DWTS15 Troupe Update: Dancing In India and Australia, Black Tie Affairs, And More
So, it’s official. Dancing pros Henry Byalikov, Sasha Farber, Sharna Burgess and Emma Slater will all be returning for the new All Star Season of Dancing With The Stars according to their twitter and Facebook accounts. Oksana Dmytrenko hasn’t confirmed, but, I think she’s returning as well being nothing has been said otherwise (let us know if you know more?). Sadly, Kiki Nyemchek will not be returning. It’s going to be interesting to see who fills his spot. Any ideas or wishes? I’d like to suggest Jonathan Platero! More on that in a sec.
In other updates on the Troupe currently. Henry just got back from Australia. He helped with the new season of “Dance Academy ABC” due to air in the middle of 2013. Things are really starting to happen for this fan loving Troupe member. It’s going to be a big year for him. Don’t forget how he helped and is starring in one of the most anticipated movies of 2012 to be released soon “The Great Gatsby”.
Oksana has had a busy summer doing several black tie events. Below she danced a rumba with “So You Think You Can Dance” pro Jonathan Platero to Beyonce’s Sweet Dreams at a recent event. Incredible. Can you see why I think he might be a good replacement for Kiki?
You can also watch Oksana dance at a recent showing with Derek Hough at Pure Derek Hough. They are way steamy and so powerful.
And then there is Sasha Farber and girlfriend, Emma Slater. These past weeks, the two have been lighting up India in their version of Dancing With The Stars. According to Sasha, the episode with them airs this weekend. Check out this cool coverage of them. It’s fun to see Dancing With The Stars catching on in so many countries and how it’s different for the way they compete too.
And, last but, not least, we can’t forget about Sharna Burgess. You can see all of our recent updates with her here. She recaps her summer with us at this link. What a star as recently she also helped kids on skid row have a fun day and get them ready to go back to school. Stay tuned! According to twitter, Sharna will be filming her first commercial. I’ll be curious to see what this is all about.

Must say, Oksana of the Killer Hair was throwing herself around just as much as she was whipping that mane of hers. There’s a lot of pop in that little package. Her hair looked really sleek and shiny in the clips on Pure Derek Hough. If it always looked like that, I think I’d like it better. Unfortunately, it more often tends to look dry and over-processed (at least to me).
The Indian DWTS was definitely different.

I’m pretty sure he’s the 3rd guy in Troupe this coming season.

You said it. Oskana’s hair is horrible especially above. I know I may ruffle up some feathers with what I am going to say…. But.. In my opinion, I find that long “Cousin IT” hair distracting and somewhat rude to your fellow partner. It is always smacking around their face and quite honestly, I don’t think I actually saw one dance step that Jonathan made, all I was looking at was Oskana’s dang stringy hair and those dark black roots. Yuck!
I kind of agree with both Sandy and Cidra, that hair is so distracting and scene stealing in an unattractive way. Man, that Jonathon is strong, there were a lot of beautiful lifts in there. I know she must be in incredible liftee too to make that all work.
I don’t really care what Oksana’s hair looks like, damaged or dry. Her hair is funny and I only watch troupe dances to see who gets hit with it next. When Mark got a faceful of hair last season, my hubby and I started clapping. I think the troupe is unecessary most of the time but I would miss Oksana and her hair if she didn’t come back, for visual comedy alone.
Jonathon is doing Mi Sueno es Bailar, spanish version of DWTS, along with Ryan DiLello, so i dont think he will be doing DWTS since the season starts next week. Its great abt Sasha and Emma, but darn enough with the RT’s, we get it, you were great but stop already !! JMO

@Carlos Yes, Ive havent seen Mira Quien Baila, but im looking forward to seeing Mi Sueno .. when it starts on wed and seeing Jonathan Platero and Ryan Di Lello, they both have me interested in seeing the show. Ryan i saw in vegas and Jonathan i saw in SF in Ballroom with a Twist
To replace Kiki, I though of Nick Bloxsom-Carter (this could work), Stanislav Savich (probably not going to happen though), and Damien Samuel (SYTYCD Australia contestant in season 2…….i only watched that season online the other day becuase someone told me how good it was and he really was a standout)
I doubt they’re going to be able to get Nick this season – pretty sure Nigel keeps all of the SYTYCD kids on a pretty short contractual leash for the 6 months following their tenure on the show, in case he wants to tap them as an alternate for the tour…but mainly so they don’t try to capitalize too much on their buzz from the show. Can’t have them getting famous without Nigel getting his cut of the pie.
Plus I wasn’t all that impressed with Nick on SYTYCD – he seems to have a lot of maturing to do with his dancing. It’s no secret that I don’t think particularly highly of the troupe, but at the same time I don’t think they should be putting just ANYONE in the troupe, either.
I thought Stanislav had the personality of a wet mop. I’d rather have his sister, Faina.
If they continue to follow the pattern of previous castings of the troupe, I think they’ll probably end up casting a former Burn the Floor cast member – or maybe someone from the Vegas troupe, since the show is currently on hiatus.
I loved, loved Armen Way from the vegas troupe. Thats my wish right there. That would be the only way i would watch the troupe. I usually fast forward them when they are on.
What about Damian Whitewood for the troupe? Now this would be cool too.
Vogue, I like Damian a lot, and would be delighted to see him back on US DWTS. I thought he was great with Daniele Spencer on Aussie DWTS last season and feel they should have won. That said, I think bringing him back as a troupe member would be kind of a “demotion”. He was a pro with Pamela, and putting him in the troupe now (which seems to be a “farm team” for DWTS pros) is kind of like saying he has to audition all over again. Just a thought.

The only person I would be opposed to seeing as a member of the troupe or on the show at all in any capacity is Brian Fortuna.
Faina Savich would be great for the troupe though! I wonder if they wopuld ever add another female dancer too.
