DWTS 16 POLL: Who’s Your Favorite Couple & Who Will Win???
Now that all the couples have (officially) been announced and we’ve got 6 days to go before the premiere, it’s time to see where our couples stack up in terms of popularity and skill with our readers. You know the drill – the first poll is your FAVORITE couple (not necessarily which couple you think will win), and the second poll is the couple you think will win this season of DWTS (not necessarily your favorite). Vote away!
I guess my favorite is Lisa & Gleb, with Andy & Sharna, Jacoby & Karina, and Dorothy & Tristan as my backups. As for who I think will win? I originally said Aly – but I’m thinking Jacoby & Dorothy could play spoiler to that prediction 
I have a 4 way tie for favorite: Kellie & Derek, Zendaya & Val, Jacoby & Karina and Victor and Lindsay. Though I guess my overall favorite would be Zen & Val, so that’s who I voted for. As for winning, I’d say it’s between Aly and Jacoby, with Jacoby maybe winning.
It’s so hard to vote for just one. My faves are: Sharna and Andy, Kellie and Derek, Kym and Ingo, and Dorothy and Tristan. I’m in the middle with Gleb and Lisa, Wynonna and Tony, Zendaya and Val, Peta and Sean, and Jacoby and Karina. I’m not feeling DL and Cheryl, Victor and Lindsay, or Aly and Mark yet.
As for who will win: I think it’s going to be between Kellie and Derek or Zendaya and Val. I also think Dorothy and Tristan could be a contender.

agreed – too difficult to pick just one favorite, even only one pick to win. Dorothy & Tristan are heartfelt favorites (she just needs to get one performance under her belt for her confidence to grow), but I also am enamored with Andy & Sharna (love that he’s so serious, hope he can loosen up and enjoy the ride); Kellie & Derek (so excited Derek is, and I can see why!); Zendaya & Val (those long limbs look just lovely, love the vibe she has with Val);
early picks to win: I’m on board with you, Vogue – Kellie & Derek or Zendaya & Val are my early picks – subject to change, of course, and often. But I also think Dorothy might have have an outside chance if Tristan can push her (maybe that’s wishful thinking on my part), but she’s got beautiful lines, finishes her moves well (it seems to me) and I bet can learn choreo without too much of a hitch. Fingers crossed Tristan can bring out the dancer in her, now that he has – what I consider – a very capable partner. Now that the Ice Shows are over, I imagine there’s a new focus in training with these two.

@Vogue – I am on board with your top 4 picks of Andy and Sharna (biggest surprise of the season), Kellie and Derek, Kym and Ingo, and Dorothy and Tristan. In my world THEY would be in the semi-finals.
Poor Andy is not doing so well in the poll above. I hope he is at least able to stick around for a couple of weeks, in my opinion, I think this pairing is absolutely perfect together, Sharna is stunning.
I am surprised how well Sean is doing in the poll. Ugh!
For favorites, I went for Dorothy and Tristan, but I’m also loving Lisa and Gleb, Kellie and Derek, and Ingo and Kym.
I’m developing a soft spot for Andy and Sharna. Depending on how their partnership develops, I could like Zendaya and Val.
My WAG for who wins: Aly and Mark (based on presumed fan appeal combined with some dance potential. But I can also see Jacoby and Karina (if he can pretend to be more like Driver), Kellie and Derek (if she can catch fire), or Dorothy and Tristan (if she finds her dance mojo soon).
Funny you should say that about Sean, Sandy – I was thinking the same thing, to the point where I wonder if he’s simply benefitting from traffic due to his being announced as the 12th cast member today. Or maybe a big Bachelor fan tweeted out a link to this poll and told their fellow fans to spam it…who knows. I’m just skeptical that Sean is suddenly Mr. Popular, after 2 weeks of most of the people here going “meh” or “whatever”.
Hard picking only one but since I had to, Wynonna is definitely my favorite.
I chose Kellie and Derek to win but I was really tempted to pick Zendaya and Val. I think the only thing that puts Kellie over Zendaya for me is Kellie has a moving story about her life that many know and Zendaya is too young to have me relate to her. But I think dance-wise these two are going to be neck and neck. Val may be able to pull it out because I think Zendaya is going to be an excellent student but if the fanbase isn’t there then I don’t see how. We’ll see. Dorothy winning would be great. That would be such a feel good win all the way around.
@Courtney – Well it looks like Chris Harrison has proclaimed Sean the winner of DWTS already.
Here’s what he said in an interview this morning.
How do you feel about Sean doing “Dancing with the Stars?”
Harrison: I understand it from Sean’s perspective, but I got to be honest, I’m slightly disappointed. People are going to automatically think, “You are now a reality star and you are a fame whore,” which is sad because that’s not him. I wish him well and I think he’ll win the thing, I just wish he had shown the world that he did The Bachelor for all the right reasons and he’s ready to go back to his life with Catherine. If something possibly goes wrong with Catherine, people will think that’s the reason. It opens himself up to stuff he didn’t need right now. But, again, I get it.
I really like a lot of the partnerships. Just can’t decide who to vote for as my very favorite but it would probably be either Kellie or Dorothy, but along with their 2 pros, Karina and Kym are also my favorite pros so I’m rooting for Jacoby and Ingo as well. Plus, I’m looking forward to seeing several of the others. I think Val and Zendaya could have some great dances, same with Mark and Aly. I’m looking forward to seeing what the new pros and their partners do.
As far as who I think will win, I think there are several who could win, (even Tony could win) perhaps Jacoby, Aly, Zendaya, maybe Dorothy or Kellie.

Like so many have said, it’s hard to pick just one favorite. Right now, my favorites are Kellie & Derek (got my vote in the poll), Andy & Sharna, and Ingo and Kym.
Top of the middle of the pack: Dorothy & Tristan (she’s so sweet, but not *quite* to favorite status – I think either a little more confidence or seeing some great dancing could put her there), Zendaya & Val, Victor & Lindsay, and Aly & Mark (I guess – not entirely feeling them yet, but I liked her during the Olympics).
Bottom of the middle: Jacoby & Karina (it depends on what attitude we get with him), Lisa & Gleb
Bottom: Wynonna & Tony (just not feeling them) and Sean & Peta
Bottom bottom: DL & Cheryl
As far as who will win – I voted for Kellie & Derek, but I think Jacoby, Zendaya, Dorothy & Aly all also have a shot, depending on the dynamics of the season.
I’m hoping that although Andy is doing very poorly in the polls, he is the second or third favorite of enough people to stick around awhile.
Surprisingly, although I voted for Lisa and Gleb mainly because of Gleb, I don’t have a true favorite yet. I like that there’s no clear frontrunner and look forward to seeing them all dance.
Watching Kellie do a few toe points, so far, isn’t enough to convince me that Derek won’t have to pull a “Maria” this season.
I didn’t see much from Zendaya or Ally either. Seems like ABC is leaving it to our imaginations until the big night.
I wish Andy well. It seems like he’s working hard to turn things around. This could be a blessing for him. I think Sharna is the perfect partner for him.
I like Dorothy and Tristan, Kellie and Derek, and Ingo and Kym. I love Karina, i hope I’ll like Jacoby as well

they are delightful both lovely people and gorgeous too and he looks from what little i have seen like he may be good or at least have potential:) whilst i am glad Peta is back i can’t say i’m overly interested in another reality show person however until ive seen them dance a latin and standard then i’ll sit on the fence

My favourites are Zendaya and Val.
As for the winner…I voted for Jacoby and Karina because he’ll have that recent Super Bowl fanbase that football players have. But I think Kellie and Derek are real competition – she’s likeable, they’re so fun together, and I see Derek getting loads more votes this season – since social networking still seems to suggest they were angry with last season’s results!
Aly’s fan votes could be interesting, among the gymternet, a lot of her fans seem to want her to get the boot early so she gets back to training.
I’m not sure the really hard-core gynmastics fans will be all that significant in deciding how long Aly stays on the show.
Olympians on DWTS seem to have a much broader appeal than just their sport-specific fans. Most of Joe and Jane America plunks down on the sofa every 4 years to watch Team USA in the Olympics. I imagine there will be lots of regular DWTS viewers who are still basking in the glow of the Fierce Five’s success and will support Aly.
I picked Tristan and Dorothy since we can only vote for one fav, but Victor & Lindsey and Kellie & Derek are right there too. Have to say I voted on Derek & Kellie for the win. You never know how it will play out though, I really hope everyone surprises us. Can’t wait!
Like Dorothy and Kellie, but fe Aly has a sizable fan base. The fierce five are popular. Fan base wise, feel she is most likely to a win. Here is hoping it is not a predictable win. Especially after the talented Shawn lost last season.

I liked Kellie Pickler from her AI days and I’m a HUGE Derek fan as well so they got my vote for fave couple. I think Jacoby Jones might be able to pull out the win though given that the Ravens just won the Superbowl. I’m not counting out Kellie and Derek though. Last seasons All Stars left a huge distaste in my mouth. If you look at the Shawn/Derek videos on YouTube, the views FAR exceed toe views of Melissa/Tony videos. Lots of comments on Shawn’s videos that they were robbed and why didn’t they win. But I digress.

Well, KellyK, one of two things will happen. Either fans will vote like crazy cuz they are pissed over last season, or they say “fuck it” and never vote on the show again. I doubt there will be too many in the middle. And, as always, it’s not how well you dance, but how well your competition dances and how popular they are. And if they work for the ABC family….like Zendaya. Or if they are managed by the Casting Director…like Tony.

re#15 – If you want to see Kellie do something besides point her toes, check out the media that PH has on PDH – she’s looking *quite* good.
I’m sad to say that I think the best we can hope for Kellie is to make it to the finals, as Heidi stated after last season, Derek is extremely unlikely to ever win again, (I think she said more straight up, he will never win again). Assuming she ends up becoming a fantastic dancer and Derek per usual creates some amazing dances for them, and given how likable she seems to be, maybe they could win IF the finals end up being Kellie, Jacoby, and Aly. Maybe there will be cancelling out backlashes, ie, people who don’t want Derek to win again, people who don’t want another NFL player to win again, and people who don’t want Mark to win again with yet another Olympian. If someone else, maybe Dorothy, or even Zendaya, Sean, Ingo…makes it to the finals against 2 of the above 3, it seems to me they would have a good chance of winning as a supposed underdog. Not saying those wins wouldn’t be deserved, just saying I don’t think Kellie has an easy road to the mirror ball even IF she’s ends up being the best dancer. I guess it surprises me that she’s way ahead in this poll.
Jess, you’re being overly optimistic.
The audience has been brainwashed to the extent that I doubt they remember that Mark ever won before (let alone with two Olympians) or that Karina won just a couple seasons ago. They can’t distinguish that if Mark wins then HE will have 3 trophies – hell, I bet they don’t even remember that NEXT season. Perhaps that’s a testament to Derek’s ability and talent. And maybe people are just stupid. 
We see it here in the comments all the time with stupid comments like “someone else should win” – completely forgetting that Derek hasn’t won since season 11, and that we’ve had NEW winners the last four seasons. It’s asinine.
Combine that with fans of ALL the other pros determined to not let Derek win again and I call it a near impossibility for Derek and Kellie to win. The only way that happens is if the general audience gets off it’s backside and votes.
I did say he will never win again. And if it weren’t for how much I am LOVING him with Kellie I would still say that. Now I have to leave a 3% chance of a win in there.
I think Derek&Kellie have a very decent shot at winning this thing. Of course there’s also Jacoby, Aly, Dorothy… but if Kellie is really as good as it seems, she might take it.
@Heidi – And if D.L. or Ingo ends up being some sort of revelation this season (I doubt it, but you never know), you can bet your buns that the audience will conveniently forget that Cheryl & Kym have both won twice before, too – and that another win would tie them with evil Derek, who has *gasp!* an abominable 3 MBT’s. What a greedy bastard, he should let someone else have a turn. How dare he turn another partner into a good dancer! (That was sarcasm, just in case some of you didn’t pick it up.)
It’s times like these that I really fear living in a world full of people who were never punished as kids, and where everyone gets a trophy just for participating.
I’m *really*, *really* hoping that Kellie has a shot at winning, between those who liked her and voted for her on Idol, and the country fans she’s picked up since then, and those (like me) who are getting to know her now and find her charming, and Derek’s fans. If a lot of country music fans watch for Wynonna, and she leaves – say midway – possibly some of those folks will also vote for Kellie as well. I don’t know. I hate to think that there are enough people that are “anti-Derek” to keep his partners from having a chance.
Everything I read about how the audience has turned against Derek makes me feel like a horrible person for having those “someone else should” win thoughts.
I think Kellie can make SemiFinals easy, if not the finals themselves. That’s just me though.
Tony, I’m not so worried about them making it to semi or final if they turn out the kind of dances I think they will and she’s as likable as I think she is, I just think that instead of a great asset if a celeb wants to *win*, very sadly, now having him is perhaps a liability to a large portion of the general audience so that when they’re down to 3 all kinds of supporters of pairs no longer there will gather around someone other than Derek. Now if they just want to have fun, learn to dance and trust that their pro is going to make them look beautiful, he’s still a huge asset. IMO
It’s not so much that they are “anti-Derek” it’s that they just think that he wins too much – yes, only one more time than Mark, Cheryl and Kym is too much. In the next breath they will say he’s the best choreographer on the show. So it’s clear that they have the pee wee baseball mentality. Everyone gets to win, whether they deserve it or not.
It’s moronic. And worthy of derision.

There were only 2 seasons that I was 100% confident on premiere night who would take home that MBT at the end of the season.

I think Derek’s partnership with Kellie will probably get them to the finals. Heck, they may even nab a few votes out of me this season. I love Kellie.
Mine were Kristi, Shawn and Donnny. Look, Mark won twice with those two!
The only times that my favorites won were Drew, Kelly, Shawn, JR, and Melissa.
Saying that, my favorite this season is Ingo and Kym but Dorothy and Tristan are a close second. Who I think is going to win is still up in the air for me. They all seem like they are in it to win it (except D.L. but to be perfectly honest I was excited when they said he was part of the cast and partnered with Cheryl but from what I have seen doesn’t seem to have “the eye of the tiger”.

On that note, i just got a legit email about tickets to the premiere show and the next wees show as awell, since Im out of state i cant go, do any of you who are in the area want to go, let me know. Voted for Zendaya and Val, but as for who can win……gotta wait til the first episode, at least 1 person always seems to surprise me.
I don’t know if it’s already been posted, but from the sounds of their Cha Cha sneak peak, Kellie and Derek are dancing to “domino” by Jessie J. They look great and I’m really digging their dynamic. Should be a fun routine!

I still shake my head at people who admit they voted against Derek because “he won 3 times already and someone else deserves a shot” or the Markettes who are so jealous of Derek they wouldn’t even voted for Shawn who was originally Mark’s partner and even danced with him in the fusion and trio routines. Nope, no votes AND they think Derek isn’t a good “bro” towards Mark…..like they know their every move and conversation lol.
Hmm I have a feeling Cheryl is going to take D.L. to at least the 4th week. She’s a good teacher, probably the best pro. She knows the ins and outs of the show so she’ll have the upper hand over the new pros with weak celeb dance partners like Sharna with Andy and Gleb with Lisa. From watching Cheryl and D.L. latest interview it looks like their having fun in practice, and from twitter seems to be having good partnership going. So it’ll be interesting to see how she’ll do with a comedian.
Actually Zun, I am looking forward to the new pros this season, there were a few namely (2) of the seasoned pros that were in desperate need of a break, Maks was one of them and he was given his much needed break…. And as for Cheryl… Same old, same old, tired choreography and pro.
I don’t see any real pizazz in DL, but we shall see on Monday night, won’t we.
LOL Sheery – pretty sure it’s the reverse. Derek is a great bro (cuz he’s used to being one) totally not sure the reverse is true. And I’ve “heard” that it’s not true. But, whatever. So what? My big concern was that Derek was doing what Mark wanted to do and deferring to him way too much. I’m just glad he’s broken free and is doing his own thing. If that means he’s not a good “bro” to Mark in Mark’s fans eyes – fine. I don’t think it’s possible for me to care less about that.
Sandy. I want the new pros to stick around a bit too, but that could be tough since they don’t have obvious contenders. Will Andy be able to convince the general viewer to vote for him? Are Victor and Lisa’s fans loyal enough to follow them to a dance show and vote?
While I disagree with Zun that Cheryl is the “best pro”, I agree she’s figured out exactly what buttons to press with the judges and viewers to get maximum bang out of minimum effort and slide from week to week. So I can see her taking out some of the new pros. Hope it doesn’t happen, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

I love Andy so the majority of my votes will be going to him, I want him to stick around over some of the others.
Guess what, Steve-the-pompous-and-all-knowing? We don’t much care what you find to be unworthy or what you think we should or shouldn’t talk about. In even responding to my off hand comment about what *mark’s fans think* you are doing what you don’t like. Worst of all, you are lecturing me on my own site. I don’t appreciate that.
As for their relationship – like I would have told Mark the other night on Twitter if I wasn’t is a “let’s all have fun with Mark” frame of mind, I don’t give two shits. Mark thinks I should love him because he and Derek are tight (right now – as a human these things are in flux all the time, even for them) – it doesn’t work that way. And, coincidentally, MARK is the one that was bringing up their relationship as some sort of chip. Ya can’t have it both ways, sweetheart. If ya don’t want me talking about Mark’s relationship with Derek, the perhaps you should tell Mark not to use it as some sort of point in his favor. Was he joking? Hard to say. But he did put it out there. I think not joking, since the boy is way too quick to listen to trolls.
I don’t drink the “pros are special and we should never say anything bad about them ever” koolaide (like some little twit suggested I do on twitter the other day) and, that includes Derek as many Derek fans would be quick to tell you. I know this is off topic but the latest news states that Julianne Hough and Ryan Seacrest have split after two years.
I voted for Dorothy and Tristan in both Maybe it’s wishful thinking but I was worried at first but now she seems real comfortable and ready to take on the kids. The last pic of Tristan doing an upside down life and her smiling gives me a lot of confidence for them. If she has a Marie Osmond sized fan base she could’ve a threat
I think the top 3 will be Derek, Karina, and Kym. Ingo will have the
General Hospital fan base like Kelly did last season.
Intresting, I’ve been checking the poll results on and off, and I think the Ravens fans found the “who’s your favorite” poll. There seems to have been a recent spike in the number of votes for Jacoby and Karina. They’ve been 2nd for a long time, but now they’re running a close 2nd to Kellie and Derek.
Wonder why the same hasn’t happened in the “who do you think will win” poll? I would have expected a similar spike if the Ravens fans were here. Maybe it’s because you have to click the read more link to get to the win poll. However, it could just be that folks have picked their favorite, but they feel it’s too early to pick a winner.

I am really weary of Zendaya already .The kid can dance, but she bores me. Her and Val looked like two people who could dance, but separatel. I don’t wish to see Disney kids on an adult show
