DWTS Bristol Palin Talks Of Paso Doble, Tensions In Rehearsals With Mark Ballas
Sarahnet Radio has interviewed Bristol Palin again. They review last week’s dance and how happy Bristol is to be dancing again on Dancing With The Stars. She says the “crap” people give her for making it just motivate her that much more. Then they talk of the double elimination this week and Bristol and Mark’s Paso Doble. Bristol says the double elimination is “intimidating”, but, she’s staying “focused” on the dance. The competition with the cast has risen to another level and she’s been working even harder. So much so, she comments her and Mark are like an “old married couple” and they went at it this week in rehearsals which we’ll probably see in their package tonight.
Hmmm…not sure I am ready for tonight or not? π― LOL
ADDING: People.com has posted a rehearsal video with Mark and Bristol. You can watch it HERE. As you will soon see, it hasn’t been a smooth ride this week for them. Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments and if and how it will effect voting tonight?
A few days ago someone (a Mark fan) tweeted me and said that they weren’t sure Mark and Bristol would be “as close” as they once were after this week….. they were bickering, she was wanting to take a lot of breaks, not committing to many more hours like others, and Mark is embarrassed somewhat–it is Derek’s dance after all. π
We shall see.
I am sure Mark loves and embraces Bristol’s characterization that they are “just like an old married couple.” Yeah. Way to sell it, Bristol. Even better is her comment that “the βcrapβ people give her for making it just motivates her that much more.”
What a gal! And when I think of all the people who would kill for her spot and work to entertain and also be thankful for the opportunity…
What’s the over-under on her wanting to give us the big middle finger again?
Jay, word!!! And yep, Sheery, we shall see. π
Sheery, everything you said is basically what I’ve been hearing…except it’s an understatement. π As far as I heard, there was one day where Bristol & Mark weren’t even speaking, she was so upset with him – they got zero rehearsing done that day because of it. I also heard they butted heads a lot over choreography, and that the end result is not something that either of them are really all that happy with. I just hope we get to see some of this fallout π
I’m just concerned that, no matter how craptastic (TM) Bristol’s dance is, she’ll get voted through to the next round… But for now, I’ll keep my fingers crossed, and hope like hell Bruno still knows where his “3” paddle is!
I hope we get to see some of the fallout, too! Poor Mark. I have never seen him look so dejected.
I just want Bristol gone so badly. But, I’m with Sally, I’m scared that she is going to stick around no matter what.
I am so discouraged after listening to this radio show that is all about getting voters to vote for her. It’s not suppose to be about Politics – give me a break. This is why I am just as nervous as the rest of you that she will keep getting the votes no matter what. I am sure we will see the fallout and even if she dances terribly she will make it through and the more deserving ones will leave. People may vote because they are rooting for their favorite football player, singer, etc., but they can dance as well. Bristol is not a political figure. Her mother was and she is just the daughter. Most of all she can’t dance. I have watched her routine and I did dance country western dance and what she did was not complicated at all. Not tooting my own horn, but I can dance circles around her (as far as country dances go). Just trying to say, I am not a professional by any means. You could walk into any country western club and see far better dancers and they aren’t on an All Star show. Sorry, just had to vent.
Yeah, she sure seems motivated!
Could it be possible that I’ll feel bad for Mark tonight?
I just saw the people.com video, I feel really bad for Mark. She is lazy and now she is playing the Shawn Sabrina card to blame Mark for her annoying behavior. GO away
yoooooowza. I saw the people.com footage of their argument too. That is going to be rough to rally from
Do you guys think it will make people feel sorry for Bristol? Is it like she’s being a complete witch or is it something that could be spun to get sympathy for her?
Mark probably wishes he has sabrina or shawn but he wouldn’t tell her that.
Wow, just watched and added the People footage. I don’t blame Mark for being fed up.
Then again, I think Mark wishes he had one of his past partners too.
I feel for them both. Bristol is an obviously insecure person, and Mark said before the season started that he wanted a second shot with Sabrina. To have both sabrina and shawn back and not be paired with them must have stung a bit for Mark, especially knowing he was getting paired with a former partner of a lesser caliber. Although I’m sure he’d never say to Bristol that he wishes he got them instead, I don’t doubt she’s picked up on that energy. And barring serious injury, communicable illness or death in the family, it is not terribly professional of a pro to miss a practice. That likely didn’t help the hurt feelings. Still, I DO feel for Mark. I’m just a fan, and even I wanted him with sabrina or shawn
Violet, good question. I can’t decide. It could go either way.
I am tried of seeing Bristol always playing the victim card. I hope she is one of the people that are voted off this week her and Gilles attitudes are so off putting I rather both of them voted off this week and have the remaining hard working cast members with good attitudes stay. I am afraid this wont happen.
The People footage is very disturbing to watch, in that Bristol is playing big psychological games with Mark. She apparently has such strong insecurities about Sabrina and Shawn that she is blaming Mark for something he hasn’t done, when he has actually had Bristol’s back all season. I’m no Mark fan so I can’t believe I’m defending him, but this is really awful to watch. And then her accusing him of playing the victim card…what? Not that he isn’t capable of doing that, but again, she’s the one who always plays the victim. She’s got some serious mental adjustments needed.
Having said all that, like a lot of you I have a feeling it will not stop them from being called safe again, while we lose two better dancers with much better attitudes. I hope like heck I’m wrong.
I am wondering how it will effect the actual dance, and if the dance is a mess (I’m talking more of a mess than last week) if the scores will ACTUALLY reflect it.
wow stop with all the hate …. she is still a human being and does not deserve the hate yall are giving her ! if you dont want her to come back then vote more for your favorites!! bc in reality her fans are voting like crazy to keep them in
Taryn, no one here “hates” anyone, but, hey, we do have a right not to like her dancing or her behavior. And another thing, don’t tell us or our readers what to do or how to feel. That is not your place.
I don’t think she’s being deliberately emotionally manipulativeor playing “psycholological games.” I think she’s an insecure young woman who is used to being beat down and criticized for everything she says and does. If you constantly hear from the world that you aren’t good enough, you either develop a thick skin or you become sensitive to those kids of criticisms. Maybe her claims have some merit, or maybe she’s projecting her insecurity onto Mark. But unless anyone wants to categorize Bristol as an actress, it’s obvious there were real hurt feelings there that needed to be worked out. This is honestly the stuff that makes me want to keep them around–Not for the drama, but so the situation and partnership helps her to confront her insecurities and grow as a person.
Taryn, go away.
I suspected things weren’t great with Bristol and Mark for quite a while, but this really takes the cake! Bristol says HE is playing the victim? When I think of all the times he defended her for her dumb statements and actions, resulting in tons of abuse for him, I just shake my head. I realize Bristol has a “its all about me” attitude and how dare ANYONE think she isn’t the reason the show even exists, but good grief! Mark has been very good to her and taken it on the chin MANY times, yet SHE is the victim! I’m afraid to see what the dance will look like-I’m sure they are going tenth just to prolong the drama about the fights. As much as I want Mark out from under her, I’m afraid they will move on next week too.
What amazes me is this girl actually has “fans”. What has she ever done??? Blows my mind.
This is all for pr people and for ratings for the show. No wonder there making them dance close to last.Didn’t like how fake Bristol played in the vid girl can’t act and I didn’t like how she used Shawn and Sabrina’s name out to make her get people to vote for someone who can’t dance like them. Please I hope this backfires on the show. Good Luck tonight Shawn and Sabrina better dancers deserve to keep dancing on all star season.
Cindy, I agree, and think that this is a ploy for votes on Bristol’s part. She is wanting sympathy votes for being insecure, and she’s going for the “poor girl, she’s not a dancer like Sabrina and Shawn” votes. Truth is, nearly all the stars were not dancers before they originally did the show. But they became dancers because they worked their butts off and dedicated themselves to doing the very best they could do. Bristol chose not to do that, and now that she’s clearly the worst dancer of the group, she’s playing the last card in her hand. It is all the worse because she’s chosen to throw her partner under the bus to make it happen. And it’s also terrible because sadly, she may be rewarded for this behavior and remain another week.
This child (she may be over 21 but emotionally she’s still in high school) needs to start observing the people around her at DWTS and learn from them a bit. This is the only way she is going to get any level of sophistication at all as she doesn’t seem to be getting it from any of her other associations. (By sophistication I mean manners, etc) And if she really thinks she can have a conversation with Chelsie she should notice that Chelsie manages to have conversations that don’t always include negatives about everyone and everything around her. Honey catches more flies, Bristol!
I think the judges have allowed their personal feelings to influence their scoring before – things like the pro being mean, perceived laziness of the celeb…all this stuff. I can’t help but wonder if they will allow this to impact their scoring of Bristol or if the producers have too big a stake in her drama.
I dunno, Vogue…I’m leaning closer toward hate than I ever have for anyone on this show. π But if taryn doesn’t like it, she shouldn’t let the door hit her on her way out of here.
Just checked out fan pages for her……
they are pissed that Mark did show up…”he’s the pro”…and made her cry. So what will they do? They are setting up more accounts to help get her through to next week because Mark’s absence made her practice less than everyone else and the bias judges will underscore her as usual.
This stuff is rich LOL !!!
I’ve heard about things that likely won’t make the package tonight (from two different sources) – and I’m on Mark’s side. That’s all I’m gonna say on the subject. And I’m one of Mark’s biggest critics.
LOL I know what you mean. I’ve never been more disgusted with her. I just want her gone.
Remember the show had to give People this footage. I guess they’ve decided this is the type of drama that will give them ratings *sigh*.
Someone had mentioned on the now deceased ABC board, that after B&M were called safe, as they were going to commercial, Shawn reached over to say congrats to Bristol, and Bristol was like stand-offish. I didn’t notice to be honest.
When the person had told me about M&B not being as close, she did say that while in AZ, Bristol practiced for an average of 3 hours and then when on her merry way, while Mark and a producer were bored most of the time.
Also, Bristol honey, if you took the show seriously, you would practice longer, try to show more emotion, agree to the wardrobe he’s trying to get you to wear, and you would have went back and watched your dances from season 11, just like Mark asked you TWICE to do BEFORE the this season even started. Sonja offered to “give you refresher” classes in Alaska, but you didn’t take her up. So save the tears!
I give mark and bristol hundreds of votes each week mostly cause of mark. I want to watch him dance every week dance. But after seeing this I am a little disgusted from bristol, like really blaming mark? Out of all people he is her biggest supporter and is always defending her from the haters and that makes him look bad. It werid I always liked bristol but I am no more a fan. I didn’t think my opinion would change so fast after watching one video. I have voted every week bristol has been on the show, but no more hundreds of votes anymore. She doesn’t deserve to be here. I always felt bad for her. I have never said this about any of mark’s partners even on season 11, but I hope she gets elmniated. Its fine with me, mark will be back next season, but the good thing she won’t.
WORD Sheery!!
So true Angela. What you wrote at the end of your post reminded me of how I felt with Hope and Maks. At the end, I was so tired of her attitude and decided then that it was ok not to vote for Maks anymore and that he’d be back next season.
Wow, I just saw the video at People.com. It gives me hope that maybe, just maybe, this will be the week that the self-absorbed, petulant little girl will be going home. Firing up the incense, chanting the chant, starting the voodoo dance in 5…4…3… π
I agree with you Mimi K (at #15). It was pretty obvious to me that Mark was not thrilled at all that (a) he didn’t get Sabrina as he hoped and campaigned for; and (b) that out of all of his other past partners, TPTB would of course choose Bristol for the All Star Season! Dang … I know that stings, especially since I heard (without any kind of verification, don’t even remember where I heard/read it) that Kristy Y. wasn’t even asked. No big surprise that Bristol picked up on that vibe, especially given her insecurities. Hell, we even picked up on it through the distorted shimmer that is our TV screen. And Mark ditching practice (indeed, very unprofessional) only fed into those insecurities; I’ve said it before that Mark does not seem very invested in this season so he needs to get over that in a big hurry. If it’s not already too late. I don’t know though, I was beyond shocked that Bristol’s fan base had enough juice to get her to 3rd place in her season. Granted, they had a lot of help from the judges … and sadly, I don’t see that’s been remedied.
All this angst just may play very well with their Paso Doble ….. wouldn’t that be a hoot LOL
Thanks, it made me realize I don’t really like bristol, I always thought I did cause of mark, but I don’t. Its not fair to the good dancers if I only vote for bristol cause I want to see mark ballas dance. Now I am a supporter of Karina and Apolo.
Bristol is such a fame whore, she will do whatever she can to get as much fame as freakin possible. She’s not a star, she’s a slut!
Probably stated that a little too rude, actually, I apologize. I just am so tired of Bristol’s antics – it seems like everything’s about her and not her partner. I mean, so her pro partner arrived late one day at a practice and you jump to the conclusion that he wants someone other person to be her partner? It just seems like she has a lot of growing up to do yet. I stand up and applaud all the other teams that respect one another and forgive one another, not ones who overreact to every little thing.
Welcome aboard the Apolo train, Angela π
Linde,
Kristi Y herself said in an interview while in NY that she wasn’t asked but wished everyone luck and would be rooting for Mark, her former partner.
Plus, perhaps Mark didn’t show up on time or at all because like he said she’s gotta put it out on the floor. Perhaps, 3 maybe 5 hours a day while others are doing 8 or even 10 (and they have more natural ability and better technique) was his way of letting her know, “Well, fine you’re not “showing up”, so neither will I.” Is it right? No. Unprofessional? Yes. But, they are not strangers, as per both of them they love each other like sister & brother. AND…in Mark’s defense, even when he was on his music tour, he ALWAYS defended the Palins.
Bristol’s friend showed Bristol Mark’s “campaigning” for Sabrina—Bristol hadn’t seen nor heard of it before.
What’s also interesting is I re-watched some season 11 dances and comments from the judges, and Len seemed to prefer Bristol’s technique over Kyle’s performance. She doesn’t have the technique she had last time….although not great, but her it was good. If she had the technique and retention from season 11 with her now wanting to shake it more, it would be understandable why people vote for her.
She also cried and said she wanted to go after week 7 dance, but noooooo fans kept her in there and well, bye bye Rick, Kurt, and Brandy.
I am getting more and more frustrated as I am reading more messages. Want to thank both Princess Heidi and Voguerista for allowing us to voice our opinions. When I watched the video I thought if this airs it will make more people feel sorry for her and vote that much more. Does this show really want her to win? I just get sick at that thought. For her to remain in because more and more sites are opening up just to vote for her is just unfair to all the better dancers who will leave because some people have banned together to protect Bristol at all costs. This is a show based on dancing and entertainment and politics should have nothing to do with it. Bristol is not running for any office and neither is her mother. I have read comments on the People Site where people call anyone who does not like Bristol haters. I think that is a cop out. Because people believe she is the worst dancer why does that make us haters? Pam Anderson left first and she was the worst dancer that performed that week. We were not labeled a hater because we thought she should be the one eliminated. The next week Bristol was the worst dancer and that was the reason I felt she should have been voted out. Now because we want her out based on her dancing all at once we are all haters. I am with you both Heidi and Voguerista I am completely disgusted with everything that is going on. I know we can’t go back, but I really think they made a huge mistake by bringing her back to the show. It may all be for ratings, but their ratings are already down and because of this I think it may backfire even worse for them. I had a show that I loved because I love to watch dancing. I am not sure how I feel about all this and what it has become. I am not the biggest Mark fan, but I feel bad for him because of all this. I also feel bad for all of the other dancers. I am sure they had no idea this was going to happen when they signed up for it. I just want her gone. JMO
THIS^^
What a whiny litte biotch – I can’t stand Bristol. When she walked out the door, I was hoping she was going to quit the show but no such luck.
ITA Jane! You took the words right out of my mouth. I love Mark to death but can’t stand Bristol the more I see and hear from her. They really should be the dance off back so they can get rid of her. She is just wanting more sympathy.
Mark took so much crap because of her, he was always on her side and that is how she treats him, she must go home tomorrow.
Oh, pleeze, must we suffer another season of Bristols poor dancing and her tantrums? All the other dancers are wonderful. If she stays on and better dancers are eliminated it will make me wonder if her mama is just getting all of her promoters to vote for her daughter
Preach Gail, preach!!!! you took the words right out of my mouth!! I know people who even tho they like the show, they can’t watch bc of her! For the record, I have nothing against her, I don’t hate her or dislike her bc of her mother, I don’t like her attitude and that better dancers go before her, just like season 11. I remember I saw a website that season where someone posted “vote for Bristol, make the democrats go crazy” and I’m thinking no, ur making honest fans of the show and good dancing crazy! Politics don’t belong in the ballroom, sad to say tho Pam was right, Bristol has the whole tea party behind her. Kirstie might not be the best dancer, but she works her but off and has a good attitude, Bristol needs to take some lessons from her.
I would love an explanation from Mark on why he did not show up for a job he is being paid to do. I have been a big Mark supporter, but this concerns me.
The gossip out of Alaska was that Bristol was super jealous whenever Levi or her other boyfriends talked to other girls. I can see that being a factor in this situation: Mark has always been proud that he was one of the first to win multiple disco balls. So Bristol’s probably a little self conscious to begin with: she’s no Kristi Yamaguchi or Shawn Johnson. Then she sees Mark being friendly with Shawn and her jealous streak kicks in. So she interprets Mark being friendly with Shawn as wanting to be Shawn’s partner, and things go off the rails.
It’s a pretty believable story, especially if rehearsals aren’t going well.
Nope, that’s not it, Fig.
Bristol, hmm lets say it this way, feels that Mark is different this time around. She thinks he seems weird. Actually, he has changed from season 11. We all have witnessed his antics with Chelsea Kane that season. Plus, his music has taken a turn and other stuff is “off” from when she last hung around him. You can text or talk to someone 2-4 times a week and they can still change. He mentions to her that if she “wants to compete with Shawn and Sabrina”…..he doesn’t mention Kelly or Melissa, so she hones in on that they were his former partners. She’s very insecure and always on the defensive….must be a sucky way to exist, but she signed a contract. Maybe she thought this paycheck would be as easy as the first one?
Mark explains that he he called production (guess he didn’t call Bristol?) about not making rehearsal, but says they did make up the time later on and that the show just showe 1:30 of a 45 minute talk… http://watch.accesshollywood.com/video/bristol-palin-mark-ballas-emotional-week-on-dancing-with-the-stars:-all-stars/1887130232001
The number of viewers watching DWTS has dropped off significantly this season, perhaps in part because fans of the show who actually vote for good dancing performances see poor dancers such as Bristol Palin continue to advance week after week. The whole premise of the show suffers when politics trumps performances. I don’t blame Palin for taking the money; I blame the show’s producers for choosing a young lady so ill-suited for the limelight — no talent, no personality, and no business being on stage with real stars.
Jesus…chill with the ratings talk unless you know what you’re talking about.
