If you don’t know, Tito Ortiz is a UFC champ who recently retired. Tito talks at length about bullying and fighting against it – fantastic cause. At the end of the discussion, of COURSE Access Hollywood has to ask him if he would consider doing DWTS. It’s SO random, that I have to wonder if they were prompted to ask. Anyway, at first he’s like “oh, I took a little interest in it” but as he goes on it sounds like he’d like to show Chuck Liddell how it’s done and he said he always told his fans that if he did it would be after he retired…and he’s now retired. So…who knows? We’ve had more than one celebrity respond to a random question like this in a somewhat vague manner who then ended up being on the show that season.
Girlfriend, chill out. You’re very pretty, but like I said in a previous post – campaigning never works. Ever. If you get on the show, you will be the first. :-)
No, I haven’t gone crazy. CraziER. :-) Daniella is goading her fans into spamming @DancingABC about putting her on the show. It’s a bit out of hand. First, Just Jared Jr. reported that she wanted to do the show:
Daniella Monet is gunning for a spot on the new season of Dancing With The Stars — and JJJ would love to see her on it!
The 23-year-old actress tweeted a couple weeks ago, “Competing on @dancingabc would be a dream come true. I have 0 professional experience, but I’d give it everything!!”
Now, she of Nickelodeon fame, is trying to get her own personal DWTS hashtag trending on twitter. Lawd, it’s hard to find real rumors in between all the campaigns that have sprung up in the last week. :-)
It must be January, because the guessing games have begun. :-) Let me remind our readers of the difference between a real rumor, a campaign and a simple answer to a question.
A real rumor is just that – a rumor. Someone says “so and so is going to be on DWTS” – not just anyone, but someone who might be in a position to know or hear something. A campaign is when a “star” puts it out there (often over and over again) that they want to be on the show and they get their fans to spam ABC to get them on the show. Word to the wise – this has NEVER worked. We have yet to see a celebrity campaign their butts off and actually make it on to the show.
Option 3 is when some silly reporter randomly asks a celebrity (perhaps at the prompting of that celebrity’s PR person prior to the interview) if they would do DWTS. That allows the celebrity to signal their willingness to do the show without looking like they are campaigning.
Today we have what I think is the beginnings of a campaign – it’s hard to tell. You be the judge:
I love dancing :) tweeties do you think I’d be good on dancing with the stars?? I feel like I’d kick butt lol
ETA: I added this before but it didn’t post – Lots of her fans are suggesting Derek or Mark but I say give her to Maks cuz he LOVES him some Jersey Shore. ;-)
Has promo just began for the release of Derek Hough’s new movie “COBU 3D” ….or uhhh, should we say “COBU”? Yesterday, director Duane Adler answered questions from fans regarding the movie at twitter. Here is what we found out (and I hope I didn’t miss anything):
1. Cobu is an Indie movie
2. The title is still undecided. “3D” has definitely been dropped.
3. In post production, two new dance scenes were added to the movie: one with Derek in New Orleans and another “steamy one” with Derek & BoA! The scenes “enhanced the plot”, but, didn’t change it.
4. The Trailer is nearly finished. Derek has written a song for the movie called “Let Me In” which will show up not only in the movie, but, in the trailer and for marketing.
5. They are hoping for a 2013 release favorably towards the end of the summer when dance movies (such as the “Step Up” movies) have done well. Duane thinks they have a shot of it being a “surprise hit”.
Lots more in detail at Pure Derek Hough at this link where you can get all the latest info on this movie. Heidi has stills, video teasers, and all the recent tweets for what transpired yesterday with director Duane Adler. So, be sure to check it out as this post doesn’t do it justice. Heidi, may have more to add below too. Yay, bring this movie on!!
Heidi: Duane is on Twitter again today and added the following comments:
– He wants to show “behind the scenes” during the marketing;
– They are planning to release this year in USA, Europe AND Asia;
– BoA, who is a huge music star in Asia, will have a new song time to the release of the movie;
– Trailer will be done next week, then it will be mixed for a week.
All I can say is…about time!! We’ve been waiting long enough, but I guess with Indie pics that’s the name of the game.
