Aly Raisman Is Excited Because Dancing With The Stars Will Be A Challenge

Aly Raisman tells Boston.com she “clicked” right away with her partner Mark Ballas when they first met this past Sunday. She already feels close to him and the whole cast of Dancing With The Stars. She also talks of her dancing skills. Below is more in detail…

Q. How familiar are you with the rest of the cast?

A. I have met everyone, and it is an awesome cast. I already feel so close to so many people and I have been in contact with a bunch of the cast members since we first met on Sunday. We will keep in touch while I am in Boston and everyone else is spread out around the country practicing. I love meeting new people!

Q. How would you describe your dancing skills?

A. I honestly have no idea how to characterize my dance skills. All I know is that I am going to need a lot of help, because it is actually completely different than gymnastics. I have never tried any of the dances that I will do on the show, so it will definitely be a challenge, but that is why I am so excited. I love working hard and trying new things. When I am with my friends I love to dance and be crazy, but I don’t think about technique. It’s going to be so much fun!

She’s going to be a “go-getter”, isn’t she? To read the full interview, go to Boston.com.

PureDWTS Jacoby Jones Comes From A Long Line Of Dance Lovers In His Family

Baltimore Ravens Jacoby Jones minces no words. He’s taking Dancing With The Stars very seriously. He told E News that he plans to take it the top and win the mirror ball trophy. Check out the fun video here. Also you can see a photo from Jacoby’s childhood. Note how he wasn’t always the big, bulked up guy he is now.

Also, did you know Jacoby’s Mom loves to dance? She told the Baltimore Sun that dancing runs in their family and her son is a “natural”. Be sure to read the last paragraph below for what he told her when she told him he needed to take up ballet. LOL, so cute.

And Jones’ mother, Emily London-Jones, in a telephone interview from New Orleans, said dancing runs in the family and described her son as a natural.

“I love to dance,” said London-Jones, a popular figure with the Ravens after feeding the entire football team during the Super Bowl in New Orleans with her highly-praised Cajun cooking. “My family loves to dance, we all love to dance. Jacoby gets his dancing from me. It’s a religious thing for us, the gospel music. Jacoby grew up with the blues. It’s in his blood. We are all going to be glued to the television.

“I told Jacoby, ‘I want you to take up ballet.’ He’s pigeon-toed and he’s got to drag that foot to get those touchdowns. He told me, ‘Mama, I can’t do no ballet,’ but he has some foxtrot in him. He’s got that rhythm to coordinate. I know the judges are going to love his charisma, and his moves.”

Wynonna Judd Talks Of Dancing With The Stars, Kirstie Alley Being Her Mentor, And More

There is a great piece posted at People.com on Wynonna Judd today. She tells them why she decided to dance on Dancing With The Stars. It’s a great diversion for her because it will help her focus on self-care for herself and other women. Her health declined shortly after her husband Cactus Moser’s leg was amputated in a motorcycle accident last August. Former Dancing With The Stars contestant Kirstie Alley has been her mentor through the process of deciding to do Dancing With The Stars. Check out Kirstie’s advise to her….

“I definitely went into being the wife and caretaker, and I let myself go in terms of way down the list,” she says. “There were days and days and days that I didn’t walk. I’m a walker, and I’m always telling my fans how to be healthy. It’s not about size and numbers, but I can honestly say I’ve seen the pictures from when I got married and before, and I see them now and I think, ‘You know what? I deserve to be healthy. I’m worth it.’ ”

Wynonna calls her pal and two-time former Dancing contestant, Kirstie Alley, 62, her “mentor in this process.”

Says the singer, “I’ve talked to Kirstie so many times. She said if you have fun and you do everything that you’re going to be doing with your heart, the rest will follow. I really believe that. She really misses [the show].”

Wynonna, who is partnered with last season’s all-star winner, Tony Dovolani, is eager to surprise viewers.

“It’s cool because I don’t think a lot of people thought that I would be doing this show,” she says. “There’s a little bit of me that goes, ‘Oh, really? Watch this.’ I do have a competitive part of me.”

Awww, I just love her and her heart. I love how she has a competitive spirit for all of this too. You can read the full story at People.com.
