Is The Judging For The DWTS All Star Season Going To Be Different? (Video)
Today People.com posted a video of Dancing With The Stars Hosts Brooke Burke and Tom Bergeron dishing on ” the insane level of competition on Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” this season. Even more interesting is that they also talk about how the judges might have to “tweek their standard of judging” since they can’t start giving 9′s or 10′s the first week, etc. You can watch the new video at People here. Thanks to Lori for the heads up!
Wow, I’m not sure what to think? Does this mean they might get really picky straight off. If so, that’s fine with me as long as they are FAIR!! Let us know what you think. I’m so glad I started stocking up on Pinot Noir in July and I don’t drink?

I hear my mom in head going, “We shall see what we shall see.” *LOL* Like you, Vogue, I just hope for fairness.
LOL yep, we shall see and not long now! Oiy! lollll
I agree, be strict, above all else, be fair! Judge them all by the SAME criteria. No need for “individual journey” type judging especially this season. They ALL know what they’re getting in to.
When I remember the Maria’s jive last season…BLEARGH!
I hope they judging better this time. It’s gonna be a tough season…
as long as everyone is graded on the same scale, I’ll be happy. But we all know Mom knows best …… we shall see what we shall see! Hate to be cynical but unless someone has had a serious talk with the judges, i fear we’re in for the same teacher’s pet judging as per always.
I have a feeling this will be addressed on Monday night’s premiere, though. Maybe Len will give a little speech about whipping out those hardly ever used even when justified low number paddles
Like everyone else I just want them to be fair. No pets, no tongue baths just because, no nitpicking to get a rise out of somebody. No judging on “your own scale”. But I would LOVE for them to be tough, as long as they’re treating everyone the same.
However, I don’t think there is a chance any of that actually happens.
My only concern with that is what if a couple does come out Monday with a routine worthy of a 9? Of they dance 9 worthy, they should be scored accordingly. Some of these people barely saw anything below an 8 on their original season.
What no crotchedy old Len, no lift police Carrie Anne, and no totally outrageous and sometimes inappropriate Bruno…. Never!! LOL
Seriously though, I am curious to see what tweeking will actually be done, and if it will hold true for ALL the couples or just a select few.
Afraid I have to go with Violet on this one
I’m with Violet and jimmbboe – I think the judging will be whatever TPTB wants it to be.
I’m hoping against hope that the dufuses in the front office have decided that there’s no need to somehow skew the demographics this season, since it’s an all-star season.
I’m also hoping for consistent, fair, tough judging. However, I’m kinda wondering if these three judges are capable of doing that throughout an entire season.
I agree, don’t care where they start with their judging on numbers, as long as it is FAIR across all people. I hate how they judge skill on some, showmanship on others, credit ‘getting through’ an issue for some (Kirstie’s shoe), but punish others for flubbing something with wardrobe.
Should we start a poll on who will get overscored, underscored and ‘Macchio’d’ during the course of the season??
The judges lives would be so much easier if they just judged by the normal standards for content and execution but like someone else said….don’t think they are capable of that or TPTB don’t want them to.
Lol, just because it’s the so called “All-St
