Maks Chmerkovskiy Dishes On New DWTS All Star Season, New Pros, & More
Celebuzz has a new article up where dancing pro Maks Chmerkovskiy comments on the upcoming Dancing With The Stars All Star Season. He can’t wait to see who he gets for a partner. He also says there will be some new pros on the show this Season? WHA?? It’s true. Read some more details below.
“I can’t wait to see who I’m going to get. I’m going to have a great time… This is going to be the first time we don’t start from scratch but pick it up where you left off.”
What else can fans expect this upcoming season?
“We have some new pros, [as] some old pros won’t be coming back,” he coyly revealed.
“The advantage is going to be with the couple that was on a recent season… If you’re going to be paired with someone coming back from Season 2, he or she is probably going to have a bit of a harder time getting back into it than someone who was on the last season.”

Maybe because some of the celebs were paired with the likes of Alec and Edyta?

Yeah, not sure what I think about this one. Celebuzz isn’t exactly a bastion of accurate reporting. For one, Mark claims to not know if he’s on the show yet or not, so why would Maks claim there are new pros replacing old ones? For all we know, he could also be talking Troupe. OR, maybe Maks is totally talking about himself – that is, he has told them he won’t be back so he KNOWS that there has to be at least one new pro.
Well, we already have new pros to dance with Alec and Edyta partners….Peta, Val, and Tristan. So, that isn’t likely the reason. More likely some have decided to sit this one out, for whatever reason, or the producers are slowly cycling in new blood.
I thought he meant that the new pros (Tristan, Val, Peta) would be here to partner the stars whose former partners are not on the show anymore (Edyta, Julianne…) but I don’t know, it could mean new pros too! Exciting !

Maks phrases things strangely sometimes. I took the new pro comment like Manny did as in Val and Tristan. Old pros could be a reference to Louis. I think there are a couple pros who could use a break but I don’t feel like the All Star season is the time to break in first season pros.
I thought he was talking about new pros being Tris, Val & Peta as being replacements for some of the pros that won’t be coming back. Brand new pros would make things really unfair. And I don’t expect to see Teddy or any of Maks’ group as pros in the future. Seems to me that window has closed & TPTB have decided that Burn the Floor dancers are the way to go.
When are you guys gonna do “pro watch”?
I’m cool with any pr that has been there a while not coming back as long as derek, tony, maks, kym, karina, and anna are there.
That sounds very plausible. That Maks meant new pros like Tristan and PETA who will be taking spots of older pros like Edyta and Alec. I am one who does not really care about the troupe. Whether they join or not, I could care less. If anything, seems like SCD took pros I would love to have as new pros on dwts. Henry and all seem nice enough but I will take Pasha or Artem ( I am aware his ex of Carrie Ann makes that not possible) over any troupe member. If they are adding pros, please make it Anya or Iveta. I loved Iveta’s partnering with Russell on sytycd.
I’m not rooting for new pros, not this season anyway.
Its the All Star season and I’d like to see the pros back that helped DWTS become what it is today. Just my feeling.
Of course if they have better opportunities I’d understand. Other than that, why change up now???..
I just can’t warm up to Maks. His attitude usually stinks, his choreography is forgettable. Thank goodness for television remotes. Time to release the anchor and set him free and he can take Cheryl with him.
I wonder which pro or pros hold the title for the largest number of seasons on the show?
Pro watch is going to be tricky. I imagine I will start it on Friday.

Maks can keep coming back onto my television screen as much as he wants to and it still won’t be enough. I rewatch so many of his dances especially those with Brandy and Mel B. I liked several of his with Erin, as well.
I interpreted his comment to mean that just because a celeb is on it doesn’t mean he/she will have the pro they had at the time. Guess we’ll find out soon.
