Saying Goodbye To Drew Lachey & Helio Castroneves – Elimination Interviews
Court here, filling in for the “Voguecationing” Vogue ๐ I know I’m not as good at these as she is, but I’m gonna give it the old college try in her absence! And just hope that she comes back to us soon ๐ We miss you, Vogue!!!
Making the rounds after their heartbreaking (and premature, IMO) double elimination last night, Drew & Anna and Helio & Chelsieย chatted first with On the Red Carpet:
ย
They also chatted with Access Hollywood about their early ouster.ย God love Helio, he has got to be one of the most gracious, positive people I think we’ve ever had on the show – he seems to be taking it all in stride and is just grateful for the opportunity to return.ย Drew seems to be taking it a little bit harder – even though I think he knew it was coming, doesn’t mean it didn’t hurt any less.ย Anna also seems to be pretty upset about it.
The last stop of the evening was Jimmy Kimmel – by that point, I think everyone was getting a little tired & slap-happy and were just tryng to have fun ๐ :
UPDATE: You can check out Drew & Anna, Helio & Chelsie getting interviewed by Ann Romney on GMA this morning here. I think the interview getsย a little awkward & choppy due to the delay in the feed between NY & LA (and Ann just being kind of new at the whole interviewing thing), but Drew obviously has a bone to pick with the judges for their scores…can’t say I blame him.ย
I’m actually really sad to see these two go – they were two of the bright spots for me each week, even if they weren’t the best dancers, because I could tell they were working hard and having fun…unlike some others this season ๐ฏ
Ok guys, I’m gonna enlist your help – if you happen upon any other elimination interviews that I haven’t already posted, go ahead and post the LINK ONLY (don’t embed it, it makes the comments go all wonky)ย in the comments section and I will add it.ย I dunno how Vogue does it –ย I have a whole new appreciation for how thorough and comprehensive her coverage is.ย I can barely keep up! ๐
Thanks Courtney! Very much appreciated! We know you have a job, a life AND you already write so much great content for this site. Thanks for filling Vogues shoes too. Oh, forgot to add, have to moderate all the crazies too.
I’m very sad to see these two go. I hadn’t voted for Helio but I still enjoyed his energy. Agree Drew and Anna are taking it kind of hard.
I applaud you Miss Court. ๐ I really enjoyed this post and all of the bloggers here ( You, Heidi, Vogue, John, Marianya, etc ) amaze me at how accurate and thorough yall’s coverage of DWTS is and how fast you get it up and posted. No other website can hold a candle atleast when it comes to DWTS. ๐ I’m gonna miss both couples alot, really expected Drew and to an extent Helio but it was fun watching them, particularly last night ( Esspecialy Helio he is always so joyful and upbeat! ). Interesting note that no one else will probably care about :P: When they were showing that behind the scenes look at the dances last night, when it came to Helio and Chelsie’s clip when they showed the two talking backstage before the dance there was a point when I was looking at Chelsie kind of from the side and she was the SPIITING image of Julliane. Just from that camera angle. Wierd. ๐ On to next week!
Thanks so much Courtney. For some reason I could not get Drew’s Access Hollywood video to play, but you could tell he was quite upset. I hated to see both of these guys go as they did give it their all. Unlike some – boy do I agree with that statement. I loved Helio his season and did vote for him because I knew he was going to be in trouble this week since he was bottom two last week. Helio’s smile and his graciosness were part of his charm for me. He clearly wanted to entertain us and win the trophy for Chelsie and his little girl. I will miss both of them, but Helio especialy. I did not expect him to win this season, but thought he would go further then some that are still there.
Thanks again Courtney and so appreciate all you do for us. I know it has to be tough to gather all this stuff for us, but you do an amazing job.
Thanks all for the kind words ๐ I’m glad you enjoy our coverage!!! Lord knows it’s not always a picnic trying to cull everything together…ai ai ai. God bless Vogue for handling it so I don’t have to!!! ๐
You did great, Court! THANK YOU for doing this! ๐
Fabulous, Court – couldn’t ask for better. I enjoyed reading as well as watching.
I agree with others that neither Drew nor Helio would have won, but I can still be pissed that they left too early, especially when the judges aren’t using a level playing (scoring?) field. :::scowls::: I personally would much rather have watched them for another week than at least 3 other couples I can think of.
Yea Courtney! Chin up – Vogue-cation will be over soon.
I hope they give Chelsie some performances (and income!) for the rest of the series. Sweet gal.
I’ll jump on the Courtney “Luv” bandwagon – great job! (Have fun on vacation Vogue! Pure DWTS is in good hands.)
What I’m going to miss about the boy trio that’s gone, is their great attitude. They have a right to be a little bitter about it when there are “inadequate” dancers still in there. TPTB really blew All Stars (as we knew they would). It should have been all good dancers that had the highest average in judges’ scores in their season. I’m not sure where I read it, but someone suggested that one week, the only couples you can vote on are the bottom 3 in judges’ scores. That would work!
Also, It made me so happy to see Ssn 5 Helio here in Ssn 15; unlike the missing Ssn 8 Gilles – we got his evil twin! I was hoping Helio would “rub off” on GM.
I think it is a disgrace to the dancing profession that B. Palin is still on the show and some very accomplished dancers were sent home. She is not a star and does not belong on the show. I will not be watching the show anymore. The show is fixed.
Hmmm, the link for the GMA video didn’t work for me but I have posted it here as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mv2LUm_7zXo
