Ok, gonna point out the elephant in the room here: why is Kirstie’s body almost completely obscured by Maks? I agree that it’s a cute picture, but it looks like she’s gone out of her way to make sure we can’t see much of her. Has she experienced some sort of dramatic weight loss/gain? Really, I’m just kinda pissed that I can’t really see the costume. *pout*
@Courtney I’m thinking she has lost a lot more weight since DWTS ended and she wants to “present” her body when the show starts. I bet that will be part of her “package.” A good way to promote the weight loss product she sells too.
@Winter – Ok, sounds like a good plan, but fans are going to be expecting some initial rehearsal footage to crop up on shows like Extra & The Insider – are Kirstie & Maks just going to forego that initial coverage in order to keep her figure a secret? Or will they only video her from the neck up? Just seems like a big hassle for something that may or may not make a huge impact. Now if, on the other hand, she is trying to keep her figure a secret because she has GAINED weight, I think she would be highly motivated to keep herself under wraps and try to lose as much weight as possible behind closed doors before the show starts. I could be wrong, but I feel like I heard she had gotten slapped with a lawsuit with regards to her organic food line – I guess they had accused her of lying about only losing weight through Organic Liasion. So perhaps the weight gain has legal implications, and could cast OL in a bad light.
I have to admit – Sabrina & Louis do look good together
my snark comment of the day: from the rehearsal studio arrival/departure pics, it doesn’t look like Kirstie has lost a lot more weight. She looks good, don’t get me wrong, and she does seem to have kept the weight off. My off the wall guess at this pose: her costume wasn’t ready in time for this shoot.
I can’t wait for the actual inside-the-rehearsal footage and I know Vogue won’t disappoint. Woot Woot
I agree with you Courtney. This is a cute pic, but I want to see Kirstie’s dress and figure! I thought she looked great in the rehearsal pics.
Sabrina and Louis, meh. I don’t want to start the season biased, but I don’t really get this pose. JMO
It does seem like Kirstie is less visible than the rest of the celebritites….no interviews, no new pics, etc except arriving to rehearsals. I think she’s hoping to blow people away with a slimmer figure at premiere time too. I admit….I’m kind of liking this mysteriousness about her right now. One plus working in their favor is that it and their humor together will set them apart from the rest.
If you go back in DWTS Gossip’s Twitter timeline, you’ll find a link to Kirstie and Maks’ single pics. She looks great! Now, I suppose some of that could be photoshopped though. Anyway, they’re out there.

We have seen Kirstie walking to her car so I’m thinking Maks’ body, as bulked up as it is this year, couldn’t hide her bazooka.I agree with whomever said they think it’s about the lawsuits. She hasn’t lost any weight since last time she was on. In fact, looked to me like perhaps she gained some, which doesn’t bode well for her miracle drink. Her rejuvinated face looks good though.
I think Kirstie’s obscurement in the pair photo is for comedic effect as she looks great her single photo floating around. The dress is easily recognizeable even to my clueless, short-termed memory eye, likely due to is infamous association.
Love the ingenius photo of Kirstie & Maks. Vogue’s right, these two stand out in a unique way, which will be critical this season. Meanwhile, “The Chosen Ones” are trying a bit too hard to me. Something about their promo pose sets off my creepiness alarm in much the same way as that Peta & Ron Artest (or whatever the Hates he’s calling himself today).
I love Kirstie and Maks’ pic but not really loving Sabrina and Louis’ pic. It looks good not great. I have a theory about Kirstie’s pic. I think that she has lost a lot more weight and has cha cha again in week one and is wearing the same dress from her first season again and wants to surprise people.
Just saw the individual pics.Yeah thats not the same dress. there goes my theory lol. The individual pics looks great though. The best out of the individual pics has to be shawn johnson though. She really must have loved that oufit.

@vin – Keep in mind that the costume department has been know to hack up, bedazzle, dye, and otherwise alter costumes. And they wouldn’t reuse her original cha-cha costume again for her week 1 cha-cha this season – the celebs all get brand new costumes each week (direct quote from Randall Christensen). The only time they wear dittos is for the promo shots.
Kirstie has definitely gained some – not all – of the weight back since her last stint on DWTS. I’m sure she’s trying to look as good as she can in preparation for her return. It explains the mysterious trips to Europe, this particular photo, and a host of other things going on with her right now. I empathize with her – there’s a whole lot of pressure for her to look good now that she’s lost it. Kinda like when Oprah would lose the weight and then in a few months it’s like, oh, darnit, it’s back.
LOL, she can’t really hide as there are recent photos of her online… Her face looks cute though.
Kirstie and Maks’ picture is OK-I really don’t like her so its hard to really enjoy it. Not sure the pose has anything to do with her weight at all. IMO they were just trying for something different like Mark and Bristol did. Whether you liked the pose or not, people noticed it and I think that is what they are going for.
Love Sabrina and Louis’ picture. I personally think its my favorite one of this season.

Although neither of these couples are in my top half, I do like both the photos. I think they benefited from going last, getting to see the other pairs and having time to think about doing something to try and stand out. Also, they benefit from knowing each other, they look less stressed/forced than some of the others. Maybe even the photographers were fresher, able to take/allow more time??
I think Kirstie looks great, even if she did gain or lose weight, it’s obviously something that will always be a struggle for her and I have a lot of respect for the I fall down, I get back up, I fall down, I get back up… approach to life.
You guys probably saw this before me but someone told me that some of the celebs on twitter (I don’t have a twitter) are saying that week one is either foxtrot or cha cha cha (Kirstie has foxtrot apparantly and Apollo has cha cha cha)

Fun picture of Maks and Kirstie! I think that is how they hope to stand out this season. They know that she won’t be the best dancer, so they are trying for most entertaining.
LOL Louis’ individual pic looks like he is about to take flight! Is he some sort of rare bird? Does he need an air traffic controller?

Sabrina looks good in this pic, maybe slimmer than she was last time she was on the show? I imagine months of dancing in Vegas would help. Unless that’s just the pic and not the reality. But if she has it might make her lines appear more refined, which I felt was a bit of the problem last time (along with her constantly hard dancing).
I hate to be the Debby Downer but these are two of my least favorite couples. Hope they are both eliminated quickly.

There are recent photos of Kirstie online going in and out of DWTS practice. She is not hiding for some big reveal. She actually looks the same as she did when season 12 ended.
I LOVE Kirstie and Maks pic! So cute. I love how she really seems to make his personality shine. IMO he really does seem to be a teddy bear but some women just seem to draw out a side of him that isn’t so pleasant. Not that I’m excusing him for his own behavior but certain people just tend to effect others differently.
I kinda like Sabrina and Louis pic to but I am still jaded that Carson wasn’t the 13th contestant. And isn’t her outfit Kym’s from a pro dance or something? Seems like I remember her or another female pro wearing that.
I know I’m the minority, but I actually hate Kirstie and Maks’ picture. It looks silly, not like a dance pose at all, and just…odd, IMO. This is even less of a dance pose than any of the other promo pics.
I like Louis and Sabrina’s. Louis looks kind of weird, but I like Sabrina’s pose, and I think she looks great. I’m more excited to see Sabrina dance than I though I would be. Maybe it’s because there aren’t a lot of couples I really feel I want to root for this season, but I sort of think I’ll be rooting for Sabrina and Louis.
@Violet – While I like Kirstie & Maks’ pic, I too found it odd and rather forced…which made me wonder if she was trying to hide something. *shrug* Guess not.
I think Maks and Kirstie’s photo is unique. Never have seen a couple pose like that for a DWTS shot. It suits them. Sabrina and Louis? Meh. It’s cute, but I’ve seen this pose so many times before.

Sabrina and Louis’s pic is more appropriate but I find something strange about her splits over his leg combined with her expression and squinted eyes…she looks uncomfortable or something. I’m just not digging their pose I guess.
