Their first dance is the Cha Cha. More below. She’s got a cute personality…

DWTS Season 16 – TWO New Dance Styles

It’s official. From the ABC Medianet press release:

“Episode 1601” — “Dancing with the Stars” is back with an all-new cast of fresh faces hitting the dance floor. This season features two new dance styles, contemporary and jazz; three new professional dance partners — Lindsay Arnold, Sharna Burgess & Gleb Savchenko; and notable theme shows. In May, “Dancing with the Stars” will commemorate their 300th episode with a spectacular celebration. The competition begins with the two-hour Season 16 premiere, live, MONDAY, MARCH 18 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show” premieres in week two, with the first elimination on Tuesday, March 26.

Click the link to read the whole press release. I didn’t see anything else that was interesting or different, except maybe a new App.

Anyway, I can’t even begin to express how stupid I think this idea is. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the ballroom styles we had and if we lose Argentine Tango or Paso in order to have freakin’ Jazz, I will be pissed. It was bad enough last season when you had people who had been on the show before and you wanted to challenge them, but this is crap. The judges have a hard enough time judging Ballroom fairly, how are they going to manage dance styles they know nothing about?? At least Bruno and CAI might have a clue about Contemporary, but Len?? No. And most of the pros have little to no experience in and have never been trained in either Jazz or Contemporary. This might give Derek, Mark, and Lindsay a leg up on some of the other pros, but man…I don’t care about contemporary. This is a fail in my book.

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

Victor Ortiz Talks Of His Chemistry And More With DWTS Partner Lindsay Arnold

Victor Ortiz tells XFinity he’s not a dancer, but, he and Lindsay have great “communication” which he thinks is important. Read why below as well as why he decided to do Dancing With The Stars and his past dancing experience. He also talks of their “chemistry”.

Why did you sign on for “DWTS”?
I decided to do the show because it’s a different way of competing. I have a great partner in front of me, Lindsay, and with her help, I’m sure we’re going to be just fine.

Have you danced before?
My previous experience with dance was about three seconds before I met Lindsay. Well, I do dance a little bit but it’s not her style of dancing. Lindsay’s style of dancing is professional. Mine is just like [freestyle], “Hey, what’s up? We’re going to have a good time!”

How’s your chemistry with Lindsay?
Lindsay and I are having a great time. I mean, her personality speaks volumes; it’s awesome. I wouldn’t have changed it because from the moment we met, ‘til now, we talk so much, we communicate, and communication is very important, especially because I’m not a dancer and she’s trying to get through to me.

More at XFinity.

I’ll never forget how he came out shaking it and all smiles during the Dancing With The Stars cast announcement. He was like a ray of light! Is it possible this team could take us places? We will soon see. 🙂

Wynonna Judd Talks Of Husband’s Accident, Emotional Journey, Dancing With The Stars, and More

If interested, be sure to pick up a copy of US Weekly this week. Inside the new issue (and gracing a spot on the cover), Wynonna Judd and her husband, Cactus Moser, talk about his recent motorcycle accident, how he lost his leg, and what they’ve sent through emotionally. Here is a take….

“I remember standing over Cactus, wondering whether he was alive or not,” Judd recalls in the new issue of Us Weekly. “I kept saying to myself, ‘Be calm, be calm.’ When I realized he was still alive, I noticed the leg was gone. I saw remnants of it, um, all over the highway. I just stood there, trying to make sense of it all.”

I can’t imagine what that had to be like? 🙁 Wynonna also talks of Dancing With The Stars in the new issue and how she’s preparing for it. More at US Weekly.

Stay tuned for an update to this post. We hope to have some video coverage soon of Wynonna and Tony on GMA this morning.

UPDATE: You can watch Tony and Wynonna on GMA HERE. Check out how she is very SORE!!!

Media Roundup Sean Lowe Talks on Rehearsals, Challenges, And Goals For Dancing With The Stars

We have more media for Sean Lowe and Peta Murgatroyd. Below is Sean on Access Hollywood last night. He talks of rehearsing in seclusion with Peta for several weeks. He says he plans to show a lot of skin on the show this season. His future Bachelor wife, Catherine Guidici, plans to be sitting in the front row every night (are these two in real love? I can’t decide?). You’ll also get to see him and Peta taking pics for their Title shoot….

Sean and his future wife were also on E News last night. Sean talks of why he decided to do Dancing With The Stars. He did it because he likes to embrace challenges. He says don’t count he and Peta out of this competition. They have been rehearsing like everyone else these last few weeks and are driven and working hard. He’s not a natural dancer, but, he’s having fun learning all the new dances. You can watch this interview HERE.

Sean and Catherine were also on Entertainment Tonight. He talks of what a relief it is to have the secret out of him dancing. He is going to try his hardest to win Dancing With The Stars. He is the most worried on Jacoby being his biggest competition.

What do you think Guys? Is he going to be one of your favorites?

Watch this spot. If more media comes out on these two today, we’ll post it here. Lots on tap today. Stay tuned! 😉 xx

ADDING: Here is more wtih TV Guide. Be sure to read the article at the link too. Peta talks of how she expects them to reach the finals, how they’ve created their own dance called the “Murgalowe”, and more.
