DWTS 16, Week 7 – Power Rankings
Well that was a craptastic (and trippy, and nonsensical) evening.
Seriously, powers that be, trash the Latin night theme, because it just feels clichéd and ridiculous now. And dammit, if tonight were a poker game, TPTB would have been the poker rookie that was giggling and smirking like the cat that ate the canary, betting too high, too soon, and then falling out of your chair and inadvertently showing me your royal flush as you flailed – yeah, it was pretty obvious who you wanted to stay and who you wanted to backdoor. And the immunity dance? We already knew that was a turd wrapped in tinfoil, but thank you for actually confirming it. Let’s get down to it so I can take an Ambien and forget today ever happened…
1.) Kellie & Derek – A bit of a gimme, considering they won immunity and can’t be sent home tomorrow – and to be honest, that samba was not Kellie’s best dance, nor do I think it was 10-worthy (but then again, I don’t think any of the 10’s we saw tonight were truly deserved). The technique was there – she handled the samba runs, stationary walks, and rolls without any issues, and she stayed on-time. But I’m guessing that Derek was maybe feeling the weight of having to practice 4 dances with Kellie this week, because it probably wasn’t his most inspired piece of choreography – aside from the clever little slo-mo section in the middle, it got a bit repetitive…Derek sure does love those counter-clockwise torso gyrations, side-by-side 😛 Tonight may as well have been “Pssst…your tic is showing” night for some of the pros…but we’ll get to that later. As for Kellie – she kept up, but I do agree that she wasn’t quite “there” for the whole dance…maybe it was nerves, or just trying too hard to remember her steps. But if this was her “off” week and she still got the high score AND immunity, I doubt she or Derek is losing sleep over it 😉
2.) Zendaya & Val – Get ready, because pigs may start flying: I actually think Zendaya was underscored, especially given that Jacoby got the same score for a dance that was, by comparison, rather messy. HOWEVER, that’s not to say it was 10-worthy, either – I guess if they were gonna give Zendaya a 27, then Jacoby should have gotten a 25. And tonight, I think Val’s “tic” was also on display: as I mentioned last week, he has a real affinity for what I call “dead space” – pauses in the dance that are meant to add dramatic effect, but inadvertently end up looking like the dancers just standing there doing nothing, and it kind of slows down the momentum of a dance and gets a bit…boring. There also seemed to be quite a lot of separate flamenco-style moves, as opposed to them moving as a couple, which was odd – I think he had the right music & the right set-up, and the right partner for a really dynamic, dramatic dance…but he may have blown it a bit on the choreography. Not sure what judge said it, but the only real problem Zendaya had was kind of over-tucking (?) her chin in an effort to look dramatic – it’s kind of a rookie paso mistake, just like freakishly looking at the ceiling in tango is a rookie mistake. Val was probably wise to obscure her legs, which continue to be a problem, as evidenced by her jive tonight…and what was with the sneakers??? She didn’t wear sneakers for her first jive…why wear them now? As for them picking Jacoby & Karina for the immunity challenge – I have two theories: one, they were out to prove something; or two, they were told who to pick by someone higher up, which actually wouldn’t surprise me, given how much funny business there was tonight. I daresay their jive matchup with Jacoby & Karina was the only exciting one tonight. I don’t see them going home this week, but I’m curious to see what the next few weeks leading up to the finale bring – especially since Zen has already burned through every Latin dance except the one most obviously awkward for her: the rumba.
3.) Aly & Mark – Did Aly go for it in her salsa? Yes. Was it fun? Sure. Was it 10-worthy? Hell no. If we’re going to call Jacoby out for a salsa that was basically fluff, and just a bunch of gyrating, then we’ve got to call Aly & Mark (or mainly just Mark) out for it, too. Hell, for the first 20 seconds or so, I thought I had just heard wrong, because it felt more like a merengue or a samba than a salsa – awful lot of bouncing going on. A lot of shimmying, too – and the crawling on the floor? Errr…I guess it was…cute? I’m not even sure how to describe it. Lots of fun, yes, but it was a salsa only in name, really. Then here they come, picking the obvious “gimme” in the immunity dance – Andy. In Mark’s defense, though, I think anyone picking Andy probably would have looked like a bit of an asshole – I love the guy, but I have no disillusions about him being the weakest dancer left. That said – I still think they could have picked either Sean or Ingo and still won their matchup, and left the remainder to go up against Andy. But here’s the strange thing about their immunity cha-cha: was it just me, or was Mark obscuring our view of Aly for quite a bit of it? Yes, we’ve long said there are Muppets running the show, but this even looked like a pretty rookie mistake for the cameramen to make. I still doubt Andy would have won even if our view of her was unobscured, but it just bugs. Anyway, I doubt they’re going anywhere, since they topped the leaderboard in a week where the bottom is pretty damn far away…
4.) Jacoby & Karina – Yes, I acknowledge that a 27 was probably a point or two too high for this salsa – while it was very fun and Jacoby actually handles some of the more intricate steps pretty well, the overall feel was a bit chaotic. Side effect of losing a full day of practice? Who knows – but Jacoby does best all of the other guys still left when it comes to doing lifts. As for the immunity dance – Heidi tweeted and asked “Why the hell did Jacoby chose jive??? He could have won with rumba!!!” and the only good answer I have is that Jacoby just really, really loves his jive…and loves the audience response he gets from it 😛 I’m starting to get the feeling that he is not as hungry for the MBT, so much as he is hungry for just a lot of fun (and there’s nothing wrong with that!)…and while I would love to see him walk away with that trophy on finale night, I’m beginning to wonder if he’s determined enough to really put in the effort to get up to Kellie & Zendaya’s level, technically. Time will tell 🙂
5.) Sean & Peta – All I really remember from both of the rumbas he did tonight was Peta’s choreography tic: slow, slow, FLAIL!, slow, kick your leg up, FLAIL! FLAIL! FLAIL! Aaaaand slow, dramatic arm extension. Seriously, watch her rumbas (and Sean’s Viennese waltz) – she will do 3-4 sections of slow moves, punctuated by 2-3 really fast, choppy, overdramatic moves. I guess you can call it “guerrilla rumba” – just when you least expect it, BLAM! Dramatic arm in your face 😛 I will say this, though – I think Sean did a better job of actually moving around than Ingo did, and while Peta did do a lot of dancing around him, it wasn’t quite as obvious as it was with Ingo & Kym. But calm down there, killer – Sean about flung Peta into the audience on that spin-turned-lift. I would say his immunity rumba with Ingo was probably the most evenly-matched of the night, but it wasn’t particularly exciting – wasn’t terribly invested in either guy. But I was a bit surprised that they gave that one to Ingo – was sure they would fall for the drama & faux-passion of Sean’s rumba AGAIN. Which kind of begs the question for me: did they deliberately leave things pretty even between the two ABC guys? I think it could be almost a toss-up between the two of them in the bottom 2, but my gut is telling me Sean might be safe this week (blech). I’d love to be wrong, and I’d love for him to go home – because as someone here put it, he’s like Willard from Footloose – except he’s not really that charming.
6.) Ingo & Kym – Well, I give props to Kym for looking hotter tonight than she has all season – I think she was probably wise to pull out the blood red fabric and show some leg…and abs…and awesome boobage tonight, on a night where Ingo’s rumba just kind of fell flat. I feel like I say this every week: Ingo seems to try really, really hard, but it just never seems to translate into significant results on the dance floor…especially in the Latin dances, where he just has super-stiff hips. But in contrast to Sean, who seems to benefit from a lot of smoke & mirrors and flash & trash from Peta’s choreography, I do feel like Ingo actually TRIES to get the right technique…so I have to applaud that. His rumba, while awkward, thankfully didn’t feel as contrived and phony as Sean & Peta’s. But again – why switch gears and give the immunity dance to Ingo & Kym, when both guys basically did the same routine again, and Sean scored higher the first time around??? I’m not particularly invested in either guy, but it’s just yet another thing that happened tonight that seemed…off. But anyway – I’m thinking Ingo might take a spill into the bottom 2 tomorrow night, although I’d love for it to be Sean instead. He hasn’t been there – yet – but I have to wonder if his jeopardy appearance a few weeks back was a warning.
7.) Andy & Sharna – First of all, can I just say how much it gave me warm fuzzies to see some of the Kellie fans throwing their votes to Andy after it was announced that Kellie got immunity? 😀 Restores my faith in humanity a bit, which I really needed after a sh*t day at work, and an even sh*ttier time watching tonight’s show – I’m not a particularly vengeful person, but I’m getting to the point where I’m hoping karma bites the judges in the ass. Carrie Ann’s weave gets horribly knotted & the paps get a pic of it looking nasty, Bruno’s Maserati gets a BIIIIG ol’ scratch right down the side of it, Len gets a bad batch of Marmite and ends up with food poisoning – because these three stooges have reached a whole new level of LOW with some of the comments they threw at Andy. We get it, judges, Andy’s the weakest dancer left and he gots ta go – but jeez, way to rub both lemon juice & salt in the poor guy’s wounds. As non-technical as this rumba may have been, it was clever, and it played to Andy’s strengths as a performer – and you can’t deny that it was kinda cute and fun to watch. So there was no need for comments like Bruno’s, where he wished he “could forget that dance”. Pssssh…I wish I could forget your leathery-ass face, Bruno, but I don’t say it out loud…until now. 😉 And I have to wonder if Andy may have been better off picking the jive as their immunity dance, because while his rumba wasn’t good – his first cha-cha wasn’t, either. But anyway – I think they got pretty hosed with their score, and didn’t manage to scoop up any points in the immunity round, so barring a miracle (and I like to believe in miracles!), I think Andy is toast tomorrow – but once again, I’d love to be wrong. Andy just makes me smile so much 😀
So were you guys as disenchanted with Latin night as I was? And what did you think of the immunity dances?
Having the top scorer win immunity meant there couldn’t be a tie. So once Kellie and Jacoby received their 29 each, I really thought that Z was going to get the perfect score. Other than the possibility of Aly getting it, there wasn’t anyone left that could even come close to 29 let alone 30. And we couldn’t have a member of the family be put under unnecessary pressure and made to learn multiple dances not knowing which one they would dance, could we?
So imagine my shock and surprise (and I don’t think I’m alone in this) when Z danced with the 30 still up for grabs and at the end, the judges weren’t drooling over them and telling them how wonderful they are! And more shock and surprise when they received a 28. Val is so over the top and, in my opinion, wants to win so badly if for no other reason to say he won before Maks. All of his strutting made me role my eyes. And I’m positive that Val thought he had the 30 in the bag and probably lost it backstage. Wish I could have seen that reaction.
I liked Kellie and Derek’s dance. It deserved a 30, but like last week, Carrie Ann had to find something to call them on so she could justify giving them a 9.
I felt that Jacoby didn’t dance as well as he’s done in the past and didn’t deserve the 29. A 27 would have been better. And then Carrie Ann had to start that nonsense of bodily functions. Len should have shoved a sock in her mouth to shut her up.
As always, I liked Andy. Tonight’s wasn’t his best, but it was still entertaining. But the judges have it in for him. They don’t want him to stay because they’re afraid he could make it to the semi-finals and to them, that’s a big no no. But Andy still has the great attitude, is having fun and working hard. So I’m hoping he pulls it out again and stays for another week.
I find myself bored every time Ingo dances. There’s nothing there. He’s dull, his dances are forgettable. Those are reasons he should leave before Andy. I don’t think he would be missed.
So glad Mark was able to dance. Aly had fun and it was fun to watch. Mark did look like he was hurting though. They could have so easily received a 30 for it, but once again, one little picky thing kept them from getting it.
Sean. Ugh. Leave. Now. His next dance should be his first dance at his wedding. His time here should be done. I felt that was so still stiff and awkward. Let’s spin Peta around the floor for awhile so he doesn’t have to dance. Len was right, it was wooden. Carrie Ann and Bruno’s gushing was hard for me to watch, but I had to remember, he’s family, therefore he needs to be protected.
What to say about the immunity dances? No surprises. So predictable. I do have to say I would have loved seeing Ingo and Sean dance a jive. I liked Jacoby’s jive better, but knew Z would get it. I liked Ingo’s dance better than Sean. Hard decision for the judges having to choose between 2 family members. Sadly, Aly was better than Andy. Didn’t like this anymore than the dance off to avoid elimination. Please don’t do it again. Can’t wait to see what gimmick they come up with for next week.
The bottom two will be Ingo, Sean or Andy. I’m hoping Sean leaves, if not, then Ingo, but I’m worried about Andy. Since I didn’t have to worry about Kellie, all of my votes this week went to Andy. I want to see him dance another week.
Er, Jacoby got a 27, not a 29. And Zendaya got a 27, not a 28. I was fine with Kellie’s 29 – agreed with it, although Derek is going the “chock full of content” this season, as opposed to the flash. He has a strategy every season, for sure.
I’m actually surprised Kellie won the immunity challenge! Though for sure it was a lock for Zendaya! Once I heard the 3 stooges critique, I KNEW she wasn’t gonna beat Kellie & Aly! I want Andy to stay! He tries hard. His performances are cute! Ingo & Sean could both leave before Andy. Ill be using my online votes for him!!
I didn’t think Kellies samba was all that great. Aly did improve but why can’t Mark put her in sexier costumes! She showed more skin in her Olympic Leotards!
Latin night stunk!
Yeah…not gonna lie, I was pretty unimpressed the whole night. My favorite dance of the night was Jacoby’s, but even I could see there wasn’t a whole lotta salsa in his dance.
I…was pretty “meh” with Kellie’s dance also, to be honest. It looked like a samba, yeah, but did it feel a bit slow to anyone else? I got the same feeling that I did with Melissa’s samba last season: clinically correct, but a bit too slow and a bit too soft.
After last season’s paso, I was fully expecting to be knocked off my feet by Zendaya, but it just felt like a lot of spins, some posing, and looking dramatic. I don’t know if it’s just because Val and Kelly really did have better chemistry for a dance like the paso, or if the whole four dances thing really threw the celebs (and pros) off their game. Lesson to learn: don’t make your couples learn four dances.
Aaaaaand I can’t really remember anyone else. Except for Andy, who I also thought was cute 🙂
I actually thought Zendaya had the dance of the night and should’ve won immunity. I thought Kellie was good too, and there wasn’t anything really wrong with it but I just think Zendaya danced better. I could’ve gone without the immunity dance. I expected worse. It didn’t really do anything, just made the gap for Andy to be safe bigger. Really, I just want him safe one more week, and then I won’t be as upset about his departure. Speaking of Andy, I really hope there are better ways to say “That dance sucked”. My 13 year old niece texted me what they could’ve said in their critiques instead of being downright rude. I don’t remember exactly what she said, but it had far more maturity and class. We both agree the judges need to step on a Lego.
Oy vey! Carrie Ann, you made it perfectly clear that you want Andy to go, so I will make it clear that I want you to get crabs. We should both be a bit more discrete about our wishes.
I don’t remember Sean’s dance and I vaguely remember Ingo’s. I didn’t care for Aly’s dance, but I’ll never pass up an opportunity to see Henry.
Let’s get tomorrow over with.
I think Mark might have been concerned had they picked Ingo or Sean over Andy that they would have picked the rumba, which is going to be hard for Aly to connect with on any week but especially on a week when their rehearsal together is limited. A lot of people were giving them crap on twitter for picking Andy. Mark responded to someone that the whole challenge is unfair.
I thought it was a little awkward with Len and Bruno comparing Aly’s dance to cocktails considering she’s 18 and the spokes person for a campaign against underage drinking.
Thought Bruno in particular was a little unnecessarily harsh with Andy and thought at least CAI tried to give some constructive criticism to Andy about what to work on rather than just a straight slam.
Really, Zendaya’s dance kinda sucked ass. Well, that might be a bit harsh, but when you build up your dance as “best ever”, VAL – the let down is pretty huge. She was definitely third place tonight. So, while I don’t think there were any 10 worthy dances, I do think the rank is about right. Although I think Kellie beat Aly.
Really, this was the stupidest thing they’ve EVER done. And I expound on that in my numbers post. LOL
::::snort:::: Thanks, Lindsey, I think I just aspirated wine. 🙂
Tumbles, I don’t blame Mark – he should stop apologizing. Val looks worse, IMO.
None of the dances were amazing tonight, but I would have had Kellie & Derek win as well with what was put on the floor. I did enjoy their dance the most, esp. the slow section, and it had good content and performance. It just wasn’t a ‘wow’ dance.
I think the producers need to stop with this pressure (4 dances to worry about in week 7) on rookies especially, these aren’t All-Stars. It’s hard enough on the celebs at this point without making them learn 4 dances instead of 2. I think some of their individual ones could have been better if there wasn’t an immunity dance, and that’s what the fans really want….
I was shocked they didn’t give Zendaya the win, it was what I expected when they announced she was dancing last. But after that paso, I would have really been disappointed if they did score it a 30, it wasn’t a 30 dance. I can name at least 10 better pasos that have been done on the show. I really expected them to knock if out of the park, I was surprised that it was lackluster.
I do like that Aly is really putting personality out there on the floor. But content-wise, that was not a 10 dance either.
It was nice to see the battles were all not completely uneven. Not surprised at all Val wanted to go against Kellie & Derek….he is intense like that after all…haha. That would have been a most interesting battle though.
One thing I did love is that since Kellie & Derek won immunity, Kellie fans could also now vote for Andy, because I know there are many that are big fans of both! Hope this gimmick backfires on the producers and someone else goes home other than Andy….I would much rather see Sean and Ingo go before Andy!
@PH Well, now we know she may be able to dance but she can’t act worth a shyte.
This might be nitpicking but how the heck did Ingo and Andy get actual Latin songs to their Rumba and Sean got friggin’ Hero?
Actually,Zendaya has two Latin dances left,Rumba and Salsa.
I actually would’ve have really liked tonight if it weren’t for three reasons:
1. The HARSH criticism of Andy- Seriously, he is the weakest. But why so cruel? Give him a few things to improve on and encourage him. That’s it. Why throw in all those mean, snarky comments?
2. The stupid immunity thing- I do think Kellie deserved it if it really had to happen, but I still hate the idea. I wish they didn’t do this. I imagine they did this and the duel to send Andy home. And really, I’m certain Kellie, Jaocby, Aly, and Zendaya would all be fine without this thing. Really.
3. The stupid dance duel- Gah. Waste of time. Didn’t even watch the duels thoroughly.
Anyways, I actually really liked a few dances tonight:
1.) Kellie & Derek- I actually was VERY impressed with this, especially based on the fact that her schedule was so hectic. I was honestly worried this would have been a train wreck, but I thought it was quite the opposite really. I actually thought she managed to hit everything well, bring lots of fun, and had some great legs and technique. I do think her face went blank here and there. But I do think it was worthy of a 28. I found this to be really good and would have LOVED to have seen what she could have done with more time to practice.
2.) Zendaya & Val- I thought this was good too. I don’t think it was quite as good as Kellie or Aly, but I still thought it was very close. Zendaya had great passion and some really nice shapes in here. And other than the stop and go moments, I liked Val’s choreography. I do agree with the judges regarding her chin and I do think her arms were a tad “broken” in some of the Spanish lines. Not to mention there were a few turns that were wobbly. Overall, though, I think it was worthy of what it got. I think they did a good job.
3.) Aly & Mark- I actually LOVED this dance. It had just enough salsa content to please me and man it was FUN. I was smiling ear to ear. I guess on a night where negativity is rampant I can really appreciate a dance that much more that makes me grin like this one did. Aly’s personality is finally coming out and it’s great to see. It’s also done good things for her dancing. I do think she was a little too bouncy in spots, but overall, I thought it had great rhythm, good technique, and of course, lots of entertainment. A bright spot of the night for me 🙂 I give this a 28 as well.
4.) Jacoby & Karina- I did somewhat enjoy this, but it was one of my least favorites from Jacoby. I loved the music, he had good rhythm and moved really well, but he was pretty floppy and sloppy. Can’t say I really liked it too much. I thought it was overscored. 24
5.) Sean & Peta- I don’t remember a lot of this rumba, but I remember thinking it was better than Ingo’s by a little bit IMO. I felt that Sean moved a bit smoother and got the passion just a bit more. However, it still got jerky and awkward in spots. 22
6.) Ingo & Kym- I kind of liked this. But Kym was the only event here for me 😛 He managed to do some things well…but he’s just a really awkward mover unfortunately. Good heat here and there but I can’t say I have a ton of praise here. 21
7.) Andy & Sharna- I just love these two. Bring a smile to my face no matter what. I thought what they did with what they were given was clever and I enjoyed it. Is Andy great? Of course not. But he brings the joy of dance to me and that is a good gift. 20 I wouldn’t mind seeing him stick around over Ingo.
Mark explained on twitter why they chose Andy, in his perspective he wanted to help Andy so I think it was okay and fair. I think Zendaya didn’t really dance to her potential, Kellie did great, but Aly’s dance was much more fun and entertaining, so I think they should’ve gotten immunity in my opinion.
Yeah, I was voting for Andy and Jaboby both, EP – I would love to see it backfire also. 🙂
@Dwtsfreak I completely agree. I don’t think there were any 10-worthy dances tonight either…Zendaya’s was clearly the best IMO. Kellie’s seemed way too slow, and Aly’s was not a stand-out…
As I said before, Andy’s made it to Week 7. That’s quite an accomplishment, and I think it’s appropriate for him to leave this week…unfortunately, he was this week’s worst.
Am I the only one who thought Sean actually did decent? I thought his Rumba dance-off was better than Ingos…I mean not 10-worthy, but improvement. (not that I’m voting for him, cause I am not)
Shocked that Kellie and Derek got the immunity. That makes me nervous. One, it could start a backlash against them and two, it makes me wonder if they’re not getting the votes.
What was up with Carrie Ann tonight? Talking to Kellie like she’s a dog with the “focus, Kellie, focus”; giving Andy a five; and talking about how they have to be tougher now. Her being trying to be tough is laughable.
Poor Andy. The bus came for him and backed up over him. Here’s hoping their little plot to get rid of him fails.
well.. I found tonight a HOT MESS and I really did not like this side by side challenge.
Kellie: I was actually pleasantly surprised that Kellie won the immunity, I thought out of all the dances she deserved it the most but like you said, I don’t think it was a “10” worthy either but I love Kellie, shes like a tiny little tinkerbell and seems like a genuinely nice person. Oh and I don’t mind seeing Derek shirtless either 🙂
Zendaya: I thought she would have been the one to win immunity but I found her dance a little awkward? I’m actually at the point where I don’t even care if I watch her dance or not, we all know it’s going to get praised by the judges but theres something about the attitude Val and her portray that bothers me, cockiness maybe? I’m not too sure but it’s something. I also feel like they were surprised that they didn’t get a 10.
Aly: I was SO happy she is loosening up although it was not a “10” worthy. I would have given this dance three 9’s but it was one of my favourite dances of hers.
Jacoby: I LOVE JACOBY! but.. I feel like there should have been more dancing rather than all the lifts, although I loved some of the lifts they did. I would have given this a 26 but I feel like his footwork is improving. OH! and I LOVE HIS MOM!!!
Sean: I found it awkward and I really don’t think Peta has the best choreography, I feel with her Rumba’s it’s usually having her tossed around, lifting her leg excessively (zzzz) and I don’t know.. In comparison to other pros, I don’t like her choreo. That being said I found the package with Sean and his fiance kind of awkward and eh.. I don’t care for this couple anymore.
Ingo: I like Ingo and him and Kym make two hot aussies but eh.. I don’t think he should go this week and I feel like Sean should leave before him but meh.. he’s just there for me.
Andy: I LOVE ANDY and I even voted for him this week. Carrie-Ann bothers me so much because HOW DID THAT DANCE DESERVE A 5?!! I mean it wasn’t his best dance but if they gave people like DL a 6 in past weeks.. how did Andy deserve that 5? Ugh. and then Bruno’s comments.. I mean there is constructive criticism which I get BUT what he said was just mean. I love watching Andy dance and I actually enjoy him more than Sean and Ingo. I honestly wished that Tom would have grabbed Len’s paddle and smacked Bruno and Carrie-Ann on the head. I felt so bad for him.

THE SIDE-By-SIDE Dances
———————–
I figured that the higher tier would have picked the lower tier which is why I wasn’t surprised Aly picked Andy but when Val made his comment about “we should dance against people closer to our level” I felt like that comment came across rude. I mean I understand I understand what he said but the way he said it bothered me, it came across like dissing Aly and Mark for taking advantage but also dissing Ingo and Sean saying they are not good enough.. THEN made the comment “we would have picked Kellie and Derek..” saying that Aly and Jacoby are also not up to their level. To me it came off cocky to me which is a reason this couple bothers me.
Halfway through Kellie and Derek’s dance, my wife and I agreed that Derek was throwing in everything and the kitchen sink regarding content, to give her the best chance of getting 10’s from Len and Bruno (Carrie Ann’s comment seemed to me to be saying, you danced too well, therefore you don’t deserve a 10).
Regarding Zendaya’s upcoming Rumba, how does Val approach that? What did Derek do with Shaun, or was she already 18 at the time?
Surprised as everyone that Zendaya did not get a 30, although it would have been very undeserved.
Hated the whole immunity bit, but not splitting the 3 points between Jacoby and Zendaya showed the “ABC bias”.
If they’re going to have Latin night, then ALL of the music needs to be truly Latin. It makes no sense to have Latin night, and not have 100% Latin music.
Next, Carrie Ann Inaba has become excruciatingly irritating. Her first faux-pas was the “fart” joke with Jacoby, even though he makes fun, it’s not appropriate in this setting.
Next again…..there was truly no sense in CAI giving Andy a score of 5. That was pointless. This is a entertainment show and most of these celebrities are not trained dancers. If we have to put up with Sean’s lack of dance skills and watch his higher scores, they need to at least show Andy the same fairness in their judging.
CAI is all over the place with her hormones and her judging. She is not professional, in my opinion; but then again, neither is Bruno. I’ve read the judges’ bios, and if DWTS is going to be so “ticky” about their critiquing……THEN…….quite frankly, Len is the only one who is truly qualified to judge ballroom dancing.
Zendaya’s dance was 3rd place at best. “Clearly”
Fancy, they already have backlash because of moronic fans – what’s a little immunity on top of that? They’re not going to win, in any case. CAI is an idiot. She scored both Zendaya and Aly higher than Kellie which is relatively ludicrous.
I agree with you Jessica. Val’s comment showed too much of his ego and aggressive attitude.
One good thing about tonight. At least immunity was not a Twitter vote.
I am starting to wonder if the next theme week will be “Lets Throw A Bunch Of Crap At The Couples and See Who Doesn’t Suck.”
@Lee I felt CAI’s comment to Kellie was kind of backhanded and Zendaya while technically night be able to pull off a Rumba emotionally no.
Once again why a sixteen year old should not be on the show because if you got to ask if it is legal to do a dance (Rumba) then you already know the answer.
First mistake—don’t tell your kid you just finished icing her fave chocolate cake. Second mistake—kid bringing 10 of her friends in for cake while DWTS is on. BEST RESULT–nobody got cake until they voted for Andy. SWEET REVENGE—sorry for the pun. I hope he knocks TPTB for a loop because sometimes, the underdog should float to the top for one more week.
“Footnote”–and why was little Miss Z prepared for a Jive with her Converse shoes on?
FYI, I just wanted to share with you the reason why Jacoby took a day off to soak in an ice bath……..his knee was swelling again. I noticed him limping the other day. I remember telling my sister that those coaches were going to kill him if he damaged that knee again. Hopefully, no serious damage was done. I’m seriously glad they didn’t air that part. Knowing Coach he’ll figure it out.
I wonder if the immunity went as the judges hoped it would? None of the dances deserved 10’s.
Knew Mark would pick Andy in the dance off because of Andy liking the cha cha and this would be easier on Mark’s back.
While surprised Val/Zendaya wanted to battle Jacoby/Karina, I wonder if this was a plan on their parts because they seem to be friends and may be confident of their fan bases voting for them. Certainly the most exciting of the three dance offs. I see from twitter that the Zendaya crowd is riled up urging her fans to vote.
For bottom 2, I see two of the Team Samba members there with Sean and Andy battling to stay alive.
Not a great night, not really any great dances, everyone was overscored in the first round except for Andy who was slightly underscored. That’s what you get when you make people learn 4 dances in one week. A crap show.
I knew that somehow Jacoby would be up against one of the female celebs and he’d be the only one of the top tier of celebs who didn’t get 3 points. I wasn’t sure going into the show how it would happen, but I knew it would somehow. As soon as Zendaya mysteriously didn’t get the 30 when her dance wasn’t any worse than previous dances she’s done that they’ve praised to high heaven, I knew that’s how it was happening. They would pick Jacoby to dance against. I knew it the second she didn’t have immunity. I think it was scripted.
The most egregious judging was CAI taking a point off of the already bottom-barrel Andy for a lift, but then giving Sean an 8 even though he had a blatant lift that she commented on. So what, that means she would have given him a 9 for that bland performance if the lift hadn’t happened? Really, she would have given Sean the same score as Zendaya? So much BS on this show it’s starting to get hard to wade through it all.
I loved, loved Kellie’s samba! I really love watching samba, and that traditional samba is very rare in this show is a bit of a let down every season. Especially since my favorite Derek, tends to go for the flashy stuff, whether because of going for the entertainment or to hide his past partners’ flaws. So I love all the samba steps in that dance! Glad they won the immunity with a technical dance.
Jacoby, I agree with Len, I wish I saw more salsa and fewer lifts. But Karina and Jacoby never fail to deliver <3
Zendaya, it didn't wow me, but I think it's a good paso. I love her dress! But her hair and lipstick color are awful imo 😛
What genius music and choreography is that for Andy's rumba!!! And Sharna's dress, just wow! I don't get why they keep pounding on him. He's not good, but every stiff beginner male dancer dance just about like that for rumba, don't they? Rumba is difficult!
Aly's salsa was so much fun! It may be lacking in technical content but I just can't complain at all. Such entertainment to watch.
FYI, the reason why Jacoby took a day off was his knee had started swelling again. I noticed him limping the other day. Hopefully, no damaged was done to that knee that he recently had surgery on. I wouldn’t want to face coach if some damage was done to that knee.
#1 Guffaw of the night: Brook confirming we have a tie, and “according to the rule book”—sure a RULE BOOK on this show? You’ve got to be kidding. I laughed so hard, I barely heard that Kelly & Derek had immunity. I had to rewind later to find out that the rule book states, “that in the event of a tie, the overall cumulative score for the season would determine the team receiving immunity.” Don’t you know Mark Burnett and Jeff Probst are having fun with this “Survivor” concept.
and WTH–did CAI not call out the blatant lift from Sean & Peta? I was expecting an air traffic controller to do a voice over clearing them for take off.
Lee, Shawn was 20 when she dance rumba with Derek, and 17 when she danced it with Mark. She did much better with Derek because that 3 years is pretty critical in terms a maturity.
I think Andy is safe, he’ll be getting sympathy votes and Kellie votes since her fans don’t need to vote for her. I think it’s Ingo or Sean going home, unless it’s a shocking elimination (which I guess would have to be Jacoby since he’s the bottom scorer of the “good” dancers.)A shocker may be possible since people who are fans of the top tier may vote for Andy thinking their fave is safe, only they aren’t safe after all.
And seriously, as someone mentioned above, it’s like Val went out of his way to insult almost every competitor. His pick on your own size insulted Aly for going against Andy, insulted Ingo and Sean by saying they aren’t worthy, then he insults Jacoby by saying he only picked him because the only worthy competitor, Kellie, was safe. Really, it’s almost impressive how he managed to insult so many people with so few words. He needs to shut up.
For me I thought the whole night was very off for different reasons. Many of the things I expected to happen didn’t. I expected Zandaya to win Immunity and I also expected to see an amazing Paso from Val. After reading what he tweeted I expected to be blown away with his choreograph and I was not. Maybe it was just me, but I don’t think it compared at all to some of the memorable ones I have seen over the seasons. I’m not qualified to say how Zandaya danced, but I didn’t care for it as a viewer and jmho. I think what we received in the dances were a result of having too many dances in one week.
I can honestly say I didn’t think anyone blew me away. Some dances I enjoyed more than others, but felt everyone was off their game. I still am confused as why this had to be done. I did pick up on little things that made me wonder. Why did Peta bring Catherine in this particular week? Catherine was a favorite among people who watch the show, so I think it was a way to gain votes. In my area they aired Sean with Des who is going to be the next Bachelorette, and again I wondered about the timing since it doesn’t air for a month. Was this all because he was in the bottom two last week?
Two things I didn’t understand were Andy saying the jive in his package and then going with the cha cha, and why Karina and Jacoby didn’t pick the Rumba. Something just didn’t seem right there. I know Jacoby loves the jive, but I just had a feeling there was more to it. During the packages all we saw was Val talking about the challenge it will be for Val and Zandaya to do a Rumba, but I never heard Val tell her that they would have to do four dances that week. I personally liked Jacoby’s better than Zandaya, but all 3 stooges went with her. I almost felt like they expected Zandaya to be the one to get the perfect score, and when they couldn’t for her regular dance they made sure to give her the extra points. I must add Val really looked mad to me after they didn’t win Immunity.
Courtney my rankings were a bit different than yours. I know you know a whole lot more than me about this, but these are mine just as a viewer.
Kellie and Derek I was very happy that Kellie received Immunity. I really enjoyed the dance, but didn’t blow me away. Kellie is a beautiful dancer and she normally does blow me away.
Jacoby and Karina I just liked this Salsa, and of any of the male celebs none can move like he can. I thought his movements and musicality were great.
Aly and Mark had the same dance, but just liked Jacoby’s better. I didn’t like that crawling on the floor move. Just thought she was too bouncy.
Zandaya and Val as I already mentioned I just didn’t care for it. I was almost bored by it. I am sure she danced it very well, but I didn’t care for the choreograph.
Ingo and Kym I thought Ingo had a cleaner more polished look to his and and just enjoyed it more than Sean and Peta’s version.
Sean and Peta I was so happy that Bruno called him out for his butt sticking out because I noticed it, but since I am no expert I thought what did I know. What puzzled me was he stuck it out in the dance off and Bruno was the one who went with them.
Andy and Sharna I will always love Andy and am so proud of him. I enjoy him immensely, but have to rank him here. I still voted for him, as I have all season and hope he gets to stay another week, but I know his time is coming to an end on this show.
Immunity dances with the exception of Jacoby and Zandaya went like I thought they would. I still liked Jacoby’s better.
With all the manipulations I have no idea who is going to leave tomorrow night. Since Kellie was safe, and many people are voting for Andy because they can’t for Kellie, he may be safe. I still believe a lot of Bachelor fans will vote for Sean. I have no idea what Jacoby or Ingo’s fan base is, and at this point nothing will surprise me. I would really like to see Sean go over Andy or anyone else at this point.
I really thought I was going to enjoy this season, but TPTB are making it extremely hard. If they are making it this hard on the viewers, I wonder what it is doing to the celebs who signed up for it?
Reading twitter, I feel bad that Aly and Mark have to defend their decision to pick Andy because of the comment Val said. I honestly don’t think they need too because I’m pretty it was sorted out who would verse who prior to the picking.
Like Karina said when they were picking their dance that Zendaya and Val didn’t want to do the rumba (so they picked Jive which I think Jacoby wanted as well)
and then Aly just now on twitter saying Andy and Aly were the only two who wanted cha cha so that’s why they both did that dance.
That dance off was the stupidest thing I ever saw. I hope they don’t bring that back again. I was pissed that Carrie Anne gave Andy a 5 – that was a low blow. I hope he gets enough votes to stay.
I think Val talking up their dance as the best ever and them getting the pimp spot backfired on them big time! If they had gone first or even just earlier than Kellie and Derek, I think Zendaya would have probably gotten a higher score and therefore the immunity. I liked the fact that Val picked Karina and Jacoby to dance against, but the way he put it about “Let’s pick on someone our own size” just really came off as very demeaning toward the other contestants.
I think also that somehow with most of Kellie’s fans supporting Andy this week, this may also backfire on them down the line. I’m sorry, I do enjoy Andy’s dancing and seeing his journey, but he was the worst dancer last night. I think Sean did well and much better than I expected him to do. This is where I see the popularity, more than the dancing coming into play. Andy, even though his dancing is worst than Sean and Ingo, will probably be saved. I think even though he had the lowest scores, with Kellie’s fans voting for him I expect he may make it to next week. I can see Sean going, especially since Ingo won the dance off. But it also could be Ingo, since I’m not sure he has the viewer votes. It also would add to the “shocking elimination” element by sending Ingo home after he won his dance off and because it is obvious Andy is a worse dancer than Ingo.
#32 NancyM You hit the nail on the head. Never have so few words insulted so many people in one sentence. What a pompous ass Val is by making that statement. “Somebody your own size” There’s no one there that small Val! And you are not a proven choreographer like Derek (or Karina), so don’t put yourself on that level. Try as he might to sound intelligent, he still has the same attitude as his bro.
Loved Derek and Kellie and considering their schedule the past week the score was well deserved.
I agree with ChachaChoochoo, why was Zendaya allowed to wear sneakers for the jive? that in my opinion was not fair!
I thought Jacoby and Karina were great with their jive.
Andy or Sean could be going home tonight.
Lets hope Derek and Kellie have an ARgentine Tango next week, please!
The choreography this year has been all over the place. Most of the dances don’t contain the elements that should be present in a competition. The songs are even worse.
The one that really got me was the Paso Doble to “bites the dust”. Say what?
It was supposed to be latin night, but I live in South Florida, and that didn’t sound like latin night to me!
I thought the best of the night was a tie between two couples: Derek/Kellie and Aly/Mark. Aly has really impressed me these last few weeks. She’s getting more relaxed and dancing better and better. I think she could be our dark horse if she keeps this up.
Zacoby/Karina and Zendaya/Val were my next faves. I just love how Zacoby always does his own thing and just dances. I especially loved him during the dance off and thought they should have won. I just wish Karina wouldn’t have thrown so many tricks into their individual dance and just let him be to entertain and dance. Zendaya and Val were powerful and yet there is something always weak about her legs.
My next fave couple (and I’m shocked at this) was Sean and Peta. I thought he really improved this week and seemed really in the moments and feeling it all more. His 2nd Rumba was even better for the Dance Off.
Next in line: Kym and Ingo. I love these two, but, tonight I didn’t feel as much passion in his dancing and with Kym as before. I think he’s “thinking” too much.
And lastly, Andy and Sharna. I just love them in and out. I loved how entertaining they were and full of heart again. All I can say is Andy is truly a winner no matter what happens tonight. He should be so proud of what he’s accomplished. But oh how I thought some of the comments from the judges were un-necessary. They sure could learn some class from Andy. I threw all my votes to them too.
Seeing a lot of people on sites saying that Mark’s choreography seems similar to what he did with Bristol last season—too much shimmy & shaking going on. I went back and re-watched all their dances and with the exception of the quickstep and foxtrot, they do have same steps it seems. Kind reminds me of William Levy doing same moves in every dance and Len finally called them out in finals–not sure he’ll call Aly & Mark out though.
Another “issue” people are chatting about is Jacoby’s mom (some thought she was his wife LOL). They think she is rude and that perhaps a turn off to potential voters (those whose favorite is eliminated and looking to support someone new). Just curious what everyone here thinks?
Also, I was seeing a lot of fans tweet Apolo recently about coming back to dance for 300th episode. Has anyone heard if they are going to have former contestants come back and dance to the top ten dances voted on by fans? Do they plan of having fans vote for dances? Thanks for the info. (:
Craptastic indeed, Courtney.
The judges’ treatment of Andy is just horrible.
And based on how they scored everyone else, the scores were inexcusable.
TPTB did throw me a curve on how they storyboarded the show. I was fully expecting Z to pull out a 30 from the pump spot.
But instead they had V subtly put down Jacoby while trying to look studly by going after somebody their “own size”. (But we would have picked Kellie)
That move allowed Ingo to beat the already over scored Sean who didn’t need the extra points. Thus tptb maximized the gap between the pack and Andy. Hope it backfires.
And Aly/Mark shouldn’t feel bad about picking Andy. The stooges weren’t going to give him the bonus no matter who he danced against. Better somebody already at the top of the leader board than some one who might be in danger.
Ugh.
I think the problem with Kellie and Derek’s dance last night was the music, not the dance itself. The music was kind of slow, with an erratic beat. It certainly wasn’t a piece of music that would make me get up and do some Latin dancing. Having said that, Kellie’s lines were beautiful, and she deserved the top score.
As for Aly and Mark’s dance, I kept asking myself where the dance steps were. However, I will say that was the most comfortable she’s been on the floor the entire season.
Zendaya’s paso doble was too soft for me. I like to see sharp, powerful lines on the paso doble, with a lot of side-by-side dancing. I was so glad the judges didn’t give her a 30, as I was expecting them to do since she was the last dance of the night. I wonder if she underpeformed and had a much better rehearsal dance.
Okay, Andy’s rumba was one of the few rumbas that I have ever enjoyed watching on the show.
I think Kellie’s immunity was deserved, as much as a crap PTB orchestrated vote blocking farce can be deserved by anyone. Tonight did seem more technical than other weeks, but it was still the cleanest of the routines.
The rest was kind of…off. Zendaya wasn’t as strong as I was expecting. Jacoby IMO will make it to final 3 on the grace of charisma and the football voting fan block, because he’s really not that good technically. His jive, especially compared to Z, shows how much he still needs to clean up his feet. He’s the better of the males left, but that’s not saying a ton.
I like ingo, but he and sean are equally mediocre and forgettable on the dance floor. I keep hoping Andy pulls a Ty Murray and makes it to the semifinals, because he’s just more enjoyable to watch to me. Not enjoyable is watching his critiques. You CAN be honest with criticism without being an A-hole, judges. I have the urge to hug him and wrap him in a big fuzzy blanket of votes.
I tend to lump Aly in with Ingo and Sean. From a Mark partner standpoint she moves more like Bristol than Shawn (or Chelsea,Kristi, etc.). There is def camouflaging going on, but Mark is one of those pros that makes sure technique is clean so it bumps her up just a hair above the fellas. Val’s pointed “pick on somebody our own size” was pretty douchey. Mark’s injured, and there is NO ONE on Andy’s technical level. There was not going to be a fair match up there, so they coordinated to at least get the Cha Cha they both preferred.
My money is on Sean going home tonight.
We were painting at home yesterday and forgot to plug the TV back in so when I went to start the show at 9 (fast forward through nonsense) it east there. Not going to lie…not angry about it. Watched the some live and you tubed what I wanted for the rest…
Kellie and Derek- not my favorite but I did enjoy it. Thought CAIs comments were correct though. Maybe it was because of the load this week.
Aly and Mark- I’m starting to like her much more than I originally did. Her personality is much less robotic but her steps still are. And that ground crawling move was totally from Lindsay and Witneys (and nicks) welcome to the top 20 dance on so you think.
Zendaya and Val- it wasn’t bad, but there is just so much hype with her. Saw some slips in the beginning that I thought CAI would call out. Don’t know what I’m upset that she wore sneakers for her dance off.
Andy and Sharna- I usually vote for Kellie but all my votes went to Andy tonight! I just love him and want this to backfire.
Didn’t watch the rest, however I hated everything about immunity except for now voting for Andy.
So glad that Kellie won immunity and how awesome are her fans to be throwing some votes Andy’s way. Sure he is technically the worst dancer left, but dang it, I love him just the way he is!!
I would love the see the faces on the Three Stooges if Andy makes it through this week. Priceless!!
Okay, it’s official, I don’t like Val any longer, I thought this season that maybe I could warm up to him, but that’s not in the cards. Once a C-Brother always a C-Brother, it’s in their blood.
CAI is a B*tch!
PH, sorry for the incorrect scores! My brain must have left for a bit.
Oh, lordy, what a night…..thought the night was meh……too many dances for the pros and the celebs to have this week….can’t imagine how stressful that was….????….and thought it showed int he routines…..I’m glad that Kellie and Derek had immunity other than the fact, I’ve seen on other web sites….”those” people are all like yeah, give it to the golden boy….so will probably bite them in the behind…..Aly?…sorry….that routines was just shimmy…..she does nothing for me at all….it does appear she is loosening up as the season has went on but her dancing is not sharp and crisp…and I just read on here where someone said it reminds them of Mark and Bristol….and bingo…that’s it exactly….and that is not a compliment….plus the fact whenever she is interviewed after the dances, she comes off so rehearsed…….Val, Val, Val…..I mean I did think it was below the belt for Mark and Aly to pick Andy…..but your comment was below the belt also…..and yes, you insulted everyone with just a few words….I guess that is a talent….ha, ha….Andy?…love him….he is an awful dancer, got it…but he is so happy to be there, so happy to be doing this……it’s a joy…and isn’t that what dance is suppose to make you feel???…the judges are unnecessarily cruel…….long evening for me….kept thinking is this not over yet?
I definitely felt a bit of deja vu of the Season 12 semifinals last nite. When it was completely obvious who TPTB/3 Stooges wanted to leave, and yes once again, Bruno made inappropriate comments towards said couple?
And I seriously wonder if Val picking Jacoby/Karina to dance against in the dance-off was planned-in order to make sure one of Ingo/Sean got bonus points to put enough room between Andy and the rest of the pack. If I’m looking at the numbers correctly (and I may not be)-Andy *might* have had a prayer of catching up to Ingo if he stayed at 22, but catching up to Sean’s 24 is going to be a tougher hurdle to jump over (even with the Kellie/Derek fans throwing Andy their votes.) I noticed once Len said Ingo/Kym in their danceoff-therefore granting I/K the 3 points-Kym looked SHOCKED. I think she was expecting Sean to win that one (and honestly, so was I)-and just seemed so relieved when being interviewed “we really needed those points.”
Anyone else notice when voting on FB and ABC.com, that Kellie/Derek were not removed from the voting choices? I didn’t try and vote for them so for all I know, you may have gotten an error message when trying to vote for them. Gave Andy all my votes 🙂
Did Aly really wear a costume she just wore 2 weeks ago? 🙂
I am not sure what is going on with Mark this year but i am not enjoying his choreo…i see alot of shimming, just dance party type steps. I get it- Aly is having fun and maybe that is the whole point of her being on the show but i don’t look at her and say WOW she is a great dancer. She just looks like a girl going out on the dance floor and shaking what her momma gave her. Plus- for the love of God…can someone style her?!?! Her outfits are hideous!!!! As are Mark’s…OMG…help them!!!! Val seems to me like he is getting all caught up in his head…his OTRC interview- seriously dude- lighten up! He suffers from the same thing Maks does just not to the degree that he does- saying things that just sound wrong. His comment about picking on people his own size and then up in the skybox saying they wanted Kellie and Derek bc they are the best and you have to compare with the best…um, hello?! Jacoby and Karina are standing like 6 inches from you…they just don’t know when to keep quiet or better yet- use their words wisely. But to me, Val is suffering from “you have a really good dancer you need to make great routines”..he is actually getting in his own way. His paso with Kellie last year was much better. Finally, reading all the tweets it seems pretty obvious that all the couples knew who they were going to be dancing against and what dance they wanted to do.
After Jacoby & Karina danced , the night did seem to drag on. They should’ve gone with less filler and no challenge. I wonder if ABC just needed to fill the time?
I see trouble for Zendaya with her pouting when she doesn’t get top scores. She looked sullen after she got those 9s. I don’t think that’s going to play well with the audience in the upcoming weeks, when she should be getting more criticism.
Very odd that the whole evening, (Zendaya going last, Tom’s comments about perfection, leaving room at the top after the top dancers had danced), seemed to be setting up Zendaya for the perfect 30 and immunity and then it didn’t happen. I’m still not sure why they didn’t go for it, because we know they can justify any score they want on the show. I will say I’m glad they didn’t because we got to see Val fuming when they only got 9s and managing to insult every couple with his comments during the dance off.
I was also surprised that Bachelor boy didn’t get the three extra points in the dance off, but looking back I wonder if they decided Ingo needed a bit more cushion over Andy. I imagine they can track voting during the show and without the three extra points Ingo would have had a 22 to Andy’s 17. Now Ingo has 25 and Sean has 24. Wow, now they both have at least a 41% lead over Andy. Andy must really be bringing in the votes for them to need Sean/Ingo to have that much of a lead.
On a last note, like others I caught Zendaya’s shoes prior to her knowing she would be getting the jive. Those shoes would have been so appropriate for the rumba. Thanks Val/Zendaya for letting us know the whole dance off was a set up.
For me, the most priceless part of the evening, was seeing the looks on Val and Zendaya’s faces when they didn’t get the 30 they so clearly thought they would get. It was worth watching the rest of a horrible evening.
I am so tired of the judges cruelty. No, Andy’s not the best, but he’s probably trying the hardest and he should be getting more kudo’s for that. Constructive critisim is fine, but there is no need to be mean and rude.
I love how Kellie and Derek’s fans are throwing their votes to Andy. I hope this seriously backfires on TPTB
I’m really waiting for derek to bring back his wow choreo…i know he’s going for content and technique…which he always does…but he’s so busy keeping it clean that he’s not wowing me with the last two dances…they were technically perfect but no wow….c’mon derek…bring back the choreography we all know and love! it’s getting boring…i look forward to his stuff the most because everybody else’s is kinda boring..
To me that felt like the worst performance show I have ever seen on this show. I am so disappointed in the manipulation.
CAI is just gross, a 5 really? Was it necessary to be that much of a cow towards Andy and pull out a 5! I voted everything I had for Andy if anything to help combat the negativity that he is experiencing.
Don’t know if Val’s “pick on our own size comment” was planned or what but felt like a dig at Mark. The C brothers are interesting to me (Val this season/Maks other seasons). If you are going to be cocky and talk about how your dance will be the best Paso ever and strut around like that then you really need to bring it. He hasn’t brought anything amazing just average choreo when he should be killing it with a super capable partner. I thought we would see what Val had this season but the last couple weeks he has really fallen flat.
Pass the moonshine, I will need it for tonight’s show. Cheers to a better week next week.
Latin night was a fail for me after much anticipation since it’s my favorite dances and music. There is so much awesome salsa music out there and the 2 songs that were chosen were not salsa nor did the couples dance salsa, yet the judges seemed to love their dances. I don’t get it.
I really liked the colors in Mark and Aly’s costumes. Other than that what can I say? A disjointed mess. Carrie’s Ann’s bathroom humor was a distinct turn off. I don’t have a problem with Val’s directness. It’s a Chmerkovskly trait I find refreshing.
Had to double take when Mark introduced the Jive dance off as “First, Zendaya and Val, then Jacoby and MARK.” I would like to see Jacoby and Mark jive.
I enjoyed Mark and Aly’s dance even though I was very concerned for Mark’s back. I’m officially over Jacoby’s leap frog move – I don’t think he needs it any more until the finals. I found something missing from Kellie and Derek again – and I found myself agreeing with CAI which is frightening. And I really want Kellie to do well. I appreciated what Val said, seeing as it’s basically what’s been said all over the internet including here this past week. The dance duels were an unfair and shitty idea. I adore that Sharna is taking Bruno to task over his treatment of Andy. CAI really could have left the fart humour at home. It wasn’t funny. I much prefer Ingo to Sean and still think Sean dances like a lumberjack while at least I find Ingo nice to look at. 🙂 And I really enjoyed Val and Zen’s dances. I’m also seeing a big lack of tsk-tsking over Derek’s shirtlessness from the folks who usually dislike such things. All in all, not my favourite episode.
This was definitely my least favorite performance show of the season. I felt all the couples were suffering from exhaustion and overload. There was no fun or energy in the ballrom, and everyone seemed to be dancing in slow motion. None of the performances were especially good, and the rumbas were all scary-bad.
I don’t blame Aly/Mark for “picking” Andy/Sharna because it seemed pretty obvious to me that TPTB gave instructions on how the couples were supposed to make their selection: “first couple to pick needs to choose the lowest scoring couple, next couple to pick has to choose the other “contender”, if you go up against Zen/Val, don’t choose rumba.”
Hopefully, everyone will bounce back next week. The Trio dances have been fun in the past and the pros and celebs seem to enjoy them too.
Well I was totally underwhelmed by last night’s show. I thought it was very hectic. I seem to spend most of my time feeling bad for the celebs that have all these new challenges thrown at them when I imagine they would like the time to actually perfect dances and learn. The dances seemed long after the shortened dances the last few weeks or maybe my imagination. First time I voted this season and for Andy because of the 5, Bruno’s comment, and the fact that I appreciate Andy’s journey and enthusiasm.
Overall, a lackluster night.
I think that Kellie and Derek did the best, out of what we were given. Lots of technique – not a ton of wow, but really solid. And given their schedule this week, I think it was probably a good choice.
I felt Aly and Mark’s dance lacked content – they obviously took all the lifts out to save Mark’s back, which I have no problem with, but they seemed to replace them with just shimmying. And I could have done without the crawling on the floor.
Jacoby and Karina were fun, but not spectacular, and like Len, I would have preferred fewer lifts.
Zendaya and Val – it was good, but again, nothing spectacular. The intensity was lacking from Zendaya – I agreed with CAI with her “no bass line” analogy (one of the very few times I agreed with her tonight).
Ingo and Kym and Sean and Peta – meh all round. I think Court’s description of Peta’s choreo is right on the money – and is one of the reasons I don’t like her dances.
Andy and Sharna – lots of fun. He got all my votes. I think Sharna’s re-imagining of the Gene Kelly/Cyd Charisse number from Singin in the Rain was great (and I thought that would be the number she was doing), and I think Andy sold it. CAI’s 5 was just plain cruelty – she gave DL a seven for worse dancing!
The dance off – bleh. Just stop with the gimmicks already. And it was obviously prearranged in terms of who would get what dances – if not by TPTB, then by the couples, because from Andy’s comments, it sounded like he would have liked jive, but Jacoby wanted it, and they weren’t allowed to give Zendaya rumba – so there you have it.
I don’t blame Mark and Aly for choosing Andy and Sharna, and while I might agree with the sentiment behind Val and Zendaya choosing Jacoby and Karina (in terms of seeing an actual match up) – he just said it all wrong. He pretty much managed to insult everybody in just a few words.
I think Andy’s cha cha was better than his first time dancing it, and I think Ingo improved as well. I can see why CAI may have changed her mind, and why Len went with them. I think the fact that they saw them dance one right after the other also may have shown up Sean’s lack of technique or musicality as compared to Ingo.
I’m hoping this plan to shove Andy out the door backfires – DL overcame huge odds, so I’m hoping Andy does too.
So, apparently, Sharna, Andy, Mark and Aly all discussed Aly picking Andy and them picking cha cha before hand. I certainly didn’t blame Mark before and I think people need to give him a break now. Seriously don’t understand how people can be pointing at Mark and crying “asshole” and think that VAL was the respectful one?? I think that’s pretty backwards. Oh, and Mark is the stupid one for not knowing when to keep his mouth shut?? Again, I think you have Mark confused with Val. LOL
While I know quite a few Kellie fans voted for Andy, I think it’s far more likely that most Kellie fans just didn’t vote at all. So don’t get your knickers in a twist just yet about him being safe. I hope he is…but having done the numbers, I tend to doubt it.
Hmmmm….jaybird, you make an interesting point. Val picking Jacoby actually did have the impact of getting EVERYONE except Andy over the 24 points threshold. If Val had picked Ingo, for example, Zendaya would still have gotten the three points, and Ingo would be stuck at 22 instead of 25. Sean would still have 24. Val effectively widened the margin between Andy and the other, lower tier guys. Things that make you go hmmmm…..
Geez…Derek fans worried about backlash because they got immunity? A) they were the better dancers so they should have gotten immunity. If it had been given to Zendaya it would have been a total farce and the judges were already getting a lot of crap for Andy; and B) Derek is going to get backlash from those quarters NO MATTER WHAT. Learn to live with it and move on, I say. Whether or not they are the majority remains to be seen. We’ll likely never really know. Squeaky wheels, all of them.
I think Derek doesn’t get flack for going shirtless because it’s not his default choice in Latin…or any…dances. Not to mention that when we pick on people going shirtless it’s usually accompanied by shitty choreography by female pros, like they didn’t have anything to give their male partner and he’s hot, so we’ll just make sure he takes his shirt off all the time. Derek’s was anything BUT shitty. Don’t know if I’ve ever seen a samba from him that had that much CONTENT. But what I do find weird is his comment apologizing to grandma and grandpa because he didn’t want to go shirtless. He did it on the show and then apologized on twitter. I get the apology part, but didn’t get the whole “I didn’t want to” comment. Is there THAT much manipulating going on behind the scenes?? He’s one to choose his words wisely and I didn’t get the feeling he was kidding or making it up.
I think you can be “direct” without being an asshole. I don’t have a problem with direct either, usually. Val has a bad way of phrasing things that make them sound assholey – it may not be his intent, but it happens often enough that it makes me wonder. Why not say “I think this a terrible idea” or “I don’t want to pick on ANYONE”?? Instead, these things come off as arrogant.
I know I’ve been watching this show too long. What last night was for; to give viewers impression that Kellie is getting all the votes so don’t bother voting for her, that Zen is NOT the chosen one, even tho they knew whomever she danced against in the challenge she would win via the judges, to try to get rid of Andy (and I hope its Ingo or Sean) and heap more ugly comments on him and to make us suffer through rumbas by Sean and Ingo. I had to leave the room during Sean’s,Bleech.
Guess it’s part of the plan for Aly to make finals but honestly, the girl has no rhythm, Mark appeared to be trying to cover her up for part of the immunity, and it was a mess, and NO WAY did her samba deserve the same score as Kellie. Despite the delusional CAI, Kellie’s had everything you could ask for in a samba and you could actually see the elements and finesse which is hard to do in samba except by some top ballroom dancers.
Jacoby is fun but will never have polish and I’m tired of the jumps, and by the way, his mom or whoever that is in the audience is making him look bad. If I were him I’d be humiliated by all that. And Val, there is just nothing to be said. Don’t care how good you are or think you are,or you think your partner is, can’t see anything beyond that lousy attitude. I just hope he and Zen keeeep talkin’ cause it’ll put people off, for sure.
I agree with the poster that said the most priceless part of the evening was seeing the looks on Val and Zendaya’s faces when they didn’t get the 30 they so clearly thought they would get. For me, it was one of the best parts of a lackluster night! I thought Kellie amd Derek perfomed a tight dance and did a great job; I always, always enjoy them; and CAI’s nine was one point too low. Jacoby can stop with those leaps over Karina; enough already, we know you can jump. I guess it was nice that Mark was able to dance, but I could have lived without the floor bit and all the shimmy stuff by Aly, which to me is a snorefest. The girl has no rhythm. Her costumes this season have hit a new low in costuming; is there nothing else that would look good on her?? Again, Mark with the spats, yawn. I was so bored with Ingo and Sean that I changed the channel. Dear little Andy is a dancing disaster but oh-so-fun to watch because his big heart is totally in it and he tries so hard.
About the choreography. I think Mark is not over-exerting himself because Aly has very little feel for music, or sense of rhythm. My hunch; they spend 6-7 hrs practicing and she runs the routine pretty well, but when they come back the next day, her timing and steps are off and it’s like starting all over. I think Derek is holding back to a certain extent because since KP is NOT a dancer, he is trying to teach her basic choreo and make it clean and smooth because if you throw too much in with a non-dancer it just looks sloppy and if he gets too far beyond the basics(although he has added some nice touches) he takes the chance of the judges docking her points and that could cause her to not get in the finals. And Val. although I don’t think he is up to choreo par with Derek/Karina there are some things he can’t do or try with ZEND because she is taller than him and it would make her look even more gangley or awkward.
I just watched last night’s episode and was just quite bored. The entire evening juts came off feeling very forced.
Kellie & Derek – I usually love Derek’s sambas (except the one with Ricki Lake because it was a Len samba, therefore crappy choreo), and I liked that he struck the balance between a Derek and a Len samba, and I ADORED Kellie’s dress and the slow-mo section. That being said, CAI was right, Kellie wasn’t in the moment. Not her best, but she got immunity, so that’s all that matters 🙂
Zendaya & Val – Val OWNS dancing the paso. I couldn’t even tell you whether or not Z was under or overscored, because I didn’t watch her at all. Moving on, yeah Z, it would have been totally easy to dance a cha cha or rumba (yeah right) in converse that were rhinestoned in advance. I didn’t think much of it at first until someone else here pointed it out. I’ve done those latin dances in flat shoes, and it is damn near impossible to – it freaking HURTS. So this stuff was definitely chosen in advance. And don’t eat me alive guys, but I didn’t see anything really wrong with what Val said. I felt like this week (especially with the dance-off challenge), he truly reverted to his competitor persona – and Val was a HARDCORE competitor, which is why he’s so highly decorated.
Jacoby & Karina – I adore Jacoby, and Karina has some hell of a mind for lifts, but I can’t for the life of me understand why the judges raved about this dance. I felt like the dance looked better in the rehearsal package and to me, he barely moved – though when he did, it was hot 🙂 but CAI was gross. Who SAYS that? Though his mom needs to take a chill pill, even if I think she’s hilarious. And may I just take a second to LOL at his faces?! I can’t watch anything with him without cracking up. OH! And that leapfrog? Reminiscent of Monaco’s spinning. STOP.
Sean & Peta – tired of him talking about his love and the Bachelor and Catherine. TIRED OF IT. Once I saw her start to stretch her foot, I just thought, “and there it is!” Cliche much.
Ingo – I did really like the routine Kym put together, but it was awkward.
Andy – OUCH. Below the belt. I almost hope he stays and Z gets sent home just to piss off the judges and TPTB for thinking everyone is stupid and manipulating them.
But the judges were fairer in their critiques this time around, I felt like. And all the dupes in the girls’ costumes for the dance-off round (with the exception of Z and Sharna) was half of all I could stare at. I thought it was interesting how they all went for more neutral style dresses, like things you would see competitors wearing in a REAL dance competition. Pretty cool.
And the only reason I loved the dance off was because it showed us the pros and what they REALLY dance like – it brought out the competitor in them, I think. I’ve never seen Karina or Val dance so fiercely with celeb partners.

Had to double take when Mark introduced the Jive dance off as “First, Zendaya and Val, then Jacoby and MARK.” I would like to see Jacoby and Mark jive.
HAAAAA right?? I hit my 8 second rewind because I thought I’d heard wrong. Nope, Bergeron really did call Karina Mark…and Jacoby/Mark’s jive would have everyone crying, because Mark is SUCH a great girl when he dances ;))))))
Not sure if any of the dances deserved a 10 last night, but when they started out over scoring Jacoby, what else can they do. Just over him & his attitude. I thought Kellie did fine and loved Aly’s dance. Don’t care if Aly wasn’t technically perfect, because according to CA, what was it she told Jacoby, something about the technical part didn’t matter in Salsa…whatever, CA needs to go. I did love the look on Val & Zendaya’s faces when they weren’t scored at the top. Not a fan of Z’s dancing and can’t quite put my finger on it. Her legs do not look strong and she doesn’t seem finish things. To the people complaining about Aly’s costumes, this is jmo, I think they try to cover her midsection. She doesn’t have an hourglass figure and might be unselfconscious about, but again, jmo.
Let it be known that I’m shirking homework to do this. Yes, I’m putting DWTS above my homework at the moment. I really shouldn’t, considering last night wasn’t anything special. Oh well. Also, Court, you should have gone to the mexican restaurant. Chips and salsa sounded like they would have held your attention better than last night’s show.
Jacoby & Karina: I mean, what dance that this guy does won’t be fun? I really enjoyed it, but I didn’t see Jacoby do much, really. So I was surprised to see him get his highest score for a dance that really wasn’t his best. The guy’s tons of fun, but the dance wasn’t really THAT good. And I’m glad that the Salsa’s not a very technical dance, so he did have a little breathing room from that.
Ingo &Kym: I’m sorry, I can’t remember anything from this dance. Kym and her boobage stole the show. That’s all I can say about this one…
Kellie & Derek: I think the song worked against them in a way. It’s not particularly fast, so I don’t think Derek could have gone flashy even if he wanted to. I did like the slo-mo part in the middle too. I think it’s safe to say it was the best samba of the season, but it’s a far cry from some of the sambas I’ve seen in the past. Plus, isn’t the samba Derek’s least favorite dance to choreograph PH?
Andy & Sharna: God bless ’em. He’s trying so hard, and can’t seem to get the judges to realize that he’s capable of improvement. Was it his best dance? No. But did he do a better job with it than anyone expected him to? I thought so. I thought it should have been at least 18. 5s should be non existent with the way the judges are scoring by this point in the season. That was ridiculous. I really wish he can make it to next week, but he’s got A LOT of ground to cover…
Aly & Mark: Without a doubt my favorite dance from these two. I thought it was super fun with just the right amount of sex from Aly. I think I again saw her lose her balance a couple of times, so I do think it was a bit over scored, but I really don’t mind too much because imperfect dances get 10s all the time on this show.
Sean & Peta: Every time I see him dance I can’t help but think that he’s just so awkward. Even when he’s trying to do the rumba moves with his fiancée, he still looks super awk. I just want to fast forward through him every time I see him. One of my brothers commented a couple weeks ago “Something tells me they aren’t keeping him on the show because of his dancing.” an I’ve never heard a more accurate statement.
Zendaya & Val: Maybe it was me just wanting her to bomb this paso, but I think it was my least favorite dance of hers. I hated the music, and I hated the dress. The dancing was good, but I think Zendaya’s got Aly’s problem showing up now: She looked a little wobbly in this dance. No doubt it’s from those long ass legs. Overall, I think she’s still my favorite, but this was without a doubt a dance I hated from her.
Immunity Dances:
I agree with Court: Anyone who would have picked Andy would have looked like a douche. But Andy didn’t care, so if he didn’t, I don’t see why anyone else should. I actually thought both of them did well, but with a glaring mistake in the dance, and Aly just being a better dancer overall, Andy had no hope of winning.
I actually think Jacoby and Zendaya were too evenly matched. I couldn’t tell how the judges were going to go because Jacoby went for the entertainment and Zendaya went for technique. I was actually quite surprised that not one of the judges picked Jacoby, because at times, I felt like he was doing a better job than Zendaya.
As for Ingo and Kym, I tuned out. I was watching the television, but I don’t think I was paying too much attention to them. Honestly, I can’t even tell who was better because I’m so apathetic about these two.
Kellie and Derek’s dances are sometimes overscored and last night was definitely an example. It seems like this is Len’s favorite couple and even when he gives them criticism, they are still marked higher. Sometimes their routines are just boring though and she needs to bring the fun and excitement more. Kellie is consistent and dedicated so she should definitely be in the top three.
Zendaya and Val seem to bring it every week but last night was a little stale. It wasn’t fluid. They were definitely underscored in relation to Kellie and Aly. The judges definitely hold Zendaya to a higher standard while using the same scoring method. Across the three judges, their one major critique about her performance was her chin. Zendaya should win this whole competition but she is going to need a 10 from Len. Which I wonder why he is so hesitant to give to her? Is he always this hard on the Disney stars or is it because she is 16? Also, Val is a little too much sometimes and should keep his mouth shut.
Aly and Mark- Aly is great and makes progress every week. This week, she was definitely overscored. When does crawling on the floor ever make for a wonderful dance? Their reason for picking Andy in the dance-off was definitely two-fold, to win points and to give Andy his choice of dance. Much ado about nothing and Aly shouldn’t feel the need to defend herself. I definitely want to see Aly up there in the top. I feel like she brings more fun to her performances
Jacoby and Karina- Jacoby is fun and playful but not exactly the best technical dancer. Their dance last night was nice but their dance-off performance was even better. I loved their energy and it really would have been nice if they could split the three points between the two couples. Possibly top three if they can edge out Aly and Mark.
Ingo and Kym- Although I think that Ingo has no natural rhythmic ability and Kym may be tired of this nonsense, I would like to see them stay another week. Ingo is putting out the effort and definitely enjoying the experience. His dances also seem more coordinated as time goes on.
Sean and Peta- I guess Sean tried his best throughout the competition but it’s definitely time for him to go tonight. He doesn’t have the personality of Andy and he sometimes looks overly muscular and awkward on the dance floor. The whole segment with bringing his fiance in to evoke passion and romance was weird. I get the crossover effect of the stars that ABC gets to participate in this competition but how relevant are any of the Bachelor/Bachelorette people anyway? How many happy/lasting unions or marriages have resulted from these shows?
Andy and Sharna- Andy’s personality and fans have definitely carried him this far into the competition. He’s not precise like Zendaya or fun like Aly/Jacoby but his story of the underdog and beating addiction is what America loves. Andy should make it past Sean, not sure about Ingo though.
It’s because she’s the RINGER, Mae. That’s how Len scores ringers. That said, she couldn’t touch either Kellie or Aly last night. If Kellie and Aly were overscored, so was Zendaya, cuz she was definitely in the third position in terms of dancing. Maybe even fourth, since I enjoyed Jacoby’s more.
Actually, comparing zendaya to say, Mya or Nicole – Len has been pretty easy on her.
MY Favorite dance was Aly’s, sure technically it wasn’t perfect, but I love the Performance part so much!! She was Shaking it and I was grinning throughout the whole dance.
About the immunity dance I know a reason she chose Andy because he was the weakest, but I do think the cha cha being the dance was a bigger reason she chose him. She was way better off doing the cha cha than the rumba or jive. Watch it over and look at how happy she got when Andy chose the cha cha.
Now when it comes to Val’s comment about picking someone your own size, I got so mad. Ever since he came on the show I have been trying to have my own opinion about him and not think of him Maks #2, but he is. That was not necessary and I think that really upset Mark and Aly. I just wished Jacoby would have chosen Rumba, I LOVED Jocaby’s rumba, and it didn’t seem like Zendaya and Val rehearsed the rumba so much, since Val was so sure they would get immunity! Going back to Val, then up in the skybox he goes and makes a comment about Kellie and Derek, and then Derek’s face was priceless, I swear I have never loved Derek this much. He was like “ARe you freakin kidding me?” I found it really funny, because I felt the same way. Val is getting way to caught up, he has to remember the best freestyles aren’t the ones with the best technique, its the ones with the best choreography and performance. I can assure you that is what will put Kellie over Zendaya in the finals.
@Mae, Len doesn’t always score them against each other, but rather against themselves, and what HE sees could be their potential. The more potential he thinks they’ve got, the longer it is that he waits to use that 10, he wants to MAKE them work for that 10.
Since Len gave his first 10 of the season to Kellie, my personal opinion is that he either doesn’t feel that Kellie has as high of a potential for growth/learning/ability as Zendaya, or Derek’s got more of an understanding about what Len is looking for in a routine than Val does.
My feeling is a bit of both.
I just want to say that I’m extremely impressed with Sharna (gotta admit I was not expecting to be). She does really well with Andy and her choreography is totally fun; I love her! Because of her although I wince when I see Andy dance, I can still watch without covering my eyes because I am watching her and she is great. Love her routines! She does fun, she does cheeky, she does cheesy…but she does it without showing the desperation I have seen/felt when watching Kym dance with Ingo, Peta dance with Sean or Cheryl dance with DL. Sometimes they just seem to run around in a desperate attempt to cover up their flaws. Does she do things to try to cover up Andy’s flaws? Well sure! But for some reason she just doesn’t look desperate doing it. Just my two cents…
Just wanted to give Val a big thumb up for managing to insult five of his competitors with just two sentences. That takes some talent!
And seriously Val, if you like fair competition as much as you say why did Zendaya jive in sneakers?
I don’t blame Mark and Aly in the least for choosing Andy. We all know he would have lost anyway. What really hosed Andy, as has already been pointed out above, was giving the judges the possibility to grant Ingo the 3 points, which could only have happened by having Val choose Jacoby. My two cents is that it was all scripted to get Andy out of the way, but well done to Sharna anyway for bringing him this far and for providing entertaining choreography!
I think the most comedic thing of all is Maks recent tweet regarding Val!!! Zendaya should bow down to be so lucky to have Sir Val teach a 16 year old. WTF is wrong with the two of them?! They literally can’t get their feet out of their mouths…
@Joey, humble pie was not on their dessert menu at home! 😉
So I’m 17 and I do really love Zendaya. I had no clue who she was before this and I don’t think everything she does is perfect or amazing and I’m def not a “zswagger”, but it’s awesome to see someone my age dancing so well in this competition. At the beginning of the season, I thought Aly would be my favorite because of all the excitement from London and of course I was comparing her to Shawn, but Aly’s been pretty meh for me. She’s been getting better and more entertaining the past couple weeks, but Kellie and Jacoby are ranked higher than her in my opinion. Andy does make my heart swell when I watch him dance and the judges have been so unnecessarily cruel to him. I’m hoping he beats the odds and doesn’t go home. I want Sean to leave since I’m not crazy about Peta’s choreography and he’s just such an awkward dancer. Ingo isn’t too good either, but at this point he’s still too forgettable. Latin Night was kind of a let down. I thought most couples were overscored. I hope they stop with the themes for a while and just let everyone dance.
Kellie and Derek’s dance was, as usual, boring. They were grossly over-scored. There’s no way they deserved 29 points and the immunity.
Ali and Mark’s was bad, too. All she did was shimmy the whole time, and she always looks so awkward to me when she dances. Again, there’s no way their dance deserved any 10s.
This wasn’t my favorite week for Zendaya and Val, but if we’re going to score in relation to everyone else, she deserved at least another point or two. And Val’s comment, to me, was spot-on. If you’re going by the judges’ scores throughout the competition, technically, Kellie and Derek are the only ones who’re “their size.” Sean and Ingo know they’re not even close to being on the same level. It’s not like this is some big secret.
Jacoby and Karina pretty much the same to me tonight as he has been the past few weeks. His dances are entertaining – more so than Kellie’s – but I didn’t think the 9s were warranted.
Ingo and Sean (and Kym and Peta, respectively) were both mostly forgettable. The only thing I remember about either of them was that they looked uncomfortable.
Andy was his usual adorable self and it’s heartbreaking that he got a 5 when you can tell how hard he tries every week and how much he wants to succeed. At least his dance didn’t have me yawning (a la Kellie and Derek).
Overall, the whole immunity thing was stupid, as well as the subsequent dance-offs. I do, however, think it would have been a bit more fair if they didn’t choose who they’d be up against, and if the points were awarded per vote (which I guess would have only given Sean back a point, but still).
I guess it’s “to each his own”, Holly, because Kellie’s dance was my favourite of the night. As far as Val’s comment goes, it might have been “spot-on” for you, but I think a more mature and humble person might have thought it, acted on it ( picked Jacoby), but wouldn’t feel the need to say it!
But, hey when Maksim tweets, that Valentin picking Jacoby for dance-off was one of the most noble moves of DWTS’ history, than so it is. Remember, it’s HIS show.
Don’t play with thinly veiled trolls, Meggie. She’s doing a good job of trying to hide it, but you can kinda smell the stench if you get up close. 😉
You also get deleted for straying from topic, Holly. Buh bye.
You are welcome to have a different opinion. It’s when you’re an asshole (and repetitive) about it that you smell like a troll. We’ve seen enough of them here, that’s for sure.
Point taken, PH! I usually get sucked in at least once a season! 😉
LOL. Here’s a handy measuring stick, Meggie. If you’ve never seen the person post here before and they come in with a long post that is negative about nearly all the couples (except Zendaya, to a large degree), the best plan is to wait and see if they start to act like most of our posters do, or if they continue to be somewhat antagonistic. Usually, when someone comes in here all guns blazing it’s because they’re trying to pick a fight – or they just have no manners. We’ve seen a lot of trolls this season and they often start out just like Holly did. You might not have seen it, but after I made the troll comment, she rather went on to prove me right.
This website is rather like a block party. All the neighbors are here, having drinks and gossiping about DWTS. Every once in a while a new person moves into the neighborhood. Some of them, instead of politely introducing themselves and trying to blend into the conversations, they barge in, grab a drink out of someone else’s hand and proceeds to expound at great length, disagreeing with all the neighbors in as rude a way as possible.
Where I’m from, you at least introduce yourself and become acquainted with people before you tell them they’re all full of shit. 🙂
[…] Courtney: Court said Andy was going home, with Ingo in the bottom two with him. […]
