Zimbio Pictures.
Also, Sun Of Hollywood caught up with Peta while in the airport. They asked her a few questions on Dancing With The Stars, dieting, and where the Best Dancers come from and she said the “Ukraine. Cute.
Special Note: Peta is now in London rehearsing with Derek Hough for something they won’t give any details about until a month from now. When we find out more, we’ll be sure to let you know. In the meantime, feel free to speculate?
Derek and Peta will also be dancing this Sunday at the Mohegan Sun shops. Go here for more information and be watching Pure Derek Hough closely for any and all information on Derek as our Miss Heidi will have the ‘goods’ in more detail soon. 😉
Heads up Maksimistas and Maksimistos! The Dancing With The Stars pro will be a guest on Bethanny Frankel’s new talk show tomorrow (Friday). You can read a little write up on it here. You can view a teaser clip below as well. This will be fun as one topic they will discuss is dating. Hmmm? 🙂
ADDING: Bethenny has been updating her You Tube channel with clips of Maks and this show. Keep watching this link for more.
Recently, Dancing With The Stars Tony Dovolani had some fun on the basketball court with some spectators during halftime charity fundraiser basketball game. The contest was between deputies from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and the FWB Fred Astaire dancers who helped to raise money for the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranches geared to helping troubled teens stay on the right track. This is so cute. Check him out….
Also, Tony was recently featured in People Magazine with his family for a Fathers Day feature. Several of you sent pics of a blurry scan. If someone is able to get a clearer scan, please send it to us. We’d love to feature it.
So, what do you think of Cheryl Burke in this dress? Last night, she graced the Red Carpet at the 2012 NHL Awards at the Encore Theater at the Wynn Las Vegas. Other stars and hockey fans who also attended the event were Matthew Perry, Vince Vaughn, Colin Hanks, Will Arnett and Tracy Morgan. You can see more pictures of Cheryl at Zimbio Pictures. She’s also in the Red Carpet footage below where she mentions Dancing With The Stars a little and how she needs to be a house in Las Vegas.
This news is from Celebuzz. I’m not sure if Cloris is serious, but, you never know?
“I want to be [on it]!” the 86-year-old told Celebuzz at the Critics’ Choice TV Awards. “I was voted off on the sixth show. It was good that I was voted off then — I got kind of tired and it was appropriate. I was getting fours and fives from the judges. I thought that wasn’t quite fair — I thought I was better than a four! Four and three quarters, at least.”
I liked Cloris, but, I think I’d rather see the better dancers compete. What do you think?
Ryan Seacrest interviewed Drew Lachey on his radio show today. Drew made an announcement for how 98 Degrees are reuniting for a performance this summer. He also talks about fatherhood and doing Dancing With The Stars again. More below and thanks to PureDWTS reader Jane for sending this news to us. I loved Drew when he danced. I’d be game. How about you?
On ‘Dancing with the Stars’:
Being the season 2 champ, will Drew be coming back for the All-Star cast in September? “I don’t know. I think it’s happening in September, so I’m sure they’re a long way off from finalizing the cast. I don’t know if they’re going to bring back winners, whether it will be runners-up, I don’t know. It’s something I enjoyed doing, I had a blast doing it, I’d be open to doing it again, but I just don’t know how it’s all going to play out. We’ll have to wait and see,” he tells us.
