New Report Says Tony Kanaan Has Auditioned For Dancing With The Stars, Waiting For Word Back

USA Today Sports is reporting that Indy 500 winner Tony Kanaan has auditioned for Dancing With The Stars and he could find out tomorrow (Friday) if he makes the cut. Here is more….

Tony Kanaan is waiting to hear back from the show.

The reigning Indy 500 winner told the Indianapolis Star that he has auditioned to be on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” and could find out as soon as Friday whether or not he made next season’s cast of the popular show.

Don’t get too excited though because if you’ve been following the site, this isn’t the first time it’s been reported that Tony would find out on a “Friday” if he was going to dance. Courtney reported that he was waiting for an invitation and he’d find out something last Friday as you might remember. None the less, it seems this rumor isn’t going away anytime soon and many of us are glad for that. Bring on Tony TPTB!

Brooke Burke Charvet: Production Still Working Out Details For One Night Of Week Of DWTS

Oh, I was hoping when learning Brooke Burke Charvet was on KTLA this morning, she’d mention some teasers about Dancing With The Stars, but, she didn’t for the most part. All that Brooke mentioned is how excited she is for the new season and thinks it will be fun. She also said she has no idea who will be in the new cast. When they mention three names as rumors (John Stamos, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Abby Lee Miller), she seemed really excited about the first two and said “could be” and smiled to Abby Lee (scary, no just no). Brooke also mentions that she thinks one show a week will give the show longevity and that production is still working out the details. Brooke also plugs Sketchers and how for every pair you buy, another pair will be given to someone needy in the world. She discusses her cancer too and how she is cancer free now…. Read more..

Sharna Burgess Interviewed About Her Summer, New Season Of Dancing With The Stars, And More

SharnaBurgessDizzyFeet

Hey All! Celebrity reporter Stuart Brazell (love her!!) held a Spreecast with Dancing With The Stars Sharna Burgess last night. She and fans asked her all about her summer. She’s been one busy girl as you know from all of our previous postings and interviews.

Sharna reveals five things you didn’t know about her including that she is naturally a blond. She was also once a punk chic in her teens. She talks a little on her competition days too and how at one time, she was just a “Country Girl”.

Sharna was also asked on her favorite style of dance. She loves the Viennese Waltz and the Paso Doble, but, across the board, the Contemporary dance is her ultimate favorite for it’s freedom of movement.

Sharna was also asked about Dancing With The Stars and her favorite moments with Andy Dick last season. She talks of costume designing for the show and how much she loves it (you can tell! She’s so good at this!). She loves taking something from the current runaways.

Her biggest challenge doing Dancing With The Stars though is getting enough sleep and enough to eat while keeping up…just remembering to try and find balance. Even though Sharna doesn’t confirm whether she’s on Dancing With The Stars this season, Sharna is very excited about it….especially having an extra day to practice with a celebrity. She’s also very much looking forward to all the new songs she would like to perform too and finding music that is not so mainstream.

Great interview!! You can listen to it in full at this link. Picture above courtesy of Zimbio Pictures. So pretty and see more at the link! I love her as a Brunette!!

PureDWTS Peta Murgatroyd And Val Chmerkovskiy Talk About Their Chemistry And Ballroom With A Twist

Just a heads up! Peta Murgatroyd and Val Chmerkovskiy have joined the cast of “Ballroom With A Twist” for a week at the the Patchogue Theatre in Long Island. Newsday has a great article about it which includes a little interview with Peta and Val. Here is a take where they talk of their chemistry and more. Note too how Val says he plans to do some Hip Hop.

“We have a broader dance repertoire than we have on the TV show,” says Murgatroyd, who won the mirrored-ball trophy with partner and now-retired NFL star Donald Driver on season 14 of “DWTS.”

“We have some group numbers with just the boys and then just the girls as we dance to songs by ‘Idol’ finalists,” Murgatroyd says in a phone interview from her Los Angeles home. Of her paired dancing in “Ballroom,” she adds, “I love dancing with Val. He’s a great friend and the most talented guy in the show. He inspires me.”

Chmerkovskiy returns the compliment.

“We have great chemistry on the dance floor,” he says. “It’s a very different experience than the TV show. We don’t have the responsibility of training people who may be great athletes or celebrities but aren’t dancers.”

SHOWING HIS VERSATILITY

Chmerkovskiy says he’s looking forward to displaying some of his hip-hop moves, too. His skills are not limited to ballroom dance. He’s also an aspiring rapper and a classically trained violinist. In his most recent of four “Dancing With the Stars” stints — season 16 — he danced with Disney Channel star and recording artist Zendaya Coleman.

Now living in New Jersey, the two-time International DanceSport Federation world champion also co-owns Dance With Me studios, which has a branch in Glen Head. Next up for Chmerkovskiy: Launching Dance With Me Jr., teaching dance to kids.

More at Newsday. If you live in the area, he sure to take the show in. For ticket information and dates, etc, see the link.
