DWTS All Stars, Week 2 – Who’s Dancing What…and When??
Week 2 – the Jive and the Quickstep. Normally, if you had the Foxtrot in Week 1, you have the Jive in week 2. If you had the Cha Cha Cha you are dancing the Quickstep. That appears to be holding true for this season as well. 
There’s at least one, probably two train wrecks in this bunch…most of you can guess the first one.
Please note: these are not in any kind of order yet. The post will be updated through the day tomorrow with running order and songs, if we have them.
ETA: Almost forgot that Gilles and Mark spoiled their own songs so I might as well add them now.
ETA2: Shawn got a great song…but Black Betty? I guess that is a good quickstep song. Trying to visualize….
ETA3: A good choreographer could do something very interesting with Melissa’s song. Question is…can Tony??
ETA4: Melissa going first…a good shakeup to the dance order?? We’ll see.
ETA5: Dance Dance??? Oh boy.
ETA6: What a shock – an ABC employee gets the second best spot.
ETA7: And ANOTHER ABC employee in the pimp spot. Predictable. Maybe Apolo and Shawn are running away with it.
ETA8: If I’m wrong about where I guessed Bristol and Shawn are, I’m going to be PISSED, whether running order matters or not. Two weeks in a row in the worst position?? The shaft.
ETA9: Whew! I was right. I don’t like being pissed off. Louis says in his blog, which Vogue is posting soon, that Bristol is dancing second. Thanks to teichka for the heads up on that.
ETA10: A few last minute song spoilers…sort of. Turns out Joey is actually dancing to a big-band style cover Radiohead’s “Creep” done by a comedian named Richard Cheese…whose name I already like 
I know, Radiohead doesn’t exactly conjure up thoughts of lively, happy jumping & hopping characteristic of quickstep, but I actually think this version works REALLY well for quickstep. Sort of genius on Joey’s part 
As for Kirstie, all we know is that her song is entirely in French – and that Maks has her playing the character of a French prostitute. Knowing just that, I already think her jive has the potential to be all kinds of WIN. -Court-

Gilles got a great song again, song is half of the dance for me. In season 8, Gilles always got great songs, perfect for each dance.
I like Bristol song for the quickstep.
Loving Gilles’ song, but I don’t know if I’m gonna vote for him this week…After thinking about it, he wasn’t anyone that stood out to me. Bristol’s song…why tho?
Can’t wait to see what song Joey picked for his Quickstep. He said it’s gonna be an up-tempo rendition of a well-known cover. I hope they’ll reverse the order of the dances this time.

While we’re on the subject, though, “Don’t Stop Me Now” was Cristian & Cheryl’s jive, and was also used for Riccardo & Yulia’s performance during ballroom greats week in season 12.
Can’t see Sabrina NOT dancing too hard to “Black Betty.” Then again, I can’t ever see her not dancing too hard…just sayin’
Alex Wong! Cannot wait to see his performance. I hope they are fairer with the performance order. Not that it is the most important thing but Joey and Shawn should go in the second half just to be fair. I would love to see Kirstie and Bristol go early too.
Drew did a fun jive in season 2 so this should be a good week for him.
Forgot to add how much fun the pic of Shawn and Derek! They are fun together, I love that Derek has already brought out more personality from Shawn. That was something lacking in her first season. I am looking forward to her jive because I did not like the jive she did with Mark.
Just had to share this with you guys. I just let my girls (ages 3 and 4) watch Monday’s show on ABC On Demand. Here are their observations (mostly coming from the 4 year old):
They like Kym, but not the boy she was dancing with (they did not explain why)
“Derek is haaaannndddsoomme, Mommy” (cracked me up)They also loved Shawn’s yellow dress.
Helio’s name (the way it is pronouced) greatly confused them, because they’ve never heard it before
“Peta is wearing a lot of lipstick” LOL
They liked the song Drew and Anna danced to
“(gasp!) I can see her underwear, Mommy!” <–refering to Cheryl
They were also very confused about Gilles' name
And, my personal favorite, when Apolo and Karina came out "Mommy, is that Aladdin and Jasmine??"

Oh, forgot to add, my 4 year old loved repeating Bruno after he said his score and trying to talk like him.
LOved Shawn and Derek song, it is so fast paced that they will need a crazy routine to match.

I’m excited thinking what Derek and Shawn will do with their song. They appear to be the sleepers so far, but I’m counting on them going the distance to the finale along with Apolo and Karina.
I also hope the running order is reversed this time. It’s only fair. They’ll need to put Gilles up 2nd or 3rd to convince me ABC isn’t pimping him. He’s just not all that this season imo.
I can picture Black Betty as a quickstep. It’s that type of song that mood wise, fits a Paso but is a bit too fast for Paso really, but I think Sabrina and Louis will make it work. He said that their outfits this week will be glam rock and that they both love the song so I imagine it’ll be good.
Hope she and Shawn go towards the end this time.
I just hope Tony doesn’t do a repeat of “Breathe Again” with the whole “Throw my ands up” part of the song…Aside from that, I think Melissa’s got an amazing song. I’m thrilled we get to see a real performance instead of a rehearsal performance this time.

I like the song giles and peta have a lot. Tony and Melissa have a great one too. I think Bristol got a good one too oddly enough. Sabrina on the other hand…….I can’t see that being a great quickstep song.
Have Maks or Kirstie sais what song they have yet? Thats the jive I am kinda excited to see.

I’m excited to see Alex Wong dance, so I hope it’s good! I’m not always a fan of these “cross over” type performances.
And I’m a tad jealous that Derek’s braid looks better than my hair in a braid.

OMG, is it sunday already? I can’t wait!!! I’m so excited to see Mark dancing with Bristol again. Mark’s quicksteps are always fun, fun, fun! Aaaand…. I get to see Mark. OMG!

Don’t stop me now was also used on a pro numbers on season 4 and If I’m not wrong, it was used to on another season where the pro girls were dressed in red… and the song starts with edyta on judges table… not sure… maybe I’m confused… whatever…

I think I’m only one who didn’t like Melissa’s song. Isn’t it slow for a jive? =p I felt bad for Tony when Tom said he puts a lot of pressure on himself, but I doubt he can do a good choreography to this song specially not using props… hope I’m wrong.

Didn’t Gilles do his jive to Dance, Dance? Not that his dancing was doing it any favors, but I hate this song for a jive! We’ll see if Anna and Drew can redeem themselves, but this song choice makes me worry for them.

Apolo got a great song and his quicksteps were terrific! I loved his second quickstep more than Helio’s banana man quickstep.

I’m worried for Melissa going in first. Hopefully her jive will be a great way to kick off the show. I’m glad Kelly got a good spot again. Sabrina in fifth is sort of telling, maybe. Still stuck in the first hour. I wonder if Drew will be put in the 2nd or 3rd spot.
I know running order might not matter as much this season, but it is still interesting to me.
Ooooh! I’m so happy they’re using “Everybody Talks” as a jive! I’m not happy, however, that it went to a couple I could care less about.
A few thoughts on the music…
Bristol’s Redneck Woman – I think a quickstep to an Eminem song might be less polarizing than that one. It’s a real love it or hate it kind of song, and I expect viewers will feel the same way about their dance. But, I think the music will light a fire under that demographic and they will probably vote like mad for her, regardless of how the performance goes.
Shawn and Derek – yay! What a great 50′s style jive song. So deserved after that mismatched music they were given last week. Can’t wait to see it!
Sabrina’s Black Betty – I can only envision a machine gun style quickstep from Sabrina to that song.
Apolo/Karina – absolutely love their music. Hoping for a great dance from them.
Kelly getting the 11th spot makes me wonder if she’s drawing in big votes?

Well since were talking about our experiences watching the premiere with family and friends, Ill share my story with my friends. Warning: when we watch TV together we act like teenage girls. When Kym accidently kicked Joey in the face in the rehearsal package, one of my friends thought we could pull of that move, we can’t. One of my friends flipped about how good looking ‘Markie Warkie’ is(I came up with that pet name to tease her last seasons finale because she fell head over heels for Mark) I flipped out over ‘Derekie Boo’ (that’s how she got me back. See how We act like teenage girls during dwts?) One of my other friends said we were being ridiculous. She’s right. My friend that thinks Mark is eye candy was bragging about how she’s gonna beat me again this season( ages not a psyco fan, just a friendly, joke rivalry. I was voting for Maria/Derek last season, she was fir Katherine/Mark) so I youtubed the gorilla jive. Reaction was hilarious. I felt victorious.
I’m not even going to post it because I know the moderators hate it but wait until they find out who is dancing last.

@Sandy – A “hash tag” is a keyword or phrase on Twitter that you offset with a # symbol, and it allows you to search for all tweets containing that term just by clicking on it. But it only works on Twitter…which is why I find it annoying & pointless when some people include it in their comments here
And you’re right about soaps – so many have been cancelled in the past 2-3 years due to poor ratings & high production costs, and the growing demand for reality tv. GH is the only soap left on ABC…and from what I’ve heard, despite strong ratings as of late, it’s just barely hanging on by a thread in the eyes of the network – they’re eager to axe it & make room for another pointless afternoon talk show that’s no so expensive to produce.
And for those poo-poohing Helio’s jive – from what I’ve heard, it’s too adorable for words, and Helio’s kicks & flicks are looking surprisingly good. I would be prepared to be pleasantly surprised
And for those who aren’t bothered by Bristol’s quickstep yet – hope you’re prepared for cowboy boots, Bristol hitting Mark over the head with a beer bottle, and a rehearsal package which includes a trip to a shooting range to “get in the redneck mood”. Don’t say I didn’t warn you

Curious to hear how Drew, Apolo and Shawn are doing. Particularly Drew. I hope he avoids the bottom 2 this week. He is one of my favorites. I do not think Kelly is pulling in votes. My speculation is more helping out a member of the ABC family.

At this point I am beginning to wonder if Apolo and Shawn will even be dancing in the second half of the show.
Upon hearing that Helio’s jive is adorable it makes me wonder if he could become more of a force in this competition than I had originally anticipated. This could be his breakout week.
Gilles danced 8th last week out of 13 (middle of the pack) and he’s going last this week. It’s only the second week. If he goes last next week than maybe it’s shady. Kelly is the one that’s getting pimped. I’m actually pretty excited to see everyone dance. I love the jive and the quickstep.
At this point Apolo can only dance 2 or 4 (What???), Shawn can get 10 or 8 or even 3. I hope Shawn will have a Amazing Jive and make Gilles look bad going after her. I never liked Gilles (overrated dancer), but this season I can`t even look at him and his easy routines.

With Tom saying that Hélio had a standing “O” before he did anything, I wouldn’t doubt Hélio being a dark horse. He pretty good his first time too, despite being on a roller coaster with his scores. I have no doubt he’ll get referred to as “Mr. Charisma” again this season. I just think there are better couples in the game this season and I see the charisma he bring, don’t get me wrong. I just haven’t given into his hype yet.

Gilles danced last on Week 2 of his season too. It’s becoming more and more evident that this whole season is basically “give Gilles his trophy finally” season and it’s very off putting.

I imagine Gilles wants a redemption of sorts from his season when he danced a not so great jive. I can’t wait. 
Not sure that Kirstie can top her kissing Tom. lol I see in the promos tonight for DWTS that it was shown. Will be curious to see if they give Drew and Anna a good placement after being in the bottom 2.
I really think they’re going for a “Gilles v. Emmitt” storyline b/c of Cheryl. It makes perfect sense to me. And it will really tick me off, because those two are currently in my pool of who I would like to see go, along with Kirstie and Bristol.

I don’t see Gilles getting past Apolo. And he couldn’t get past Shawn when she was with Mark, I don’t see his odds improving against her with Derek. But, I’ve been wrong before. I’m really surprised that I don’t WANT him to win.

If I hear him talk about all his ailments and how many shots he’s getting just to “dance for the people” … along with his, “I’m not a dancer”, I’m going to scream! I thought Gilles would be one of my faves and now I’m not so sure either? Right now and from the guys I’m loving Apolo and Emmitt the most.
Running order might not matter much this season, but it sure is annoying to see who TPTB are pimping. I hope this means Shawn and Apolo are raking in so many votes that ABC is worried their storyline for the season will get derailed.
I admit I was in the group counting Helio out, but if his technique improves and he and Chelsie continue to be as cute as buttons, I’m willing to move him into the contender ranks. After what Court said, I’m looking forward to seeing their Jive.

I’m exctied about tonights show, I love all the fast dances. I really hope there will be no pimping this season but I realize there always is to some extent. I’m most excited to see Melissa, Bristol, Joey, and Sabrina and i’m most excited to see Kirstie’s package haha. Theres no one I really don’t like though. Yet. I’m actually not familiar with alot of these songs, I’m young and i’ve never been a music junky.

@Heidi – I know we have been saying that dance order really doesn’t matter this season. (Unless your in the pimpspot). With one of the weakest pros Tony to starting off the show, I am concerned that Apolo is dancing 4th this week. Any thoughts?
I don’t think Apolo has anything to worry about because, unlike most of the ladies, CAI has the hots for him. Automatic two extra points, most likely. Luckily, Apolo is likely worth it. Unlike Emmitt.
In his GMA blog Louis mentions that Bristol and Mark are second. So you are right, that only leaves the 10th spot for Shawn.
I’m with the theory that running order isn’t crucial this season, except I do care about the pimp spot (honor position.) Other than that, I’m pretty much okay with where folks fall. For instance, Apolo is among my top faves and I’m not the least bit irritated that he’s dancing 4th. I don’t expect it to really make any difference.
Having said that, if Bristol is dancing 2nd I’m going to have to hit my jug of moonshine early so the buzz kicks in before she’s up.

Totally agree. I like Emmitt, he’s nice, but…
I know CAI gets all excited about the men and only mentions them in interviews etc. but last week she scored Joey lower than the other judges and Shawn higher than the other judges. She also wasn’t the highest score for Emmitt or Drew, and she was right with the pack for Helio, Gilles and Apolo. I know grumpy Len scored Shawn very low to make a point he seems to like to make with *some*, but even Bruno scored her lower than CAI. I’m not saying she didn’t deserve her 8 from CAI, theirs was one of the dances I wanted to watch over a few times. But I’m not sure it’s true to say Apolo will automatically get 2 extra points from her compared to Shawn or some other women. Was his dance only truly worthy of a 5.5 compared to the 7.5 she gave him? His was the other dance I watched over a few times. Maybe the extra talking him up (3000Xsexier) has some unfair effect on the voting audience?
Maddy, PH didn’t say Shawn’s odds of winning were improved with Derek. She said Gilles’ odds of beating her this season had *not* improved. At least that’s how I interpreted it.
Strictly in terms of pro fanbases then v. now, I’d say Shawn traded up, Gilles down (not counting the ridiculous network pimpage of the latter).
Well I’m glad to see Shawn & Derek dancing in the second half. I wish they were fair to all the couples and switch them all around each week but who knows this is only week two maybe that will happen * cough, cough*.

I was just watching General Hospital and they had two characters – Carly and Johnny – watching a clip of Val and Kelly performing their cha-cha, with Carly commenting that Kelly (without actually saying Kelly’s name) looked like someone familiar. Good advertising ABC lol. Looking forward to tonight. Song choices are quite interesting. Hope Drew has a better week this week.

I didn’t bring Shawn into the discussion, Jess. I was talking only about Apolo getting better scores from CAI because she has the hots for him. I was also speaking generally for the upcoming season, not literally for this past week. I also, if you read what I wrote, said that at least Apolo was likely worthy of her drooling and high praise, unlike some.

I really would love Kelly to win this season but that probably won’t happen but the ones I really don’t want to win are Emmitt and Gilles mainly because I think that is what TBTB want and I am not a Cheryl fan and am sick of the NFL players on the show. Gilles is a great dancer but I find him boring plus I feel Peta winning two MBT’s in a row would go to her head, I am somewhat a fan of her but find her to be rude at times.
Yeah, Heidi, it’s true you didn’t bring Shawn into this discussion, I just was noting that last week the only person she scored higher than the other judges was with a woman, and the one she scored lower was a man. But I get what you’re saying that over the course of the season, she’ll score and/or talk up men over women in general.
Just listened to “Creep”. Looks & sounds like one of those dances that’s going to either be on DWTS’s “best of” list, or a train wreck… I’m MOST DEFINITELY hoping for the first! Come on, Joey & Kym! Knock it outta the park!
I just spent some time on Youtube listening to Richard Cheese. OMG! I LOVE THIS!!! I hope the band doesn’t stuff it up. This could be ICONIC! And as for the Cheese man… he does a version of Disturbed’s “Down With the Sickness” that … well… it’s sure not Disturbed! *LOL*

Who said anything about Joey & Kym making this a comedy number? All I said was that a COMEDIAN covered the song. Doesn’t necessarily mean that Joey & Kym are going to be yukkin’ it up left & right out there. Maybe they’re just dancing to the song.
I so hope either Melissa and Tony or Drew and Anna are the next to get the boot I get bored while watching them

Speaking of those two, when I hear the word “Jive”, “French prostitute” isn’t the first character that comes to mind. However, if that’s what it takes to get some creative choreography out of Maks, it’s already a WIN for me.

Give it a rest, honey. You’re annoying the hell out of your (voting) fans. Courtney said it best (I think it was Courtney) – I am so surprised at how much I don’t want him to win. And thankfully, there are plenty of capable contenders to give him a run for his money that the chances of someone else walking away with the MBT are pretty dang good.
I truly thought that I would love having Gilles back, I so enjoyed his run back in his season. This time around, not so much.

I can already see the judges going gaga over Gilles jive in the end, best for last and all that crap that Emmett got last week.
Just unfollowed Gilles on Twitter hoping I can regain the enthusiasm I had for him before the season started. With him I’m thinking less info is better.
