DWTS Make-Up Releases Photos, Which Costumes Were Your Favorite From Week One?
Dancing With The Stars Make-Up has released some fun takes of the cast “behind the scenes” preparing for the premiere. Below is Kym Johnson and Karina Smirnoff. So, from all the couples, who looked or wowed you the most with their costuming? Who could use improvement? I have to give it to Maks and Kirstie. The color of her Fox Trot gown was a stunner and looked beautiful on her. For improvement, I’m going to say Drew and Anna. The gray and lighter blues were beautiful, but, they were also “forgettable”. I hope they come out next week with something more showstopping and dominant in color and style.
I think Karina needs to keep her natural looks; she is so much prettier like that.

I liked Mak’s and Kristie’s costumes, I like Karina’s and Appolo’s. even though they were too much, but this is DWTS, where else can you wear something like that?
Anna definitely needs to improve in all departments, including costume design, I did not like her dress at all.
I just have a note for whoever is doing Peta’s makeup: EASE UP ON THE DAMN EYELINER!!! Peta already has kinda small eyes, so when they pile on the thick, black liner (as they did this week), she looks like she’s squinting/glaring unless she’s in extreme close-up. Line the top or the bottom – not both. And keep the line nice & thin…just enough to define the eye & help conceal the band of her false lashes.
And I’ve got a bone to pick with whoever did Kym’s makeup for the results show, too: ease up on all the contouring with bronzer – poor Kym’s nose looked horrifyingly pointy & Michael Jackson-like. The long shot of her & Joey waiting to hear their results was NOT flattering at all.

Irina, I thought the same thing about Kym. With the awesome boobage on major display, very few people (male or female) are looking at her sweet face.
My favorite costumes of the night were Apolo and Karina’s. Bright and showy – perfect for their cha-cha.
Forgettable, for me, was Chelsie’s gown, although Helio looked very dapper.
I want to see the costumers get more creative with the men (both pro and celeb). There was so much black on the floor, it looked like most of the had just come from a funeral.
Seeing that picture of Karina reminded me – did she get married and I missed the coverage? wasn’t she supposed to get married last off season?
