DWTS Season 15, Week 4 – Post Performance Media, On the Red Carpet
Like the title says…On the Red Carpet with George Pennachio. I’m posting and running this morning - no time to watch them all so I’ll guess and post one that might be annoying and one or two that might not be annoying. It’s a game. You can tell me how I did.
Oh, and click the link to see all the videos.
Annoying – LVA and Sabrina
MORE Annoying – Gilles
Maybe annoying if they are still going over the top with the smolder…maybe not. You tell me.
Not likely annoying – Shawn and Derek
A long Paparazzi video that has lots of people in it.

Honest to God, Louis is way too over the top. “Sabrina’s difficulty level is higher, much higher than everyone else’s.” How the HELL does he get away with saying shit like that? *eyerolling*
Exactly Evaine. I said on the rankings post, has he been watching Shawn & Derek? or Melissa & Tony? Oh, maybe not, because Louis likes to think its all about Sabrina & him….
Thank GOD Val explained what all that attempted smolder during the show was about. I get what the point of it was but it just ended up being funny….it was just comical…which I’m sure was not the intended result. Not really needed because their dance on it’s own brought the heat. Their chemistry is really natural so no need to force it. Nice interview…refreshing to know how terrified Val was in attempting their dance.
For the future I hope TPTB never attempt to do this again. I ended up feeling bad for most of the pro’s. Karina, Peta basically had a breakdown trying to figure this out and Val and Cheryl probably were s@%^*@#! bricks trying to figure out how to create a dance.
and yet you have other pros like derek, mark, lacey, and chelsie that would love it….yes, they are all trained in ballroom but dancers should be able to be creative and if you need outside assistance so be it (i prefer they don’t for the most part)…i mean chelsie was dying on twitter last night for a contemporary piece…as was derek, and mark too- so long as bristol wasn’t his partner:) I can’t even stand Louis’s face anymore and like i said in the other post Gilles love for Mac makeup is getting to be overwhelming also.
I never understood why they even brought Sabrina back without pairing her with Mark. It just didn’t make sense to me at all.
I thought Val and Kelly were acting ridiculous last night. And seriously, I hate when Val comes down the staircase without his shirt on… It just looks so desperate to me.
I think we can all agree that we hope Kelly and Val don’t attempt that again. But I must say it had me rolling. The first few times…I was like…what are they doing? Then….are they making out? Then…Please for the love of God..get a room! It was like a 5 second soap opera every time they cut to them. Because I couldn’t figure it out and it was unexpected I couldn’t stop laughing. But when they actually danced I was blown away by the emotion (the actual dancing was a great effort as well mistakes and all).
I’d like to order a slice of cheesecake because I can only imagine what you guys will do with that.
First who else are they going to pair Bristol with…Mark must have the patience of a saint…these folks are putting in insane hours and she is putting in 3…good Lord. Sabrina was okay…but I agree Louis…what the h show are you watching…your choreography was higher difficulty than others…get a grip. And finally what can I say about Gilles…stick my finger down my throat…that was the worst routine and the judges should be ashamed for not doing any research to know it was bad…he doesn’t deserve to be at the top of the leader board and his arrogance is putting him in a class with Bristol for me and that is pretty low.
I love this line from Val, it actually MADE the whole interview!!
“My mind is pooping its pants” thinking about next week, since they hadn’t yet got their music.
Louis, the master of “I reject your reality and substitute my own.”
Somebody send Gilles a filet mignon and another $400 bottle of wine. Poor guy starved himself for his art.
Val, goes all method on us. At least now we know why these two were acting like idiots for the entire show. On a positive note, Kelly’s right, when Val does manage a real smile, it lights up the room.
Shawn, Thank you for that Derek moment! Feel free to tug on his britches anytime the camera’s rolling.
Kirstie and Maks were so funny riffing on their score of 30.
Poor Melissa, trying to be all coy about their guilty pleasures dance style and Tony deliberately spoiled it. Well-done Tony. So nice to see him with a wicked twinkle in his eye.
I have this feeling that Peta doesn’t really like Gilles, I’m not sure what it is, in the begging she was all smile but now she just look really weird sometimes around him, you can see her rolling her eyes a couple of times. She was really fun with Donald last season but this time she just seen to have lost her sparkle.
Some things I learned from these interviews
-Shawn is insecure which AMAZES ME!!! She looks so good and is beautiful. Glad to see another dimension to her as a woman instead of just a cute kid. Can’t wait to see their Rumba.
-I learned nothing new about Louis.
-Gilles…yeah just annoying.
@Joey – many of the younger pros like Derek, Mark, Chelsie have experience in contemporary/hip hop styles of dance so OF COURSE they would have been happy to do any of those dances.
In Karina’s interview she said she was freaking out over choreographing to OLD-SCHOOL hip hop and that she would have preferred doing modern hip hop. Which begs the question – why did she not pull a Derek and request another song for their routine?!? Okay, I don’t have proof as to whether she did ask or not but my gut says she didn’t. Seriously how hard could it have been to compile a list of songs and demand they get the first song available? It’s not like the show hasn’t used hip hop songs in the past. It’s things like this that makes me appreciate Derek for being the savvy pro he is. He just gets it. Some of the other pros could really learn from him.
Looking forward to seeing how Shawn and Derek tackle the rumba next week.
I’m mad that Sabrina is probably dancing the v.waltz to a disney song. I really wanted Shawn to get a disney classic for her v.waltz, like beauty and the beast or part of this world.
Is Louis crazy, Shawn and Melissa routines were way harder than Sabrina’s, your choreo is boring so shut your mouth.
@Mari, I agree that a lot of the pros could learn a thing or two from Derek. That said, I don’t think it’s as simple as presenting a list and “demanding” they get a new song cleared stat. Yes, Derek apparently asked for a song change this week and TPTB were able to accommodate, but it was a last-minute change. So as a pro, you have to weigh the advantages/disadvantages and know what your celeb can and can’t handle. It can take time to clear a song. So you have the added complication of having to choreograph a dance that can be tweaked to work with both the original song and the one you hope to get cleared. You also have to rehearse to both tracks. Is it worth the risk? Especially if you’re choreographing in a style you’re not familiar with? Do you want your celeb to go out there on show night with two different songs in their head and different moves?
Yeah, I think Derek would have loved any of the other pieces besides Mambo. Mr. OutOfTheBox would have been thrilled with any of them, I think. Maybe Mark too.
I’m skeptical that the change was that last minute for Derek and Shawn – the Choreo was too tied to the beats in that song and Derek said he spent a lot of time making sure they hit it just right.
Lol Toni I’m in total agreement with u. I laughed at all val and Kelly interactions because there would be random cuts to them hamming it up. As long as they don’t dabble with their dancing chemistry I’m good.
I love Shawn but Chelsie and romeo did one of my favorite sappy peices on this exact same guilty pleasure week to titanic. So they really are going to have to step it up for me to not give this routine the side eye. I have faith though.
