The DWTS15 Final Five: VOTE For Who Is Going To Win And Your Favorite (POLLS)
As most of you know, we’re down to five couples on Dancing With The Stars. Since a little more than half of them have been eliminated, let’s get some numbers to see who you think is going to win the Dancing With The Stars All Star Season. Also, who is your favorite couple dancing from these final five? Please vote in our two new Polls and don’t forget to tell us how you voted in comments. You can also rank the couples if you like in the comments. Thanks so much for your participations always!!
I voted for Shawn and Derek in the first poll. Like in our preliminary polls, I think they will still win it.
As for my favorite, this was so hard between four of them (Shawn, Apolo, Melissa, and Emmitt). Each of them are so special in a unique way. In the end, I voted for Apolo and Karina….but, wow, this is so hard. I wanted to vote for Shawn, Melissa, and Emmitt too. On another given day, I would choose one of them instead.
I voted Shawn and Derek on both polls, still think they got it and they sure deserve.
The only result other than Shawn and Derek that I would tolerate is Apolo and Karina, because I like them, I like their dancing and they get underscore all the time, anything other than this two couples I would definitely consider stop watching the show, I did with Idol so I could easily do it with dwts.
I know PH and Court are convinced Apolo will win, but I think Shawn will, so that’s who I voted for in the first poll.
The second poll, hands down, Melissa & Tony are my favorite. I hope she gets the votes next Monday to make the finals, because I think she deserves to over Kelly & Emmitt.
Shawn and Derek have always been my favorites because I am a Houghaholic! But, if I went into this season with no favorites, I would have to vote for Shawn. She has impressed me so much this season. Derek is a phenomenal dancer and choreographer; and Shawn has matched him step for step. And that is not easy. As CAI says, they are always in sync. They are not doing easy dances. Their performances have so much content. I think Derek is having a blast dancing with Shawn. He can choreo anything he wants, and she will “ace” it. They are so much fun to watch.
I like Apolo and Karina, as well. But, the others are doing cookie cutter dances. It seems we have seen all that stuff before in previous seasons. This is All Stars; I want them to prove that they are.
My absolute favorite Derek and Shawn. I say they will win and blow it away with their freestyle.
They are also my favorite couple. I do like Tony Melissa, and Apolo and Karina as well. They are sweet and sincere in their way.
Apolo & Karina are definitely my favorites, but I do think that Shawn & Derek will win…hope I’m proven wrong, but I do enjoy watching both couples!!!
In the first poll, I voted for Shawn & Derek, in the second one, I also voted for Shawn & Derek. As much as I like Melissa, Emmitt & Apolo, Shawn & Derek for me this season, has changed DWTS for the better. Derek is just a first class genius & Shawn has kept up with him to the point that she looks like a pro.

The finals could be fun and entertaining or a mess. I hope the judges wake up and opt for the first. Emmitt and Kelly would be a drag. I already know what to expect from both of them.
I voted for Shawn in both polls. The first one was easy to pick – though Apolo (or someone else) might win, I think it’s unlikely. As to my favorite – that was really tough. Like Vogue, I might have chosen differently on a different day. I love Shawn, Apolo and Melissa, and I’m having a really hard time choosing an absolute favorite. I like them for different reasons, and I rooted for all of them in their original seasons – and I think I was rooting more for Melissa in Season 8 than Shawn, but putting her with Derek really made a huge difference. As far as dancing, Melissa is my third favorite (though it would have been interesting to see what Derek could have gotten out of her – not that I’d want to change the partners). I flop back and forth between Shawn and Apolo – though I think Shawn and Derek have had more memorable dances. If Shawn, Apolo and Melissa are in the finals, I will be totally satisfied – and any of them could win and I would be happy (I’m saying this now – I will probably figure out who is my favorite really is when it comes down to the wire and I find myself rooting for one them to win). Fourth favorite for me is Emmitt (though during the first few weeks, I would have said Kelly – but Emmitt’s grown on me, and Kelly has backslid).
I’ve said since prior to day one that Shawn and Derek were going to win and nothing I’ve seen has changed that.
As for my favourite couple left? Melissa and Tony. She’s just so genuinely happy all the time! They’re having a ton of fun together and it shows that they have become even closer friends over this season. I would love to see them win, but I’ll be happy if they make it to the finals.
LINZ – I am 100% with you on all your comments, when they said ALL-STARS what Derek & Shawn are doing, is what I was looking for. It cast consist of winners, runners up and Britsol & Pam! Why throw them all these challenges and we are seeing the same old, same old.
In the first poll, I voted for Shawn and Derek. I said before the season started I thought they would win, and I still do.
In the second poll, I voted for Melissa. She is by far my favorite, and I’m holding out hope that she’ll make the finals. I’m voting by phone and e-mail (though I do not have a ton of e-mail addresses) and I have my mother and two of my aunts, as well as some co-workers voting for her now too.

I don’t think this has been addressed super recently, if it has I can’t remember and I’m sorry. Is next week another double elim? If I’m thinking correctly about that scheduling post from a while back, it is, right?
I think Shawn and Derek will win. From what I’ve seen so far, I think they should/deserve to win. I love them as a team and I love seeing the dances Derek comes up with and her execution. But my favorite couple still is Apolo/Karina and I sure hope they make it to the finals. There’s only one team left that I don’t really care for, she seems too sour all the time and he takes himself too seriously and has turned me off on a number of occasions with some of his tweets, and such negative comments about other pros and celebs.
I voted Shawn and Derek on both. I followed Shawn’s Gymnastic career but only because I love gymnastics and Shawn was never one of my favorites. Nor was she my favorite during her season with Mark on DWTS. I liked her with Mark but I did not vote for them. The last 8 weeks have totally changed my mind. I think her and Derek are a perfect match and they bring out the very best in each other. The last few weeks it is like watching two pro’s dance and she was equally good with Mark on that fusion and with both of them on the trio dance. I don’t like tribal dancing in any way but I overlooked my dislike of it and focused on what they were actually doing and it was pretty amazing. I don’t care if she has already won the MB or how many times Derek has won it, for me they are the most deserving and they have gotten almost all of my votes. I have given a few to Emmitt and a few to Apolo but overall I really believe Shawn and Derek will and should win.

Well of course Shawn & Derek are going to win a poll on this website considering it’s filled to the brim with Derek lovers (I’m not saying that’s a bad thing). I actually think Kelly might win now (not that I want her to). She has a TON of soap fans who will probably stay up all night voting for her. I mean, just look at her popularity on the abc boards (yeah I know maybe 50% of the accounts are “sockpuppets” but the sock puppets will still vote using all those accounts). Oh well, hopefully Apolo can get to the Finals. *crosses fingers*

I always thought Shawn would win, but I still think that Emmit may take the MBT as well. Especially if it will be Shawn, Mellisa and Emmit in the finale.

I liked them so much, that I am actually power voting, have never done it before.
Eh, one thing I am totally confident in saying is that Kelly won’t win. There’s no way she beats two Olympians and a charming football player. I’m no longer sure that Apolo will win, not sure of Emmitt’s fanbase – but I am pretty confident in saying that Kelly won’t win. She may have a lot of fans…but the others have more, I’m sure.
For the record, Tony, I’ve never said I thought Apolo would win – I’ve always thought it was going to be Shawn. I just like Apolo & want him in the finale.
I voted for Shawn and Derek because I think they are the best dancers with the best choreography this season. I would love to see Apolo and Melissa in the finals too. I don’t think it will happen, but I would be thrilled for Tony if they won. I think these three celebs are so likable and they are damn fine dancers!

I voted for Shawn & Derek in both polls. I went into the show having certain favorites, but once it started, things changed (for example, my opinion of Gilles changed drastically and not favorably.) Shawn & Derek have impressed me the most, both with their dance abilities, willingness to take risk, ability to entertain, and overall likability. That said, I also like Apolo and, surprisingly, Melissa (she annoyed me her original season, but has impressed me this season).
Everything Linz #4 said…only difference she was my fav going in but I had to see them together first. After that it was all of the above.
It is kinda of hard to explain, unique, special team just doesn’t get it. But it’s something about Derek’s usual creativity being triggered by the live audiences and circumstances, and with Shawn, if he can imagine it, she can do it. He’s never had that before, closest was Nicole,so he can call on everything he’s got to create these dances. And Shawn, just tons of potential and bravery and she’s been smart. She put it in his hands and trusted him which is the only way it can work when they have such limited amounts of time to create and practice.
I am terribly biased towards Derek because I think he is the best, but the 2 of them, as a team…no-one deserves to win the first “All_Star” trophy more than this team. All of their dances have been miles more packed with content and almost perfect execution than any of the others. Exciting + fun,poignant + touching. Memorable !
My favorite is Apolo and Karina, of course, my avatar gives that one away.
I think Shawn will win. This entire season has seemed physically effortless for her. And with the a season filled with tricks and lifts, it has only highlighted her physical flexibility even more, that and being matched with the King of choeography it beens an awesome season for them.
In my opinion, if any one could upset the apple cart I think it could be Apolo. If his freestyle is fresh, new, and something out-of-the box, and super exciting, I think (without knowing any of the celebrities fanbase), that he possibly could win it all.
And I agree with the poster above, I am enjoying Melissa much more this time around, and I am so happy for Tony. So they are my picks for the finale. Hoping it’s not Emmitt, zzzzzzzzz, or Morticia.

I’m feeling better today so I’m not as catty. I’m more purr than hiss.
Emmitt might pull an upset and make it to the finals. Having Apolo in the bottom although it was most likely a fake bottom might make people hesitant to vote for him and pull their votes elsewhere. Then again he might have been the top vote puller all along and might end up winning it. Mel was on ET last night and world news is now calling her the front runner. But Val/Kelly’s time is up. Way up.
At this point who knows. It will be interesting to see the Vegas odds.
I voted for Apolo and Karina in both polls. I do love Shawn and Derek though and I think the sheer joy of Melissa and Tony when they get high scores is so cute to watch. Really, can they have three winners this year? Each of these couples brings something special to dancing in their own unique ways. I am sorry, but the level of Emmitt’s dancing has just not been as good it seems to me as these other couples dancing. I think Apolo has been way underscored this season and I think he and Karina should win.
I think it’s Shawn’s to lose, but Apolo is my fave so I’m hoping for an upset. As long as Apolo, Shawn and Melissa are in the finale, I’ll be ok with whoever wins. All 3 are great and deserving.

But still….Kelly is my favorite.
And even though I’m like a die hard fan (but not insane in the threaten your life if you diss her kind of way) I can admit that she probably won’t win.
I would like her to be in the finals though.
Because something about Melissa is just ehh for me. I don’t really like her. But Tony is sooo cute when they get good scores lol.

I think Shawn and Derek will win it, I though so in the beginning and still think they’ll take the Mirror Ball.
As for my favorite, it’s Kelly & Val. I didn’t see her the first time around, but I watched her Season1 dances on youtube, and she’s come so far from then. I thought for sure she’d be gone by week3, but she’s surprised me. She doesn’t seem very liked here, but I’ve really enjoyed seeing her grow (would love for her to make finals). Melissa & Tony are a close number 2, they are such a joy to watch. She and Tony have worked so hard this season, I think they deserves the win (hope Tony finally gets a Mirror Ball of his own).
I like Apolo, can’t say a bad thing about him. He’s giving it his all.
Emmitt, he is the only one I wouldn’t want to see at the end, he just doesn’t seem to be pushing himself at all. He’s a nice guy, but he’s been such a disappointment for me this time around. No growth. No challenges. Just getting by on booty shaking and charm (the judges have been to generous when scoring him, IMO) The other four all have something to offer in their own way.
My vote is Shawn & Derek. They have been the most exciting this year, imo, I’m amazed at how well Shawn is picking up the dances, doesn’t miss a beat and is showing emotion.
in my mind they deserve to win because of their creativity with all their dances – this is what All Stars should be about.
As much as I love Derek and have voted for him on several seasons, Shawn isn’t doing it for me. I do, however, think they’ll win easily over any of the other couples.
Other than that, I can’t even begin to guess the final order. I’m only hoping Apolo will be alongside Shawn.

I think Shawn will win, Apolo being the dark horse. These two have really pushed the boundaries of celebrity performances. Apolo is slightly more my favorite, but I’d be fine with Shawn winning, of course. Melissa is a good person and a good dancer, but she is a distant third for me. Then Emmitt, although I’d be fine with him in the finals as well over Melissa. Then far behind is Kelly and Val, although I think she is a better dancer than Emmitt and I enjoyed them the first few weeks, they’ve overplayed their showmance a little too much and she is such a sourpuss that I can’t find her engaging at all.
Wow, in reading the comments above. Sounds like a slam dunk to me. I hate a season when you know from day one whom the winner is going to be. Just makes me more determined to support my favorite of Apolo, the come from behind kid.
Last year Donald was the favorite, BUT with all the pimpage of Willy, it did shed some doubt, until he was called as 3rd place, then I knew Donald probably had the MBT. And the year creepy Donny Osmond was cast, please…. I knew as soon as the cast was announced that was going to win, if it hadn’t been for my adoration of Kelly Osbourne then I probably would have said “No thanks” to that season, I loved him as a young man, but at this stage of his life, he gives me the creeps.

Shawn and Derek will probably win. There’s no reason to think they wouldn’t, she’s a 20 year old olympic gymnast. He’s a 20 something award winning dancer/choreographer, both with big fan bases. So I voted for them to win just like I did in the first poll before the season started.
Now, my favorite couple still in the competition is Melissa and Tony. His happiness is heart warming this season and I think Melissa is a beautiful dancer. I’d love to see them win it all.

I would say I like Melissa as much as Tony, but I really just think Shawn deserves it more. Shawn and Derek have put out one memorable dance after another and does it with amazing technique, character and strength. I can remember a few of Melissa’s and I couldn’t remember the majority of the others.
Do Shawn and Derek have the fan votes? I think not! Apollo, Emmitt and Kelly are the 3. Judge votes are fine BUT you need the fans!

I voted for Shawn & Derek in both polls. Those two have created some of the best dances the show has seen in my opinion. Innovative, creative, beautifully executed, and exciting. I also think Shawn has improved by a substantial amount from her first season. Even better technique than before (and her technique was fantastic the first time) and complete 180 in showmanship. These two really brought out the best in each other and they are just pure joy for me to watch.
That being said, I do love Apolo & Karina and Melissa & Tony as well and I would love for them to be in the finals with Shawn & Derek. Apolo & Karina have really seemed to make an upward climb and they are also a very exciting, likable couple. Melissa & Tony are just a breath of fresh air to me. So pleasant and enjoyable, with some pretty darn good dances to boot.
I voted for Melissa and Tony in both polls. Ok ok I know beating 4 champs and winning the whole thing is a long shot, but I’m feeling really optimistic today! I love them love them love them and I am trying to will them to the win! LOL

As I see it, Cheryl just can’t win the trophy this… Winning may affect the storyboarding for her upcoming potential gig..

I want Apolo to win but I can live with (and probably will have to live with) Shawn winning because she’s very good as well. Anyone else, I’ll be really disgusted with this whole season. I’ve already been really disgusted with this season for a number of reasons, and at this point BOTH Apolo and Shawn making it to the finale and one of them winning is the only thing that will redeem this season for me.
Tough choice between Shawn and Melissa. It’s been so fun watching Shawn as a young adult, rather than a shy girl. It’s also been fun watching Derek stretch more than usual with his Star, which he can do given both her talent and the special season itsself. As for Melissa, she is right up on top of the “Nice Person-O-Meter” with Chelsie, and it’s been fun watching Tony have fun with a talented Star, rather than the not-so great (read pretty awful, in some cases) ones he’s had lately. Whatever the outcome, I hope we are all ready for the shock of a lower level of ability and competition next season. I know I’m getting spoiled by this one!
I don’t think Shawn and Derek should win DWTS because Derek has 3 Mirror Ball Trophies already. This time, let one of the professional who hasn’t won have a chance to win.
Nancy – last time I check the show is call “dancing with the stars”, in the end of the day it is about Shawn. The show is not about let other professional win for a change. and If Derek won three times is because he and his partners deserved, pretty much every pro had his shot to the MBT at least once (aside from Tristan and maybe Chelsie).

Nancy, I see no basis for your comment at all. It’s not about passing around the MB so everyone can get one, Its about who is deserving of it and who has progressed the most and who is most likeable on the dance floor. Shawn has danced her heart out this season. That doesn’t mean other haven’t also done the same but according to you, they or any of the others who have ever won the MB, shouldn’t even waste their time and energy being there. Just plain silly!

Nancy, what a poor excuse not to win a mirror ball. Were you ever in any sports or in any competitions when you were growing up? How would you have felt if someone said you shouldn’t have won because you won before?
Nancy I get what you are saying.
When it comes to the SuperBowl even though I am a huge Giants fans. HUGE. I kind of like it when two different teams go in each year. Its like you don’t want your team to get a big head.
But here’s the thing.
Derek didn’t win last season even if he had that would be like saying the Giants have won the Superbowl before so why even let them in the playoffs because they don’t need to go to the Superbowl EVER again. I mean like ever. Never-ever-ever.
So by saying Derek shouldn’t win you are also saying in a way, why even bother letting him into the semi-finals much less the finals. Yes, Shawn has won before but so has Cheryl and Emmitt. Kelly has won but Val hasn’t so does it count as Kelly winning that they shouldn’t get one (not that they have a snowballs chance and shouldn’t) Both Apoplo and Karina have won one so that leaves them out. So that means Mel/Tony win by default because neither of them have won one. So why even have a finals if it should go to someone that hasn’t won one. The point of an All-Star season is to get the more popular contestants together, a majority of which already have a MBT. So in turn none of those should win because they have one, even though their pro doesn’t. So in a way there it isn’t a reason to have a semi-finals or a finals. It also wouldn’t be fair to Mel/Tony because no one wants a pity MBT. They want to compete for it.
I mean seriously would you not want the Giants to ever not go to the Superbowl again just because they have won three already?
Unless you want to give everybody a mini-mirror ball trophy for participating so no one gets their feelings hurt.
So Nancy, Derek shouldn’t win because he’s already won 3 times? He’s the best choreographer on the show, he’s been nominated for Emmy’s MANY times. Has Tony? Has Cheryl? Has Maks? Yeah, that’s what I thought.
I loved Shawn when she won Season 8. She’s 3 yrs older now & much more polished! Derek can do things he’s never been able to do before with her due to her sheet athleticism.
My house & my Mom, sister & niece have ALL been voting for Shawn & Derek!! I’d love to see Derek win a 4th mirrorball in his final season as a competing pro!! He DESERVES it!!

Shawn also had to handle working with a new partner as well as Apolo and Kelly. Some might say Melissa, the most technically trained dancer and with her original partner, has an advantage. She also will dances too soft for me. She is not a revelation as Len described. She is the same as season 8.
Kelly, Shawn and Apolo have improved IMO from their original seasons. But total package is Shawn this season.
Melissa – you made a good point about Melissa, now that you mention, she is indeed the same dancer she was in season 8, good dancer but I don’t think she improved at all. SHe is still the same soft pretty dancer she was.
Shawn, Apolo and Kelly are not the same att all, the difference is gigantic, I think being with hew partner helps in that point.
Love Apolo and Karina but I wouldn’t be unhappy if Shawn and Derek won.
Melissa is a distant third. I like Emmitt but his dancing isn’t up to par. As for Kelly, ugh – Ms. Sourpuss should have been eliminated long ago.

With their combined fan base, not to mention killer dance/choreography skills, I think Shawn/Derek have it in the bag.

1) Apolo (I’m not voting for him though. I’m not a big Karina person and I don’t think he needs it. However, I’ll vote for him to win. I am pretty annoyed by the low scoring of him too.)
2) Kelly (I totally 100% see your issues with her showmance, which I was glad to see less of, because that is how I felt ALL SEASON with Maria and Derek. Kelly doesn’t bother me, so I vote for her. Not to mention, I don’t like John O’Hurley; she beat john O’Hurley. Therefore, I think highly of her.
She’s the original winner which is cool.)
3) Shawn (She doesn’t have a personality that really pops for me. Please don’t hurt me for saying that. She seems really sweet. I don’t mind that Derek uses her gymnastics tricks in the dance because they hide whatever weaknesses she has. However, she doesn’t have many weaknesses. I still think she’ll win and I am okay with it.)
4) Melissa (It took me a LONG time to like her. When I say LONG, I mean up until three days ago, I was NOT a fan. She is over scored and that still bugs me. My biggest issue with her is the fact that this show is called Dancing with the Stars, not Dancing with the Bachelor Losers. I started to like her last week when she didn’t expect to be safe, just because she had such high scores. I also realized she always say something positive in the post elimination interviews about the eliminated contestant. On a slightly unrelated note, what’s with the necklace that she wears every week? It looks like a sideways cross. I’m curious about it.)

I think Shawn and Derek will win but my favorite couple is Melissa and Tony. My votes are going to them to go to the finals.
Derek has the phenomenal ability to bring out the very best out in his partners. I don’t think very many of the other Pro’s have that same talent. Look what he’s done with Shawn this season! She has an aura about her that she didn’t have with Mark in Season 8. I think she’s very sweet and quiet and also a bit shy.
Melissa is the same as she was in Season 8 as well. Apolo is better but I dunno…I just don’t see passion from him at all. Not like I do with Shawn and Derek.
For the record, I think Shawn will win. Want to see Apolo and Melissa in the finals also. If that happens, I’ll be fine with whoever takes the MBT. I’m enjoying all 3 of these celebs much more than I did first time around.
My favorite contestant is Melissa. I love to watch her. And I’m glad she’s paired with Tony again. He’s a true gentleman.

I really can’t guess who’s gonna win. One week I think “Kellys gonna win for sure” next week “there’s no way Shawns not winning the MBT” and then I think “Apolo is improving, he’s the winner of the season”. I think I never thought Melissa as a winner. Its because I thought that Melissa would be gone in the first double elimination and it was week 3 I guess. Since then, every week I’m thinking “this time Melissas going home for sure” but she made it to semi-finals. I’m happy:). I still don’t think that she can win the MBT because while I think that she’s getting a lot of votes I’m not sure if its enough to go to finals. Because it is double elimination-again. I can’t guess who’s going to win so I just voted for Kelly as the winner. But it would be great if Melissa won
. Doesn’t mean that I don’t like other couples, I like all the couples. I think Emmitt is probably the weakest dancer left but I’m even fine with him winning. Its a great semi-final, one of the best I’ve seen in a while.
@Lindsey, Melissa is such a sweetheart. I don’t think its important that she’s a bachelor girl or not. DWTS had some people that are not real “stars” for me but I don’t care. If all the bachelor girls are like Melissa, just bring them to the show:). You can ask her about the necklace, I saw a lot of people asking her “where did you get this, where did you get that?” and she answers them.
For the first poll, I voted Melissa and Tony. I think they’re going to prop her to a win. Plus, she’s the only non-champion. I think they want a non-champion to win. Then, there are the “Tony is overdue” comments and other junk. People are going to use stuff like that to vote for her.
For the second, since Drew got screwed, Shawn and Derek were my second favorite. So, now, they’ve blown into first place.
I voted for Shawn and Derek in both polls, but you didn’t ask who I *wanted* to win. Even though I really like Shawn and Derek, I think Melissa is doing a terrific job, and I think she and Shawn are pretty evenly matched. That being said, I’m hoping Melissa and Tony win, because yes, I would indeed like to see Tony with the mirror ball trophy. I think he and Melissa are deserving of it this season and I’m enjoying seeing him finally get the chance to shine (and get his partner to shine) after he’s had so many lackluster partners.
I keep trying to envision the double elimination night and how TPTB will present it.
I know it’s impossible to tell until there are dances and scores for Monday but I’d be curious to see if they put up Kelly v. Melissa first on Tuesday and Melissa stays.
Then save the three athletes for the end, Shawn safe and that leaves Apolo v. Emmitt.
If that final three winds up being some crazy mix of Shawn, Emmitt and Kelly, I wouldn’t bother watching the finale. I’d just look up Shawn’s win afterwards or ff to that part anyway.
First Shawn technically far surpasses the other celebs…she looks just like a pro in my opinion…she projects an innocence that is frankly delightful and you can just see her blossoming…Derek as usual has brought out the best in her…he hasn’t forced her into ultra “sexy” costumes but none the less the are creative and somewhat daring…she has achieved what Bristol Palin always wanted to do but made such a huge to do out of it. I thought one of the most telling things of the season was when Shawn talked about her being taught her whole life in gymnastics to not show emotion and how Derek has gently led her down the path of opening herself up and allowing people to see inside her. He has done that with grace, simplicity, and honesty. That is what makes him the pro of pro’s. That also is what makes him deserve a mirrorball trophy again…Shawn has few weaknesses to cover, it was more like strengths to bring out. Ever pro is good in their own way…but that doesn’t mean they are the best or their celeb is best…this season Derek’s choreograph has been beyond amazing and Shawn’s ability to go with the flow and look like a pro has been unmatchable They deserve to win because they are the best. I love Apollo and I like Melissa, but are they at the same level as Shawn and Derek…not even close…and frankl I don’t care what the judges say…because they are full of shit.
Umm, have made a mistake .. sorry for that .. voted both times for Apolo/Karina, because I would like them to win.
But I actually don’t think they will win.
So my first vote should have been Shawn or Melissa.
So far read on Twitter that, Apolo has the rumba/jazz, Emmett tango/lindy hoop Melissa hustle and Flamenco.
Rumba like VW can be a boring dance for the casual viewers. Has to be something spectacular to attract people attention.
Tango and Argentine Tango are strong dances that can caught the public eyes.
Melissa doesn’t have flamenco – KELLY has flamenco.

Geez, it’s sad because between Heidi and I, I think there has only been two posts on Derek and a picture in the last two weeks. Some complain there isn’t enough Derek news here and now too much. Crazy. Like you said, if you don’t like it, go somewhere else.

Beautifully put Lynn #75 ! Derek figured out a long time ago what it takes to get the best out of his partner. He emphasizes their strengths and hides their flaws. You don’t often see that in the rehearsal packages of the other pros. Shawn and Derek’s rehearsal package from the Rumba left me in awe as much as the actual dance did! To hear him explain to her the emotion of the dance and letting people see “who she is” was just inspiring! Derek is the real deal as a person and as a choreographer/dancer/teacher/therapist! Kudos to all who raised him! I was lucky to meet him in June and left even more amazed by the man – genuine, humble, sincere, and OH THOSE BLUE EYES!
I just wanted to put my two cents in again. #75 said it perfectly. Derek & Shawn are the real deal. They deserve to win this All Star Season because that is what they are. They have challenged the choreography each week and thrilled the audiences each week also.
Derek has challenged Shawn and she has been amazing and totally believes in him – love this partnership.
I will be voting like crazy.
It will be such a shame if they don’t win.
I’m certainly going to miss Derek next year if he plans to leave – he deserves to do Broadway etc so lots can see this very talented young man. Thanks for letting me vent. Love me some Hough.

If Apolo and Shawn makes it, Apolo will win over Shawn. Apolo is Shawn and Derek’s biggest threat at this stage.
I think I’ve prob. asked this b4 but I just don’t get the Derek-hate. He has done amazing things on DWTS, done great things for his partners+mostly little drama. He has more choreography, points of interest and presents his dances in unique ways(angles, lighting)to make “same” dances a little more interesting. I’ve never hard him speak nasty to or about anyone else(+ there have been times I wish he would just give someone a beatdown)he’s decent to the judges etc. AND ON TOP OF THAT, like someone said earlier, I’ve met him couple of times, ppl I know have met him or run into him in places and he is always great,nice and lots of other complimentary things !!! So, the ?, Why?
Then yes, I thought this season would be good, but the things that he and Shawn have been able to do are beyond amazing(and happily I’ll bet he is having a blast coming up with choreo he couldn’t do before)She really deserves this. And I was worried about Apollo starting out cause I loooved his earlier season being with Karina, also good at choreo. But he hasn’t had that WOW factor and he doesn’t dance as well as Shawn. Derek is going to win. Nobody can compare other teams with them. Last week that team white teeth was close to being comparable but they were lucky. It was once in a million year bad week for Derek. Can’t believe 30 year old kids who don’t need glasses can’t see the simple truth; Derek is going to win!
I voted for Melissa, but I also want two other couples for the finals. It would be dream finals.
I didn’t vote for who’s going to win DWTS poll, I don’t have any idea. I used to think some of them has small fanbases, but I’m not sure now.
I forgot to add, I think this week will be a game changer. There will be a lot of “love it or hate it” situations with Caveman Hustle, Surfer Flamenco and Knight Rider Benghra. Big Top Jazz and Espionage Lindyhop sounds less risky, but it means they need to come up with edgy ideas to avoid being forgettable.
In my opinion, the most exciting news was Melissa doing an Argentine Tango. Argentine Tango was one of Melissa’s stronger dances before season 15. After seeing her tango in the fusion dance and trio paso doble, I’m convinced that she’s going to dance Argentine Tango even more passionately this season. Personally, her Argentine Tango is top 2 along with Gilles Marini’s season 8 AT. Melissa has that Latino look when she dances AT, it increases the attraction of her AT even more. I don’t have the slightest idea about Caveman Hustle, but I know that Melissa is going to conquer AT once again.
I picked Kelly and Val for both polls. Kelly and Val are already winners as they found each other. They’ll also win the competition. Although there are rumors about Kelly having a boyfriend, the people I talk doesn’t care about the rumors. I can say that they don’t believe Kelly has a boyfriend, even if she has a boyfriend, I don’t know if Vally fans would care. You can believe me, I am one of them. lol This is how I see it but maybe in the US things are different. This website doesnt have that as much Vally fans as I see among my friends, my part time job and my university. Maybe Val is more appealing to the Europeans, I don’t know. I suck at predictions. I’m more of an emotional type, I hate numbers. As an emotional person, my instincts say Vally is going to win not only the hearts of a lot of viewers but also the trophy.
I usually vote for the couples based on their performance. If Emmitt is going to get highest scores from me next week, which I don’t see happening, then I’m going to vote for him. If it’s Kelly, then I’ll vote for Kelly, if it’s Shawn I’ll vote for Shawn. Until I see their freestyles and remaining dances, I don’t think I can tell who is getting my votes to win DWTS.
Every couple is struggling with choreography this week. They all say they have no clue about what to do. It’s a tough challenge and it’s hard to blend the styles with the given titles. This is another reason I’m not sure about my votes yet.

Melissa is still rather “soft” on dances like the Paso – if she can sharpen it up, she should be good. One of Melissa’s best qualities is also her biggest drawback on those dances, besides being soft – she’s a very “sunny” person. She hasn’t been called on it yet and it was just under the surface in her Trio. I think that’s why Tony put the shouting in there, which was actually a pretty clever move. That shouting could have made her nervous (which would keep her from being smiley) and then doing it, focused her back in on the mood of the dance.
I REALLY want a final three of Shawn, Apolo and Melissa – those are the three best dancers and, coincidentally, the three I like the most. As worried as I get about Shawn and people assuming she’s safe, I think realistically Melissa is in the most danger.
I also worry people assume Shawn will be safe but her not in the finals for all stars would be ridiculous.
The only two I care to be in the finals are Shawn and Apolo. I am fine wit Emmitt over Melissa even though she is technically better. I just love Emmitt’s attitude and he is more memorable to me than Melissa.
I feel like Kelly’s gonna take the MBT. She’s not the winner I want but I’ll be ok with it if she wins.
Sooo…. who is my favorite couple? Actually, I was so excited for Shawn before the show started. I thought Gilles, Shawn and Apolo would be my favorite couples. But I’m really disappointed in Shawn because I want to see her dance. I know some people like different choreography but I don’t. I’ve been watching the show for a long time and no, I didn’t see the every possible samba yet. Do I get bored when the other couples dance a traditional samba? No. Sorry but I didn’t find Shawn’s samba entertaining or memorable. I remember Melissa’s or even Emmitt’s samba more clearly than Shawn’s samba.
Apolo was really good, he was my favorite for four weeks or so. But I don’t find him exciting anymore. I don’t know why. Looks like he’s not trying.
Gilles… I didn’t like his dancing this season.
So, who is my favorite? Well, for a few weeks it was Emmitt. But last week, Emmitt did a very easy waltz and salsa. So, not rooting for him anymore. Kelly did an amazing jive. I don’t think Shawn improved much. Her dancing? Good but not much different from her original season. Some of her dances were better in season 8. Like cha cha, samba, rumba and quickstep. She didn’t seem to have proper hip action in samba and rumba this season. Besides she’s not light on her feet most of the time. Anyway, is she a great performer? Yes, but a great dancer? No.
I think Melissa is the most “varied” dancer of this season, not sure if it’s the right word. She can nail ballroom, she can nail latin and she’s improved a lot, her dances are always impactful, much better than her original season.
I like to watch Apolo, Kelly and Emmitt but I don’t think they’re as good as Melissa. And I don’t know how much they improved since I didn’t watched their original seasons(1, 3 and 4 I guess). But I think Apolo’s gonna win the tropy at the end.

I think Shawn and Derek are goo but let’s face it Shawn does her acrobats. Is that really dancing? I like Emmett and Cheryl and feel they have more potential than what has been shown. It is anybodies guess.
Hoping and praying for Apolo & Karina in the finals! Also hoping for real scores tonight for Shawn & Apolo. My ideal final would be Apolo, Shawn & Melissa. Emmitt would be tolerable, although I don’t really care for Cheryl. I’ve had enough of Kelly & Val!

LOL I think I’ve seen Shawn do one acrobatic move …and that was during the trio dance. There were no rules against doing it, so I don’t see the big deal?
I am sick of all these comments putting Shawn down. People must be blind if they can’t see her dancing.She dances her heart out each and every single week. There is a couple of them I cannot stand and I do not come here solely to trash them or to make silly unfounded comments that everyone knows is not true. Not only that, even if she were (she isn’t) using a lot of gymnastic combined with dance it is that combination that makes some of the most beautiful dancing by professionals ever.
