The Derek Hough In London Mystery…and Dr. Phil?
Out of all the pros on DWTS, Derek Hough is, without question, the one most likely to keep you guessing as to just what in the hell he’s doing at any given moment. I don’t think they make them any tighter lipped than Derek. On the one hand, I find the discretion/humble-ness/whatever it is very refreshing in terms of both DWTS pros and celebs in general….but as a Derek fan it’s enough to make ya nuts. 
Why is he in London AGAIN, so soon after a mystery project with Peta (one part of which we think is the TV show Red & Black)? Well, he’s been to Wimbledon, and he’s been to The Brompton Club (see below, courtesy Cozy Cot)….but beyond that, Derek fans haven’t a clue. And he ain’t tellin’ except to say that it’s 3:30 in the morning and he’s watching UFC.
As for Dr. Phil – well, he’s not in the show promos, but here’s what the Dr. Phil show site says for Wednesday, July 11th:

I wonder if this has anything to do with what Julianne mentioned in one of her recent interviews. “I’m doing another film (Safe Haven which she is doing now) and my brother Derek and I are creating a couple of TV shows and live shows.”
Maybe he’s seeking a little privacy?

The Olympics are coming up in a couple weeks, wondering if it has something to do with that. Maybe he is performing or choreographing for the opening ceremonies…pure speculation on my part, just a thought.
Katherine Jenkins lives in London. That would certainly be enuf motivation for me personally to ‘pop the pond’
Right after I posted the previous comment, someone tweeted an article from the UK Daily Mail online that Katherine Jenkins’ had a belated birthday bash last night. Not only was Derek in attendance, but he rode in the same car as Katherine.
I’m starting to wonder if he’s seeing Katherine too. But, it could be they are just friends and are working on something together as well …new music video?
He sure is the “mystery” man. I kind of like that he keeps some things to himself. BUT as a fan we have this “need to know”.
From the London presses sounds like the party was greatand the pictures of Derek are beyond gorgeous.
I was wondering about him “seeing” Katherine. Quite a distance for a romance but you never know.
LOL – seeking privacy?? If one is seeking privacy the LAST place one goes is London. And Derek, of all people, knows this very well.
Derek and Katherine?? As much time as they’ve been spending together lately it does make me wonder a bit, but I think it’s more likely that he’s working on something over there and that makes it convenient to hang out with Katherine.
They would make a cute couple. Katherine rreally has a similair personality to him so it would be a good pairing.
I think Derek is the last person to admit when he is “seeing” someone, even when it’s common knowledge, he really hesitates to admit to dating anyone. Remember, he never said publicly that he was dating CC…
And the distance between London and LA? He’s done it before for a woman.
I must say, I do like Katherine, which surprises me, because I didn’t want to like her. And, while HUGE improvement over CC, she still strikes me as someone who is a bit “needy…” which seems to be a pattern that he needs to break. Shannon always struck me as needy, and very immature. CC? Well, I don’t think I need expand on that, do I? And Katherine is coming off a broken engagement…
I hope he breaks with pattern, and finds a strong, independent woman, who can stand on her own 2 feet, and support herself, but still wants to stand BY her man. A true partnership.
Wish we knew what he’s doing in London, it’s definitely work related, because “Derek Hough ” and “taking a vacation” rarely occur in the same sentence. He’s a workaholic, just like his little sister (who I THINK bailed on a vacation because filming Safe haven started). Anyone remember the last real vacations Derek took? South Africa with a GF. African country with same GF who contracted malaria. Bali? with GF, and they split within a few months following, or so.
LOL Lori – Derek had been living with Shannon for months before he admitted to even dating her. As for Cheryl – he admitted to having “a special person” in his life when I saw him in Nashville, and he also admitted that he was not single when he did an appearance in Texas – this was at the time he was with Cheryl. So, he will admit if he’s not single when he’s not on TV – but he didn’t name any names.
I’m beginning to think the man has a bit of a “knight in shinning armor” complex. Ah well – Katherine is a big step up from the last one. And, some guy claims he saw them kissing at the music festival this evening.
Alot of magazines wrote that in season 14 Katherine and Derek were an item. There were no sources named so you really could not prove it. I have a feeling they are seeing each other but who knows for sure. They are both insanely attactive and so talented. I admire and respect Derek because he does keep everything so quiet. Not an easy thing to do being in the public eye!
H, I knew both, about D living with Shannon for months, and saying that he wasn’t single, while with CC. Almost mentioned both in my post, but decided against it.
Yes, Katherine is a GREAT step up, but still…. That KISA complex….*sigh*
KISA complex, spot on! I thought Katherine had no baggage but now I remember there were rumors her ex-fiancé abused her physically and mentally.
I think she is lovely and huge step up from those Stephanie Pratt rumors. Though I doubt that one.
I think the Stephanie Pratt thing was Derek being a 27-year old male in a night club. Period.
And really, I was thinking that Katherine was a big step up from Cheryl Cole.
I like Katherine (I agree…a total step up from CC). I don’t see Katherine as “needy” so much. I see her more of being sensitive and soft. I also see her as gutsy more than even she might think ….being she’s made a great career for herself as a classical singer and it took guts and independence to come to a foreign country to do DWTS. I also see her as a class act like Derek. Like Derek, she knows how to rise above and stay humble (she was so good for Mark in that way). They are both so sweet and appreciative of their fans. Wow, and can you imagine what their blonde hair, blue eyed babies would look like…what’s more, what their babies would be like growing up around one of the best classical singers and ballroom dancers in the world?
All I could think is these two should head to Broadway. They would be terrific on stage performing together too.
well they are making people wonder! first meeting up in london, then vegas, now back in london where they were spotted out at the bar, concert, and now tonight a low key dinner just the two of them (thanks to some kind tweeter who stalked them:). Plus, when D is being serious about someone or something he rarely tweets it, he becomes incognito where as with Maria they tweeted everything bc they were having fun and nothing was going on- other than Maria loving some of the attention!
I agree with you there, Kristin – Derek has a very obvious M.O. when he’s dating someone. He goes pretty much radio silent.
As far as I can tell, he’s been with Katherine every day since he got there – although he’s been so silent that I’m not even sure what day he went. I know he went to Wimbledon two days in a row, but before that? No clue.
I was kinda hoping he was meeting with Simon Fuller again, since he was also at Wimbledon.
So I was reading up on broadway shows thata re coming soon and a lot of tehm are coming from England. I wonder……
If I am right (I’m probably wrong), I just hope it’s not Matilda the Musical lol (it sounds pretty cheesy in my opinion)
Heidi- even she has been radio silent! until today that is…but she is starting to act like him! She tweeted all week long leading up to him coming there (he was in the US on July 4th since Mark pranked him at the gym with his car) but i believe he left on the 5th and has been there since. That whole week she was tweeting about all her events, posting pics, etc…then D. Hough got to town and NADA…just a pic of a cake that said “yum”…LOLOLOL. have fun kids…there is something def going on!
so random thought…Tom tweeted that in just a few weeks DWTS fans will have a summer treat….D & Peta doing something with the Olympics???? i can’t see how, but maybe closing ceremonies or something? He won’t be there for opening- he has that Dizzyfeet on 7/28.
Whatever Peta and Derek did was filmed already so if it is related to Olympics, which would be pretty exciting, neither have to physically be in London. That would be pretty exciting if they did something for the London Games. Would be even cooler of Derek got to meet Danny Boyle, who is putting the opening ceremony together. That is wishful thinking on my part. Always hoping Derek can meet great directors. Love to see him work with a director like Danny Boyle or even like Rob Marshall.

I do admire Derek’s sense of privacy. It drives me crazy as a fan but I so respect it.
They seem to be having a great time together. Don’t know if its true that they’re dating or not but I’m shipping Derek & Katherine. They make such a stunning couple. I would love to see them dance together-ha ha!!
Me too and thanks Dee! I think they are a beautiful couple (in and out). I always felt leary with CC and I don’t get that feeling with Katherine.
