Aw, I love Anna! it should be interesting to see how Gilles and Drew respond to Peta and Anna. Both of whom are much more relax and loose in rehearsals than Cheryl who was laser focused.
New York Post printed that Maks is leaving the show after this season. The funny part is fans saying “he’s doing it for votes just like Derek announcing he won’t be back. They want to win so badly they’re trying for sympathy vote.”……seriously?LOL !! Then there’s the, “he’s gonna try to do a movie because Derek did.” Ummmm, supposedly Karina did an episode for a sitcom, as did Derek a season or two ago. Mark does music and videos, Karina is in Eric Benet’s video, Derek is in the studio…..they can’t ride this “gravy train” forever, of course they have to move on.

The article mentioned a reality show with Val. Wonder if Val won’t return or if indeed there will be a reality show if they will film around dwts or incorporate it.
On the bright side, if Maks & Derek leave, Tristan might (MIGHT) get younger, more fit celebs lol

I wouldn’t be sad if Maks and Derek left. I like to watch them both dance, but I’m not a huge fan of either. IMO (and I know I will be in the minority here) it could make the show more fresh. I wish Cheryl and Mark would take a break, too.

Judging by the pre season media including these rehearsal photos I get a feeling Apolo has this one in the bag. He is trying to perfect his moves in every picture but doing it while still occasionally smiling. Gilles and Sabrina look pretty but are too serious all the time. Especially Gilles&Peta, those two are like mannequins with their (lack of) expression. And chemistry.
Between those two, undoubtedly excellent dancers, I would even give a slight edge to Sabrina but that’s maybe because I dislike Peta.
Shawn looks good but when I see her all I can think is girly, cute, bubbly. It’s hard for me to take her seriously for the more sensual or powerful dances.
I think Melissa will do better then expected, I get a feeling she has a very good attitude towards doing the show and is also a very decent dancer.
I don’t have a lot of confidence in Kirstie, Bristol and Drew. Of Kelly I know nothing of so I can’t say. She’s a mystery to me.
That leaves Emmitt, Joey and Helio as, I guess, middle ground players. All three have their distinctive qualities (Emmitt is cool, Helio exuberant and Joey somewhere in between those two) but I can’t see them as full packages.
I could be wrong about everything but I would at least be very, very surprised if Apolo didn’t make the finals.
I don’t mind Maks too much, except when he pinches Tom B. But I’d be very happy if the “golden boy” makes his exit. Lots of other good dancers out there. JMO

And I have to say judging just on the pics from their rehearsals this is going to be an epic battle between Joey & Kym and Apolo & Karina!! Plus Derek & Shawn look great and I think if Helio can pull out votes like last time him and Chelsie will do well too!! This season is going to be amazing!

@Heather – That would be incredible to have the final 2 of Joey and Apolo once again.
Derek mentioned it once in one interview and never tweeted links to an article about it. He almost mentioned it in passing, although I do think it’s true. Maks, on the other hand, seems to be making a bit more of it – but I don’t think it’s for votes. I think that’s kinda stupid. He could be making it known he’s going to be available soon. Derek doesn’t really need to do that because I think he’s been doing a lot of auditioning, etc to prepare for his own departure. I guess we’ll see.
