Jacoby Jones And Karina Smirnoff Talk Of Their DWTS Rehearsals And More

Karina Smirnoff tells Good Morning Maryland that Jacoby Jones is goofy. They are laughing 90% of the time during their rehearsals for Dancing With The Stars. However, there is a serious side too. They are both very serious about this competition. He won’t take a break when she wants and same with Karina when he wants. He talks a lot of smack, but, he just wants to do well like the previous football players who have done Dancing With The Stars. Lots more below….

In this latest interview, Jacoby doesn’t seem as cocky as in previous interviews – he seems a bit more grounded. He and Karina have some nice chemistry. They have started rehearsals now, so that’s probably helping, both in the chemistry, and in toning the cockiness down.

Karina says they have a great song, outfits, and choreography, she is a master, so I am anxious to see what they can bring to the table (or dancefloor).

I think Miss Smirnoff had a heart to heart chat with Jacoby, this interview was much better than previously, but just like with Aly, I can’t understand him at times.

He He He – now that Jacoby has a few serious rehearsals under his belt, he’s become a little more humble. Why are we not surprised LOL

Aly & Jacoby both could benefit from a voice coach – both are impossible to hear/understand. While they may not have chosen a public life necessarily, now that they are public figures they should get some public speak coaching.

Well, there’s no lack of personality with Mr. Jones and he can be very engaging. I admit he had me giggling with the ta-ta story.

Cha-cha should be in his wheelhouse (and samba or mambo). The rest I’m not so confident about. He is a *big* guy – long arms, long legs, and large hands. I think the frame and elegance needed for Quickstep and Waltz will be a real challenge and he might get stompy in Tango and Paso. Time will tell. I hope he’s got some inner refinement to draw on because footballers are a shoo-in through mid-season.

I love Karina and must admit still feel bad about last season, but am so excited to see what she and Jacoby have to show us this season. Football players tend to do well with the votes and Karina has always been my favorite female choreographer.

Definitely his best interview so far. If this is how he’s portrayed in their rehearsal packages, he has a shot of winning over the audience with his personality. Dancing-wise, I think he’ll be good at the hip-shaking latin dances. As Cidra mentioned, I’m not sure about the ballroom dances, I’ll be really curious to see if he can be elegant in ballroom.

Hmm, this interview got a little out of control with all the talk of taa-taa’s! lol I agree with comment #2. He may be finding this a little more difficult than he thought. Can’t wait to see them dance!
