New Dancing With The Stars Season 16 Las Vegas Odds For Week 7
“I want to lift the audience to the miraculous in human nature. After all, we shouldn’t be here, with all the odds against us in nature. It’s kind of unusual and wonderful!” ~Ballet Choreographer Paul Taylor on beating the odds
It’s that time again!!! Sports Bovada has posted their new Odds for Dancing With The Stars going to week 7. Note how they’ve lowered Sean Lowe’s odds dramatically from the week(s) before and rightfully so. I think if Sean doesn’t show some vast improvement this coming Monday night, he could find himself eliminated? They have also listed Andy Dick at the bottom. I think they underestimate Andy’s entertainment factor. As in previous weeks, I look forward to Andy just doing “his Jagger Moves thing” and proving the odds makers wrong again (Have I said? I love fighters like that! 🙂 ). I also think they should have put Kellie at the top this week.
Zendaya Coleman 1/1
Kellie Pickler 11/10
Jacoby Jones 7/1
Aly Raisman 12/1
Ingo Rademacher 75/1
Sean Lowe 75/1
Andy Dick 100/1
Here are last week’s Las Vegas Odds to compare.
Zendaya Coleman 11/10
Kellie Pickler 2/1
Jacoby Jones 13/4
Aly Raisman 15/2
Sean Lowe 33/1
Ingo Rademacher 75/1
Andy Dick 150/1
Victor Ortiz 200/1
Let’s see what Miss Heidi and Court think and be sure to let us know what you think too in comments….
Courtney: If I were the oddsmakers, I’d stop banking on the power of the ABC “family” to pull Zendaya & Sean (and to a lesser degree, Ingo) through week after week. Sean in particular really kind of crashed & burned this week – he may have gotten a better score than Andy, but I really don’t think he did much better…and while Sean ended up in the bottom 2 with weekly cannon fodder Victor, Andy did not. Now while I don’t have any delusions about Andy winning this whole thing, I do think he’s doing better than any of us anticipated – and support for him just seems to be growing. Notice that he hasn’t landed in the bottom 2 since week 3…and last week, he wasn’t even in jeopardy. Unless Sean either knocks his dance out of the park this week or gets blatantly overscored, I fully expect to see him in the bottom 2 on Tuesday. Jury’s still out on Ingo, too – as hard as he’s working, I get the feeling he may be blending into the woodwork, and I’m not really seeing a ton of improvement from him…and on top of that, Kym seems like her patience may be wearing thin. He could also be bottom 2 material in the coming week. As for the top of the pack – if the team dance was any indicator, Zendaya is not immune to mediocrity, and I would really consider that paso doble to be an epic fail on Val’s part; there was no reason that they shouldn’t have won that challenge, EASILY. But I daresay complacency could be Zen & Val’s downfall – too many consecutive weeks of praise can lead a couple to feel a bit too…comfortable. Hopefully this week was a wake-up call.
Heidi: My perspective is a bit different after reading the ABC press release for this weeks show. If the judges work it the way I think they will work it, it will mean Zendaya once again at the top of the pack, whether she deserves it or not, and Andy going home.  It is one HUGE manipulative ploy – and if they keep that sort of thing up for the rest of the season, the people the judges want to go home,  WILL go home.  Right now, Andy seems to be that guy. And that pisses me off.  IF the odds makers are looking at that, then they might be right on the money.  Or they could be totally clueless and end up being right accidentally. 🙂 I DO agree that the odds, combined with the twitter voting crap could really cause an issue with Val and Zendaya – if they think they have this in the bag, they could be in trouble. I mean, really – why do TPTB feel like they need to do this immunity thing? Who isn’t getting the votes? Would they do it for Kellie?? Doubtful.  Add in the complacency that some of her fans might be feeling and you are straying into shocking elimination territory.  Seriously, I’ve heard lots of people say they didn’t even vote in the finale last season, they were so sure that Shawn was going to win. How many now consider Zendaya a “sure thing” – including Val and Zendaya themselves?? I don’t know – I’m seriously asking. Anyway, they have Zen and Kellie close to tied with Jacoby at 7/1?? I think they’re under rating him a bit, but we’ll see.
Thanks for posting. Since there are clear Tier 1 and Tier 2 groups this year, I just want to see fun, good performances from all remaining contestants
Bruce, I agree with you on wanting to see fun, good performances from everyone, but TPTB are making that unlikely by giving the couples 4 dances to prepare this week. Still, I’ll try to keep an open mind and hope for the best.
Can someone enlighten me on this week’s immunity. Sorry I have no clue. How will kellie be able to prepare all the dances when she has 3shows this week? Any help is appreciated.
Jvdiv, look at the article with “Immunity Dance Details” in the title; it’s being discussed there.
I posted earlier in a different thread about the celebs and who is getting and not getting the votes but what do you think the chances are that they could have a shocking elimination with Zendaya an Val going home this week or next week? Or her making it to the semis but not the finals?
I don’t know, Heather, but every other time they’ve pulled crap like this (in particular, Chelsea Kane) it was to save their family. Unless I’m mis-remembering. It’s certainly possible.
Hocus Pocus, DWTS is out of Focus. It’s all smoke and mirrors this season. So who really cares about next season? Not me.
If you think about it, Andy has lasted all the way to week 7. I originally thought he’d be a joke on the show, but I’d say he’s done well and should be proud of how far he has come.
Bruce I feel the same way, but Cidra is right about TPTB making it almost impossible with all the extra stuff they have been pulling. Four dances to learn will imo result in dances that will not be what we would expect if they had just two.
I agree Courtney there should have been no reason we didn’t see a better Paso then we did and I wonder why. Was it because Val became complacent or was he saving the big moves for this week because if I remember correctly they have the Paso for their individual dance this week? Maybe I am over thinking this, but was he willing to sacrifice the extra points because he just knows how much the judges love Zandaya and she did get the two tens. Even when the judges gave their remarks about the Paso CAI had to give a shout out about Zandaya being the glue trying to hold the rest together. Maybe his concentration was more on what he was going to plan for her on this week’s dance. I have no idea, but still trying to figure it out.
Same goes for what you said about Sean. I have watched both Andy and Sean’s dances over and over, and I am no expert, but there is no way Sean entertained me like Andy did and technically imo I did not think Sean deserved a 21 and Andy 18. Len had no problem giving Sean and Jacoby both a 7. Plus, we saw how Bruno was consulting with Len. I am sorry, but no way did Jacoby and Sean compare in their respective dance, but again ABC has to take care of it’s own.
Heidi I agree with what you are saying as well and it looks like they are trying hard to pick off the ones that are not part of their family. They seem to be trying hard to get Andy out and the fans are keeping him in. I have no idea if it’s Zandaya that is not getting the votes that they expect, but to be honest I don’t understand why they are doing what they are.
@chachachoochoo #7 love it and isn’t that the truth. I feel the same way.
So Z is assured that she will be at the top of pack and free from elimination. I would so love to see her go within the next two weeks. With 3 other dances for the remaining pairs, you know Aly, Kellie and Jacoby will be paired against Ingo, Andy and Sean assuring that Aly, Kellie and Jacoby win the extra points. I would be shocked to see anything else happen. Just let them dance, be fair with the scores, get rid of twitter voting and see what happens. What’s so wrong with that?
Knowing that Andy’s pilot is for ABC, has me wondering now if they want to keep him around longer to help build interest in the show before it airs. Len does find Andy entertaining, so Ingo may have more to worry about than Andy at this point.
I honestly think Jacoby Jones is getting the most votes.
If you notice, on the results show, they usually call Kellie safe first, and Zendaya and Aly are usually 2nd or 3rd whereas,Jacoby is called safe in the middle of the pack.
I think they don’t want everyone to know he’s getting the most votes they why he’s never called safe first.Kellie probably isn’t that’s why she usually(not a the time) is called safe first; if she was then she wouldn’t be called safe first.
Excuse my typos.
With Andy now shooting the pilot at the same time as DWTS, I actually wonder if ABC thinks it’s time for Andy to go. They would have more access to him for shooting scenes and he can always come back for the finale and remind us about the new sitcom.
It has gotten to the point where even the pros are hindered in the choreo dept because of the manipulation. We rarely see complete or high quality dancing except from 1 or 2 of them and even Derek, as good as he is (best IMO) is becoming hindered by these circumstances. If this were the normal where learned 2 dances this wk, with his skill and Kellies ability, I think we’d see 2 very entertaining, quality routines(and prob from Sharna, Karina, too-not sure abt Val yet)But the way it is, plus the fact he and Kellie have been travelling for 3 days they’ve worked hard on her Samba but the others, not much at all according to him. It’s impossible to complete 4 quality routines in 5 days so strategically he has to hope because she has done the challenge styles that they can do well enough at the last minute. After all they have to make sure their main dance is hopefully perfect considering all the crap that goes on with the judges, voting etc. As a viewer it is just more and more disappointing.
Mimi, I totally agree that TPTB are really sacrificing the quality of the dances these couples can provide by Way overextending them by having them learn so many dances in addition to their other responsibilities. I only see Zendaya faring well in all this. I truly hope that by some miricle she is not the one to receive immunity this week. The only way I can see this occurring however is if by some chance, Val really messes up the choreo somehow like with team paso. Not betting on it happening, but can see it as a possibility.
#12 Last season, people thought Apolo was raking in the votes—even though he was in jeopardy and saved last. I think they might have done it to basically say, “Hey, fans! He’s not getting enough votes. Help him out.” 🙂
Also, last season, I don’t remember Emmitt ever being in bottom 2 or 3 until he was eliminated the same week as Apolo. Not EVERY NFL star has won this thing. I hoping for a finale with Kellie, Jacoby, Andy, and Ingo (I know it won’t happen…I just like Kym lol).
MY POEM FOR WEEK SIX
A BALLROOM FILLED WITH “WONDER”
The ballroom was filled with “WONDER” on Monday night
STEVIE WONDER graced the stage to the crowd’s delight
Bursting out in song, he was the star of the ballroom show
He was The Sunshine of the Ballroom, shining and all aglow
Singing to ballroom cheers and from the bottom of his heart
The dancers gathered to dance to his music, taking their part
Zendaya and Val’s Cha Cha Cha caused the crowd to roar
Andy and Sharna’s Samba whetted our appetites for more
Another Samba by Sean and Peta sashayed across the floor
Aly and Mark’s Foxtrot proved That’s What Friends are For
Ingo and Kym Tangoed in style to the SEVIE WONDER beat
Kellie and Derek Quickstepped with speedy, dazzling feet
Jacoby and Karina Quickstepped with feet as light as air
Lindsey and Victor’s Rumba done with passionate flair
The Paso Doble team of Zendaya, Jacoby, Victor, Ingo
Wowed the crowd with the dance, right on, B-I-N-G-O
The Samba team composed of Aly, Sean, Kellie, Andy
Their disco dance number turned out so fine, so dandy
Lindsey, Victor said their good-byes to their fellow cast
Hugs, good wishes were shared and friendships will last
There was a sense of “WONDER” as the show did start
Signed, Sealed, Delivered From the Bottom of His Heart
We sang along with the tunes, the “WONDER” of it all
Until next week’s show when we come back to the ball!

FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART THESE BALLROOM POEMS I WRITE!
THANKS FOR READING WHAT I SHARE AFTER MON AND TUES NIGHT!
Zendaya’s odds are 1/1.
I’m not a betting man, but does that mean you would make no profit if you put a bet on her? You would just earn your money back?
Cameron – Yep, that’s what it means. It’s supposedly a “sure thing”.
#19 – Actually, from what I understand (but I don’t bet either), you get what you bet, plus that amount again (so, if you bet $1 at 1/1, you would get $2; if you bet $100, you would get $200, etc). People have to have a chance to get something above what they bet, or no one would bet, right?
Butterfly – Nope, for these odds, it’s “What you bet / What you get back”. So, 1/1 odds says you bet a buck, you get a buck – they’re saying that at this point, Zendaya is such a sure thing, there’s no money to be made for the house – if you’re betting on Zendaya, the house is technically betting *against* her, and they’re not interested. 😉
OOPS!!!! SORRY!!! That was backwards. It’s “What you get back / What you bet”.
