Oh Em Gee… what a wacky few weeks… Ugh Ugh Ugh. Anyway… with no real results show for Week 7… Might as well put this up for good measure:
What a mean team of cow hands we have here, hmm? :D Dancing With The Stars Make-up has released some ‘behind the scenes’ shots of the cast from this past week. Above is Henry Byalikov, Sonny Peterson, Maksim and Val Chmerkovskiy, Emmitt Smith, and Tony Dovolani. You can see loads of more pics here of the rest of the cast. You can also read how they did some of the make-up on the girls which is always fascinating if you love make-up and the art of it. My only complaint, why don’t they ever have pictures of DEREK HOUGH ? :?
So, what happened to Sabrina is pretty easy to explain. Everyone covered the spread. Period. She was at the top of the leaderboard and didn’t need to get MORE votes than anyone else, she just needed to get enough votes to prevent them from catching up to her.
The table below shows Sabrina versus each of the other dancers, the percentage between them and then the number of votes per million votes cast that that individual needs to bypass Sabrina and stay safe.
Ultimately, every single dancer got at least one more than that number of votes per million votes cast than Sabrina and Sabrina was, therefore, eliminated. Looking at the numbers, above, you can see that it wouldn’t be really hard for anyone other than Kelly to get the votes. Those are small damn numbers. And if Sabrina isn’t getting many votes, just how hard is it for Kelly? Spare me the “Power of the soap fan” spiel. That’s nuts – if ya’ll were that powerful Soap’s audiences wouldn’t be shrinking and they wouldn’t be getting cancelled left and right. And Kelly wasn’t the only person who beat Sabrina – EVERYONE did. Which means she just wasn’t getting the votes. This says nothing, really, about Kelly and everything about Sabrina. Read more..
This is really cool!! In an official announcement made today, Disney/ABC Television has announced plans to dedicate this coming Monday, November 5th, as a “DAY OF GIVING” across their news, daytime, syndication, primetime, and late night programming. “Good Morning America,” “LIVE with Kelly and Michael,” “The View,” “The Chew,” “Katie,” “Dancing With The Stars,” “World News with Diane Sawyer,” ABC Owned Stations & Local ABC Affiliates, “Nightline” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” will all participate. The comprehensive response follows the Walt Disney Company’s $2 Million donation for relief and rebuilding efforts to help those impacted by Hurricane Sandy. You can read the official announcement at ABC News. Below are details for how each show (including Dancing With The Stars) is scheduled to help in encouraging viewers to donate. Please All, do what you can to help!!! Here is a direct link to the American Red Cross. Even if it’s the smallest amount, you can make a difference and help to comfort someone!!!
“Good Morning America” will start the “Day of Giving” by dedicating the entire 8:00 a.m. hour to raising money for Sandy Relief efforts. ABC News anchors, reporters and employees will band together to encourage people to donate to the American Red Cross.
The torch will pass to “LIVE with Kelly and Michael,” where the show will integrate “Day of Giving” messaging into their highly anticipated Halloween episode (which was moved due to the impact of the storm).
The ladies of “The View” will discuss the “Day of Giving” and encourage their audience to donate to the American Red Cross relief efforts, and “The Chew” will do the same.
“Katie,” which designated the entire hour on Wednesday, October 31 to Hurricane Sandy, will take up the mantle of the “Day of Giving” and engage her viewers in these relief efforts as well.
The ABC Owned Stations and local ABC affiliates will integrate “Day of Giving” messaging into their local news throughout the day, calling on their local communities to help those impacted by the storm.
“World News with Diane Sawyer” will participate with messaging around “Day of Giving” and the continuing impact of the storm.
“Dancing With The Stars” is planning to personalize sections of the live show Monday night with “Day of Giving” messaging.
“Nightline” will devote time to the “Day of Giving” and the impact of Hurricane Sandy, and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” which has been airing from Brooklyn all this week and encouraging viewers to give to the Red Cross to help rebuild that impacted areas, will end the “Day of Giving” on Monday with special messaging and calls to action for his viewers.
Ok… I am not happy… I mean Sabrina was actually growing and doing better and better. She was actually opening up and she has such an engaging personality it is like, “what the hell?” But then again TPTB probably have so much invested in Gilles and Kelly that Sabrina got the short end of the stick…
Ah well… what can you do? I know it has been a while since I did one of these… but in all honesty it is getting towards that point in the season where the comparison statistics may actually look decent. Don’t believe me? Let’s look at the chart where it compares the predicted scores with the actuals between Sabrina’s original Season 5 and the current Season 15:
Confused? Yeah I was too… but before I break the above down even further… let’s look at the data between Season 5 and Season 15:
There… now that you have the data let’s go back to the charts:
She Knows interviewed Kelly Monaco in the rehearsal studio. At the beginning you can she and Val dancing. They talk of how intense this season is compared to the first season she danced. She and Val are just trying to do the very best they can and outdo how they danced the week before. More below including how Kelly stays active and in shape when she’s not dancing.
Dancing With The Stars pro Tony Dovolani joined the Afterbuzz crew to run through and critique the dances this week. First, he starts off by telling them that his family is ok from the hurricane. Then he runs through each dance. On Gilles, he might overdo it, but, that’s who he is since he’s an ‘actor’. He thought Sabrina was one of the best dancers to ever come on the show and she could win a ballroom competition. On Kelly and Val, they are “the sexiest couple of the season”. On himself and Melissa, it’s a “dream come true ride”. In fact, of all the seasons on Dancing With The Stars, Tony is the most proud of this one. He finally has a partner who he can really work with. He and Melissa plan to keep giving it everything they have and lay it all on the dance floor every week for what he thinks everyone should do. Lots more below with Tony.
