I'm a fashion and music nut....and I have always loved dancing too of any kind. Dancing With The Stars seems to have this way of bringing all of those things together. Derek Hough (one of my favorite dancers) said at a recent Get Healthy event that ‘dancing’ is an outward expression of what is going on inside you. With all these promos we’ve been seeing, I’m starting to question the fact that there is a 12th couple being added. I mean… shouldn’t they at least be hinting it somehow? I don’t know… I’m beginning to think this 12th couple is probably not happening.
They kinda are,I think Peta is in the promo.
Yeah Peta is there but I meant like something more noticeable. Like for example, the promo saying something about a 12th contestant (something like “but there’s still one more surprise…”).
I guess what I mean is that they haven’t even addressed the fact that there might be a surprise contestant this season.
Besides, if they are going to announce another couple, shouldn’t they at least say something about it so that people expect it and can be on the lookout for it? Because right now people are only expecting another couple because Sean Lowe has been rumored for a while now in other websites and stuff, but nothing directly related to ABC.
Either way, even if I am wrong and they ARE announced it still won’t be much of a difference to me. That pairing (as hot as people claim it is) just seems a bit off to me and I think it’s gonna be just.. “blah”.
Wasn’t impressed with the promo. The pros’ dancing looked hectic, the celebrities looked a little stiff in their poses.
One other thing in the promo – that didn’t sound like a Pitbull song in the background…
I think thats a new song of Christina Aguilera ft. Pitbull (I could be wrong I’m not too sure)
@CC – a PureDWTS reader who was in the audience at the cast announcement confirmed that they had been told a 12th couple would be announced at a later date. It just happened when they weren’t on the air. So there IS a 12th couple, and I’d be shocked if it wasn’t Sean & Peta. Our guess is that they’re hoping to pull viewers from The Bachelor over to DWTS by announcing he’s part of the cast on the After the Final Rose special. It seems like it’s less about “creating buzz” for Sean & Peta as a couple, and more about trying to pull more viewers over to DWTS. I don’t think TPTB really give a hoot & a holler whether Sean & Peta get more press or less press than the other couples – they’re probably more concerned about ratings. As for keeping everyone on their toes & teasing a “mystery 12th couple” – again, I really think it’s more about pulling Bachelor fans over to DWTS than it is creating buzz. They know DWTS viewers will find out who the 12th couple is eventually – seems like they want to surprise the Bachelor viewers & entice them to tune into DWTS.
I’m willing to cut the celebs a break on their poses. The celebs usually look a bit awkward to me in these early promos. They have to do the darn things basically right after the cast reveal, and they shoot them in a great big hurry.
Oh! That makes a lot of sense Courtney. That’s probably it then. It’s just been puzzling me for a while whether or not the 12th couple is actually happening or not.
I mean if it’s gonna be anyone it might as well be Sean Lowe. I just wished he would have been paired up with someone else but Peta (like Lindsay or Karina). I just don’t like that pairing but I guess I’ll suck it up. I still don’t see them going too far in the competition. As for the ratings.. I gotta admit that’s a smart move to get ratings haha.

@al – I can’t wait for the photos either. And I question if the ratings ploy will actually help or not. Seems to me Sean and Peta will be at a disadvantage.
But I guess waiting for this *mysterious* 12th couple is holding things up! Makes me not like the Sean and Peta? pairing even more. *thumbs down* on the wait and see idea.
Oh well, Doesn’t matter for me anyways, I have my top 3 couples picked already, and it doesn’t include them.
Really hope Sean Lowe is on DWTS this season. He is absolutely adorable. Just wish he would get Lacey as a partner instead of Peta.
