DWTS16 Andy Dick And Sharna Burgess Interviewed About Dancing And Rehearsing
Andy Dick tells the ladies at The View that now is the right time to dance. It wasn’t the right time before because they didn’t call it “Drinking With The Stars” or “Dancing With The Drunks” when they first asked him to dance. If they did, he would have won. LOL But, Andy is serious about being in a good place now. Sharna was in the audience and she confirms how ready Andy is to dance. They also show some past footage of him tap dancing which he makes fun of (hey, he’s pretty quick!). More in the video below and great interview again, but, why did they have Sharna sitting in the audience? She should have been sitting with the group too.
Below is Sharna and Dick talking wtih TV Guide as well. I love how much heart they have. Dick says this show has been the most rehabilitating for him of everything. You can also read more on the three new Pros including Sharna at the link of the video.

I think that if Andy has some dance talent, he might be a dark horse, because he has a *great* story, and the person he’s showing himself to be in these interviews is funny, charming and really endearing. So if he makes through the first couple of weeks so that America can get to know him, I think he might last awhile.
Butterfly, I really hope you’re right and I’m dead wrong because I want Andy to have a chance to change people’s minds. There’s just this cynical part of me that says the average viewer is going to bring their preconceived notions to the sofa and not have the wit to recognize that the Andy they’re seeing on the show is not the messed up human being they’ve heard stories about. So many people today are just lazy. They don’t want the bother of actually thinking for themselves when it’s so much easier to just believe what the media tells them.
Well, there’s that. But look at how long Steve-O and Jerry Springer lasted. I know it’s been awhile since season three, but Jerry was in the top 5 (I think).
We all know what to do.. Vote for your favorites if you want them to stay. That’s all we can do.
Cidra – i’m of an age where being cynical is just par for the course. However, I’m thinking (hoping) that Andy’s shenanigans are far enough in the past that most people will not have that in the forefront of their thinking. Andy & Sharna have been very clever thus far – he’s in the media more than anyone it seems (OK, admittedly I’m not a media hound so this is not the voice of authority) and his story is one that a lot of people can relate to – someone who’s stumbled in life but has the wherewithall to make a recovery. I find Andy extremely endearing because he’s just so human. He easily admits that there are a lot of reasons that his fans might abandon him; he’s straightforward about his less than stellar past and about his struggles with rehab; I believe that Sharna truly gets him and that there’s a lot of charm with this pairing. I was one of those of initially made a face when I heard his name announced, but he has totally won me over. And, from what I’ve seen here, he might have enough ability to stick around for a number of weeks. I’m a strong believer that everyone deserves a second chance, and Andy has shown that he has made the most of his. I can see him making it to the top half. Everyone likes to root for the likable underdog!
I also think Andy might stick for a while longer than expected. If he doesn’t suck at dancing that is.
That’s a well-reasoned argument, Linde. Andy and Sharna are a very charming couple (in a meaningful rather than superficial way). And as you say people do like to root for the likable underdog.
