PureDWTS Season 16 Week 9 Post Elimination Media, Kellie Pickler Comments On Angelina Jolie
Unfortunately, the couples didn’t do any interviews after the show last night with On The Red carpet, etc. Some of them might have went straight to rehearsals for next week’s finals. There was also a 300th episode Party they might have attended, but, Ingo and Kym did chat with E News a little about their elimination.
“My talent was just a little bit below that (the strength of the four finalists who made it) and I’m just happy where we ended up,” Ingo says.
His partner Kym Johnson adds, “Ingo hadn’t danced before. He was one of the ones in the competition that didn’t know anything about dance in general, so he was really learning from scratch. He improved out of sight every single week. If there was a mirror ball for most improved he’d get that!”
Ingo sums it up by saying, “We expected to go home tonight. We weren’t nervous tonight, we’re really happy how far we got!”
As well they should be. They danced their best dances Monday night and didn’t go out without a fight. I’m always going to remember Ingo for his sparkly eyes, his facial expressions while dancing (which I loved loved), his passion, and determination. And then there is his cute son Peanut. Stay tuned. We may have more with them and Good Morning America later.
Also, and off topic, what did you all think about Angelina Jolie’s decision to come forward about having a double mastectomy? I thought it was awesome. My Mom had the same thing done in the early 90’s and she’s never had a recurrence yet. Below is Kellie Pickler with her thoughts on it from E News….
“I think it’s amazing that she’s come forward and talked about this because there’s so many women that need to hear this and need to make sure that they’re getting their check-ups,” Pickler says of Jolie’s decision to under a double mastectomy after doctors told her she had an 87 percent risk of developing breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of getting ovarian cancer in her lifetime. Pickler stresses, “Early detection is the key.”
More at E News.
Ok, that is all for now, Dancettes. More in a bit. 😉 xx
ETA: PopTVDotCom has some coverage of the 300th episode party held last night. You can check out all of their videos here.
ETA2: On The Red Carpet is a little late getting their elimination interviews up, but, here they are now in all of their glory. George asks them on their Freestyles, why they deserve to be in the finals, the new format next season, and much more. Thanks to EPMusic for the heads up!!
Be watching Access Hollywood. They may post some new interviews too.
Also, see this link to see Ingo and Kym on GMA today.
What a great attitude Ingo has about his elimination. If only they could bottle it.
I applaud Angelina Jolie and her willingness to come out and share her decision. Generally I’m not fond of celebrities sharing every little detail of their private lives, but in this case it could literally save lives.
My Grandma had a double mastectomy when I was a teenager. She opted not to have reconstructive surgery. She was a widow and told us “there’s nobody there to look at them anyway!”. She did wear falsies in her bra. They sort of looked like bean bags.
Sometimes she would take them out of her bra and start tossing them to us for a game of catch! She was a hoot!
Hey, I just wanted to let you ladies know there are OTRC interviews for this week, they were just later than usual getting them online. Thanks for everything you do!
Oh cool thanks so much EP! We’ll get them up right now. THANKS!!
Ingo is so happy to be done! lol Can’t wait to see what Karina comes up with for a freestyle!
So Carrie Ann mentioned that Zendaya’s samba was one of Carrie Ann’s top 10 faves…lol
Zendaya tweeted Carrie Ann–
@carrieanninaba can’t wait to redo the samba and make it perfect!!
So they will redo a dance, but will it really be THE COUPLE’S favorite or what TPTB tell them their fave is? 🙂
Interesting question, sheery. Pretty sure Shawn and Derek had little choice last season. CAI also named Kellie and Derek’s AT – if they dance that again I’ll be pissed.
Why on earth can’t they pick their own dance? Why is that so important for the producers to dictate contestants what is their “favorite dance”?
I remember last season when Derek and Shawn had picked a different dance to re-do, according to Henry. Then within 24 hours, it came out that they were re-doing their quickstep. You know the one that Len hated because of the “rule breaking” in it. Now why would Derek choose to re-do that in the finals knowing what was going to happen? I would bet money that he was told to do it!
Not to mention, Meggie, that Derek is on record more than once saying that you shouldn’t pick a dance for the finale that you’ve already done on the show twice. I’ve not seen Derek break his own personal rules prior to last season. Derek’s biggest problem is also one of his best traits – loyalty and professionalism. We will probably never hear the truth. I think the producers count on that.
