I love DWTS so much! I think you can tell from my poems:):). My favorite pros: Tony, Max, Val, Dmitry, Jonathan Roberts, Kym, Chelsea, Julianne, but as a group they are fabulous! I love and am in awe of the pro numbers, their fantastic talents! I can only dance in my heart, cannot dance at all. Well slow dances I suppose.

I love the confessionals, probably one of my favorite features of the show. Some observations:

OMG Kym and her boobage… Where does she keeps those things when its off season…

I hate Louis with Sabrina, I think he will irritate me more this season that her. Go figure!

Helio is just so dang likeable, Only time will tell if the viewers feel the same way as I do.

Someone I am “friendly” with in Alaska claims that a relative of Bristol is saying Bristol has wanted to dance to Gretchen Wilson’s “REDNECK WOMAN”. She wanted to do a country dance to it for her freestyle last time and Mark said no. She loves this song. I saw where she told George she got a song she wanted for quickstep apparently.

Not 100% on my “source” lol, but you ladies will get song spoilers soon (if not I’ll have to wait for Monday lol ), so I’ll know if the person was right.

Wow in that confessions this week it saddens met the annoying ones were Apolo and Karina. I thought others would annoy but they didn’t. Watching vids from the show so far this season this all star season lacks stuff from left to right.

If you go to the new Elimination Interview post, you can hear Bristol talking about the song. LOL to it being “Redneck Woman”. Sounds just like the song she might be talking about. lolll

Okay, someone just texted me that they were on the “TeamBallin” bandwagon season 11 and that while Bristol was on GMA with Mark, Lacey, Kyle, Jen, and Derek a question from a fan was asked and they can’t remember exactly how it went, but Bristol said if she did anymore dancing it would be as a backup for Gretchen Wilson or Blake Shelton. She continued to say her favorite song and video was “Redneck Woman”—and they cracked up laughing at her. I listened to the song on you tube and I can see them using it. I can also see why Mark wouldn’t like it.

Although I despise it, country music is enormously popular and could further endear her to her demographic and set her apart from the other celebs if it works well – if it doesn’t, well we could be seeing our next train wreck.

Just youtubed it – a fabulous contemporary country song IMO. If Bristol likes it – and it seems to fit – it might help her dancing. Good detective work, sheery – even if the source turns out to be wrong, Redneck Woman surely sounds plausible for Bristol’s fave.

Sheery, I can’t believe you posted that. Because after I watched that Ontheredcarpet video of Bristol talking about dancing to her “anthem” Redneck Woman was the song I guessed immediately! It had to be a country song and It seems like the type of song she would choose and I think it goes well with a Quickstep. It would play into her personality. It certainly fits her lol. Plus she said the female singer was sort of well known and Gretchen is not as well known as Taylor, Carrie, Martina, etc. Guess we will see.

Man am I the only one having naughty dreams for Val this season? He is just soooo sexy and sophisticated and well mannered. Nothing like Maks. He may become my favorite male pro once Derek leaves. He finally has a partner who will allow him to show how good he can be. I actually think he did as good a job with Elisabetta and Sherri as he could. Elisabetta sucked week 1 and had a very nice quickstep the next week but her lack of fanbase nulled the improvement. Sherri annoyed people but I still think Val did a good job with her.

Interesting. I love Apolo. But I fell their chemistry right now is very forced. Like they are trying too hard. But I always feel that way with Karina

I never thought I’d love Emmitt as much as I do and I’ve never seen Karina or Apolo for that matter look so excited. She and Apolo are a perfect fit, who would’ve thought? Both these couples bring a smile to my face. I also love Derek and Shawn although I wish Derek would stop treating her like a kid. She’s a beautiful woman and not all that much younger than he is. He needs to embrace it imo. I bet they would sizzle. These are the only three I’m enjoying right now. I’m still holding out for Joey though. I think he’s going to surprise.

Val came off looking like a dumb schmuck with that comment about Kelly working in a hospital. Wouldn`t he had googled her to get some info. Sometimes it feels like Kelly is irritated with Val. I want her to go far but this partnership just isnt convincing me yet. Whats up that pattycake stuff? He looks like a goof ball.

I actually found Val’s hospital comment endearing. The pros are people too, and have their “duh” moments (see: Chelsie Hightower) LOL

I LOVED the patty cake between Val and Kelly. IMO, they seem to have such a fun relationship already, and it’s a joy for me to watch. I hope it stays that way, especially if she makes it far and the competition gets mega stressful. I really liked the partnership between Karina and Apolo as well. Mark and Bristol, actually, seem like friends and a good partnership. I really do have to give Mark kudos for that. Melissa and Tony get along great, as do Maks and Kirstie, Emmitt and Cheryl, and Joey and Kym, but that is all to be expected, they’ve been partners before. Helio and Chelsie were kind of cute together, but there was a tinge of it being forced, to me. They seemed the most natural in that embarassing clip of Chelsie.

Partnerships that I didn’t love so much–Drew and Anna seemed to have a weird vibe, which I did not expect at all. Gilles and Peta seem like they’re going to force the “we’re the sexy ones” until I’m just sick of it, Shawn seemed to me like she found Derek annoying with all the short jokes, and I myself am not but about 2 inches taller than her, so I can see where she’s coming from. I’m sure it would drive me batty, too. Pam and Tristan were just plain uncomfortable to watch and I’m glad I don’t have to anymore. Louis and Sabrina I think are going to wear on each other fast. I want them to do well, but I think they’re going to both be so hungry to get to the top that they end up fighting.

I’m excited to watch all of their relationships grow, though.

I loved Val too. I love his humbleness. I think it’s sad how some fans to the show and the media always tends to act like he’s always second rate to Maks when he’s just as good or a better dancer than Maks. Possibly a better teacher too. I’d love to see him and Kelly win this season to garnish him a whole new level respect. Don’t get me wrong though. I love Maks as well. I hope he has a great run with Kirstie, but, from the two, I would say Val has a better chance of winning or placing higher this season.

Probably just me, but I feel like Maks isn’t being very competitve and just letting Kirstie’s personality take over so far this season. Which I guess makes sense, this is Dancing with the STARS, after all. But they just don’t seem very serious about putting in the work. Could have been the way their package was edited as well. She is funny, but I don’t find myself rooting for her at all.

Shawn’s a “woman”?? Um….okay. LOL – I would be FAR worse than Derek on her. I love Shawn, and love her as Derek’s partner – but there’s no getting around the fact that she IS a youngster. Age 20 is only a “Woman” if you’re 19, IMO.

Sure would like people to remember Ricki and Jennifer’s ages as well as they seem to remember Shawn’s.

I don’t particularly like Val, but I believe this partnership is his best yet in terms of ability. The paddy cake thing is getting old fast though, a lot like Derek’s short jokes. I agree with Voguerista that he’s highly talented, but much like his brother, he’s not able to think outside of the box so it’ll be interesting to see if he can keep up the momentum he and Kelly have.

I’m shocked by Anna’s bratty behavior this season. I do not like her atttiude in that confessional. I have to say she has paid her dues and should have been given Gilles as a partner, but poor Drew. Peta’s personality is way too bland for Gille’s laid back personality anyway. Anna could have brought out a spark like Cheryl did with him.

I can see both sides of the “Is Shawn a woman at age 20?” argument. I think the thing that hinders her there is her height, which obviously can’t be changed. She also acts pretty sweet and innocent, but she can get her jabs in on Derek too! She compared his height to his ego in one of their interviews, which I thought was funny.

It’s early yet but here are general impresssions of new couples thus far:

I think Val is not all that different from his brother, just more subtle. His relationship with Kelly seems forced and contentious to me. Gilles & Peta and Drew & Anna seem flat. Apolo & Karina and Helio & Chelsie a bit deliberate. Sabrina & Louis annoy while Derek would do well to calibrate Shawn as a young lady rather than kid sister.

I want to see all the couples do another dance before I decide who “is in it to win it”. As far Maks goes, I think he was frustrated before this season started, because he knows this will be another season he will not win.

Well, it’s very possible that Derek feels too weird looking at her as anything other than a kid sister BECAUSE he sees her as so young. That can’t be helped, really. Maybe they will grow out of that. But there is a reason why Derek has always been given partners older than him – I tend to think that the producers want him with older women so he WON’T treat someone like a little sister. And he’s rather intense. But Shawn is one youngun that can handle it – she’s had tough coaches her whole life.

I see what you mean, Heidi. I almost had to laugh at Derek’s reaction to the Access Hollywood interview where they asked if showmance rumors had started about these two. He looked so horrified at the thought, when, in some of his romances, he has been with older women.
Anyway, I’m sure he will bring out what he needs to in Shawn for good performances. She has already grown up from the last time she was on the show.

Interesting reading the different (and diametrically opposed) opinions on the same couple, their actions and chemistry – and it’s only week 1! I guess that’s why eye witness testimony is considered inherently unreliable – 2 people look at the same thing yet have the opposite take-away from it.

And how will Kelly find time for all the hours of practice is she has to put in full days on the General Hospital set?

Also, maybe in my dream somewhere but I thought I heard a Maks interview, discussing his leaving at the end of his contract (“It’s not for a long time”) that he and Peta are discussing marriage? Maybe on ET or Extra! or Access Hollywood.

I love Derek but I have to laugh when I hear him talking about Shawn being so much younger than him. I guess he was lucky that Shannon didn’t feel the same way. Derek was 23-24 when he and Shannon lived together and she is 12 years older than him. Time to stop the short jokes and age references. She is a woman who has traveled the world and excelled in her field. For someone who is so focused and strong, Shawn also seems laid back. Maybe it is her midwest roots, and she is not influenced by the La-La Land lifestyle.
