DWTS Season 16 – FIRST Rehearsal Videos!!
Ya’ll (yes, just watched Kellie) are going to have to put up with me occasionally today as I believe Vogue might still be having computer issues. Or internet issue. The end result is the same. I apologize that I do not have time to watch and comment on all the videos, so I won’t add any commentary and I’ll leave that to you all in the comments. I did watch Kellie and am suitably impressed.

We already know who my favs are but Kellie and Derek are becoming one of those. She is an absolutely threat. She is so funny and cute with that accent. But DAMN…. in the rehearsals she has got Derek ( superstar) and those legs are hyper extended which make for great lines. But her arch in her feet OMG… TO DIE FOR!!!!!
I’m totally voting for them.
Aly and Mark also I love aly ever since her floor routine she is beautiful and I think her personality is starting to shine and she is gonna be great I can feel it. Will vote for them too.
Judging from the clips, they best looking ones right now (imo) are definitely Kellie, Zendaya and Ingo. The rest didn’t really surprise me. I was hoping to see Lisa more relaxed but she seemed a bit stiff :\ And Aly is not impressing me with her moves. At least her personality is starting to come out a little more but the little bit of dancing from the clip didn’t impress me much, but i’ll wait to see what else she’s got. And Dorothy (who I really wanna see in the finals!!) didn’t look too comfortable in her clip, but I’m sure she’s got more to show, just like Aly. Everyone else? Umm… not a fan.. I would’ve loved to see Jacoby’s rehearsal but because he started late, I’m guessing they don’t have it.
Grr! I wanna see them all dance already! C’mon Monday! Hurry up!!
I dunno, CC. I wasn’t terribly impressed with Ingo, but he was better than expected. I also wasn’t impressed with Aly – but that could totally be the result of expecting so much more. And that will be her cross to bear this season, unfortunately. Kellie looked really good (and I think her’s is one of the few from ONE rehearsal and it had to be very early since it was done in LA and not Nashville. I also was surprised by Andy – not only do I LIKE him (shocker) but he doesn’t totally suck. At all. Dorothy can be good if she can let go.
I guess the best looking ones right now are Kellie, Zendaya, Aly, and Ingo.
I really want Ingo to be good, and I’ve been rather nervous because of some awkward looking photos. But seeing Kym so excited she thinks he’ll be good that she couldn’t refrain from doing a happy dance not just once but TWICE in their clip makes me very happy. That excited me more than the actual dancing he did!
Yeah like you said, he was better than I expected. And if he keeps that up, he could potentially be a front runner. I did forget to mention Andy! He did look pretty damn good! And his partnering with Sharna is just TOO good. Those two are gonna be the ones to watch for sure! I do agree that I think that is because I (and I think lots of other people) was expecting Aly to be super good, that her rehearsal didn’t stand out as much. I’m sure she can surprise us though. I see her doing a lot better in the ballroom dances (same for Dorothy)
I know it is WAY too early but I’m already wrapping up my favorites and the ones I want to see in the finals
I enjoyed all of the clips. It was a mix of people who looked really good and people who looked to be really funny.
People who looked Really good
kellie – fantastic leg extension, and when derek looks excited the first rehearsal…
Aly- her dancing was good (not super impressive though). I was more impressed with her personality and how loose she was
zendaya- she has limbs for days!! it’s either going to be her biggest asset or biggest problem
people who looked good to okay
Ingo – he looked alright, but he still gave me some stiff vibes. im banking on kyms excitement to mean something
dorothy – i wanted her to be really good, but she just looked okay. hopefully once she relaxes she’ll look great
people who looked surprisingly decent
andy – he was much more graceful than i expected, and didnt seem to be dancing half bad
victor- he had much better posture than any other boxer thats been on this show before sans laila
people who looked not so impressive
lisa – not super graceful, but hilarious
wynonna- i was expecting horrible, and thankfully she wasnt, but still not super impressive
D.L- aside from his hip wiggling didnt see much to impressed by, but hopefully he has some groove hidden
overall im excited to see everyone dance, and see how they improve upon their first rehearsal

sasa, that sucks! I presume it’s a country-block issue? I’ve been there for non-US stuff. It’s really annoying.
Thanks, PH for subbing for Mme. Vogue! I loved all the vids for one reason or another. Right now, I really like this cast. Hope it stays that way.
Kellie: oh yeah, can’t wait to see more.
Zendaya: looks great, sassy personality, but I’m still concerned about her and Val’s comparative height.
Aly: promising; hints of personality, hope she doesn’t leave the personality in the rehearsal studio.
Ingo: not bad, but not as impressed as Kym; he moves alright but arms and hands need shaping.
Dorothy: the ability seems to be all locked up inside. C’mon girl, let yourself go and you can do this.
Victor: good posture, but he didn’t seem to understand what Lindsay was asking him to do (teacher/student communication needs to improve).
Lisa: if she can let her body relax, she might be decent. I’ve become Giggy’s newest fan.
Andy: he was moving better than I thought he would.
Wynonna: her body actually moves relatively well until her mind tries to seize control.
DL: some funny one-liners, but not much dancing.
I love watching these videos.
Kellie – looks the best overall so far, to me, combo of dance ability and personality.
Zendaya – I think she moves beautifully which I expected her to but am happy I like her personality so far, as young as she is. I was afraid she might be an annoying Disney teenager but I didn’t see that in this clip. I think Val will get her far.
Dorothy – So likable and although she seemed nervous and stiff, I think she’ll loosen up and be amazing.
Andy – This is the Andy persona I like when he’s funny and humble and I like Sharna so far when i didn’t think much of her before. I’m just worried about what looks like Andy’s pigeon toes.
Wynonna – great personality with star and pro and she was doing the steps well towards the end.
Lisa – More goofing around than dance but I think she has the ability. Lisa and Gleb’s personalities go well together and I can’t wait to see more of him on his first season in the U.S.
Ingo – I’m a little worried about his stiffness and pancake hands. but I think if Kym can loosen him up and get him to relax, he can do really well, imo.
Victor – He and Lindsay don’t do anything for me. They both seem very sweet but it looks like she doesn’t know how to teach because he’s not understanding what she wants him to do. That’s not good.
Aly – Not impressed by any of her moves but she seemed less monotonous then she has been personality wise. But she’s just not memorable to me.
D.L. – I’m liking him even less. I didn’t think he moved well and don’t care for his personality at all.
Jacoby – no dance package but he did come across more humble in the most recent interview clip. Me thinks a little birdie got to him. Thank goodness. I’m hopeful he’ll take it seriously and ballroom his buns off.
Sean – no dance package but he still bores me to sleep from his interviews. Not to mention there’s no reason for him, a non-star fame wh*re, to go directly from The Bachelor reality show immediately into DWTS. Look at em, look at me, look at me…….For what Sean, you don’t do anything. And he has Peta, bummer. It’s between Sean and D.L., for me, of the first to go with the other in hot pursuit.
Peter & sasa, there’s unfortunately not much we can do about the rehearsal videos not being available outside of the US – and I think ABC gets a bit ouchy when users try to download & repost their content. Maybe give it a few days and see if it’s made available to those overseas? Sorry guys

I’m not impressed much with DL rehearsal footage – there’s just something about him I can’t quite warm up to. Didn’t think his “let me get my credit card” comment funny at all. Yeah, that might be how you turn a hoho, you idiot. JMHO.
Gotta say. Overall, I’m impressed so far
At the very least, all of them seem to be good, decent, or have some potential. DL, however, just seems flat out awkward to me, and I’m not quite sure if he’ll take it seriously. We’ll see. I am giving Andy a chance (and man, I am impressed so far) so I will give him one too.
Lisa & Gleb- She seems really funny and I like them. She does seem stiff, though. Hopefully that’s something that goes away with time.
Victor & Lindsay- Hm, I really like their partnership and the two of them individually so far. But I can’t say I got a really good idea based on what I saw. I do agree with what someone said above though, I think the communication might need some work. Lindsay seemed to struggle getting him to do what she wanted and I think he kind of got confused by what she was saying. But hopefully their rehearsals aren’t always like that and they give us some good stuff.
Aly & Mark- I REALLY like Aly. Didn’t expect to see so much personality so soon. She seems sweet, hard-working, and bubbly. I think she will be pretty good too. Probably a very athletic, “thick” mover. Does that make sense? But anyways, I really like them.
Dorothy & Tristan- I think Dorothy could be pretty darn good if she just relaxes and has fun. She seems to move pretty well and hits some decent lines. Hope she just learns to dance for fun and enjoy herself. That alone will really help her I think.
Ingo & Kym- I was pleasantly surprised. Some of their photos have looked really awkward, and he actually seems to be moving decently at this point. I think he’ll need some work, but I think he could have some nice talent in there. Love seeing Kym again
I think she’ll do good things with him.
DL & Cheryl- “Meh” is the best word I can use to describe my feelings towards him. We’ll see how Cheryl deals with him.
Zendaya & Val- Zendaya is looking awesome! Gorgeous legs, she has natural movement ability, and her experiences with Shake It Up and other dancing will help her pick up choreography really quickly. Excited for these two
Wynonna & Tony- Haha, Wynonna makes me laugh
Another enjoyable couple. Again, if she relaxes and just lets it happen, she could be pretty decent at least. Not too bad.
Kellie & Derek- Another WOW right here
Fantastic legs and lines. And they made me smile throughout the video. Definitely my first impression favorite.
Andy & Sharna- Andy has really impressed me so far. I really appreciate and love the fact he REALLY seems to be trying and working hard. He seems very attentive, friendly, and hard-working. Hope that continues, because I’m loving these two so far. He actually seems to be doing fairly well too! I think we could see some really good things here.
My early favorites: Kellie, Zendaya, Andy, Aly, Ingo. I really like everyone else too…except DL. Not trying to nitpick…but that guy doesn’t sit that well with me for some reason.
Yeah, I’m with you Will – D.L. just kinda left a bad taste in my mouth…like he isn’t really taking this seriously, and actually thinks it’s kind of silly. Surprisingly, I also got a bit of a cold, standoffish vibe from Wynonna – maybe she was just really nervous or really focused, but the feeling I got from her wasn’t exactly warm & likeable.
Also surprising – I think both Kellie & Dorothy look better than Aly (even though we didn’t see a lot of dancing from Aly), and I’d probably say Zendaya looks better too, but it’s just hard for me to judge when they’re doing a lot of contemporary moves. Lisa does look stiff, but I think she’ll loosen up. LOVE Gleb’s accent – very soft
Victor, Andy, & Ingo all seem like they’re really eager to do well, although none of them seems to have a ton of natural talent – not to say that they couldn’t be good with some hard work.
Kellie’s legs look great, but I think Zendaya may give her a run for her money with that footwork.
Random: anyone catch Gleb saying that he had only gotten the call to do DWTS 3 days prior to meeting Lisa? Kinda lends creedence to our theory that he was a last-minute add. Also random: seems like Lindsay’s doing her makeup a bit differently than when she was on SYTYCD, and it’s giving her a more mature look. It’s nice
Wowza, Kellie looks amazing!! I think she even shocked Derek with those movements/extensions.-lol What a pleasant surprise.. Go Kellie!!
Nice to see Aly smiling and having good time.
This is going to be a tough season.

It sucks but reading all of the comments I kind of get the picture. Or should I say: video.
Oh my gosh. I’m loving Kellie & Derek’s chemistry. Definitely one of my favorites!! Even if it’s just a few simple movements, Kellie’s looking like she’s definitely got some natural talent. And Derek will work wonders with her.
Zendaya… dayuummm! That girl is so tall. I am a bit worried about her lanky limbs, but I think Val can hone in on that and really turn her into a technical dancer. I also think my worries about their chemistry are beginning to fade because Val I think is taking more of a teacher approach with Zendaya, unlike he did with Kelly.
I actually was smiling all the way through Aly’s video. I wish she would let that personality shine a little more! I wasn’t too impressed either, but I think a lot of what she was doing in the video was for the very first time. I think she’ll be better by Monday (obviously).
I think Victor and Lindsay have some good chemistry too, and I think their communication can only get better. It’s very obvious that Lindsay doesn’t have a lot of experience teaching, if she has any at all. Victor might not be the most gifted, but I think he could still have a shot. Maybe.
Lisa could have a shot at impressing me. Maybe. But Gleb is officially a new man crush. Just have to get that out there. Lisa doesn’t look horrible, but she’s obviously got a lot of work ahead of her.
Those are the only one’s I’ve had time to look at, but I do think this season might have some promise. Except for the cloud that is Contemporary hanging over everyone’s head.
I usually have pretty good luck on you-tube when i’m looking for clips of Strictly Come Dancing (SCD) and The Voice from the UK. you have to search a good bit sometimes – but I’ve had fairly decent luck.
Does anyone know why there are these territorial restrictions? I would think DWTS would be thrilled to have fans all over the world (and I can’t imagine that SCD, for instance, suffers any from having American fans), and while I could understand a day or two delay in releasing video for worldwide viewing, I would think any show would welcome the interest, regardless from which country. I’ve had good luck finding video of dances on SCD on you-tube, but never a full show, and rarely a clip with judges comments. And like I said, it takes a sleepless night, a bottle of wine and hours to kill to do the searching to find even one clip with pre-dance package & judges comments.
@Linde: Really? It normally doesn’t have to take me hours. Haha! I guess I’m a bit luckier than you are! But yes, it does take a bit of searching to find the package, comments and scores. I will give you that.
@Tony – I’m sure luck plays a part, but I bet you’re more savvy with these kind of things: I’m a bit of a techno dinosaur LOL
Sasa, I put one (Kellie and Derek) that you should be able to see on Purederekhough.com – sorry, I only have time to do the one, but I bet if you search youtube you will find that other fan groups have uploaded their own versions.
I only watched Kellie, Lisa, Andy, and Victor but here are my thoughts on them:
Kellie and Derek – Kellie is actually better than I expected her to be. Derek is still hot.
Lisa and Gleb – She not the best dancer, but she could improve. I already like Gleb.
Andy and Sharna – Didn’t he get arrested for breaking and entering? He seemed like a nice guy here. I’m impressed by Sharna’s teaching skills.
Victor and Lindsay – He is trying, but there is room for improvement. Lindsay is lacking in the teaching area, but I’m happy that she is acting mature and not like a crazy teenager.
So, I’m echoing the “WOW” for Kellie – I’m pretty sure that *is* just her first rehearsal (same clothes all the way through, and Derek is wearing the shirt he met her in), and if she’s looking that good on day one, I see why Derek is excited. Definitely the best of the bunch.
Zendaya’s also looking pretty good.
Ingo is better than I was thinking, given some of the stills that we’ve seen. And if Kym is so excited, I think there has to be some potential there.
Andy is also looking better than I expected, and I’m liking Sharna’s attention to technique as well as the choreo, etc.
Dorothy is (as many have said) a bit stiff. I think if she loosens up, it will get better.
Aly was okay – nothing impressive, but I think there’s potential there. Nice to see some of her personality.
Victor also not bad – I think if they can get the communication worked, he’s got a shot of lasting awhile.
Lisa also looked rather stiff, but she has some nice lines (and Gleb’s not bad to look at either
).
Wynonna’s a a bit stiff too, and I’m not feeling them.
DL – can he just leave? Not impressed.
Looking forward to when the post videos for Jacoby and Sean. Peta said in the interview that was recently posted that they’ve been rehearsing a week, so hopefully we’ll be getting some footage soon.
@sasa – PH is right. I just watched a few on youtube. (dolasco’s channel for example)

I’ve checked out almost all of them. Kellie is looking fantastic. In terms of ability she and Zendaya take the front spots for now (Jacoby?). As much as Zendaya has a lot of potential I’m still a bit skeptical because of her age.
I’m loving Andy&Sharna, she seems like a good and patient teacher, which is just what he needs. They could actually (hopefully) be good!
Aly didn’t show much to judge her on, but I’m really liking her fun loving attitude.
I’m more afraid for Dorothy than for Aly, I get the sense she might be too embarrassed to let loose. I hope I’m wrong.
I expect Ingo to be at least very solid. Nice to see Kym so genuinely excited, she hasn’t lost her spark for the show at all.
The rest I either didn’t watch or wasn’t too impressed by.
