Cheryl Burke Would Like Another Judge Added To Dancing With The Stars (New Interview)

Too Fab interviewed Cheryl Burke. They ask her on the “bad dancers” who are rumored to dance on Dancing With The Stars. They also ask Cheryl on her dream partner and what kind of changes she’d like to see on the show. Below is a take…

toofab: There are reports “Dancing With the Stars” is looking for more BAD dancers this season to boost ratings. What do you think?

Cheryl: I don’t think we need bad dancers. The beauty of the show is to see someone with no dance experience and see the journey they go through. Last season [the “All-Stars” edition] everyone was already so good so it wasn’t as fun [to watch].

toofab: You’ve been paired with athletes (Emmitt Smith) and entertainers with dance backgrounds (Drew Lachey) and people with none (Tom DeLay). Which partnerships are more challenging? Athletes are known to be perfectionists.

Cheryl: I’ve been competing since I was 13. I always been trained, same with athletes. You don’t have to walk on eggshells with them. Our show is a competition, and if you can’t take direction, you shouldn’t be on it.

toofab: Who would your dream partner be?

Cheryl: A male soccer player or male tennis player.

toofab: Like a Gerard Pique or Tom Djokovich?

Cheryl: [Laughs] I’d love to do an all-athlete season.

toofab: What other changes should the show should go through?

Cheryl: I love our judges so much but adding another judge would be interesting. Also, the stage is not intimate enough. Dance is intimate. When [the producers] made it bigger, people couldn’t relate to what’s going on.

I think it would be interesting for them to add another judge too. Though I think the current stage is cool. What do you think? More at Too Fab.

Anna Trebunskaya Graces Red Carpet At “Jekyll & Hyde” Premiere (Photos)

It’s always so cool to see Anna Trebunskaya!! Last night, the Dancing With The Stars diva graced the Red Carpet at the “Jekyll & Hyde” premiere in Los Angeles, California at the Pantages Theatre. You can view more pics of Anna at Getty Images. Beautiful and what a breath of fresh air!

Forget Emily…How about Bachelor Sean on DWTS Season 16?? (Rumors!!)

In a crazy…some might say TOO crazy…twist, Reality Steve is quoting US Weekly (hitting stands today) saying that the current Bachelor, Sean, is going to be on DWTS:

According to a report in “US Weekly” that hit stands today, “a deal hasn’t been finalized, but it’s likely” that Sean will be announced as an official cast member on February 26th, when “Good Morning America” makes the announcement. Well, they certainly aren’t casting both of them, and Sean is the “hotter” name right now because his season ends a week before the DWTS premiere, so I definitely think there’s validity to this story.

Click on the link to read the rest of what Reality Steve has to say on the matter. When he says “both of them” he’s referring to Emily – and he makes a good point. For those that don’t know, Steve is one guy who always knows what’s going to happen on The Bachelor and spoils it often before the season starts. Hell, he’s the only reason why I watch the show. 🙂 He says he thinks it has validity – and I agree, it certainly could. I guess we’ll have to wait and see, but I’m calling this one number 2 on the official “rumor” list.

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

DWTS 15: Why I Hated the All-Star Season

Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated…much to the chagrin of my detractors 😉

Yes, I am back, after a rather prolonged post-season 15 hiatus. Part of it was due to a hectic year-end at work, part of it was due to other stuff, and part of it had to do with what I’m about to elaborate on in this post. Thanks to everyone who checked in on me on Twitter, and I can assure you I’m back full-time now 🙂

Many of you have noticed that I tend to take a bit of a break from Pure after the end of each season – mainly due to the level of burnout we all seem to reach after being in full-on DWTS mode for 3 months straight while we’re covering each season. Generally, I just need a break – some time to appreciate other things in my life besides DWTS – and I’m back after a week or two. This time, though, I had a harder time getting back into the swing of being excited and inspired to write about DWTS – and for awhile, I couldn’t figure out why. Then I had a revelation…

…I HATED THE ALL-STAR SEASON.

There, I said it. I hated the all-star season, and I think it has now surpassed season 9 as my least favorite season of DWTS EVER. Reflecting on this past season, aside from a few standout performances (and all the great interactions I had with Pure readers :-)), I was hard-pressed to really feel nostalgic and pleased about it. In fact, what I tended to remember the most was all the frustration, chaos, and general feelings of “WTF is going on???” that I had while watching and blogging from week to week – and when I really got to thinking about it, I found that there were 5 key problems that left me feeling totally turned-off the all-star season. Without further ado, I give you those reasons… Read more..
